My family likes this place, although I haven't been here personally

It's a nice liquor store, with plenty of very expensive and interesting Liquors along with wines, Etc. Nice customer service and seems like a nice place to visit if you need a bottle. I came here for a bottle of high West yippee ki-yay Bourbon, and they gladly carry it...

Schaefer's is the best place on the north shore for liquor and wine. Their selection is second to none. Also if there's a particular bottle you're looking for, they can order it for you.

Schaefer's is an excellent wine store, with a marvelous deli. Jackie, and other staff are always helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Great place to shop.

A quaint little place old charm The Establishment has been there for decades learn some history about it today also I able to work there for seasonal position so I kind of like the place seems like this family oriented but it's a very good place to be I like it

Why I love this dollar store over any other dollar store, well it has liquor! All kinds, any size, all brands.

After passing it for years, one day I stopped by. WOW! This is a great wine shop. Probably the best in the Chicago area. They also carry sprits and everything you need to host a party. This store is a gem. I hope they do Bacon Fest again. And be sure to check out the warehouse sale. It usually in February. I like to buy a couple of cases of summer wine to remind myself it will be summer again.

If you are looking for good beer and wine this is for sure your place. Just check their website before go and find out some tasting events that occurs every week in some units.

Such a great way to host an event with Schaefer's providing the alcohol and then picking up and reimbursing you for the unopened bottles. I wish I could've used them for my wedding but it was a destination wedding. I ended up using them for a baby shower I had at The Grove Redfield Estate. They are so professional and convenient; they dropoff and pickup the items, just need to call 2 weeks prior to the event to make the alcohol selections.

Probably my favorite place to shop for wine. The staff there is friendly and knowledgeable, willing to make suggestions. The selection is excellent, with plenty of well-choosen domestic wines and a wide swath of quality European wines as well. Lots of other great food and drink offerings -- and a deli, all of which is wonderful too, but I come for the wine. A great local shop worth supporting.

Schaefer's has long been a great place not just for wine, but for their unique selection of special dips, spreads, cheeses, crackers, etc. Our most recent purchases over the holidays included Leslee's chicken liver mousse (sweet, smooth, ethereal), their house-made parmesan and artichoke spread (my personal favorite), and the herbed goat cheese, balanced and yummy. We also grabbed some hard-to-find crackers, a bottle of a New Mexico winery bubbly and were good to go. We didn't, though, because it was then that we wandered around, tasting the yummy sample foodie options, looking in the freezer for interesting soups, checked out all of the other foodstuffs from chips to ice cream toppings and THEN we were ready to leave. We love that place--plus, the folks who work there are totally brilliant about wine and will give you wonderful support around choosing the right wine for food, occasion or gifting...and in the right price range, too. Schaefer's provided the wines for our wedding nearly 27 years ago, so I have had great experiences there for a long time.

It's a great place ham salad is top notch but it's Super over priced. 1 large soup is $10. But I am sure it's great.

Fantastic selection and customer service. We used them to supply all of the beer and wine for our wedding. They include glasses to rent free of charge which was a huge savings to us. The manager Dan spent time with us in the store and was very responsive to our emails. I highly recommend this neighborhood gem!

We have been going to Shaefer s forever. We used to live nearby and go on Saturdays for wine tastings. It's where we learned what we like in wine. The staff is amazing and the fine food is really very fine. They do amazing gift wrap as well. If you have a chance, the warehouse sale is the most fun you will have crammed in a small liquor warehouse. Wine samples with popcorn and half-drunk strangers it's even more fun than that sounds. It's like a mini party! GO

Excellent center for fine wines, beers, and spirits with extremely knowledgable and friendly staff ready to assist the uninitiated customer. A great assembly of fine cheeses, crackers, mixers, and other foods are available, too. In a world of shrinking specificity, Schaefer's maintains its very particular place in the pantheon of fine liquor shops and has become a local institution in an area once known for its temperance movement.

I don't know why I went to the store. Their selection is similar to a well stocked grocery or drug store, the service is lousy, and the posted prices are dishonest - without joining their frequent boozer club, you pay more than shown. I'm done. Never going back

Great selection of adult beverages and can't beat the cheese choices. Several people were purchasing gift baskets for Christmas with a custom selection and boxing.
