San Jose BMW is the shop of choice for South Bay BMW riders. They have a full floor of new and used vehicles, a complete parts and accessory shop, and highly professional service department. The shop is very community-focused and hosts many rider focused events throughout the year.

I was interested in buying a bike and I had some questions, so I went on the online chat room. I was really disappointed in the customer service. They were really rude and unprofessional. I will absolutely be taking my business elsewhere.

EDIT: changing my rating to 5 stars. Pete called me and tried to clear things and truly tried to fix any problems I still had. They were just having a very busy day when I did not have a good experience.

The sales (Amy) and parts (Bill) and service (Pete) departments are all great!

I went to SJ BMW to purchase some riding gear for my husband. The staff was very friendly to help me right when I walked in door! Great customer service and they worked with my budget to make sure I was still able to get the gear I needed. My husband wears his gear all the time and loves it and I feel safer when he rides! Thanks SJ BMW

Your experience with the service department may vary.

Okay, the sales department is great. I went in to test ride a Zero SR a year ago and it was a pleasant experience. Since then, I got a Zero SR, got into an accident and had it in their service department for the insurance claim.

Overall, they got the repairs done pretty quickly, given the damage. Randy was always helpful and attentive when I called him for updates.

The reason I am giving three stars is because, when I picked up the bike, I unknowingly rode home from San Jose to Tracy (65 miles) with no working brake light and reversed rear turn signals. Apparently, their tech didn't check to make sure these worked properly before I picked up the bike. **This is a huge safety issue and I am surprised I didn't get rear ended because people wouldn't know when I was braking.** I had to ride back the next day and spent the whole day in SJ so they could fix these issues (most of the time was me waiting for the bike to charge so I could ride home lol).

Overall, make sure you do a walk-around of your bike when you pick it up. Check lights, horn, braking, all the basic safety features.

I am on the fence about bringing my bike here again. We'll see.

Love this dealership! Bought a used RR here last year. They were very cool, not high pressure and gave me a square deal.

Just did my service here. Great! They didn't iack me around. Quick and professional. It is great they guve you a loaner bike. Much appreciated! I'll be back.

Oh yeah, coffe, water serice and comfy couches while you wait

Amazing. Called for a F & R tire swap on my RR, and that same day they were not only able to fit me in and get me on my way within hours, but they also gave me a loaner bike as well. Very knowledgeable and professional reps. Will be visiting them more often in the future; highly recommended!!

How can I say enough good things about this place?...

How can I say enough good things about this place? Let's start, I wanted a white s1000r in the middle of summer (hard time to find that bike in NorCal) and Joe in sales was kind enough to track me one down (down in Hollywood) and get it shipped up to sj BMW within enough time for me to get the cash off offer BMW was offering that month. Once I had the bike, I was introduced to the service department...WOW, they go above and beyond to make sure the customer is satisfied and I can understand why they have such a good reputation (many police / chp bikes can be seen there getting service / tires...all they do is ride..tells you again how excellent the service department is. Even when parts aren't meant to fit on your bike (like race rearsets meant for a rr) the service department can put them on and improve the rideability of the bike(which is hard to do...it's a BMW). I have to give a shout out to Willie as well..I'm not sure his official title, but this guy knows EVERYTHING and is more that willing to share his knowledge. Not only that, he went above and beyond on my already custom to the bike rearsets and modified even further to fine tune the spacing of the rearsets for my giant feet lol. This is one of the best if not THE best BMW motorcyle dealership / service department in North America. Coming from a Yamaha and being very familiar with their dealerships, San Jose BMW is TWO steps above that (at least). I will be a San Jose BMW customer for life (I am extremely picky in the motorcycle world...sj BMW checks every box) and since owning a BMW, I will most likely buy BMW motorcyles from here on. The new 2016 s1000 xr is one fun bike for people later on in life, i could see myself getting one down the road. Bottom line, this is a top of the line dealership. Go check it out for yourself!

Just purchased my second bike from this dealership and only have great things to say about them. The owner, Chris, sets a very positive, team-oriented tone that carries through the rest of the staff, from Amy in sales, Pete in Service, the ready-to-find-it guys in parts & accessories, they all bring a great can-do attitude to everything they do.

Fantastic. Really top notch customer service in parts / accessories / motorcycles.. even if you're just stopping by for a chat. I've test ridden the S1000R and RR. They don't even bat an eye when you ask to ride the most expensive, advanced bikes they carry. Awesome.

Beautiful dealership that shines among an otherwise desolate commercial San Carlos St.

Like most new dealerships the showroom is immaculate with antique motorworks throughout as accents to the most modern models of BMW, Vespa and Piaggio to name a few. The accessory department offers a wide variety of apparel and aftermarket upgrades that can be installed on site for minimal fees!!

Just took delivery of 18 R1200RT. It was a special order so it took a LONG time to get here from Berlin. No fault on the part of SJ BMW - my timing was a little off.

When I arrived to take delivery I was very impressed at how organized they were. One staffer walked me through all of the accessories I'd ordered and made arrangements for a couple of items that were delayed.

Next stop was to be introduced to the service dept and Service Manager. Got helpful and clear insight as to how they do business and what I could to do to make the best of my visits. Was able to schedule run-in service right on the spot .

We got through the DMV paperwork and financials in 15 minutes (I LOVE that!)

I was then walked through all of the major features of the bike and had all of my questions answered. My salesperson was VERY knowledgeable and just as excited as I was about my new BMW.

I was a little nervous about first ride in an area I am unfamiliar with so arranged (for a very reasonable fee) to have the bike delivered (~70 miles away). The dealership was slammed with people taking delivery of new bikes and looking for their next bike so the Service Manager was unable to commit to a delivery date/time. That same evening my bike was delivered to my driveway (having been lovingly and professionally loaded into a large van purpose built for the task).

I am extremely satisfied with the entire process of shopping, getting recommendations and insights, placing the order and finally taking delivery of this fantastic motorcycle.

I am absolutely confident that SJ BMW will continue to take great care of me and my bike in years ahead.

Love this place. Can't tell you the countless times they made me feel at home and the toys they have everywhere makes me forget about the fact I work over 80 hours a week. Decisions decisions ;) ah yes there is is one guy name Billy, Silly, Willy, or wait it's Lilly yep that's it that can help out. Be sure to let him know I sent you :)

You won't change the tires on my bike because you don't work on Suzuki? Fine, no problem. You grab my motorcycle as I'm about to get on it? Not cool. I made sure I wasn't in the way, so you had no reason to move my bike. I told you not to touch it, and that I was getting on it right then. You shouldn't be touching my bike if you're not going to work on it.

The guy working at the service desk was cool even though he was clearly overwhelmed on a Friday afternoon. The guy that came out of the shop was not cool. In fact, he acted like he wanted to start a fight. Even before he grabbed my bike.

So, been going here for about two years now, things have changed to be much better in all aspects. Nothing really to complain about this visit. They are a well stocked BMW dealer . They are somtimes Slammed but let you know and get to you as required.. Lots of Bikes to look at , apperal ,accessories. No real deals but quailty products as most of the BMW dealers in the bay area and beyond. For me the big change is the bike sales, pretty low key if thats what you want , willing to talk to give you the information you need without pressure other then to let you what is going on . Not like it was about 16 months ago. I didn't buy my 17 Ralley GS there but have purchased many add ons, Boxes, helmets intercoms and service . After a little incident last summer I gave them a break to continue my persuit of MY BMW experience, Jackets , Pants lights etc. I found myself back this season to exchange some boots my wife purchased for me . Like night and day the experience was as you would want to expect from someone selling you quailty gear. No deal but they were helpful getting me what I wanted. Hopfully they keep this path going . The bay area BMW dealers have been a good experience for me understading they are a premimum brand dealers.

It is hard to get these people to reply to emails and trying to get through by phone is not any better.

The bikes are nice but expensive to upkeep and have too many problems. Next time I am buying a Honda.

Definitely the most friendly and welcoming dealer I have been in. A true Mom & Pop shop where both Mom and Pop actually work there and engage with their customers and employees..
Only good positive vibes going on from everyone on the team. Thank you for the great experience!

I was sent to BMW San Jose by BMW of North America after another authorized shop thoroughly screwed up my bike. Right from the get go these guys called often to update me on the repairs. Even with the warranty issues they coordinated with the other shop to pay for the damages, instead of making me deal with it. When I came to pick up my bike I was impressed how well informed they all were about my bike and the situation. Everyone was very laid back and great to work with. I will always use these guys for any repairs in the future.

I went to SJ BMW to purchase a used Africa Twin, and their customer services is the best.

Everybody was great, Cory, Amy, Benny, Bill, Willy.

I have bought 6 motorcycles from dealers in the past, both, new and used. And by far this experience has been the best.

The dealership has a really cool vibe, friendly and very welcoming.

Guys, than you so much for the whole experience.

Cheers!

I ve come to SJ BMW for just about everything, bikes, service, gear and it has been a pleasure every time. These guys are BMW lifers and know their stuff from race bikes to scooters. I wish I could spend more time at the showroom bar while I sip on the complimentary organic coffee!

Good shop with friendly folks. Accommodated a replacement without appointment for a faulty kill switch. Ordered a replacement key but someone forgot to put in the order for a month and half until I called to enquire. But this is a minor quirk and their service and staff more than make up for the experience

I don t like posting reviews but I feel like I need to here.
The guys in the service shop probably don t care anymore. Buying a bike was a great experience. Servicing not so much. They didn t order all my parts in time and even though I specified loose/unaligned steering, the technician didn t fix the loose handlebar mounts.

They had the bike for a week, waiting for the parts they didn t order ahead of time to arrive. On the last day, they noticed they needed different mounting brackets for the aux lights to mount on the new crash bars they were supposed to install.

To top it off, the technician recommended changing break fluid at 18k service check even though the bike is at 17200 miles and I m leaving for a several thousand miles long trip. Truly confidence inspiring service.

Because of the late parts order and the job taking so long, I didn t have time to do anything about none of this before my trip. I guess they have too many customers to care anymore and don t have much focus or attention anymore, shame. Quick to nod, not so good in understanding what needs to be done to a bike. Will take my bike elsewhere next time, I don t trust these guys to do what I need anymore.

This is my dealership.

This is my dealership.

I can go to closer places, but I choose to come here.

I just received my 2015 Gs after going thru a lengthy service (no fault of service dept), the engine sounds better than it did mile #1!

Their engineer Zack must practice Voodoo as whatever magic he did on my motor works. I mean he nailed it.

I came Saturday to pickup my bike after 6 weeks (again, delay had NOTHING to do with the service department), and there it was shiny and gleaming with awesomeness...these guys rock.

They stand behind their work and will not close "the case" until the customer is satisfied.

If you ride the best, why not have the best service people look after you?

Regarding the people. Top notch. Pete, Chad, Zach, everyone.

I cannot express enough how satisfied I am with san jose bmw.

As a new rider fresh out of MSS I visited a couple dealerships in the area before deciding to purchase my bike and gear from San Jose BMW. I have no regrets. I loved that Willy wasn't pushy and took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for.

Top marks all around for the knowledgeable staff, friendly environment, and excellent customer service.

Would highly recommend this dealership for all your motorcycle needs!

LJ and Cory were both excellent. I felt that my time was valued, and they both had expert knowledge of the bikes I was interested in. We also had a great conversation, and they were very friendly.

I came to San Jose for work from Minneapolis on my 2000 R1100 RT. The family was to follow later, so I was all alone, just me and my boxer- loaded down like a pack mule.

Sure enough, on the 2000 mile trek, problems developed. Things started vibrating and grinding, and I hoped she would hold together until I could get into town and at least start my new job. Finally it got bad enough that I limped it into SJ BMW an hour before they opened. I would have to take a chance on an unknown shop in an unfamiliar city, because my bike wasn't going any further.

The guys at San Jose BMW absolutely took care of me. A mechanic arriving early for work guessed (accurately!) at the problem, and reassured me that they most likely even had the parts in stock. They shifted their already busy schedule to get me back on the road the same day.

As a stranger in town, with no friends, no support, and suddenly no transportation, I was utterly at their mercy. They went above and beyond the call to get me back on the road. I cannot say enough good things about SJ BMW. You were my angel of mercy when I needed it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and from depths of my boxer!

Good experience here. I like this dealer. They're kinda like a family with a few quirks. The sales experience was good, and didn't have a pushy/greedy feel to it. They have good inventory on-site. I wish they had longer hours in the evening a couple days a week.

Thank you for the over the top experience every time guys! I live in Oregon but after hearing about the excellent service, experts in race tech, and general quality of folks, i do all my BMW Motorcycle Business at San Jose BMW. I feel like i'm part of the family and really enjoy the team at San Jose. From Bill in parts, to Joe in Sales and Willie in service, I can't say enough about what a great team of folks they have. A true credit to the industry and to BMW.

Our issue is not with our new bike, but the service at this particular dealership. I had heard over and over again that BMW has the best dealerships, with the best customer service. Unfortunately for us that was not the experience. When we purchased our bike we also bought a trunk and crash bars to be installed. They told us 3 days max before we got the bike with the parts installed and they would deliver it. A week later we pick up our bike, from the shop with no parts, after multiple phone calls. "Oh we don't have the parts, they will get her in 2, 5, 7 days." "Oh still don't have the parts," etc.. and on and on. Finally, we will have the parts on the June 19th and we will come to you to install them. June 20th rolls around and no call. We call them to only have "oh ya they are here waiting to be installed. Did you make an appointment?" Not only did they not call us to let us know the parts arrived multiple days ago, they asked us to come to the dealership to have them installed after weeks of waiting. So far customer service at this dealership is terrible and no one can keep their word.

Bought a bike there, they claim bike inspection done prior to selling. My bike came with front worn pads with less than 1mm left and a bad driving light switch. Who knows about the fluids, will not trust inspections. Do your own if you buy from them. Prices are competitive and very friendly. Salesman are not following social distancing with customers, no mask no plexy glass.

Someone reach to me offering to replace the worn parts. That was a nice gesture and will up the rating for careing about customers feed back. Hopefully there will be improvement going forward. Thanks.

John and Amy were wonderful helping my husband and I with our first motorcycle purchase. They were super easy going and full of great ideas and tips! They even made sure my Shitzu Charles was well taken care of and had water at all times. :) I would highly recommend San Jose BMW to anyone looking for a great customer service experience.

Got a service done and when I got my bike back, I could see something new: small paint marks on the critical screws, so that it is immediately visible if they get loose.

So this shop not only cares about doing the job and getting the bike out, but also about your long term safety.

Enough said, I ll be back!

Thanks to the team at San Jose BMW for looking after our rides. We were on a trip across the US and needed an oil change on short notice. Chad was a great help and got us on our way in no time. We would highly recommend these guys!

Great dealership to take your bike for service. They know what they're doing and are very accommodating. Customer parking can be a little cramped especially if you bring your bike over on a trailer.
