Very unprofessional staff. Not even a thank you for calling or have a nice day.....so sad!!
i made a complaint , my car had a issue just after 4 months of sale, after i called them to let them know whats wrong, Billy Nash was my complaint handler and handle the complaint very well i am very pleased with the out come also it was done in a timely manner. Thank you Billy for your service!!!!
Had issues with brand new static caravan, this company wouldn't take responsibility to get things fixed. Me my partner and 2 young daughters spent 18 months sleeping in one bedroom, due to excessive mould in the other one. I told them they could stick the caravan. Their reply was, you'll have to still pay for it. Ended up winning a financial ombudsman case. And getting money back. Giving back the caravan. I will never use this company again.
I was happy driving my 54 plate fiat punto for six years also Debt free now I m Not happy after getting my new car yeah you would think it s the other way around.. Santander have treated me very bad they even had my Lloyd s bank account I ve had for 18 years shut down which had a hundred pounds of my benefit money in.. I ve always kept in contact with these guys every time I ve called I always speak to somebody different now tell me how they can deal with you in a private matter it s a complete joke I took my agreement out in may 2017 by September 2017 I was left homeless jobless very depressed and worried now I ve returned to work they want to reposess my wheels anyone know how I can stop this? ... I think getting the car was a nightmare in the first place tyres all corroded driving it around wtih the radiator fan constantly going for two weeks not bad for a 12 plate Mercedes that I worked my arse to get .. black listing me was a big mistake next I ll be contacting the financial ombudsman I m sick of the stress and worry this has caused me
I bought a car on finance with Santander and everything seemed fine for a week. My reason for returning to the dealer was because the start/stop had never worked. BMW uncovered a faulty turbo, battery, fuel heater, start/stop, rear suspension, headlamp and two very worn tyres. How this car passed an MOT before I bought it I'll never know. The car had also been up for recall since 2011 due to the risk of a fire in the engine bay, yet I wasn't told about this by the dealer. Almost a year later, after eventually having to turn to a Financial Ombudsman the turbo, battery and fuel heater has been replaced and the start/stop has been fixed (I think). However I paid for an MOT at the time of the repairs because I knew the suspension and headlamp would be an issue and not to my surprise, the car failed it's MOT and needs all new rear suspension, a headlamp and a tyre. Update: Santander refused to pay for the repairs needed in order to make the car roadworthy, which forced me to cancel my direct debit in February 2018. I also sent a letter using my final right to reject the car, now that it was officially unroadworthy. Almost two years pass and then in October 2019 I'm hit with a CCJ and my credit score takes a huge hit. How Santander can ask me for anything for a car that has never been roadworthy and they've now sold is beyond me! They even claim to have never received my letter sent to them on the 8th of February 2018. Their legal team claims to have never received it either... They sent me a copy of this letter, stamped with the word Received and dated the 12th of February as part of my Data Subject Access Request. If you're thinking of using Santander for anything I wouldn't. This company is extremely corrupt and has ruined my life for god knows how many years. I can't rent again. I certainly can't buy a home and I definitely can't buy another car. Update: Santander decided to call it quits. They have removed the CCJ and default on my credit report and they're walking away without a penny. I still stand by my opinion of Santander Consumer Finance. I will never do business with them again.
Terrible customer service!!! A women called LAYLA was very rude and immature. I ve caught her lie too many times....what a plum!!
I brought a car and gave them my bank details in store. Only received a letter through the post the other day from Santander to say they could not set up my direct debit, so I called them today to get it sorted, lady was very rude and said I was in arrears and what was the reason for it. I explained I only just got the letter through so that's why I was calling to rectify the situation. I was then told I may incur a charge for the payment being late! Absolutely appalling, the way I was spoken to and then said I would be charged when in fact I had already given my bank details. She then went on to say if I don't pay my bills on time it would give me bad credit, I have never ever paid late bills. Santander you need to train your advisors how to speak to CUSTOMERS correctly.
Dreadful company. I contacted them with a straightforward issue and they could not have been less helpful. Avoid at all costs.
WARNING! DONT EVER USE THIS COMPANY! They will fraud you for everything. This company seriously has to get shut down. Trying to even get hold of them is distasteful, calling them they just about answer the call if that but say "unfortunately you need to email us we cant give you any information over the phone". Has anyone heard of a company not being able to talk about an issue over phone? No? That's just STUPID. Emailing them oh thats another headache. Ages of no reply and then one sentence reply and no help whats so ever. Not even acknowledging my issue. THEY HAVE TAKEN MY CAR WITH NO WARNING!!! I have been paying over 2 years, and now they are trying to resell the car via auction. MY CREDIT SCORE HAS BEEN DESTROYED BECAUSE OF THIS UNACCEPTABLE DISGUSTING COMPANY! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!
A good company to work for, and the staff are always happy to help out when needed. They can't e-mail a lot of things out but they're usually good for finding out about your finance. Good rates as well on finance, provided you have a fair credit rating.
Terrible people to go to for finance, unreasonable charges at the end, they do not take into consideration loyalty and good customers, never using them again. As individual customers we mean nothing to them
WARNING!!! WARNING!!! WARNING!!! This small print on Santander Consumer Finance (car finance) terms & conditions section 4.4 states no one else can drive the car unless there on the finance agreement, BE VERY CAREFUL PEOPLE AS THEY WILL PUT A DEFAULT ON YOUR NAME AND ONLY WAY GETTING OUT OF IT IS YOU HAVE TO CLEAR THE FULL SETTLEMENT FIGURE, THERE IS ALSO SOMEONE ELSE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND COMMENTS ON HERE DATED 9TH OCTOBER WRITTEN BY AMELIA. DONT FINANCE WITH SANTANDER EVEN THOUGH MAYBE A BIG NAME AVOID AT ALL COSTS FOR YOU OWN BENEFIT
Can t believe how I ve been treated by them and how my 80-year-old Grandma has been. I sold my car in October and the third party called up the bank and made the settlement payment. I then called the bank and confirmed the payment had been made and they agreed that the payment had cleared. They then sent me letters confirming the payment had gone through and the car was no longer of interest to them and that they where happy for me to hand the car over to the new owner. A month passed and my Grandma who is the guarantor on the car got a letter saying my account was in arrears and that if she didn't pay her credit score would be damaged. She call me extremely upset and asked what had happed. I Had no idea as the bank had not contacted me. I called them and got through to a very rude lady who said the payment that had cleared on the account they had returned to the payer and that I was not liable for the full owing amount on the policy. I couldn t believe it so of course I launched a formal complaint with the bank and also received legal advice from my lawyer. My lawyer went through my case and confirmed it was water tight and I launched the formal complaint. They said it would take upto 8 weeks but they would try to get it done in 4. And that in this time no letters would be sent out about arrears. My Grandma then continue to receive threatening letters from the bank saying that money was owed and that it would affect her credit score. This made her become very stressed. So she phoned the bank and they put her on hold for 20 minutes. Even though the bank had told me that no arrears letters would be sent out and no calls would be made to any party on the policy they continued to do so nevertheless. I got a call from them today saying they had gone through the complaint and that they would not take responsibility for it. They could not give me any reason for why they weren t taking responsibility for the case and just said that it was not their responsibility. They also said that they where still looking into some parts of it but they would now start trying to take payments off me again while they investigated it. What a disgusting way to treat your customers specially your elderly customers from a bank that prides themselves on offering finance to vulnerable people. I have done a little bit of investigating in the meantime and found an article from a well-known newspaper with several similar complaints against Santander consumer finance saying that vulnerable people had been treated badly by them and neglected. I asked the question what is the point in using the bank that does not protect your money and when they fail to do their job try to pin it on the customer at all costs. I now will have to go through the financial Ombudsman and several newspapers have asked to buy the story off me. My advice to anyone vulnerable or anyone interested in finance do not use Santander consumer finance as the untrustworthy and inadequate at Protecting your money. If you you are a customer of Santander consumer finance get your money out of their accounts immediately it is not safe.
The worst and most unhelpfull company ever picks and chooses who is wants to accept .. Rude staff and unless you have a mega credit score will slam the door in your face thier are alot better finance companys to deal with if you shop around ... So morel is avoid this company
The worst company ever Really regret being with them
Rude staff not helpful at all. I regret being with this company never ever will go back
Long queues and if you cannot wait unreasonable fees Do not use. These people are crooks.
Everyone just avoid. Worst company to do finance with. They do not care about customers and add on hidden charges!
Horrendous customer service. I have had an ongoing vehicle quality issue since May 2020. The allocated complaint handler is never available, calls are never returned and emails are never replied. Managers are also unavailable and will call you back within 72 hours....ye right...they never do. My car was finally rejected on 30th september and I returned the vehicle nearly 4 months ago but am still waiting to receive the monies owed from this appalling company. I have made a number of complaints via the website complaints procedure....to my surprise nobody ever contacts me back. The only contact I get is texts and letters telling me I have missed payments on an agreement I was told had been void in September. Avoid at all costs!!!
Would never touch these again EVER. I traded my car in last year and "the car people" didn't forward on my payment. I got hounded constantly and harassed from Santander and had people ring me in a nasty aggressive manor trying to squeeze money out of me that I was refusing to pay out of my own pocket. The situation got cleared up a few MONTHS later and the car people passed the money on. Santander accepted this was no fault of my own yet MASSIVELY damaged my credit score. There's "nothing they can do about this" so looks like I'll just have to suffer for the years to come paying high interest rates and getting declined for finance. DONT GO HERE theres a good chance they will RUIN YOUR FINANCIAL LIFE. Criminal loan sharks with a LTD company.. funny thing was, Santander ended up actually owing me money....
STAY AWAY. Returned a car after 6 days, 4 MONTHS later have no money returned, 200 points wiped from my credit score for "late payment" to them (didn't even have to make a payment as didn't get to a month and they put a hold on them!) and tried to say they couldn't even return the money so had to go to financial ombudsman! Couldn't even get another car on finance now if I wanted to so no car, no money and no credit score that I've been building since I was 19!! They sided with a garage Trading Standards have their eye on and had to constantly chase them.m to repsond. Seriously cannot believe a company like this exists - you'd think Santander would be reputable! BIGGEST MISTAKE IVE MADE.
I hope to never deal with them again, by far the worse company i have ever come across, customer services... what customer services they have no idea how to treat a customer fairly, they just pass everything onto there third party and send threatening letters to your address regardless of the fact you had already explained your situation to santander. rediculour APR intrest, it atleast doubled the price of the vehicle brought. avoid seriously avoid because once you have signed you will have a lifetime of hell from them
Impossible to get threw on phone.constantly getting cut off. Taking multiole monthly payments when they should only take 1 what a un organised joke of a company.
Please beware of this company. Avoid if possible wouldn t normally rate online but need to warn of these scammers
A really awful company. There was some strange DD issue with my account that doesn't happen with other companies but for some reason they could not set up a DD with my valid bank account. I find this company so abhorrent and unpleasant to deal with that I decided to just pay the car off than have to deal with their incompetence and arrogance. I agree with previous 1 star contributors, STAY WELL CLEAR.
Very unprofessional. After paying 7000 Into a 25000 agreement. I fell into arrears for 400. They gave me an agreement due to start on the 1st of September to clear up 400 pounds, by installing 100 a month. On the 7th of augast they cancelled my agreement for being 2 days late on a monthly payment. Very harsh company with hormonal staff that are very rude and unhelpful. They cancelled my agreement after being 7,000 pound paid into a 24,000 pound agreement. I even called to pay off the arrears in full and they still persisted to attempt to land me in debt by cancelling and agreement. Stay way from these moraless crooks .
Currently dealing with this awful company regarding repairs on my vehicle. Communication is awful, barely heard a word in the last couple of months, I'm constantly ringing them for an answer but getting fobbed off with excuses. My complaint handler is as useful as a chocolate fire guard. The corrupt company is still taking full payment for the car yet it's not working 100% as advertised. If a car dealership works alongside this company don't bother go elsewhere.
I ve wait for 1 hour and 28 minutes and no one answer . Another day I wait 1 h only, after answering they pass me to another department... and that department they give me the same number to call ... the one that I was calling already and wait for 1 hour . Just avoid them .
