BEWARE DO NOT GO TO THIS AUTO CENTER!!!!!!!! STEER CLEAR!!!!!!!

I had a strange experience and have gone to the corporate office to complain.

On May 16, I purchased 4 new tires from Sears Auto Center at 1802 Lawrence and had them installed on my truck. I went to Sears because they have a warranty and because I have used them in the past. During the process of installing the new tires they performed an inspection. The inspection called for an alignment on the Front Total Toe. They claimed to have performed the alignment. After the work was done I picked my truck up and noticed there was a lot more play in my power steering I also did not think the alignment was that much better that my truck felt the same. But because it did not bother me before I just drove it BIG MISTAKE!
(To give them credit they did let me know that the power steering had a lot of play in the gear box, however I am wondering if they may have caused this too, since I had not noticed any looseness in my steering before taking it to them).

Jump to 2 weeks later and I was in a minor fender bender. I took my vehicle in to be inspected for any damage telling my regular mechanic (Gateway Auto, which I highly recommend BTW. I have been a customer since 2004). I told them that the vehicle seemed to be off alignment, that I had just had the vehicle aligned at Sears and that it must have been due to the accident.

Both the claims adjustor and my mechanic inspected my vehicle and told me that the tie rods, hardware around etc. (my truck is an old ford ranger with major RUST) did not look like they had been touched. They both surmised that it did not look like it had been touched in years! No tool striations on the rust!

I called Maurice who is the manager explaining what my mechanic and insurance adjustor told me and he will not even consider that the alignment was not done. I offered to bring my truck back for him to inspect but bottom line he claims unless I had brought it back the very next day there is no way to prove it. Obviously customer trust and rights mean nothing to him. He has to be lying. I am out $85.00 for an alignment that never took place. Apparently they just took the old tires off and put the new tires on, never aligning my vehicle.
I have filed an issue of complaint with the Corporate Sears Center however my chances are slim to none getting my money back because I was in that unlucky accident.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE THERE UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC TO HAVE THEM INSPECT IT TO CONFIRM THAT THE WORK WAS ACTUALLY DONE.
