SC Department of Employment and Workforce Reviews

They took money from my State taxes stated I owed money on weeks that I was not qualified for in 2009 and when I called they said it was for 2014. I told the representative that if unemployment made the mistake of paying me, WHY did you not stop it after the first week.. When I asked to send me the information they sent it to an old address and I never received it. I have been asking to speak to a supervisor and have not received a call yet. Unemployment needs to take responsibility for the mistake they made. There has got to be a law for when they make a mistake!

Everytime I have called I always get told that they ll have to talk to their supervisor and call me back (which I never get a callback). They haven t actually tried to assist me. I called again today and talked with Joy, she assisted me and actually helped me with my problem instead of transferring me or telling me she ll call back. Joy was on the phone with me for over an hour helping me with everything. Thank you Joy for actually assisting me not brushing me off like everyone else!

When I have called in for assistance I have received a recorded telling me that I would receive a call back that day, but never have got call back, 2 weeks straight this has gone on... when I attempt to file in line error occurs and I cant complete....

They told me a bold FACE lye said that they had put me in for an appeal..called back one WEek later a the lady told me i have to send an email then she wouldn't even send me the email add. SMFH

Fire the entire IT department and start over. It's embarrassing and a inconvenience for everyone.

They re horrible! They re slow, they escalate certain people claims. I know this because I know someone who told me they called and got their problem solved the same day. When I called every week for over a month, they just gave me the runaround.

Worst service ever!!!! Do we really need government?

Definitely deserves negative stars. Instead of actually looking for a job, I have had to fight a website that doesn't work and deal with people who speak legalese.

Difficult to navigate site. No assistance when needed. they want you to fail.

All these people working here, yet no one can help you. They give you a number to call that always states they are experiencing high call volumes and they have to call you back later. No need to leave your number on the call back service because they never call you back. These state government workers are useless and lazy. My unemployment was approved from the beginning, so this isn't a bad review becauswe I was denied. This is a bad review because this place is actually HORRIBLE

Well I'm a little sceptical right now. However been about a month and I think its time to file unemployment. After reading these reviews and already encoutering 0 Help I mean I had to call the main line Automated, hidden line on the web site Dead End and another super hidden line U turn which all forward you to Thanks for calling have a good day. So I figured try filing online SC unemployment save gas 32 min out of state give it a shot. CONNOT verify mother maiden name really after 5 attemps had to surrender. So now after plan A,B failing I am forced to drive to SC. Cant wait to meet the staff.

Actually, negative stars would be more appropriate. As a CPA who deals with many different states' websites, this SUITS junk has got to be the very worst one I have ever dealt with. I actually had to use Google to find a phone number to the unemployment place ... and of course, they were closed because of President's Day. Somebody wasted a lot of money to overdevelop a web site that is so dysfunctional!

Un helpful and service is slow certified for 2 weeks and received no benefits.bills are late and ive done everything ive been aske to do.

Obviously bin laden missed this building by a long shot . Like tf you have a call center if u can t take calls . Your website is trash more errors than options. These the real unemployed mfs cause not a soul doing a lick of work. Site down for maintenance then it s up but with twice the errors Karma will hit whoever responsible

As an employer, The SCDEW rates 0 stars, but I couldn't give it 0. I tried helping my employees by signing them up for the COVID19 furlough. The website just doesn't allow employers to do this. When we hit "file a claim", you get a screen that you cannot do anything on. Then I called. After hitting sever button for employers, I got the message that wait times were long, and you could hang on or call back. I wanted to hang on, but it just hangs up on you. SC need to graduate first grade! This website is a disgrace for our state.

If your having a bad day don't take it out on public. Hanging up in people's faces and being rude is not gonna help the situation.. I. Understand you guys deal with alot. .but I'm not comfortable. With giving my hard earned. Taxes for this treatment. Period
