Folks...the reason you are getting no service is this company is spending 100's or thousands of your money suing me!! They insuranced a business in California that I had a severe accident at, so I sued them but lost... now they are suing me using your money!! Can anyone tell me if this company is going out of business? Why so desperate to sue me for a few thousand dollars but spend 100K on attorneys?? This company is disgusting! Rip off! Cancel your policies ASAP! They have no money to cover you!! Total scam company!!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. I would give 0 stars if I could. This is the worst company for pet insurance. I regret ever giving ONE PENNY to this company. Long story short, they don't even recognize my cat's breed (Scottish Straight) and they're constantly changing his breed to Scottish Fold. HE'S NOT A FOLD. They change it without my permission and I constantly have to call them to have it changed to Domestic Short Hair. Folds tend to have more health problems, that's why Nationwide keeps filing him as one. They find any and every excuse to exclude EVERYTHING from your policy. And when you fight to have stuff removed they find another thing to tack on. Part of that issue was I was going to a vet who didn't even know what a Scottish Fold/Straight was, so they were reporting FALSE information to Nationwide. But as a PET INSURANCE COMPANY they should KNOW THE BREEDS AND KNOW WHEN THEY'RE BEING GIVEN FALSE INFORMATION. Since then, I switched to a vet who KNOWS MY CAT'S BREED and gave him a COMPLETE BILL OF "PERFECT" HEALTH. Well my Nationwide policy was up for renewal, and I called to upgrade (because you can only upgrade at the time of renewal) because I want to get regular dental cleanings done on my cat to PREVENT DISEASE, and they denied my request because my cat his LIVER ISSUES?! No vet has EVER told me my cat has liver issues. I immediately called my vet's office to ask why they said that and they said A) they have NO RECORD OF EVER EVEN SPEAKING TO NATIONWIDE PET INSURANCE and B) have NO RECORD OF MY CAT EVER HAVING ANY LIVER ISSUES. Nationwide Pet Insurance is a fraudulent/scam of a company. My cat's breeder has also switched all of her pets off of Nationwide Pet Insurance to Trupanion, and she hasn't had ONE issue. I will be following her lead and switching as well. Nationwide Pet Insurance also has HORRIBLE customer services response times. I can't tell you how many time I've emailed and it takes 3-5 business days to get a response. Also, when I called to renew/upgrade, the guy I spoke with asked me a series of questions, and said they would have to submit a request for the upgrade. My cat has NONE OF THE ISSUES THAT WERE ASKED. The guy told me he would call me back when he heard about my request. He NEVER CALLED BACK. I called today (a week later) and the woman tells me "a voicemail was left" which is a lie because I don't have a VM from them at all. They didn't bother sending me any correspondence either concerning the supposed "liver issues." DO NOT USE NATIONWIDE PET INSURANCE. DO NOT USE NATIONWIDE PET INSURANCE. DO NOT USE NATIONWIDE PET INSURANCE. DO NOT USE NATIONWIDE PET INSURANCE. DO NOT USE NATIONWIDE PET INSURANCE. I CAN'T SAY IT ENOUGH.

By far the worst insurance company out there. Want approve claims awful customer service. If you have to pay a little more I suggest you do it rather than going with this company wish I could give less than 1 star

Honestly, they were pretty awful to deal with. We started a gym in 2018. They charged us $27,000/year for liability premiums.

At the end of year 1 they performed an audit to see if we "owed" them more money. We actually were about 75% below our estimated revenues. Even though the contract stipulates that we would be returned excess premium payments, they made sure to include a clause that says that we would actually owe 100% premium minimum. This made the reimbursement stipulation moot.

Sadly we didn't discover this until the end of year two when we realized they owed us potentially $25,000 in returned premiums over a two year period. Fortunately, we were able to switch to a better company that provided higher coverage limits for just $11,000/year.

Oh, and they also added a clause that said they could charge us double premiums if we refused the audit. So we got audited twice to show they owed us money, but they don't have to pay because they added 1 line in a 120+ page contract.

If I could give zero stars, or negative 1000 i would. I Believe that This company is a huge scam and i'm finding a new policy immedietly. they are coming after me for almost $1000 because my salon had higher sales then they predicted! since when was insurance based on sales? I got coverage for every single service that we offer. looking through my paperwork , They never told me that if my sales were higher,n theyd come back on me for more money. in my opinion, This company is FRAUD

I have to say this is the worst experience I've ever had dealing with an insurance company. They are very unprofessional, it's like dealing with people with a fifth grade education. In fact I think a fifth grader has more sense than anyone at this company. They never answer the phone, all calls go to voicemail. I have left numerous voicemails and have yet to receive one phone call back. (This has been going on for two weeks). They couldn't care less about getting your claim resolved. I would not and will not recommend doing any business what so ever with Scottsdale Insurance Company.

Beware any professional services company. We have a successful small professional services business and the Board of Directors needed D&O insurance. Scottsdale reviewed the business and wrote us a policy. We paid the premiums each year, thinking we were protected. Until a frivolous lawsuit came up and the Directors needed to use the insurance. Then Scottsdale said that it wouldn't cover the Directors because the policy had a professional services exclusion. That is ALL WE DID.

These guys are thieves.

Horrible!!! I am not a customer of theirs thank goodness, but was injured by one. They cant figure out how to contact their customer. They do not contact you or keep you informed of the claim. Always have to leave a message and no one returns your call. I think three months of waiting for answers is long enough!

They are absolutely NOT on "your side" as I have had homeowner's insurance and every time I have a claim they find a way to NOT cover me. Then I point out my policy details -- that I should be covered -- and they say "send us an email with photos and more info" then they still decline to help me.

My first claim was regarding a roof problem. After I called in, they decided to add a "roof exclusion" to my policy. That is like if you had "comp and collision" on an auto policy, and you hit a deer, then call in to make a claim and they say "oh, we don't cover deer, as of today".

The second time I had a claim regarding an A/C unit, they said they don't cover A/C units on my policy, but I explained it was from wind and hail damage, which it was. I sent in photos and proof but still haven't heard back.

So, they WILL take your money, but they WON'T cover you when you need it. Not just a waste of your time and money but an additional loss when you have to pay in full for your own claims with your own money.

Awful. Stay away... don't listen to the hyped up 5 star reviews. Those reviews are from people who work there and don't want to lose their jobs.

Beautiful campus and great people! I have been an associate with a Nationwide for almost 4 years now and it is a great place to work. The compensation and benefits are unbeatable but most of all I love the people I work with. It is such a great culture to be a part of.

in an empty parking lot at home depot on a very gusty, windy day, a man parked close to me in the parking spot next to me and when he opened his door the wind caught it and it slammed into my car causing damage. while exchanging information and after he removed something from the drivers side rear, the drivers side rear door was caught by the wind and slammed into my car causing only scuffing but will need to be buffed out because there is a visible large mark. this man who is a foreigner visiting from France in a rental car reporter only one damaged area. my wife was in the back seat and saw everything, I have pictures o the scuff caused by the rear door. this insurance company , specifically the claims adjuster Billy is an absolute jerk! he acts like an arrogant cop and treats people like dirt. because his client filed a false claim and failed to report damage to my vehicle, this insurance company is siding with him and not believing my claim of the second impact, the damage, my wife watching it happen, the pictures, and a perfect alignment with the rental car door. Scottsdale is refusing to acknowledge the damage of the second impact and what may only be 30-60 dollars to repair, they are saying that their lying subscriber trumps me , my wife, my phones, and the visible damage on my vehicle. i suppose my only option will be to file in small claims court and waste much more money of their subscribers money fighting this claim. it is principal! i didn't cause this, there was an empty parking lot and he decided to park right next to me without leaving enough door clearance in a clearly wide enough parking stall. he was careless when he opened his door and he was careless when he allowed his rear door to cause a second impact. because your subscriber decides to lie on an insurance claim, failed to report damage, and is probable breaking the law as a result. you feel it is the right thing to do and side with him and not believe the good faith and honesty of the truth.

PEOPLE BEWARE!!!!! DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THIS INSURANCE PROVIDER!!!

We are not able to get through to our claims adjuster Naomi. This experience has not been the best. We have reached out to her on several occasions and still get nothing in return. We've even scheduled a conference call at her convenience and were not able to speak to her. By far the worst experience i have had with resolving a claim.

Most difficult insurance company I have ever had to deal with. I have been in the trucking business for almost 30 years and decided to take a chance with a new company in 2015. Each and every time we have add a vehicle, request a form or try to hire a driver we get nothing but problems. Running a small business is difficult enough and to have an unresponsive and uncooperative insurance company is unacceptable. They go as far as refuse to submit certificates of insurance to our home state of Ohio for proof of trucking insurance. Each time we request a service from Scottsdale we are charge in addition to our overly expensive premium.

They love not helping you. They love taking your money, tho.

Every time I've called with a claim, they find a way to decline it. Usually a very asinine reason. When I try to appeal, they don't care. Also, they don't follow up with you quickly (or at all sometimes). You will fight an uphill battle.

Horrible company. We had an 18 wheeler side swipe my husband (he was parked) they continue to want to deny the claim even though their client was the one driving and my husband was parked. They have been nothing but unhelpful. I will continue to give them bad reviews due to their horrible customer service. Never in my life have I had these issues with a wreck and insurance companies before...

I have them for a commercial warehouse-I have not had any claims-you would think that they would send to me in a timely mannor renewal notices. NEVER has that occured, maybe that is good. since reading these reviews I think I will start my search for a new company to cover my property.

Had them for our homeowners policy. We never made an insurance claim in the 17 years we lived here and they kept harassing us and writing outrageous, unsubstantiated exclusions. They even had some A-hole stop by for and inspection in an old junker and it dumped oil all over our new cement driveway. We are the freaking customer, what don't you understand about that?
The agency that sold us the policy just lost our homeowners, 4 vehicles and a business policy. If you want an insurance company that will pick unprovoked fights with their customs Nationwide / Scottsdale is the company for you.

I am a small business owner and have had Scottsdale for numerous years. I am not a big fan of web based reviews. I feel everyone should be able to explain their side, but this is a horrible company to have insurance with. Steer clear!
You will greatly appreciate this advice! Remember Nationwide is not on your side!

Too bad I can't give it a 0. I don't have this company, but my car was totaled by someone who does. They would not answer nor return my calls until my insurance agent called with a nice little message for them. My accident was in May, all information and bills were turned over to them and I just got a collection notice for my medical bills that they were sent.

The people I pay to supposedly protect me want me to pay $500.00 for the "investigation" into the claim... They are determined to gouge their customers coming and going... Go with anyone else other than Stephan Harris the 'adjuster' (more like theif!)
