The buffet was expensive for the food they had to offer at the time of my visit. Maybe other days are better. Idk. But food was crusty and looked like it had been sitting for quite some time.

It's a casino for the Homeless and Drug Dealers, employees dont seem to care, when i approach Security and stated that I had been offered Meth on two occasion along with being offered Weed "at the best price in town" i simply got up and left. Will never go back
WOW I am really impressed with the remodeling . It's a fantastic place .
Good prices good atmosphere very good food and also won at the casino I love most ...
The room was excellent... The room service was abundantly outrageous and courteous. I have NEVER SEEN A MORE PROFESSIONAL TEAM. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR GREAT HOSPITALITY N SERVICE. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK .
Love it. The restaurants are delicious and so many deals and casino specials.
We found a cockroach in our room and we went to the front desk to tell them. They only moved us to another room, but same Empress tower because we came in a tour buss they said that they cannot give us something better. I told them that because we don t fight like others do they just don t care about us. We need to know our rights better. It is very cheap, but it doesn t mean that people deserve a room with cockroaches, right?
If you ever lose anything check with Security will probably have it turned in and it would be there in a lost and found
Over promise under deliver. 4 rooms for 4 nights claimed we could be on the same floor but then didnt come through. A/C didn't work Rooms And furnishings falling apart Dont expect hot water.... in one room dont expect ANY water. Front desk treats you like a cross between a prostate exam and a trip to the DMV. If you think your getting a great deal just wait till they slap you with the resort fee 50 bucks per room. Free internet... ya the unpaid bit is enough data to send and receive emails. I never bothered to check what they charge for enough data to browse Facebook or watch Netflix but it is EXTRA! this place is the armpit of reno.
This hotel is horrible, when we checked in with our 2 year old twins on a cold Friday night, the key card didn't work. We went downstairs 3 times stood in line to get new ones to find out the technician had to fix the door! After sitting on the floor in the hallway for just about an hour we got in. The bathtub was stopped up just horrible.... Then the manager said there nothing I can do but report what you told me.
You get what you pay for.... Never again....
The people there were really friendly and the service was great
Awesome experience. Bingo was cheap and amazing. Coupons were great and it was awesome
Kinda run down seedy perfect for the part of town they are in.
The sands has been good to me and is definitely in my top three casinos....
Exceptional value for money with spacious, clean and well equipped rooms. Friendly staff.great buffet dinner and excellent location
Staff members scary.. Not super helpful or friendly. Hotel smells of gaggy smoke.. Casino players resembled crack heads.... Pros... Cheap
Since they stopped the blues jams... not much there I'm interested in anymore
This place is a joke. They ran my card two times one for the room then again for the deposit only for my bank to decline it due to them running it back to back it raised a flag for fraud. After callin my bank They explained everything and released my card for use.
When I returned to ask about why I hadn't been refund the money they took for a room they told me it could take 7-10 buisness days before it's refunded?!!!! So as a person traveling you can see my dilemma .Now I'm left with not enough money to get a hotel anywhere else .I wouldn't recommend ANYONE ever stay at there based on this .There staff was not helpful in anyway and getting an answer as to why or how all they could say was a pointless discussion the only answer is well we could charge your card again???
The best bellhop anywhere. Patrick and Tito were so helpful and friendly. Great guys. More places should have help like these two
Worst stay I ve ever had and I ve travelled a lot! Let s just say I was in 3 different rooms before they put me in one without any issues. Technicians are awsome though got to meet a few of them
Staff is very polite. They need more seating around the dance floor.
Decent place to stay if you are looking for a cheaper hotel in Reno. Rooms are old and need to be renovated though.
me and my husband went to Reno on 4/7/2019, stay in sands regency casino hotel room 1215. the room was dirty and old, never remodeled. we both got bitten by bed bugs. we will never book this hotel again. so dirty!!!
Clean room. Slightly smelled of smoke. Spacious, and fun
I bought an original Mel Burger with cheese at the diner. Excellent as always.
Kinda feel like they're not trying hard enough here at Sands. None of the employees have an attitude of a hotel or a casino. Maybe the attitude of a gift shop at the bottom of the Grabd Canyon. Like they're surprised and disappointed they have a customer there to waste their time with. The accommodations themselves were all old but clean, which is most important. The wifi was slow as a 2-legged turtle, which is why I knocked off an additional star. Overall, I'm not annoyed with myself for choosing to stay here, but I won't recommend it or do it again.
Waaaay too many crack heads and the customer service sucks. Been going here for years and it keeps getting worse.
Smoky, and not quite clean.
Friendly staff.
They don't even deserve one star. To start, the front stoop...goodness gracious one would think because it's where guests comes in they'll at least make it welcoming, but no...not only it is dirty, it's poorly lit! Then the door , if you're carrying stuff and cannot open the door, you're doomed...they don't have an automatic door nor will anyone help you to open the door so you can get in. Then we go to the check in counter...the two individuals did not look like they belong there. My husband approached the first and gave his name, the guy proceeded to tell him pointing to the other side and mumbled something, so my husband repeated his name and said ' we're checking in'...and the guy laughed and said 'Ohhh'..didnt even apologized. Then my husband asked for a bellman, and he just pointed quickly and said ' Go there'...huh!!! So unprofessional!! So my husband ended up hauling our luggage by himself!! I asked if we can get a microwave in the room..they said they don't have any, ok. .a fridge? They do but it'll cost $10 per day.. so what's this resort fee that we just paid!?!? It's not even a resort!! Then we got into the elevator....it SMELLED!! I'm not kidding...dirty and smelly!! I think we got into a HORROR HOTEL...by this time I'm so afraid at what I'll find in the room!
In the room....nothing to write home about. One small window on the right overlooking a roof and another building. Room is dark and outdated. I wouldn't mind it so much if the service is good, but they're not! So many negatives here that I rather STOP and not waste time enumerating them. Just saying, avoid this hotel at all costs! And last but not least...our car got broken into...took my husband's backpack with the work laptop and other things!!!...This didn't happen when we stayed at the GSR... there every week for almost five months!!
Stayed overnight at the sands hotel in a double bed room. The room was clean, showers worked, and the receptionist was polite. The only problem we had was with the a/c feeling inconsistent. Sometimes the room was cool, but other times it was warm. Overall, it was a good experience!
Kinda run down and definitely where alot of vagrants and low life druggies hang out strong drinks though so I'll go back .
I also like to stop at the sands they want to point very attentive
It was bad there was hair in my pizza and they wont do nothing about it
They have a resort fee that brings the rooms up to almost a bill! Ridiculous for the lack of quality
Great location, close in proximity to everything. Service was great, rooms clean, and had a great time!
Friendly employees, safe environment. I go there almost everyday.
Good place, clean rooms. Terrible service. No one came and cleaned, or brought towels or toilet paper. We asked several times but no one came. We had to go to track and catch the cleaners and get the supplies we needed. It wouldn't have been so bad if we had been there for a weekend, but we were there for over a week.
I didn't like it.
This is a good cheap place to hold up if your here just party or gamble.
One of the cheaper and centrally located hotels in Reno with good machines
Good place to stay machine are ok win some lose some. Need better secuity at elevators going to room no one should be going up unless they have a room maybe coffee pots would be nice
Not bad for an older casino/hotel. Nothing really amazing about it either.
What can I say tried it, didn't like it, won't go back
Service was good first room we got was occupied so that was kinda weird and the floors are either too hot or too cold
I attended a professional event at the Sands in Reno, NV with several coworkers. We all felt the establishment appeared old and outdated, the serving staff was very inattentive although they were not busy at all. Glasses sat on the bar top pre-filled with ice, which allowed people access to our glasses, the ice started melting which causes watered down drinks and the potential to have something in the glass that we didn't want in there (i.e. ashes, fruit flies, etc).
This is not a place that I would recommend to people if putting on a social or professional event.
the help was very help full and polite when I had a problem with my machine I was playing thank you
New blankets, I mean not even a fitted sheet. Just a couple of loose sheets tucked to look nice, elevators we're literally scary, some worked but not well and others when you got to your floor the doors wouldn't open but you could go back to the ground floor and then back up and it would usually work, someone left a bag of puke in the hallway and even though maids went by twice they never cleaned it up even though coming at 7, 7:30 and 8 even though we were leaving that day at noon. Won't be returning only nice thing was the fact that Mel's was there
I stay here now and again the prices are pretty cheap rooms are all right they're not great not bad and it's Central to all my friends and family where I got to be
The rooms are nice and pretty well kept. For the most part the staff is nice and very accommodating. The casino, now that is in need of a major update!
This was the worst hotel I ve ever stayed at in my whole life. Wait.... second, the first place was in Albuquerque. First off my wife and I are Vets, an I m saying this because we ve camped in the woods etc.... we paid $420 that weekend at More
Bingo was nice but young servers at Mel's we're rude and unprofessional
Stopped in to the casino a few times to play and they have a nice amount of machines. I was glad I didn't stay at this hotel because every time I visted, I noticed the check-in line had over 25 people waiting.
So far it's been really nice very fun place to bring your love one and spend some quality time. Then this is the place to.
Went to a farmers market on the 20th and bought some fresh cherries.
Cheap rooms, but the casino is ick. Kind of a trailer park vibe. Room was clean, just dated. Oh, and at 5 am there was naked fella in hallway. That was hilarious - really....
