Good bagels - I especially liked the whipped cream cheese. They have a nice outdoors patio, but the indoor seating is lacking. A great place to grab bagels to go!

10/10 would recommend, best breakfast place I ve ever been.

Great food and location. Lox and bagel were delicious as was the bacon, egg and cheese bagel. Friendly and helpful staff with comfortable and laid back seating outside. Inside eating too. Will be back.

Awful experience.....they left the wax paper on the cheese in my shhmagle which is an honest mistake-no big deal. I brought it to the managers attention, she grabbed it out of my hand so rudely without even verbally acknowledging this mistake. She could've said "sorry" at the least. They thankfully made me a new sandwich but she was extremely rude and ungrateful. Seems she doesn't appreciate the business.
The food was decent (minus the wax paper accident) but the customer service is awful!!!

Is this the same Schmagel's Bagels that used to be in Pickwick Plaza many years ago in Jacksonville on San Jose Blvd? Also is there still a location on US 1? I want to come get some breakfast, but want to make sure I'm getting what I'm after

The best bagels! I truly love this place for a quick, casual breakfast! The herb cream cheese is out of this world! But really, anything you get is amazing! They've re done the inside and it looks wonderful!

This is our 5th trip to SA and we stumbled upon Schmagel's while walking down Hypolita Street. What a gem. I'm sitting here now on the covered patio, steps to St. George Street, watching the comings and goings of the area while listening to old standards like Frank Sinatra. The service is great and the owners are very friendly. My bagel with cream cheese, side of bacon and coffee topped out at $5.75, which is unheard of here! The bagel selections are good as are the cream cheese options and the bagels are made fresh! This is my 3rd day having breakfast here. I like it that much!

They were super fast & food was delicious. They were almost out of bagels at 10:30 on a Thursday so I d recommend going early. They re also very strict about Covid precautions.

Little pricey for a bagel breakfast sammich but it's sooo good!

One of my best meals in St. Augustine. I traveled to St. Augustine during the pandemic, so I was prepared for some things not being ideal but this was real treat. I got a bagel and lox. The bagel was perfect and delicious, and the staff welcoming and equipped to serve for this climate, and best of all they had lots of outdoor seating.

Wraps were very good and a good cup of coffee. Would have liked to see a few more breakfast choices on the menu. But very nice outdoor setting to eat.

Eaten here many times and the food and drink are always delicious. Nothing fancy and not expensive. Great place for the quick bite. They have a well stocked coffee/tea bar in back. Staff always accommodating.

Love sitting outside and watching the ppl go by. What I love most is that you don't feel like you're in a busy downtown tourist spot.

You will have to wait your turn cause the guy was workin alone BUT, So So worth It!!! He was so nice, made to order. Food was fantastic! I like that it was paws friendly . We didn't gave our dogs BUT, others did, sitting outside. Adorable little place. I recommend getting your schmagel on!

My sandwich was delicious, customer service not so much. Party of 5, yes you have to wait but orders after ours were delivered prior to ours. Asked to see if there was a confusion since we did order two the same, response... "everything has to cook". Won't be rerurning.

This is the only place I know that has olive cream cheese. I love it! We come here everytime we vacation in Saint Augustine.

I was so excited to see the bagel shop come to Montego Bay in late June. They started out fine when the manager/owner was around but now what a waste of space. In the past week I have had two experiences that spell trouble for this business. Last Sundaybthey were scheduled to open at 6:00 am. I arrived at 6:35 to get bagels for my family. The door was locked, the sign said closed and lights were out. Myself and another patron knocked on the door as we saw someone moving about inside and we were greeted with a yawning young blond girl stating the shop would not be open until 7. At 7 another young lady employee arrived and we asked why the store was not open her response was to shrug her shoulders and bang on the dorm to get inside. Finally at 7:05 they opened still with only a few bagels and coffee from the machine running all over the floor. I got my bagels and found the prices had also gone up 20 cents a bagel since the previous Saturday. I stated I hope you all make it here, but continued mess ups like this just will drive business away.
Today I went again to the bagel shop at Montego Bay and noted only a few bagels were left. When I placed my order nothing I wanted was available and I was told they were not making any more. Needless tonsaybI walked out. I just hope they hire bettter help and get their acts together or this bagel shop will be closed by the end of August. I hope management responds to this critique.

Ask excellent breakfast! My wife and I wanted a tasty meal on our St Augustine vacation. We walked tho The Bunnery and Maple Street Biscuits. Both of those places looked good, but a little pricey and not quite what we felt like eating.
We walked to Schmagel's and ate some bagel sandwiches. They were delicious! I had the sausage egg and cheese sandwich on a cheddar jack bagel. It was great. The fried egg was perfectly tender, the sausage was flavorful and hearty. The highlight, however, was the bagel. It was fresh toasted, tender inside and crispy outside. The cheese on the bagel was lightly caramelized. We got full for half the price we would have paid at the other places.

I personally love bagels and this place does this justice. They really pack their bagels and justify all their pricing with it. They are respecting covid guidelines pretty strictly which is something I really appreciate as well. There is nice outdoor seating and waiting for your order to be ready. An excellent bite to grab as you're walking around the city!

Sadly, bagels are not good. If you are looking for the frozen type experience, then yes. On the other hand, they are generous with the cheese, the staff is friendly and the locale is cute. If they owners(s) just get out to taste a good bagel someplace else, they will get it. I recommend a trip to a nearby Einstein bagels or similar store. When you get them right, please add Egg Bagels to the menu.

Awesome Breakfast Burritos and the best bagels around, they have the shmear!

Food was ok...not great. Our table had food on it and there was food on the wall. Staff wasn't very personable. For better food, service, and a better menu go to Everything Bagel...they are the best option by far.

Never even got to try it. They have their hours advertised as open until 2PM and were closed at 11:45AM.

Should have read reviews before coming. We really messed up by trying to order a sandwich, which really confused the guy. Especially when we wanted toppings. They didn't know how to make a pizza bagel (it's on their menu) and were out of the bagel we wanted. Prices on menu board were different than printed menu. The printed menu is a confusing, jumbled mess. The food we were able to order was adequate. All of these are forgivable, given that you aren't as cold and unfriendly as the staff.

I'm in love with the breakfast wrap & turkey club panini. All of the employees that work there are very friendly, super nice, and amazing! Schmagel's is a great breakfast shop.

Traveled here from daytona beach, one of the best bagels I have been able to find in florida so far! Ate a breakfast sandwhich with my wife and friend outside and ordered a bakers dozen bagels to go. I loved the personalized note in the bag! Thanks guys!

Im from NJ and most of the time I cannot find a decent bagel here in florida. BUT, The bagels here are delicious!! Just the right amount of chew and crunch. The variety of bagels will hit any taste and the cream cheese was a good compliment, many flavors for that also. The breakfast sandwiches are also a great choice, the sausage was very good, not a lot of fat or gristle; very meaty. The coffee was awesome and the coffee bar allowed you to sweeten and customize how you'd like. The service was quick and the staff were very polite and helpful. Beautiful outdoor seating. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Breakfast wrapped was amazing! Also definitely sharable.

My family was on a vacation in St. Augustine this week and there was a fierce debate on whether we should go to Schmagel's or Everything Bagel. We ultimately decided to go to Schmagel's at 10:30am on January 4th, and when we arrived at the location the gate was locked and the closed sign was up, showing that they would be back at 8am the next day. We double checked the hours and they said 7am-2pm. Unfortunate and disappointing show from Schmagel's.

ordered philly steak, was enjoying it until halfway through the sandwich I see a short black hair right in the middle, I go inside to ask for another, the cashier (which had a short black beard) doesn't even look up at me or apologizes, just says give us a few minutes. after going back to my table, I see ANOTHER tiny black hair on my sister's plate- I did't complain about that one because I didn't wanna make a huge deal, just wanted to eat a philly sandwich. after waiting outside for 10 mins, I go inside to see what is taking so long- they weren't even preparing my sandwhich!
I stood there waiting for an extra 15 mins right in front of the bearded cashier until finally everyone at my table was done with their food and I had to take it in a to go bag
WOULD NEVER COME BACK HERE TO EAT HAIR AGAIN.....

Waited in line for 35 minutes only to be told they were out of bagels for the day... at 10am. I get it s popular, but they should a better job of planning, especially during the busy season.

We are very grateful for the hospitality and fantastic service. My wife ordered an item and requested no sausage. When it came with sausage they kindly made an alternate item for the sake of time and gave us muffins in addition to our order for the mistake. We really enjoyed our bagel sandwiches and appreciate how they took care of us. Very tasty!

11:30 and the only bagels left are cinnamon raisin crunch. How can an advertised BAGEL shop have an hour and a half to go and no bagels?

Delicious bagels and the staff is so nice! Definitely get there early on the weekend because we were in line for a bit. But absolutely worth the wait!!

Cute little bagel shop, nice front garden area to eat in. So happy to be able to get a poppy seed bagel in Florida. We actually ordered the egg sandwich on bagels.

It was blatantly clear these people wanted someone to belittle and take their frustrations out on. They profiled me as a covid denier even tho I was clearly wearing a full facial covering. The Owner continues to lie about this fact In an attempt to discredit my review. He even went to far as to post pictures of me in the street before i put my facial covering on to enter the establishment. Despicable customer service. After posting this review the owner left me a fraudulent retaliation review on my bussiness page (which they have never attended) Blatantly lied about our interaction, manipulatively attempted to crop photos of me, and slandered my character.
After I posted this I had others reach out to me that have had a similar experience of being attacked for leaving an honest review of the poor experience. This kind of behavior is beyond unprofessional and unethical. Im pretty sure all you have to do is read this guys response to see his character. If I could post pictures here I could show how abusive this man has been to me and the facial covering that I was indeed wearing the entire interaction.

12 years ago, my then boyfriend and I took our first trip to St Augustine. First stop was breakfast at Schmagels Bagels and we have since made it our tradition every time we re in town again to stop by and eat an amazing breakfast together. My now husband and I love this little shop. It s the perfect little place and the food is amazing! We love spending our anniversary weekend here in St Augustine and love this little place even more! try the cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing!! It s to die for! They surprised us with an extra one for our anniversary. Good thing, because I may have eaten a whole one.

Schmagel s Bagels was hands down the BEST breakfast place ever!! Great atmosphere, bagels were the most fresh, and the workers were very nice and helpful. Visited St. Augustine and had to go twice because the bacon egg and cheese was amazing. Thank you for wonderful service and a great meal! I will be visiting again for sure!! :)

Had to try it out for the name. Bagels were good/cashier seemed like she would rather be just about anywhere else.

Great little bagel shop. They also have wraps etc. I had the bagel with lox and was very very happy. My dining partner had a cinnamon raisin bagel and loved it.

During the pandemic, all dining is outside which is great. They only allow two people in to order at a time. Make sure you bring your mask. The outdoor garden where we ate was lovely.

We will be coming back for sure.

Turkey club panini was delicious and the coffee was tasty. The prices were extremely reasonable for the area and the sandwiches did not skimp on the meat. The bagels are soft and chewy- exactly what I like in a bagel.

Microwaved egg barely warm with cold ham. Worst breakfast sandwich ever. I see why uber bagels line was out the door.

We ordered the bacon egg and cheese bagel on an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and it was to die for!! What an amazing way to start your day off! When ordering the staff was nice and friendly and coffee was yummy too! Highly recommend!

I can t believe this has 4 stars... Bagel was not fresh - one of those grocery store preserved types. Cheese was a fake Kraft individually wrapped cheese product. Coffee was heavily watered down and hours old. I would honestly rather have eaten from a gas station. I can t believe all of the good reviews on here! I say either fake or under new ownership perhaps...

We stopped in and ate there recently. We both got breakfast sandwiches. Everything was good. The Bagel was fresh, slightly chewy, and the toppings were on point. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Also, come early lines form quickly!

All that having been said, it was good, but not memorable. In other words, nothing to write home about. They have a very nice selection of bagles, and you won't regret grabbing a bite here. I've had a number of different breakfast sandwiches on various types of bread including Bagels and this was decent, maybe just a bit above average. I'm not saying don't go; I'm merely stating it's quite good, but not great.

Really good. Quiet spot with really good breakfast sandwiches. I had an everything bagel with egg, cheese, bacon, and cream cheese. I could taste that the bagel and all the ingredients were fresh. I will definitely be back.

Y'all, you definitely need to come here if you love bagels, great service, and covid protocol being properly handled. If you're adventurous try the ghost pepper cheese on your sandwich (very good; very spicy) and wash it down with the Kyoto cold brew. The lady at the counter was beyond sweet and helpful, she even threw in some chocolate chip cookies.

Schmagels is a great place to grab a quick bite- their sandwiches are all unique on fresh bagels with a variety of options (they ll customize anything).
A downside is they only have drip coffee and it s not very good.

These guys make some killer breakfast burritos and their bagel options are pretty awesome. Not to many seats inside the place but there is an outside patio with extra seating.

Our sausage egg and cheese Bagel was good, besides using precook sausage links. :/ They ran out if everything bagels right after we got ours. They messed up an order before us and did not correct it because the lack of the everything bagels. They did not offer her anything else. This customer was mad.
We wanted a side of butter they gave me a little and said they were running out and my husband asked for mayo and was rudely asked by the cook if he wanted anything else.
That's why just a 3 start rating.

The bagels were good. I had heard a lot of people talk the place up, but I am only giving it 3 stars because the day we visited the soda machine wasn't working and the place was HOT as in A/C problems. It also looked like while they probably clean the place every night it could probably use a good, deep cleaning.

Ordered a green salad and a bagel. Very good. Fond a table to my self in the back. Get here early before lunch rush.

Wow! Not only were the bagels so scrumptious, but the service was exceptional. Them not knowing it was our one year anniversary... surprise us with complimentary bagels to go! If you re looking for delicious breakfast or lunch to go, this is the place! Thank you guys for loving on my husband and I and serving us so well! Definitely coming back
