Sandals St. Lucia Golf Resort & Spa Review

The resort experience was really top notch. Liz and I commented multiple times how we felt safer from a Covid standpoint in St Lucia then we do back in the states. While you are not required to wear a mask at the resort, you certainly can. All of the staff wear masks. Anytime you enter a restaurant or gift shop, you are asked to sanitize your hands (for the breakfast buffet, you have to sanitize again when you enter the buffet area). When enter the buffet, they have staff their to greet you(Marvin is the best) and explain the process. If you want something from the buffet, just let one of their folks know and they will get it for you. I work in the hotel industry, and I have never stayed at a hotel or resort where literally everyone was friendly and outgoing. I mean very staff member was so friendly and outgoing. All 3 of our butlers, Shervan, Kenwin, and Nakisma were terrific. We had Shervan and Kenwin more than Nakisma, so we got to know them more, and I know we will request them personally whenever we make it back to St Lucia. Julie, Yvette, Kelvin, and Marvin from the breakfast buffet were amazing. We interacted with Marvin every morning, and we really looked forward to seeing him daily. His personality was just awesome! Speaking of their breakfast buffet, the food was very good. They have hands-down the best bananas and mangos ever!

All of the food was very good, but our favorite restaurants were(in no particular order)
- Toscanini s (Italian)
- Kimono s (Japanese steakhouse)
-Barefoot by the Sea (the swordfish was awesome); our sever was also great because my wife asked if they could make a lemon martini because it was the signature cocktail at Toscanini s, but she said they couldn t because you can only get signature cocktails from those restaurants. Well, she actually came back with one. Turns out she walked all the way to Toscanini s to get one for my wife, which was just awesome of her!
-Jerk Shack (jerk pork and festival was awesome - had it multiple times for lunch)
- Josephine s(really good crepes)
- Soy(sushi)
- Gordon s (really nice setting on pier over water)
- The Mariner (good lunch spot with really good quesadillas)
- Dino s (wood fire pizza) - good lunch spot

**We ate at their French restaurant, Bayside, the first night and the atmosphere was great, but we ate so much food the rest of the week, so I had trouble remembering what I ate and how good it was. We did not eat at the Indian restaurant, Bombay, since my wife is not a big fan of Indian food. We ate at the Irish pub instead and it was good.

*** I would recommend future guests to try to eat at Kimono s early in their trip/vacation because it was so much good food, but I was having trouble eating much towards the end of our trip because of all of the food consumed earlier in the week.

****its also worth noting that each restaurant has their own signature drink, and all were very food*****

The drinks were also really food. Our favorites were the Pita Special (make sure he is working because the only way you can get this drink is if he is working at the pool bar), the BBC, the Bob Marley, and the Blue Hawaiian.

They had great entertainment every night. Our first night, they had a water show with singing, special water choreography, fire breathers, and island dancers. They also had a Broadway night where there was singing and choreography to popular broadway shows. They had also a local country music singer then came in one night and performed as well as a reggae night. This certainly isn t everything from an evening entertainment schedule they had available, but were some of our favorites.

Overall, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend St Lucia as a destination. If anyone is worried about traveling their during Covid, the worry is unfounded as Sandals has done an amazing job of establishing protocols to keep everyone healthy and safe. I felt safer in the country/at the resort than I do in the states.

What an amazing place. The food was unbelievable the staff was tremendous and the island looks just like in pictures if not better. We loved each and every minute and can't wait to go back again.

It's hard to describe I am a veteran of the army with 30 years experience has been all over the world but this place here made me feel like I was in heaven I love it from this point on I will take my vacations with sandals

First time at sandals and certainly won't be the last! Staff is super friendly and everything is super clean! I feel safer here then at home lol!

Everything has been perfect so far. Upgrade to club! It's everything we were hoping it would be. We were initially disappointed when a guy took our bags from arrivals twenty feet to the shuttle bus area and then demanded a tip. Other than that everyone had been super friendly.

This resort did not disappoint. The housekeeping staff kept our room clean and stocked with water, towels and toiletries. The food was delicious and the entertainment was fun! They made check in easy and check out easy. COVID testing was well organized and all stress and anxiety was gone. Will definitely be going to another Sandals.

I LOVE this resort! This was our third time at a Sandals Resort and this was the best experience! Our room was perfect, the food was delicious and the staff was amazing. The dive operation is phenomenal! My issue at the two other resorts was the lack of organization at the dive shop. This dive shop is organized, the boats were not over crowded and the Dive shop team is outstanding! I highly recommend taking the PADI Lion Fish Hunter course while diving. I was extremely apprehensive to use a spear but Marcus made sure I had the skills needed to succeed. It was a new experience and added an extra element on the dives. Also, make sure to go to the Red Lane Spa. They offer a full menu of services. One caution, the resort is a 90 minute drive from the airport. The entire ride is hills and curves. Make sure to take something if you are prone to motion sickness.

The staff members were amazing and so friendly! Our butlers went out of their way to make our vacation one to remember. The activities department was always a blast with land olympics and pool Olympic being our favorites. The food was AMAZING. Peter at the bar made TO DIE FOR drinks. 100% recommend Grande Resort for your vacation.

First time at a Sandals, already booked 2 more trips it was that awesome.

Absolutely beautiful! While other resorts had red flags (no swimming) in their water all week, we didn t get a single inhibiting issue. Great honeymoon destination, great excursions. If you re doing excursions, haggle! And just bring small bills to tip any non-resort personnel. Service was impeccable, restaurants were phenomenal. Country music night was great wish we got to see it twice! Can t wait to go back.

Service is top notch even for the luxury rooms. Didn't feel crowded even though the resort was full.

The only thing To that I would recommend is it they try to move you more towards a private power boat tour with captain other than a packedj j's trip with 20 plus people. That way you can stay as long or as little as you like it or not hearded like cattle. Adventure tours St. Lucia miss Erin private boat tours. Captain Willie will go above and beyond to make your experience unforgettable and intimate.

Most everything was great, the food, the staff, the beach, resort, etc. However, a few things they need to change. First, they were doing yard work at 7:50AM outside our window on the first morning we were there. Also, they need to do a better job of communicating about what's going on at the resort. We missed a show at night because we never heard anything about it. I heard several others complain about this as well. The beach is just okay, the ocean is roped off so you can only swim in designated areas. If the resort was at full capacity, we would have had trouble getting a place to sit on the beach. Also, their website says that you can transfer to other Sandals resorts but you can't right now so they should update their website. The ocean view room is more of a pool and resort view with the ocean in the background. The rooms sit back from the ocean so you aren't looking just at the ocean. The other issue and it's not their fault is the ride from the airport. It takes an hour and a half of riding in a hot van on winding roads. It's awful and for this reason alone we will probably not go back to St. Lucia or at least not back to Sandals. We didn't find out until afterwards that you can take a helicopter but I'm not sure we want to do that either because of safety concerns. The main thing I have a problem with is that you pay for a full day the first day and we didn't get to the hotel until 6PM. Sandals should have had some lunch prepared for you to take in the van as we only at breakfast in the airport before we left at 7:00 AM and didn't eat again until around 6:30 PM. As much as you pay, it would have been nice to at least have a lunch prepared for us upon arrival. Don't get me wrong, we still had a great trip and some of these issues were probably due to COVID but just be prepared.

All around great resort. Would have given five stars if the service would have been better.
Service: No waiter service around pool or beach.

Food: The food was the best of all exclusive food of any resort we are visited. Surf and turf at Gordon's was awesome. Wouldn't have thought steak would be so good on an island but it was tender and great. We did not have room service but is only available to club level and above rooms for free.

Room: Nothing bad just your typical resort room. We had the honeymoon penthouse rooms and they were just the top floor.

Excursions
Pitons- Warning if you are not in somewhat good shape I would not suggest this hike. Two hours up and two hours down. If you are up for it then I highly recommend it.
JJ boat tours- Did not attend this tour but was highly recommended by multiple people at resort.
ATV tours- Pass on this tour if you have been on Atvs in the past.
Park hike next to resort-Great views and easy hike. Go to gate entrance and pay 7 USD per person for entry.

All around was a great trip and would recommend it to everyone.

The St. Lucians are very excellent hosts. The staff would talk to many of the guests to ask if they needed anything and if it is within their means they would accommodate their request. The food was great and done to perfection. All the grounds on the resort are extremely well kept. Would recommend private car/driver as transport instead of group. Can get to the resort much faster and easier to stop at scenic points along the way.

Love this Sandals....we've enjoyed Antigua and Barbados....but have a special place in our hearts for St Lucia...the people we met and the staff we encountered were what made Grande St Lucian our favorite! Plus the scuba diving was our all time favorite!

Our stay at Sandals Grande was absolutely amazing! We stayed in a Randoval with Butler service for our honeymoon.

Our butlers who assisted us throughout our stay were- Malaikah, Michelle, & Uriah. The three of them were polite, friendly, and extremely accommodating. Our schedule was setup for us everyday for our entire trip, from laying at the beach; to booking activities; to drawing us a romantic bathe; to making our reservations for dinner- It was all done for us! We didn t have to do a thing or lift a single finger.

Every day our room was freshened up for us 1-2 times a day, and nice like touches like towel decorations and rose petals were always left in the room. Someone cleaned our pool and jacuzzi multiples times during our stay as well.

I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who wants to plan a special vacation with their significant other. Every staff member is polite, friendly, and helpful & the resort is extremely clean and well taken care of. This vacation was easily worth every penny!

SO AMAZING! all the workers were so kind and helpful and some of them were super funny and outgoing!! the all day snorkeling catamaran was SO fun.. we turned that boat into a dance club on the way back and I will never forget that day! met so many good friends there. the food is all phenomenal. Get tons of sushi at Soy!!!! and the fried rice at Kimonos is great -- our hibachi cook was hilarious.

take advantage of the included water sports! we did the sailboat and it was easy for my husband to learn to drive it quickly! SOOOO FUN. I would love to do it all over again. Swing on the swings in the water.. oh! and get a massage! we got the couples massage and its the best massage I've ever had (I've had many lol)

oh also! every time you see a Sandals photographer, ask them to take pics of you! the pics are kinda expensive but worth it to not have to think about taking your own all week/carrying your phone or camera around. and to have those great shots for a lifetime! all of our pics turned out so good!

We are leaving but not before this group of hair designers leaves a group review. You have Travis and Megel in the gardens who always talks and smiles when we go by. Vanessa and Oshane and Kerney along with Marly all at the water sports who spoiled us snorkling yesterday. We have Melvin and Rose and Jernais from entertainment department kept us active. Ferman along with Randy and his wife from the pup and outside bar kept us comming back. The ladies in the gift shop and jewelery are the best. The ladies from the spa who were in the hall always being so nice. The sales staff Rhea and Shanna and of course Winston had everything perfectly done right down to the details. Rohn the operations manager can be seen che king on things and the resort was in PERFECT condition. Riverside Tpurs and Travel was the company who took care of booking everything and making sure all was perfect.
We will be back

What's there not to love!! Warm temps, all the alcohol you can drink, a super friendship staff, beautiful Caribbean waters, music and things to do any time you want... Or just relax and get drunk :)

This was our second trip in the past year. This place is perfect. So many things to do and the staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful. Take advantage of the free water sports. Zero complaints. Will be there again! A special thank you to, Francilia, Lance, Nadia, Sol, Jacqueline, Uncle Ben, Jayla, and Donovan. They made our trip extra special.

This is the most amazing place I've been so far. Aside from stunning views, the service is outstanding, the food is delectable, and the amenities are a blast (not to mention INCLUDED!). St Lucia itself is absolute paradise, and the locals are very kind and helpful. It's an expensive island, but totally worth it. I will say, I wish we took the helicopter to or from the island: the bus ride there is rough!

We loved every minute of our stay at the Sandals Grande, from the moment we arrived to the wonderful send off. Our room was gorgeous and well cleaned. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. The weather was great too! We enjoyed our selves so much that by the 3 day we had booked our next trip.

This resort was perfection in my opinion. The gardens were beautifully manicured, the paint and wood stains were touched up and looked brand new, the staff is extremely friendly and attentive to you specifically, and the drinks and food are great! I would highly recommend this to anyone who is thinking of vacationing in the Caribbean. I will only stay at a Sandals Resort from now on!

Beautiful resort! Best Sandals on the island. Always something going on to entertain you and plenty of activities. The food is amazing. There's a wide selection to choose from so your palate doesn't get bored. The staff is wonderful, always very friendly and helpful.

From the gardners to the managers these were the nicest people I've met on vacation. They could not have been more friendly. The food is top notch, the resort is spaced so you never feel crowded, and it's in a beautiful bay with lots to do. It was the best Caribbean vacation we've ever taken. Take the JJ Speedboat tour to the Pitons, a volcano, snorkeling, and lunch. Great punch served on board. Try and get on the boat with a guy who calls himself No Problem. Hes great fun

My wife and I were married here on the beach and it was beautiful! We just eloped and spent the extra money making memories. This place goes out of their way to accommodate you. Wonderful staff and we even enjoyed conversing with the locals. They have it all! The staff helps you plan before you even arrive. We enjoyed every restaurant, show and the night life themes were amazing. The water sports and snorkeling were awesome too! Off resort we drove beach buggies through town and went zip lining, jet skiing. The resort provides transportation at the airport. Just find the kiosk and don't just jump in a cab. Everything is all inclusive. You only tip butlers and drivers. You simply leave a staff member's name at the front desk to be recognized and that's how they move up or get incentives. Or you may buy a gift and give it to them as a personal gesture of appreciation. They also offer a give back to the local children. Certain donations will provide school supplies, literature, sports equipment or even food. Go for it! We splurged on a butler suite since we were getting married. They do cool things for you and anything else you wish is a phone call away. By cool, I mean handle dinner reservations and than escort you and introduce you. Or they reserve a gazebo on the beach and have lunch, drinks, anything really. Very cool experience with your own villa and pool plus fully stocked bar. If you can treat your wife to a Butler for a day or even a romantic dinner on the beach than do it. They offer this option as well. It's worth the experience for sure. I mean how often are you here? Soak it up and enjoy yourself. They have a shuttle to take you off resort to do more extreme things too! My wife and I plan to be back for our anniversary. They also will let you resort hop and enjoy the other amenities there! We truly loved it here!

We did a lot of research before deciding on Sandals Grande St. Lucia, and we are so glad we picked it! Everything about our honeymoon was perfect, and we would highly recommend it for any vacation or honeymoon!

- food was really good. we tried just about all the restaurants, and our favorite was Barefoot (and D'Dra was the best server!). Highly recommend taking the 20-minute trip over to Halcyon for the sushi restaurant. Best. Sushi. Ever. And we loved Lorenzo there!

- the room was nice - and our patio faced the beach with beautiful landscaping all around

- fitness center was great - we went to two classes with Roma, and she was wonderful

- all the bars were great. we spent most of our time at the swim-up bar at the main pool. There was always entertainment/music, and floating on the rafts or sitting at the bar was perfect.

- beach was beautiful, and we loved the nets anchored out in the water to lay on. Just stay away from the locals trying to sell you stuff on the beach.

- snorkeling was wonderful - and included

- we did the Island Buggy Tour and it was our favorite day! We loved spending the entire day touring the island in the AWESOME buggy, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant, swimming in the volcanic water, mud bath and waterfall, stopping and learning about the banana plantations, and stopping for multiple scenic views/photos. Our tour guides, Gregory and Nicholas were amazing. Gregory even painted really cool designs on us with the mud, which gave us an awesome photo opp. Highly recommend booking this excursion - worth every penny!

- we also did the Sunset Cruise excursion, which was really fun. The cruise was beautiful, and we got some lovely pictures. Plus, the cocktails and snacks were flowing! It was a really romantic, fun evening.

If you want to go to an all-inclusive, beautiful place... consider St. Lucia. We can't wait to plan our next Sandals vacation.

Great location, wondeful hotel and fantastic beach. Only minutes from the historical Pigeon Point.

Best beach. Amazing gourmet dinner experience and I love the staff, they make you feel special.

We loved our Sandels experience. The food, drinks, and staff were some of the best we have ever experienced. Not to mention the gorgeous views, water, and rooms. Our rooms were constantly cleaned for us, fridges restocked, and staff were always around to help.

We only had two complaints: on the beach there were people, not directly working for the resort, stalking the beach trying to sell us items and trips that were very proprietorial and would nag you for money; the internet was not working whatsoever for the first three days of the trip even after paying for the premium internet.

Lovely resort, loads of beautiful restaurants with amazing staff always on hand and willing to assist. Highly recommended

Wonderful honeymoon spot. Butler service was top notch. Food was pretty good could be better but staying in a room with a butler you can pretty much get what you want when you want. The views are wonderful. All staff are very pleasant and nice. Would definitely stay here again.

Staff was great. Ride from aurpirt was in a very dirty old toyota. Several people becane ill. No air. Came to relax after back surgery and was assured we would have a close room because walking would be a problem. Our room is at the furthest point from all restaurants and activitues. Shower flooded first night. Tried to upgrade with no success. $25 for a small bottle of lotiin. Menus never change. First bottle of distilled water was free second botyle (10 ounces) is $18. No room service without butler service. We are retired and have traveled the world including two other sandals. For the pruce go somewgere else. Had to cancel dinner reservation because too far to walk.

The butler service was great. Atmosphere at the beach during sunset was among the best we've ever experienced. The food was much better than expected. Would highly recommend this resort.

It was an amazing trip. 9/10. Here are my ideas to where it could improve;
1. Better customer service. No one went above and beyond and we didn t feel important considering how expensive this trip was. Tell them you are on your honeymoon. They will treat you better.
2. They solicit you like crazy. Not just Sandals staff but also people on the beach.
3. The drives suck. It s a long drive from the airport and to other resorts. The roads are twisty and they drive pretty crazy
4. Really expensive. The trip and anything you want to buy

Went there one afternoon while staying at La Toc resort. I preferred our resort overall but the Grand had a lot to offer. Seemed like more of a party place than La To which was more romantic.

Absolutely breath taking resort. The staff here are very kind and are willing to assist you in anyway! They did a wonderful job at making my honeymoon a success!

What am amazing resort. The staff here aims to please, food is amazing, views are to die fo. We stayed for a long weekend & wish we could have stayed forever. There was never a problem finding chairs by the pool or beach. We loved the piano bar!

Went for our twentieth anniversary. Everything was perfect ! Our butlers, Bailey and Richard, did a fantastic job. Housekeeping and the entertainment were also first class ! Thanks Sandals !!

So well looked after. All the staff are so helpful. Feel very relaxed not having to worry about finding a place to eat. The place is big enough to not have cabin fever. All water sports, sailing, scuba, etc (except jet skies) included which goes along way to making this a more reasonable value trip. Staff are 'programmed ' to ask "how are you", whilst the majority do this with heart and mind, some say it without any feeling. A few restaurant staff do not pay full attention, so when they ask about allergies, make sure they have REALLY listened and taken it in.

Airport arrival, just after passport and baggage claim are a bunch of bag carriers who shout out 'Sandals' as though they work for Sandals, they don't. They will load you bags up and walk you 15 meters to a Sandles lounge and then demand payment. Easier to carry your own bag but for the sake of $3 you are contributing towards the welfare of the poorer in the community.

Got married in September. Decided to take the honeymoon here at sandals st lucian Grande. The place was amazing. Views were amazing. Staff very friendly. Big shout out to your best employee Peter that worked the pool bar everyday I was there. He's not your best employee cause he mixes the best drinks. His personality is amazing and made my wife and I feel so welcome here. He deserves to run the entire place

Wonderful! I never wanted to leave. We found booking excursions outside of sandals more exciting. Great food ,great friendly service.

Had a great time here for our honeymoon. The service was great, food was really good, & everything was always clean. There's an awesome park next door with a few hiking spots that offer amazing views of the bay. Beaches on St. Lucia are all public, so there were a few vendors on the beaches sometimes but no one ever harassed us to buy anything. There are a lot of water activities offered by the resort which we took advantage of. We also did a speedboat tour which was also great. You have to go to Josephine's for crepes, they're the best I've ever had. The spa was also really nice. I would go back in a heartbeat.

The best service I have ever received. The staff went above and beyond and the resort was absolutely beautiful! I will definitely be coming back!
