SC Internal Medicine Review

Dr. Ben Levinson is the very best. He listens, he is concerned about my concerns and he takes excellent care of his patients. Their new offices are great and easy to find. Enjoy the experience. Be sure to request him. I don't know any of the other doctors. Can only tell you how great he is! The staff is friendly and very nice as well. No complaints here at all. Both my husband and I go to him. Nice.

Wait time was very short, . all the staff was very friendly. Dr Guriam was informative, caring and kind. I feel I made the right choice in SC internal Medicine and Rehab.

My appointment was on time and my physician was very attentive. It's nice to be able to go to one of the few privately owned practices left and support small business owners.

The team up front is very efficient but my biggest thanks is for Stephanie Gunn. Ive been seeing the same doctor for 2 years and was seriously considering changing until i was blessed to have an appointment with Stephanie. She is kind caring and actually engages with me. I felt like a real person and that she wanted to help, unlike my "regular" doctor and his team - who make me feel like an inconvenience. I have many life long conditions that need regular care, it's important to me to feel like my provider is invested. Stephanie Gunn is such a person!

SC Internal Medicine Associates has a very friendly staff. My annual visit with Sean Fuller was as always good. Can't say enough about how thorough he is. The nurses are kind and knowledgeable as well. I feel I am in good hands.
You can see easily that he cares. I highly recommend Dr. Sean Fuller and his staff to anyone. Thank you all.

Dr Ben Levinson and his team are wonderful! They are always so professional and courtesy and try their best to address my health issues even when they're scratching their head trying to figure it out. Love my doctor!

Dr Levinson has been my doctor for 15 plus years. During this time he and his staff have successfully helped me through some difficult times. I could continue with positive comments but I won t. The bottom line is I wouldn t trust anyone else with my healthcare. My trust extends to his staff and the specialists he has referred me to.

Friendly staff and PROVIDERS THAT REALLY CARE! I have never waited more than 10-15 minutes to get into my appointments, never had any billing issues with my insurance company. I drive there from Lexington/Red Bank because it s worth it.

I have chronic Lyme disease and was referred to SC Internal medicine, to see an internist, for general health (I have an extremely weakened immune system) and for organ function tests as my disease can become terminal. Everytime I went to see Dr. Robert's, who is not an internist by the way, he skipped through my appointments quickly and when I would go to check out, he had not ordered the organ function tests or anything else we spoke about. I last saw him July 10th, 2019, they worked me in bc I was too sick to make it to an appointment that I made in June to go over bloodwork that I was supposed to fast for but was NOT told and results from an abdominal ultrasound that showed my liver is TWICE the size it is supposed to be and that I have NAFLD non alcoholic fatty liver disease. I was never called or asked to come in to get these results. When I finally reached his assistant she said "Your liver is fatty. Lose weight." I am 40 lbs over my recommended weight. When I saw the doctor last he was supposed to refill my heart medicine and give me new orders for the blood test I am supposed to fast for. He did not do these things. On July 19th I received a call from their office and had a voicemail that I could pick up my bloodwork orders from the front desk and she would only call in a one month supply of my heart medicine. None of this was done. Now they are saying I haven't seen Dr. Robert's since January of this year (I have seen him 4 times) and since "I cancel more appointments than I come to" he WILL NOT CALL IN MY HEART MEDICINE UNTIL I SEE HIM!!! They say I didn't make 3 appointments that I paid a $45 co-pay for each time and this man is willing to allow me to go without heart medicine until I come in to see him for an appointment I apparantly made for August 2nd, 2019. I did not make an appointment and he is going to punish me by not prescribing me a medicine I need and have been taking 18 years. I actually give them 0 stars and does anyone know how I can get refunded for co-pays I made during appointments where apparantly I was invisible for the day because SC Internal Medicine says I wasn't there.

Change me 149.00 just to meet a doctor for the first time nothing else, I'm thinking 2 to go back agen at all

I'm highly shocked to stumble across SC Internal Medicine and Associates and find such a low score!!! It just about offends me because of how much I truly love and respect everyone there that I've come across. But thankfuly I'm not one that's so easily offended, I'll just add my own review!
I've been coming here for the last few years and I can honestly say that I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for Dr Levinson and his team. The staff have all treated me Extremely well and go above and beyond to help in any way they can.
Now, of course there's been occasions that I held on the phone a little too long but really!? That's what happens at doctor offices when they are busy. If you're that impatient then just hang up and try back. It won't be busy for that long.
And I've been to the lab where you'll find the ladies cutting up and sometimes it seems they are just having a little party back there but think of it this way. Wouldn't you rather them be happy when they take your blood or do whatever it is you need done? I sure as heck do! I try to cut up with them! It's all about how you react to those situations that make them pleasant or not and I choose to be happy! That way we all have a great day!!
The people in radiation have always been Very polite and helpful. There's nowhere I'd rather go than here for any test, period. They deserve five stars just for that department!! Thank you for the friendly care that you extend to everyone who walks through your doors!
And finally, my doctor and his nurses. Dr Levinson IS the Best doctor I've ever seen. He has great bedside manner, he's got a sense of humor and most importantly he's brilliant! I've seen way too many doctors for my age and he is by far the best one. He will do whatever it takes to make sure you get a diagnosis and he treats people with respect and dignity. His nurses are the best ever also! Yolanda and Michelle also go above and beyond and will do anything they can to make you feel comfortable and just help with everything!
As with anything in life there are rules and if we follow the rules then we have much better results than if you don't. So be respectful and you'll be treated with respect!
Bottom line is that This is The Only place I recommend finding a doctor at! I wouldn't go anywhere else if someone paid me!! I know I'm in great hands no matter which department I need to go to here! If I could give more than five stars I would!

I have been a patient of Dr. Vijay Koli for more than 15 years. He and the staff at SC Internal Medicine provide excellent care, in a thorough and compassionate manner. They are promptly responsive to my voicemails and go above and beyond from scheduling appointments to managing prescription refills, and everything else to provide the highest quality experience in every interaction. I've been with them about seven years and I love my NP and medical assistant now. But the inconsistencies over all these years have just worn me completely out. All of this combined with now how very, very rude the front window staff is makes you want to throw in the towel. But I'm not a well person and changing doctors at this stage makes no sense. I can live with the back but they have to get there front desk staff under control. Most of them are just mean.

I was very happy with my experience at the SC Internal Medicine blood draw for my medical doctor appointment. Service was on time, quickly administered, and I was out of there. Total time from my house to SC Internal to my house was less than 45 minutes. I know it doesn't go that way all the time, but my experience was great. And the nurse was interactive and interesting and professional.

Dr. Fuller is an outstanding primary care physician. He is never too busy for any questions and just to chat. SC Internal Medicine is an outstanding medical center with great client service and friendly staff.

Saw NP Strange. She listened and helped me walk through a couple of treatment options. Knowledgeable, thorough and caring!

In 13 years, I have never had a negative thought about this office. Everyone is kind,patient, understanding, efficient and excellent at their job. There is little to no wait time. Dr. Gabriel is a wonderful, comforting and thorough professional. I have recently seen PA-C Lisa Myrick and had an excellent experience with her as well. I highly recommend this practice.

Very clean and friendly establishment nurses and doctors are Amazing. Very attentive to yours needs. Highly recommend.

There have been many times that I call and am asked to hold and left on hold. I have to call back to get assistance. I call in and cannot get a call back when I complained I was told I didn t get a call back because my concern was about a prescription refill. My mom and I are patients here and I have had to raise sand to get her prescription refilled after coming in two weeks prior or have to call back the next day because the prescription wasn t called in. I haven t seen my doctor in two years only the NP. My mom is terminally ill and I have to have fml paperwork to protect my job. Stephanie Gun wants to charge $80 for the paperwork and it has to be paid in cash to her and you cannot use a flex account. I asked why and was told it was to deter people from getting it because it s a lot of paperwork and people complain too much. My main complaint is about prescriptions, these people are so money hungry and have no regards for their patients. I started looking for a different dr and had to get my allergy meds refilled when I got there Jennifer Britt told me that after Augy13th it was in my file that I was no longer a patient! She gave me a 30 day supply and that was it. They WILL NOT GET ANOTHER DIME OF MY FAMILIES MONEY!

I travel fifty two miles to SC Internal Medicine because with epilepsy and diabetes I have seen a lot of medical professionals and Jennifer Britt is the first one I have ever met that actually listens to her patients. The rest of the staff there is polite, professional and fun, it feels like I m visiting old friends instead of being herded through a medical facility. I know that sounds extreme but nurse Ratchet s character was based off of some real medical professionals that I have encountered other places. This is the only place I have ever been that makes me feel like I have The right to participate in my own healthcare and as long as they keep that up, I will only go somewhere else if they refer me.

Recently moved back to South Carolina and need to find a primary health care provider. After much research found Dr. Guram. He was given top rating so we decided to select him . We are very pleased with Dr. Guram. He is a professional young man who takes the time to discuss any issues you maybe experiencing. Highly recommend his service.

This is a great group of doctors and they have a caring staff too. I have seen Dr. Levinson for years. He is a great doctor. I consider him the J. Edgar of doctor s. If you have an unknown problem, he will do whatever it takes to find a diagnosis. He listens to his patients. He spends time with his patients and he never seems to be on a time frame, like most doctors do during a visit. When my husband was diagnosed with a terminal illness , Dr Levinson used his own time researching for treatment for my husband. All I can say is, my experiences with this practice has been great. I wouldn t go anywhere else. They are all very caring, knowledgeable and compassionate.

Great doctors, Per Physician and other specialties, now in a new building, the Irmo Wellness Center on Woodrow, very close to the previous location.

I had an appointment with Dr. Mandev Guram. He was the most personable and kind doctor I've been to. Made me feel comfortable as a new patient! 10/10 would recommend to anyone, especially young patients since he was younger :)

Horrible experience and will never be back. The receptionist was rude and took forever to get to me. I then spent the next 2.5 hours in the office to talk to a doctor for maybe 5 minutes. The doctor walked in, told me what was going to be prescribed and left never to be seen again. Would never go back and would never recommend anyone go there.

Very accommodating for sick appointments. Wait time is usually less than 15 min and the staff is courteous and efficient. We are so pleased with Dr. Robert's. Our whole family is seen by this practice.

My team of doctor and PA's are great. They make sure my issues are resolved any way possible. Here they make me feel like I am a human and not a limitted appt or meal ticket. I can get a same day appointment and I love it here. The have never had to see my crazy side because they are always on point.

I have been to other doctors who only guess at what my issues are and have me running back and forth taking my money. But not Internal Medicine, they have everything you need at this place. They are quick to hear my concerns and move immediately to find out my issues and want to get a resolution.

I must say, they do care!!!

All I can say is WOW; I am a U.S. Army Veteran and was being seen by VA Doctor until I decided enough - I need to switch into the Civilian commercial side which my pure right as a U.S. Veteran and WOW night and day, my Doctor Mandev Guram was way above what I expected, He was extremely professional and understanding to all my areas I needed attention on and is taking care of my immediate needs... I am Soooo Happy I switched not on to Civilian Care but apparently have selected the right Doctor office/ care.

I have had excellent care from this group. Dr. LEVINSON is a thorough and excellent physician. I have never had any problems with the front desk. They are polite and to the point.

Regular check up, in and out easily. Felt very comfortable with the Covid precautions that they had in place.

Had my first visit yesterday and was nervous but it was a great experience all around!

Have been seeing Dr. Gabriel for many years and he is wonderful; always concerned, listens, is very kind, knowledgeable and explains his thoughts to substantiate his diagnosis. I have complete confidence in his care. Can t say thank you enough for the excellent care provided as my husband went through his illness. Love all of the staff there! This is a first class organization. My primary physician is Dr S Gurham. He is careful and thorough. You can t ask for more.

South Carolina Internal Medicine has been my primary care provider for about 10 years. I've loved their service and how much they care about you. Recently, there's been a big push in medicine for doctors to take time with their patients in order to really treat them. My provider has been Rachel Strange, and she's been amazing. I'd be shocked if she wasn't one of the first people who took that initiative. I can't recommend SCIM more.

I give 5 stars strictly relating to my care given by NP Catie Thomas. I saw her while my other primary care doctor was out on leave and decided to switch indefinitely because she is that wonderful. She is so compassionate, kind, really cares about your health and concerns, and more importantly treats you as if you were her friend or family.

The practice as a whole is good, you will have to wait most of the time after your appointment time before going to the back but honestly, I ve never been in a doctors office before where you didn t have to wait. It s a new building so everything is clean and decorated very well.

I've been a patient 15 years. Every time I have an appointment I think about trying to get another provider. They seem much more interested in having you pay your bill than they are in building a relationship. I feel like I have a good visit and then I read the notes on the Patient Portal and realize they have worded everything negatively so as to not get sued - CYA). I have never gotten through on the phone, and when I've left messages I don't get a call back usually. If I had serious issues it would matter more than it does to me.

I have been a patient at SC Internal Medicine for a number of years. Dr. Gabriel is the most caring and companionate doctor I have ever known. The staff is always helpful and caring. I am very happy with the care I receive and I feel fortunate to be a patient at SC Internal Medicine.

Very efficient visit. I was in and out within 25 minutes for my blood work consultation.

My family has seen about 5 of the drs in this group and have been pleased which each of them. Everyone there is courteous and professional.

Once I arrived at the right location (as I had not been informed of the move) I found the facilities very nice, the lab did a speedy and painless task of drawing blood and I was on my way within minutes, I also liked the new sign in kiosk.

I've been going here for several years now. I've had a good experience. It's very conveniently located and has a lab in the same building. I've always been able to be seen the same day if needed. The physician I see twice yearly is excellent (Dr. Roberts.)

I have never had a physician who truly listens to me the way Dr. Mandev Guram does! He is very sensible, calm and empathetic. The entire staff has been absolutely wonderful and patient with me at every visit. So happy to have found SCIM!

While I love my doctor, it is impossible to get to Dr Levinson without an appointment unless you re willing to wait at least a month usually longer. Calls made to his nurse is a waste of time. She never returns calls or emails. Immediate attention is out of the question unless you want to see an assistant. It s too bad to be such an excellent doctor that you never can see

The new building is very nice! On this particular day the computers were down and everyone had to wait a extended time for service. Being in the service field for years I know how these situation are and they staff handled everything very professional .

Dr. Fuller @ SC internal Medicine has my family's GP for the past 20 years and there's a reason, not only does he know his stuff, he listens and takes time with his patients instead of just rushing into the room in a white coated blur, spouting a lot of impressive 16 letter words and rushing out again.
My experience with the other partners have been very similar, they take the time to know their patients and it's not about the revolving door called 'billable hours' like other health care providers. I ALWAYS recommend Dr. Fuller and this practice to my friends and I have yet to hear back about a bad experience.

DO NOT COME HERE. My experience wasn't good from day 1. The doctor was 45 mins late. The nurse wasn't set up for the correct exam even though I told them what I wanted to make the appt for. No one called to go over test results; I had to call. When I finally did call, whoever I spoke to on the phone was literally putting me on hold ever minute to ask the NP I saw the questions I was asking. When I asked if I could email the NP directly I was told no and that I needed to make an appt to talk to her.

I was also told that I didn't have a syndrome anymore I was diagnosed with and had confirmed by several other doctors. I moved here from out of state and so I reached out to my doctor from my home state. She actually called me directly on the phone and talked me through the things they were missing. I did mention everything to the NP here but it seems she wasn't listening. My doctor from my home state is allowing me to email test results so she can review. When I called to get my test results mailed to me, I made several comments about not being happyand not coming back and they were glossed over.

Every time I've called I mentioned my dissatisfaction with my experience and every time the comments are glossed over with no follow up questions about my dissatisfaction. After I found out I would have to make an appt to ask questions, I called back to cancel all open follow up appts. I had two and cancelled them at the same time. No questions asked as to why they were cancelled.

I had a referral to a doctor outside of this office. One feature I *thought* was nice was that they had a department/group that worked to help you get the referral appt lined up. The woman told me she would make first contact to the one we chose (she sent the fax right in front of me) and that they should reach out to me directly but that she would also keep up with them to make sure they did. A month later and I haven't heard from her or the referred doctor. Don't even waste your time going here.

If only one of these issues happened, no big deal. I can't believe this was the experience I had and on my very first (and last) visit with this office.

I also don't like that you have to pay upfront. I am used to getting a bill in the mail after it's been submitted to my insurance. There was also confusion on that and if it applied to me or not. The left doesn't seen to know what the right is doing.

Each time I've gone I feel like I'm heard and communication occurs. Questions get answered, never felt like just another patient, always seen pretty quick....yet never feel rushed to get in an out

I love Dr. Fuller. He never rushes through my visit and I have a lot of problems. Some of which can't be treated without complicating another comorbidity. The staff has always been kind and seem to genuinely care about my health and trying to help me overcome my problems.

I had a 2:30 appointment and was called back to see the doctor at 4:30. As I saw many other people arrived after me and go in before me. I asked what is the front desk what is the hold up. I was told each provider has there rooms and that provider room is full. As the hours when by the front desk called back and then was told a room is being cleaned. When I finally went back the provider states she didn't know I was out front so they saw other appointments. I truly don't see this as being my provider in the long haul.

Love this place. Runs like clockwork and everyone is super nice and professional.

Great experience. Took my son to see Doctor Lisa Myrick she was amazing. Everyone there was very nice and helpful.

The patient portal is useless, and calling them is a nightmare. After answering the phone, they immediately put you on hold for at least 10-15 minutes. I have changed my provider from this office. I needed refills on medications that I have been steadily taking for well over a year that one of the NPs would not provide because I haven t seen her since February. She has been on maternity leave until very recently, and I wasn t comfortable coming into the office because of the uncertainty of COVID just for refills of medications that I have been taking since before I started seeing her. Not to mention I ve been working long distance since March. I was told I would have to make an appointment just to get refills. I felt that they could have made the exception this one time, considering I had an appointment next month! I d rather not see a provider that values a dollar more than a patients health.

I've relocated to Charlotte NC but still keep this practice as my PCP. I love Dr. Fuller and NP Gunn. The staff are accommodating for my needs.

They were great as always dock was great always couldn't ask for better service dr Levinson and his stuff is great I know it takes a long time to get a appointments with him but if you want the best you'll wait or see dr Robert's are wait for doc levingson

I am very happy. The wait time is minimal in the very comfortable waiting area. Every person I have had contact with was pleasant and capable. My doctor reviewed my lab work and answered all the questions I'd left with him at the previous visit. He offered possible solutions to a minor problem I've had for awhile. I am very satisfied with every aspect of this experience. VERY satisfied.

Been a patient of theirs for better than 20 years and 3 buildings (but only 1 great Doctor (Dr. Levinson). I call him the "Quarterback of my Health Care"! At a VA Rating of 100% Total and Permanent Disabled + SMC-S for greater than 60% more, he's been with me for every step of the way. Great Place!

S.C. Internal Medicine has pretty much become a one stop shop for my medical/health needs over the years, thanks to Dr. Surb Guram and his personable, professional staff. I d highly recommend S.C. Internal Medicine to anyone.

The providers and service at SC Internal Medicine is the best! I have had a wonderful experience with multiple providers, they are thorough and take care of you.

I have been very satisfied with S.C. Internal Medicine, especially with Dr. Roberts. He is genuinely concerned about his patients and it shows every time you visit. When he sees you it's as though you become his only patient, addressing your concerns with out any hint of being in a hurry. He is the best Doctor I've ever had. S.C.I.M. isn't in my network, but I choose to pay extra because Dr. Roberts is that good.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gabriel's for about 10 years. He is far and away the best internist I've ever had. He talks to you and explains things without dumbing it down to you. The secret to be seen on time is to not be late for your appointment. They respect you and your need to be seen in a timely manner. I've always found the front office personnel to be polite, friendly, and efficient. When I've had an emergency, I've been able to be seen by an excellent nurse practitioner right away. In my 79 years I've seen lots of family doctors and I say that this family doctor and his organization are the best I've ever seen.

I've only been to the office one time but was met with people who actually care about you and a doctor who actually acted like no matter how many problems I have I was important to him.

Love everything about this group, from our primary physician, to the weight clinic, to the walk-in clinic staff, and all the office personnell. Everyone is friendly and knowledgable.

Have called 6 times this week to try to get an explanation for a prescription, no answer so far have had 4 people say that they would call me before end of day

After moving from Atlanta I wanted very much to find a primary care physician who worked outside of a hospital setting.
In my experience hospitals are to difficult to work with and SC Internal Medicine Associates provided the very setting I hoped to find.
Dr. Smith is my provider and he has been great.
I had to come in one morning without an appointment and the staff very graciously worked me onto Dr. Smiths schedule.

Pleasant, clean office and exam rooms. Staff are professional, cheerful, helpful and considerate. Our doctor was warm, welcoming, attentive to our concerns and needs, knowledgeable and intuitive. All of our physical issues were addressed as were any mental and emotional matters. We consider ourselves blessed to be served by such a wonderful group of dedicated medical professionals.

Wait times are minimal, office staff is very knowledgeable about insurance and billing. The nurses are personable and efficient. On Friday, 10/11/2019, I underwent an Ultrasound to help diagnose a problem I recently developed. The technician was very professional and comforting throughout the procedure.

I love SCIM. For all the years I have been coming here I have always felt cared for. And never given anything more than needed. This is a great place to have for wellness!

I have been going to SCIM for 14 years and I really like the doctor I see there! Dr Fuller takes the time to really listen to what you have to say and makes you an integral part of the decision making when it comes to your treatment and care! Wait time is usually minimal there! My husband is a patient there and so are a lot of other family members! You really can't ask for a better physicians office to go to!

Dr. Gabriel has been my doctor for many years, and I would highly recommend him to anyone. He is a very compassionate doctor and I completely trust him. Everyone who works at SCIM is very friendly and helpful and now they have a brand new facility conveniently located in Irmo.

My first visit, and only so far, was very happy to have Dr. Douglas spend at least half an hour going over previous results and explaining his approach to HRT. At 70, I am still experiencing severe hot flashes if I go off estradiol, but troublesome endometrial thickening is occurring. Dr. Douglas was recommended to me by another patient with similar issues and who was also dissatisfied with the conventional approach to HRT administration and testing.
This practice has recently moved to the new Irmo Wellness Center so the physical plant is new. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is also a Quest blood drawing station in the building which makes filling test order very convenient.

Outstanding staff and Dr. Guram is a caring individual who is extremely competent
