This hotel is 'different'! The gentleman on reception was very efficient and pleasant. As a group of four we had two bedrooms - one was an upgrade quite nice with a stand alone bath in the bedroom. The other was ok nothing to write home about. The pictures on the walls are interesting (you wouldn't want your children seeing them!!!). There was a roof top bar - not as decadent as it sounds. In fact the price of drinks was definitely a put off! Anyway after visiting a show and a sleep we arrived at breakfast. There was only three tables of guests so it was quiet. It was a continental breakfast help
yourself - not at all bad. The service however was awful - after asking the waiter finally came to take our order for tea and coffee. A while later the drinks arrived minus milk - I went to find the waiter and asked for milk. Ten minutes later still no milk and the same waiter was clearing an empty table. By now cold coffee! - oh well, we stood up to leave when a lady waitress stopped and said you need to sign for breakfast (it was included, and we had given our room numbers on arrival). She said she would be right back - ten minutes later we are still waiting to'sign'! The whole breakfast experience was reminiscent of faulty towers. Quite an expensive hotel so
not sure I would go back.
Cool swanky venue, sadly I d never eat here again, as the staff do not have a clue what gluten is. Everything speaks of elegance, beyond this.
The roof bar saved this from being a 1 star review.
Excellent staff who all deserve a raise. Everyone is attentive and professional.
Art on walls is creative and nostalgic. Like touring a museum.
Member of staff was considerably aggressive this evening as I stood at the rooftop bar waiting for a drink. As I made continued attempts to deescalate our encounter he talked over myself and my partner and made physical contact with me despite my protest. I do not believe my behaviour warranted this response and would appreciate an investigation by someone more senior.
The host of the burlesque show in the basement informed us that each of the three bars would be available for use, the staff member made seemingly insincere statements that we would be looked after if we sat away from the bar. I was unsatisfied by these remarks and protested.
Room 208 is tiny and the noise outside the door is ridiculous when people are passing. Overpriced room and not even a complimentary water. Restaurant needs a complete makeover. Won't be staying again.
Nice venue in central London, if you don't know London well seek out new places, it a nice hotel too nice friendly staff too
Absolutely stunning from start to finish everything was cooked to perfection and I will be back asap
Really nice covered rooftop bar with some delicious cocktails! We went there for celebratory drinks as part of a work event and it was a great choice. Great selection of food too - we got q whole bunch of nibbles including fried Halloumi and a cheese board - excellent flavours!
Nice venue. Bar couldn't change a 20 so had to use my card, subsequently got charged a service fee.
Small but nice and quiet hotel in a very vibrant area (Soho).
Just came to the rooftop bar and wow ! Don the operations manager was so so so welcoming , the battened was lovely too , fantastic customer service , I am going to be doing my friends surprise birthday party here for sure ! Exclusive boutique style premium cocktail bar with lounge, proper hidden Gem in Mayfair ! Highly recommend!
I am surpriced this hotel even has any guests. I booked in one of my colleagues from the Europe office for a night stay at this hotel as it's located right across the street from our new office location. She was advised two days before her arrival that the hotel didn't have availability anylonger. Usually hotels offers an alternative hotel, cover the difference in price and arranges transport for the guest - instead she was given a few options for hotels to contact herself which were completely different in price and standard.
I then tried to give the hotel another chance as it really is perfect location for us and I called the hotel to arrange a site visit. The lady in sales asked me to send her an email. I was confused to say the least! I already reached out to her, isn't it then the basics of a sales department to then arrange for the site visit, take my details...that is if you want to sell anything. I insisted and we arranged a date and time for a site visit. I showed up only to be told she was having lunch in the Restaurant.
I am baffled by how this hotel can have any customers at all.
Rooftop bar makes memories.
Last time I was here I ended up getting into the hot tub in my jeans. Enough said.
The hotel is owned by Iron Maiden and is the only place in London where you can order a drum kit 24hours a day...
The downstairs bar is very chic with great cocktails and a fancy atmosphere (and really comfy chairs!), and the rooftop is quite cozy with little couch areas (if you can find an open seat)
Quirky hotel, nicely themed and great little roof bar hidden away in Soho.
Came here for Friday night dinner. The decor of the restaurant and hotel is really cool. The staff are friendly and welcoming. In fact the service was amazing. Unfortunately, the food was awful. We were worried when we saw how eclectic the menu was and we were right to be worried. The food was under seasoned
Ripped us off for drinks we never had! Overcharged claimed we had white russains when my friend is allergic to dairy. Staff r thieves, really disorganised, basic service, one of the worst hotels everrr, dont go here
Superb high end hotel. Wonderfully appointed rooms super comfortable and quiet. Food excellent and cheap for the level of hotel you are in.
24 hour bar and jacuzzi. The bar has great music on saturday afternoons along with a big party crowd. The bar almost always has someone hanging out, at all hours. This hotel has a lot of action in a hip neighborhood.
Convenient location, nice crews, a bit noisy, good breakfast
Good price, good food and lovely staff. The bar itself has a lovely charm you really can't go wrong when coming here.
Awesomeness venue. I am having a masquerade ball tonight and the staff are brilliant and the organizers and management team are lively. See you soon xx
Love this hotel, gorgeous suite, great location and 24 hr rooftop bar, what's not to like!
Stopped here for a few nights, great location on the edge of Soho, Piccadilly Circus and Regent Street. The theme of this place is quite cool with a rock star influence, I love music, so naturally loved the music inspired wall art. Obviously, no parking this central, so parked at a Q-Park in Mayfair. Customer service was very personal and the staff were always friendly. Room service was good quality and quick. The prices are reasonable for a boutique hotel in Soho, but this place has an amazing roof terrace with a bar and its own hot tub I have stayed at other hotels like this and have paid more, might stay here again, might not, I always like to checkout new places. But that doesn't mean I don't recommend this hotel, check it out if you can
Lovely relaxing place, nicely decorated with Jimmi Hendrix portraits, playing good music.
Friendly staff, great service and amazing deal with unlimited prosecco and delicious dinner. Would definitely come back!
Decent hotel bar, average rooftop bar, weird decor.
It's bizarre , a boutique hotel with the atmosphere locked into swinging seventies. Loads of Jimi Hendrix artworks and some golden oldies playing in the background. Room decor in suites also 'different' but comfortable. We hired the 5th floor rooftop bar for my retirement. It's a great venue and doesn't disappoint on the unusual decor. We pre-booked a package of drinks and food and the hotel service was excellent. They very quietly got on serving in the background while the guests had a wonderful time. The finger foods were tasty and fresh. All in all an excellent venue for a party of up to 60 people.
Brilliant location, nice rooms, cool decor, cool rooftop bar. Breakfast a bit poor lean selection, eggs e.g. only for a surcharge. Parking difficult, have taken the Q-Park. Highly recommended!
I attended a film screening at the hotel. From that prospective, it was well maintained and had it's own unique aesthetic, to be sure. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Drinks were relatively expensive, but then most hotel bars are. The Variety room is comfortable and was well suited for the purposes of the event. I look forward to the next time I visit.
Can't wait to be back! :) had the best London days there!
Visited the roof terrace after ordering tickets via Eventbrite to watch the England v Panama World Cup game.
When we arrived, bar was not open, the game was on but with no sound, with the barman gruffly telling us they play house music only. After a while, the sound was sorted out by another more helpful guy.
An amazing hotel. Our room was lovely and the staff cannot do enough for you. I want to go back!
We attended a London Fashion Week event at the hotel and it was amazing! Lovely location with lovely staff!
Went here for a retirement drink and very nice it was too. As the chap going was providing the drinks, no idea what it cost but doubt in West End it is cheap, but you pay for what you get...
Great service from arrival to leaving
Having just opened again - the staff and owner Mark Fuller went out of their way to make up for lost customers... grateful for our support, from receptionist, bar and restaurant staff, to Mark himself, they were all friendly and helpful..making my birthday weekend really enjoyable
Room fab and great location... & you might even see or hear an ageing rocker in there...We will go again and hope to see some events/shows when they can happen safely again ... Thanks to Mark and staff
Really poor 'gentleman's' afternoon tea. Tea not that great, tasting no better than you'd expect from marks and spencer
Location and room were great staff really helpful, the only thing wrong was there where no tea or coffee making facilities in the room , overall a great place to stay in London
Nice evening with friends, the staff had some commotion going on with refurb that we didn't really notice, but they were so accommodating and apologetic and the free drinks were a nice bonus.
Mothers Day Afternoon Tea. Excellent gift from my daughter. What a lovely place. Very welcoming staff, polite.
Lovely friendly staff and brilliant room. Breakfast was tasty, great place to stay.
The hotel location was good but The staff was not cooperative, room is not clean until you call to make it up for you, also the room are old and damaged I was surprised how the are rate as 4 star and the decoration is damaged and the toilet sink is broken after push and negotiating with staff the change the room, the bed is not comfortable at all.
This us my first & last visit to this hotel.
Charged for a bottle of wine and a chocolate bar on room service on our credit card which we didn t use. Two weeks later and numerous emails later they are still investigating it. Poor poor service
Great food and great service. The music was great but just a bit too loud.
This hotel is in the centre of town, has well proportioned rooms, is nicely decorated, has lovely staff and an incredibly soft mattress. I had a wonderful nights sleep and will certainly be back - for drinks in the rooftop terrace if not for an overnight sleep.
We enjoyed our stay, but there were a few things that did let it down.
The location is perfect and the stunning display of flowers around the door sets a great tone.
The receptionist was really uninterested, almost to a point or rudeness. It was really unsettling and totally at odds with the look of the lobby, which was nicely designed.
The hotel has some great artwork throughout, and a really design based vibe.
Strangely the corridor outside our room had random pieces of furniture, I ve no idea why. Some of this vanished while we were there some didn t.
Checkout was equally unfriendly. Based on that we didn t eat at the restaurant, although it looked really nice.
Great decor and friendly staff. Food was good, bottomless prosecco was constantly kept topped up.
Nice hotel, with special style. The glasspainting in the reception is very nice.
The networking event was hold in the bottom room, which was quite spacious with good sound and bar
Attended the adult christmas panto which the hotel hosts. A great night had for the second year in a row!
Amazing location, great service, across the street from Pret A Manger, attached to a cool bar, 2 minute walk from Kingly Court. Perfect!
Told to be quiet by a bartender because we dared to laugh while we were enjoying a few cocktails. AVOID!!!
Great service, cool roof bar, bottomless prosecco lunch delivered with style. Thank you.
Great roof bar. Good service, not too pricey. They will uncover the Jacuzzi if you ask..
Only went to the restaurant. The service was pleasant and my food was fine, but it took a long time to come - which was a surprise as we were the only people in the restaurant.
After struggling to organise my 25th birthday party, Shaun the concierge manager took hold of the reigns and organised everything for me, he made everything so easy, Patrick the restaurant manager looked after us on the night and made it so, so special for me. I honestly cant recommend Sanctum highly enough, the food was beautiful & so were the surroundings, the team were incredible and I had one of the most memorable evenings of my life. Thank you! x
Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. We arrived before check in, expecting to leave our bags and return when the room was ready but there was no need. They were ready for us! Room was very clean, comfortable and ornately decorated with glitzy walls, colorful artwork, and cowhide floral ottomans. Hookah comes out at night and there is a fully stocked 24/hr bar! My only complaint is the slow moving lift but hey, at least they have one!!
I used the bar upstairs and downstairs, and saw a performance there. The upstairs bar is beautiful, I would definitely consider it for bringing friends, or celebrating. The cocktails in the upstairs bar are almost double the cost of other More
No view but good, alternative music & deco. Also a little more exclusive, not bad for the area
Visited for our honeymoon, it was Absolutely amazing.Such a beautiful hotel. Room was clean and superbly decorated. Breakfast was delicious. The hot tub on the roof was fantastic. Staff were very helpful and friendly, couldn't ask for more.
Outdated and very tacky. The hotel s rock n roll theme is definitely not my taste but that doesn t mean I can t appreciate a certain design when it s done well. In this case, it was over the top and looked cheap. The beds were also very uncomfortable.
Edit: I was in room 206, booking was under someone else s name. The bed felt like an air mattress, I even lifted the covers and saw the Aerobed logo.
Luxury hotel, bar and venue. All you'd expect in central London.
Beautiful decoration. Friendly, helpful staff.
Expensive drinks, but conducting the environment, no surprise there.
A somewhat quieter street for your average West End Saturday night. But you wouldn't want to do luxury noisily.
Does an OK bottomless Sunday Lunch, would better with more drinks options tho.
Chic, hip and all that for sure! Travel all over the world and this recent, first time stay was marvelous! Just by chance on our part, the stay was kicked off by fashion week and an incredible party, and each day was a fine experience. Mark's a great host and the staff was friendly and always helpful. Great location too! We WILL be back!
This hotel is absolutely fantastic a rock n roll themed gem. It is in a great location walking distance to everything. The rooms were stunning and each one was unique. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and more. The restaurant was delicious and we even met a couple of celebrities during our stay. Very cool :)
We actually booked this hotel through a lottery and boy did we win the lottery!!! Fantastic hospitality and service with personality galore. Highly recommend for the rooms and the location as well.
It was great, the food was tasty and served perfectly, the prosecco was perfectly chilled
I booked the Sanctum Soho for our wedding anniversary after seeing it on Secret Escapes with 47% discount on a junior suite! The rooms shown looked HUGE, so I booked, even though it was still over my usual price range! As previous reviewers More
Cooles Hotel. The Karma Sanctum Soho Hotel has joined forces with Rock Cab Tours London's premier Rock & Roll tour guide company to bring you a unique Rock & Roll and gastronomic experience: a two hour tour of some of the most famous musical landmarks in history, followed by our Ace of Spades Afternoon Tea in the Wild Heart Bar & Grill.
Lovely place - old rock stile hotel in middle of London
Thoroughly disappointed. Note: we only went to the rooftop to watch the World Cup for food and drinks. The screen was tiny and only about 15 people could get a relatively good view (incl. the sun's glare). They wouldn't turn on the bigger, better screen in the fish tank room (nobody was in the room and even if they were, I'm pretty sure they don't care about Microsoft fish).
The worst part was the food it took ages to order and then over half an hour to arrive. I had to go down 4 floors to find out what was going on and the front of house just called the barman upstairs... surely it's the kitchen you should be asking? Anyway, even the flat bread took over 30 mins and then they forgot the seaweed pesto that goes with it! The lobster roll had a 50p sized amount of lobster disguised by a mountain of mayo. We couldn't do anything about it because we prepaid. Just when we thought we could just leave, this waft of manure came out of nowhere! Laughable now but we would never go back. Not recommended. Absolutely not what a 5* hotel should be.
