Hotel is a bit of a let down. Location is excellent, but after that it goes downhill. Only stayed for one night but was enough. Has a quirky style, which is fine although it's a bit dated and rough around the edges. Room was large, but felt a bit grubby. Also has a roof top bar (apparently) not that I could see it as it was booked out for a function and wasn't allowed up - wasn't told prior to booking. Had food in the restaurant, staff were friendly but hadn't a clue what was going on. Food was okay. Similar staff experience at breakfast except this time food was dreadful. Wouldn't rush back.

Ate the the restaurant with a friend and was a lovely experience. Food was off a set menu as this was an 'experience dinner'. The puff pastry pizza was full of flavour and wholesome.
The waitress, unfortunately didn't get her name was so welcoming and friendly and attentive.
The place is nice and cosy inside off London's busy Soho!
I stayed here for an event which room place in the hotel over the weekend and absurdly loved it. I'm fascinated by skulls so was happy to spot the little blighters detailing the wallpaper, wall art and pieces decorating the hotel in a contemporary fashion. The roof garden bar was a lovely way to warm up our evening with a champagne reception and the humungous walk-in shower helped wash off the fabulous party we experienced in many of the rooms all over the hotel. We will booking again to stay in this luxurious place located in the heart of the City.
It is clean, the treatment is pleasant, a rocky atmosphere and it is well located, although at night they play loud music on the roof (I went with my one-year-old son) and the food is very expensive for a small amount.
Awesome spot, which makes up for the prices (nothing in London is really cheap). I get that they're going for a grunge rock vibe, but small rooms look even smaller if they're dark and they could use a little help on their approach to lighting. Our bathroom had some cool vintage style fittings, but there were (one example) little chips missing from the porcelain in the sink and toilet, which made it look dirty even though it was clean. But on the good side: a big, comfortable four poster bed, not as noisy as I was expecting at night, and helpful staff.
Front of house customer service absolutely atrocious. When I asked for a disabled toilet the lady looked at me up and down and asked what for! I mean seriously? Many other complaints
Apparently there is a 15% service charge just to be given a drink at the rooftop bar. I twice asked for the service to be waived earlier in the night. Later on one highly unfriendly barman refused to accept it. Didn't buy another drink there again. Never will. Forcing people to pay a service charge then becomes "the price". Not even sure if it's legal...
Trendy Bohemian boutique hotel on the edge of Soho close to Regent St. Relaxed chilled raucous and outrageous all in one. Rockstar Fridays ....amazing dinner and unlimited cocktails
Went here for Halloween and had an amazing night with drinks and dinner! Food was top notch! Best chicken liver parfait I've had in a while! Service was great! Need to book a room to experience the full hotel!!
I recently held a surprise birthday party for my boyfriend on the rooftop of the Karma Sanctum Soho Hotel. It could not have gone any better. The venue s cool, quirky decor perfectly lends itself to a celebration event. I d like to extend a huge thank you to the owner and staff for playing along and helping to keep the surprise going when I checked in with my boyfriend right up until the big reveal on the roof. Sherene s help in managing the event was second to none. Mark was a great host and I d like to praise him for his acting skills and discretion which went a long way when we entered. All staff throughout were helpful and friendly. Placing our room conveniently by the rooftop stairs allowed for complete comfort throughout the night. Thanks to all. It was a day to remember and I look forward to returning soon. I would not hesitate to hold another event here.
La creme de la creme of hotels. AMAZING location, and sheer classy rock and roll vibes. Sexy, sumptuous and sultry interior design. Just wonderful hotel.
Fantastic management , Brilliant staff, Great hotel - this is a pearl in London with a stylish tradition of rock , and Lovely food -this is it ... cool
Location is fantastic in center if the center of every thing with supermarket close 20 sec walk and metro station just 3-4 min walk Room is very small while I upgraded to superior room No place to put my bag Bar on the roof is nice and the barman from Kosovo is very professional. Would definitely back again to that small room :-)
I never believed a pub-hotel can be so artistic.Every wall in the hotel is well-designed with picture frames and artworks and to top it all up the staff support is top-notch. A very good management I must confess.
Seriously the best hotel experience in London!! Amazing room, great food, great drinks (you HAVE to try the Sanctum Arrow cocktail it is SO NICE).
It really is a hidden treasure, I don't know if you can book dinner without staying at the hotel but you really should ring and ask, if local as you won't regret it. You honestly wouldn't expect a 5 star hotel to have such great restaurant prices.
The Sanctum is something that you need to experience.
well that's #embarrassing especially for the #owner booked this place well in advance n they could not get it right after 3 goes! n there was no customers there apart from us they must of been busy lol. don't recommend this place. Was disappointed as we were looking forward to it. -0 out of 10. Also quick to take deposit but did not have the booking or correct order.
First night of a new menu and it wasn't anything to disappoint. Amuse-bouches were a suprising treat whch went down very well (salmon & crab.. Done with a twist!) Could not fault anything from start to finish (subject to the price of a double gin!!) All food was cooked and presented very well, perfect timing throughout between courses and the staff were very attentive. It is a pleasant atmosphere. Cosy booths, half decent lighting, good wine and seasonal food selections, and even better music! It was a cosy Monday evening for this encounter with the Sanctum and everything was well. No idea what the rooms are like as we decided to see what else the west end had to offer, and had other accommodation plans, but the Sanctum set it up nicely and am sure that if the accommodation is as good as the menu, that you shall surely be very content. Got what I paid for, and were more than satisfied. Will surely pass through there again for another pleasant evening. We all left smiling, full and content. Cheers to all, keep up the good work.
The food was good, but the service definitely was not.
I arrived and asked reception where the gentleman's tea was and was pointed towards a room and left to my own devices. I entered the room and there was a lady on the phone in there and no one else at all. I looked around to see if there were any members of staff. Eventually the lady on the phone said to whoever she was talking to "hold on a moment", then to me, "Are you here just looking at the art or are you here for food?". I explained that I had a booking and gave the name. She returned to her phone call saying "Sorry, I'm going to have to go." Then to me, "We've had a member of staff not show up." I repeated my explanation, giving the name of the booking. She didn't bother to look it up or find out if it was still there. She told me to sit down by the door and wait while she walked off. No further explanation, no confirmation of the booking or pre-payment, no use of "please", "sir", "thank you" or "sorry". Eventually (about 15 minutes later) she asked me and my three friends who had shown up by now, if we wanted to wait for anyone else or start.
Eventually, and with much reluctance, she went off to check, came bankc and confirmed that there was a booking and pre-payment. From then on, the level of service continued without any politeness or consideration that either I or my friends could see, such as a fairly reasonable question at an afternoon tea: "Do you have Jasmine tea?". Her response, "I wish". No further explanation. "What teas do you have?". Her response, "Black tea, English breakfast, Early Grey, black tea, oh I already said that...". No attempt to check a list, never mind provide us with one. "Do you have mint tea?" "Yes". And on it went like that. Spare ribs were included in the pretty good selection of food, but no finger bowls offered despite everyone having to use their hands. This lady spent the vast majority of the rest of our time there chatting to someone whom I think also works there (it's difficult to tell), while keeping her back to us. Mercifully, this meant that service was eventually picked up by a much younger and much better member of staff.
If you are buying your other half an afternoon tea, go to Sketch, they fall over themselves to serve you there and provide and endless supply of whatever you liked the first time around. As for the Soho Sanctum hotel, apparently it is owned by a chain that is heavily invested in by Iron Maiden. It felt like it. I will never return.
We stayed here in April 2018. The room was offered at significantly low prices compared to other hotels in the area. Found out why: there is construction going on right next door and pedestrian walkway is closed off. It s very loud in the morning. It didn t really bother us because we had early morning schedules but if you re planning to sleep in, stay away. They offer ear plugs which is nice. The room is small but that s standard in London. The bathroom has its pros and cons. Shower is incredible but sinks are one of those old fashioned split hot/cold spout. Our room wasn t made on the last night we stayed there. We felt some of the staff wasn t very friendly. The gentleman who checked us in was stand-offish and no one greeted us when we went in and out of the hotel. We asked the staff to book us a taxi and we were told to walk next street over to the taxi stand... which is true but it took us more than 20 minutes to grab a taxi! Calling a taxi would ve been faster. Overall good price for the stay only if you don t mind the construction noises. Hope this helps.
Watched the 'Snow White' adult panto and had drinks. Panto was average, made worse by the drunk teenage girls in the audience who couldn't handle their drink. Drinks were very overpriced. Staff were lovely though
It's a nice place, has a fake rooftop bar in that you can't see anything from it, so you might as well be on the street, ok cocktails but decent service
This hotel is fantastic. We ve stayed at The Sanctum Soho several times over the last few years and we re always happy to return. The hotel is located in the heart of one of the London s trendiest neighborhoods. Just steps away Regent Street, Carnaby Street and Piccadilly Circus the hotel offers easy access to entertainment, fantastic restaurants and shopping.
There is a restaurant located just off the lobby and a rooftop bar. The restaurant offers indoor and sidewalk seating. On nice days take advantage of the weather and the people watching. There are also Happy Hour promotions and hookahs available in the evenings. The overall atmosphere and decor celebrate the hotel s rock and roll connections. The walls feature photos and autographs from some of rock s biggest legends. Skip the elevator and take the stairs for a peek at the photographs lining the stairway! The rooftop bar offers signature cocktails, a fireplace and jacuzzi, available 24hours a day for hotel guests. The rooms are a comfortable size and suites are available if you need more space. Great amenities are also available, many upon request, including salon/spa services in your room.
The best part of the Sanctum Soho is the people. Sherene her team make it their mission to ensure an enjoyable experience.for their guests. If you have concerns during your stay let them know. They are never lacking a smile or desire to assist. This is what keeps us coming back.
The best and best location you're in Soho a minute to Regent St.. And a few minutes to Oxford Street and just couple of walking to Piccadilly Street so it's excellent location. surrounded by many restaurants, bars, shops and also Massage if you want its really nice location. The room is big enough with window and safety box tbe bathroom is big enough with bathtub. The decoration of the hotel is not modern its old style but its lovely the elevator is good and big enough. Back to the design of Hotel is old British style. Food is good and there's a bar on the 5th floor with smoking area and Jacuzzi and nice bar and restaurants in ground floor. I like the hotel for not more than couples they will love it.
Best thing about this place is never having to come back.... -Forgot to pick us up from the airport, declining to accept responsibility until evidence of multiple correspondence was provided. Still waiting for apology. -The automatic doors to get in aren't operating and the staff won't leave the desk to assist.
This is before getting to the room.....
-TV not assembled properly in the room. Took more then 24hrs to get service, after I put it back together. -bathroom door latch can't close and the fan can't be turned off. -window once opened can't be closed without lifting it into place. Clearly broken admit hangs at an angle. -Despite many basic things you would expect in a far less expensive hotel, there is still a beavy of tacky-to-tasteless items to purchase in the room.
If you are a hotel, do the basic things a hotel is meant to do competently before clearly overreaching beyond the basic premise of hospitality to attempt to sell an image of sophistication.
Holiday Inns, Howard Johnsons, Formula 1, and Motel 6s, need not worry about this place for competition. Save the money and get an Air B&B in the same location.
Unwelcoming rude receptionist at the front desk. Was shocked by how suspicious she was asking me twenty questions though I specifically told her I was try to familiarize myself with the hotel and wanted to take pictures for a review of the place. She said I had to get approval before being allowed to take pictures ? To which I replied I enter hotel lobbies all the time and take pictures with out any problems. Needless to say I left without taking pictures nor with an apology. In all honesty I didn t see anything worthy of a photo and I will certainly not be suggesting this hotel when asked to give London hotel suggestions. Your front of staff, at least the lady I met, are in desperate need of training all over again.
We went for a Gent's afternoon high tea. Everything was lovely, nice atmosphere and helpful staff, I just unfortunately didn't think it was worth what we paid.
We tried to tell them that their customers had been waiting outside of their hotel for over 30 minutes at 1 in the morning without anyone answering the hotel phone, but they were very arrogant and defensive. We are just trying to help you! Visitors expect better service from a London hotel and we weren t even guests. Hopefully you can improve service at your front desk...
I can not understand the TripAdvisor ratings at all! The rooms are tiny small. The bathrooms are not acceptable in terms of size and interior. It looks more like an hotel where you spent just an hour time ... Absolutely overpriced.
After looking at the website I was looking forward to visiting Karma Sanctum. Last night I went to a private film viewing there. Unfortunately my experience was a let down. The decor can only be described as a mishmash of oddities that have been thrown together by someone who has absolutely no idea of how to dress a venue but thinks they do. To be honest the whole place looked tired and unloved.
First of all My friend and I went to the restaurant for some nibbles before the film started. We had salt and pepper prawns and hummus with flat bread. Both dishes were grossly over priced and of very poor quality.
Thankfully the film saved the night but I won t be visiting Karma Sanctum again nor recommending it. This is another venue that only survives due to its fantastic location not what it has to offer.
