Sands isn't located on what you would consider the "strip" in Reno, but if the weather is nice, it's not a very long walk from the strip. The dealers were extremely fun, but the reason it was a 3/5 For me was beacuse the Sands seems to attract an older crowd, and didn't seem as upbeat as other casinos.

Some damage to the rooms and getting an actual blanket was quite difficult but other than that it all was quite nice, their awards for points were fun and free gifts I liked. I would return there again especially for the price.

Nothing super special about this hotel except for the Mel's Diner. Wi-Fi is really slow, even if you take the "premium" paid 1.5mbps package. Both soda machines on my floor were totally empty. Casino floor is alright.

I am here once every month to six weeks. They are professional, friendly and are upgrading all their rooms. They have a fine health club open until 9:00 pm, though later would be nice. Their slot machines are a little tight.

This is our go-to spot..Cheap and for the most part clean with comfy beds. They have def upgraded since the 1st time coming here 10yrs ago and looks like they are gonna renovate again but hopefully room prices wont rise too much... It's not too busy but right now with the Rona causing havoc I'm not complaining about it being dead ona 4th of July wknd. We just head 2 the Peppermill if looking for a lil more gambling action Staff checks temp before you check-in and gives u a mask if needed. Machines are spaced to maintain social distancing. And per usual staff is super pleasant!

I've stayed here before when looking for a last minute room. I would never again stay here for full price! After signing up for a players card, they mail out free room promotions. I finally took advantage of this and came back for a 4 night stay, (which I only paid a total of $120 including tax). You really get what you pay for. The air quality in the room was terrible. We had a non smoking room but who really know what you get here. Stained carpets, furniture, and wallpaper. The walls are very thin. Not for the light sleeper. It was extremely windy this weekend and the gaps in the windows didn't let us forget. The wind was constantly whistling in through our window also keeping us up at night. The elevators are slow and often out of order. If you're looking for a quick, cheap stay, this is your place. But if you were looking to spend any time in your room, or sleep, stay somewhere else.

Located near the heart of the Reno strip, the Sands Regency is a budget friendly alternative to the myriad of choices in the area. To summarize my experience with concerns I read in other reviews: room was very clean, check in does take a while, walls are thin and there was some noise at night. Overall, I don't prefer casino/hotels mainly due to the tobacco stench, but the Sands fit our needs at a good price.

Great room for the price! It's pretty average but very clean & spacious, & the view of the Sierra Nevadas and the city is amazing. Would be a 5 star if the room had at least ONE appliance, because there's no microwave, coffee pot, or mini fridge. Just the tv. Otherwise great hotel.

Reeks of cigarette smoke trying to get to the elevators. Very old, dated uncomfortable, chipped and worn furniture in room. One outdoor patio chair at table in room. One highbacked faded chair. Discolored tile grout in bathroom. Bathroom desperately needs updated. The blow dryer burned my hair. Bed was hard as a rock. They provided 3 pillows. I asked for an additional one, it never arrived, I used the gross pillow in the chair. We were there 3 days and never got the pillow. Bed covering was a top sheet, a sheet thin blanket and another top sheet. No coffee pot, or microwave and the dorm fridge did not fit in the credenza, therefore it was on top of it. Elevator went out. Spent hours downstairs waiting to get to our room. When we asked, none of the staff knew anything about it. Some staff were unaware there was an outage. Another guest finally told us we could take a different set of elevators and walk over to our tower. When we got to our room, it had not been cleaned. When we called to discuss all of this, we were offered a free buffet, for a place that dudnt even open until hours after our check out the next day! We asked for a set of towels and another pillow, again. We had to call again the next morning for towels, at this point the pillow was obviously not needed. We will never stay here again. This was not a cheaply priced hotel. It is by far the worst hotel experience I've had in many years.
After receiving a survey about our experience, I listed all of our concerns and was very disappointed with the short reply. No apologies or offer of compensation. They really just don't care.

Great food. Sat down at a machine, put the money in started pushing the button. I hit the button 50 (fifty) times and guess what happened . The wheels spun and nothing else happened. So I guess things haven't changed since I wrote my last review. It's hard to win at the SANDS CASINO &HOTEL. They do have really beautiful rooms .
I even broke out the Rabbits foot and my lucky pennies but they didn't help. Bring a truckload of luck, your gonna need it. Later T.C.

Was a nice visit. Lots of other Hunters showed up and we beat the Moltres I. I'm the raid battle. However there were a lot of Valor players so I didn't get a large a bonus and failed to catch the bird.

Before the new owner took over this place was ridiculous to work for. I was in a runner/house keeping. I was given an entire floor of rooms to clean, the manager came up and said dont bother with vacuuming these rooms just dust and move on. There was a room that was so dirty and stained that it took me longer to clean than it was supposed to. When the inspector came to check the rooms she said they were done poorly. I let the inspector know what my boss had told me to do. My boss threw my under the bus and said she didn't say any of that and I'm blaming her cause of a bad job that I did. And all the makeup stains I couldnt get entirely out was my laziness. I hope they hured a new manager.

Very dissapointed at the establishment. Booked room through Expedia. Would not honor my temporary credit card because name was not on it even though had ID. Got in late after midnight! Tired hungry ready for sleep.. Cancelled reservation. Stayed up all night! Took bus Tahoe in am. I've stayed there so many times! Never had a problem. Not only cost them for my room 2 days! But will Probubly never stay or gamble there again. Costing them a lot more money. So be it! No personal service anymore
