The food was not only bad, but also overpriced at 27 for a schnitzel.
It's better to eat sensibly at the Opera Square and ultimately pay less.

Nice view over the Rheingau to RLP. Fine dining restaurant
One of my favorite destinations, also with guests from abroad. Enchanting view of the Rhine, beautiful vineyards, beautiful weekend events, good food and drink in the immediate vicinity or after a hike through the vineyards. And don't forget to visit the ancient Romanesque basilica!
Beautiful posh place with stunning views over the Rheingau.
I love Germany an ideal example of how the world should look good there are things that need to be fixed
Great location with an incredible view. The food was ok, but a bit expensive.
Anyone who does not come here for "eating and drinking", but for the beauty of the castle itself ..... who comes when it is quiet and calm, when the consuming tourist has gone with his wine boxes, experiences real pleasure !! !!!!!
And definitely go to the chapel, it's worth it!
Therefore and only for this reason: See you soon, Prince Metternich!
A very beautiful place with a historical background, which you should take a look at and let yourself be absorbed. The view over the Rhine Valley is also very worth seeing.
The place, the view perfect. We were there on Thursday the 28th
June 2018 with Manfred Man's Earth Band as part of the Music Festival Rheingau there
Wine prices are fer usury
But Fas has nothing to do with the event, they are always so salted.
Nice walk on the Labonte Weg, with a great view of Oestrich-Winkel. Pure relaxation in the basilica.
Very good location and friendly service. Always happy to stay there.
Beautiful castle with fantastic views and wine poetry
The way to the Schloss Johannisberg winery is already worthwhile for the view of the vines leading to the Rhine. Except for the outer pavilions, the castle is a reconstruction from the 1950s / 60s. The service during the tasting was great, but you have to honestly say that the wines - especially in comparison to other well-known winemakers in the Rheingau - are a bit very overpriced, which is probably due to the name. So price-performance ratio is better.
very nice view of the rhine valley, well-kept filing
Unfortunately, it was not so bad for such a big place
Great location, but poor service in the outdoor area
This place is fantastic. The views over the Rhine river are spectacular. The service is very attentive and friendly. I've been there many times and have always loved the food. The wine choices are also very good. The place is not cheap, but the quality of food and service are worth the price. I definitively recommend this place!
A beautiful castle in a beautiful setting near the river Rhine
Beautiful castle with a fantastic view of the Rhine Valley and Rheingau. Good restaurant, the view is also reflected in the prices.
Even you cannot visit the castle, the surrounding is wonderful: you can see the Rhine valley and the vineyards. You can taste and buy some bottles of wine.
Very beautiful place. Great food and amazing wines. I highly recommend the whole area.
Beautiful and really great. Wonderful view over the Rheingau and wonderful seating with a great wine tasting stand. It was a pleasure
Nice castle with the possibility to drink great wine outside and take wine home with you in the shop next door. The view is great, the people working there are nice and the castle itself is definitely worth a visit.
Beautifully located, very good kitchen, very nice staff
Food is really good, the view from the porch is awesome (a little bit noisy though). Not really cheap.
Wonderful terrace where you can observe the vineyards
Pretty place located above the Rhine, small service in the courtyard, not cheap. You can go for a walk in the vineyards.
Great atmosphere, great staff, great wines, we were not so enthusiastic about the food. Since we had much better in the Rheingau at cheaper prices.
Pretty views of the vineyards and great tasting area. Wish we had been there on a day when tours were running.
Great food, great wines. Not very cheap but highly recommended! Perhaps the best view in the whole Rheingau.
Nice view of the vines and the Rhine. Definitely worth seeing!
Something apart
Very pretty
Very nice surroundings, but unfortunately very unfriendly staff, although a bottle of wine from Schloss Johannesberg was bought, it could not be consumed there ... anyone who buys food and drink directly from glasses is only welcome ... will never again get wine from Johannesberg Castle buy ... after rude experience ... used to do a lot of advertising. Will clearly distance myself from it!
Johannisberg Castle is a nice destination. Magnificent views of the entire region. The restaurant is great. Delicious food and great service. Card payment only from 20
Do not eat there, eat would be returned by several guests, even kitchens, 1 star for the view
great location. Especially for the Rheingau Music Festival, absolutely great. But otherwise very beautiful.
Nice castle and really good views. But someone snaps in the wine shop.
Very nice atmosphere! Competent and nice staff! A unique view of the Rhine and the vines are guaranteed!
Nice view, good food, wine shop ... wine tasting and a walk is also nice.
Beautiful well maintained complex with a beautiful view! There is also a farm shop where you can stock up on the products of Prince Metternich. The castle as well as the church are worth a visit and you should plan on the one to two hours.
The view is beautiful, but the wines in itself are pretty expensive.
Historical place, nice to look at, but I was there to vote for the Rheingau Wine Queen and would not visit the castle again with this organizer
Wonderful music in a perfect setting for enjoying the arts and wines
What a place. The Rheingau lies at the visitors' feet. Served are fine wines and quality food. Truly princely. Unforgettable evenings are guaranteed as well as pampering for the palate. I'm looking forward to the next time.
A small flaw, however, I have to note: the New Year's Eve menu 2018th There was a super motivated and lovely team and a very professional DJ. In addition wine came at the usual high level. However, individual courses of the menu were far below the usual level. The dessert even looked like Convinence. That was a good average for a house of this reputation is too little. And nevertheless. I still stay with the 5 stars.
Good Riesling and great views of the Rheingau and the Rhine. We were here at an event and can say both the wine and the location worth a visit!
Great location for an open air concert at the Rheingau Festival. #Hooters
A beautiful property
.. on the back a view ... that makes the hike through the Rheingau special
Magnificent setting!
Wonderful view!
Romantic view, delicious wine assortment, coffee cake time
This was the goal of the legendary late harvest rider: Johannisberg Castle near Geisenheim in the Rheingau. Wine has been grown here since 817, and Riesling has dominated for around 300 years. This makes the winery a monumental memory for the spread of Riesling.
In the 1930 Weinbaulexikon on the subject of Riesling it is briefly and succinctly noted: Home: Germany. Probably a seedling from the Rheingau. One thing is definitely true: Johannisberg Castle is a gigantic treasure trove of Riesling and a refuge for wine culture.
Beautiful and well maintained. Not open for guests.
It was pretty nice, probably geared towards larger groups. Although I saw a lot of cyclist sampling the wine I could see this being an ideal location for a corporate function.
Fantastic nice view is not to describe wine shop but it is very expensive
A beautifully situated castle on a hill ...
With a view over the Rhine ...
In front of it is an old monastery.
Everything for a short stay
On a warm spring evening we were sitting very nicely in the winter garden by the open window. The view of the Rhine Valley is fantastic, the food was very good, the waiter attentive and friendly, overall very recommendable!
Tip: Sunday evening is not as busy as usual, because it can sometimes be very busy.
Well, all okey. It's good for a short trip. What I can really praise is the goose bratwurst. lecker.
Very beautiful schloss with fantastic views of the Rhine and surrounding valley. There's a restaurant, wine shop, and wine stand on site along with trails to walk the grounds. Great place to relax and enjoy a glass or a bottle with (or perhaps without) friends.
Before the enemy takeover, the service and Environ was much better
A vineyard spreads under the eyes, and the Rhine is far away. Wine and food are delicious. I got a taxi from the hotel in front of the station and went there.
Beautiful, well-kept historic property with great views of the Rhine and the vineyards. For a walk in the sun. Good access and parking are free. I really liked the church.
There is a beautiful view from the terrace of the vineyards and Rhine Ren
Nice facility. Wonderful concert on the occasion of the RMF.
Very well-kept winery with a lot of tradition. The wines are available for everyone and in all price categories. Even if you just want to have a nice day with the family, there is a lot to see, to experience and to discover.
Very nice castle, very well maintained, here you can go for a walk
