I never really had the plan or budget to buy a BMW motorcycle, like ever - All I was looking for was a better bike than my 2016 FZ-07, as I grew comfortable riding in CA. But destiny had it otherwise the day I decided to casually check out the BMW motorrad showroom in San Jose. I was checking out the S1000R in particular, but ended up test riding S1000R, the RnineT Classic/Pure and - low and behold, the RGS1200 Adventure!! I was glad that I met Cory, who is extremely knowledgable about the bikes they sell (well, he has a 2018 1200GSA - an avid rider for 40+ years!!!). Special mention to the showroom experience - I felt very welcome, properly engaged, all my silly questions were answered with atmost professionalism, and extremely friendly souls all around, including the owners' dogs :):). The choice was obvious - my concept of riding bikes completely changed for good, after I test rode the 1200GSA. Two weeks and multiple test rides later (yes, you can test ride as many times as you want), I took my brand new 2018 R1200GSA home yesterday!!! Huge shout out to Cory, Amy, Ben, Chad (Service) and the entire San Jose BMW team for making my experience truly memorable - Premium outlet indeed!!!

Would not recommend for servicing a Zero. Inflated the hours on the services I asked for (for example, installing a rapid charger is 2.5 hours standard, with most dealers rounding up to 3 - these guys wanted to charge 4 hours). Further, despite making an appointment a week prior, and calling to confirm it, when arriving I was told that they wouldn't be able to get me in till the following week. The service order I had had the wrong services on it as well (for example motor commissioning on my bike is every other service interval but they put that on my order incorrectly).

Labor rate is also the highest I've seen in the Bay area at $175/hr.

I get the feeling that they are not interested in servicing Zero's at all despite being a dealer for them. Another Zero owner I talked to said they were unable to order a part for his bike and he went elsewhere as well. Cannot recommend these guys in good faith.

Stopped at this BMW Dealer/Shop on the last leg of a cross country ride from VA to CA. At the time I was in need of a tune up and new chain to my s1000xr. I wound up paying for a 12,000 mile service rather than a 6,000 service. This decision was made after the attendant checking my bike noticed that my brake fluid seemed old. Being that I had a major service completed 4 months earlier, I felt there was no way that the brake fluid could be old. Valuing safety over money, I went ahead and requested that they do everything that they could to get the bike back into spec so that I could continue my trip (including the brake fluid change)... The maintenance shop also found time to squeeze me in on a busy Saturday morning (being that I was in need of an emergency repair to my chain). The Mechanics had my bike feeling like brand new afterwards. Everything from the electronic suspension, brake lever, clutch lever to the kickstand was checked, adjusted and brought back into spec. The work and service that the Team does at this shop is A1. They addressed things that I felt were missed from service visits at another shop. I highly recommend San Jose BMW Motorcycles!

It says a lot about a business when their chief concern is the service they provide. Most folks believe that businesses exist to make money, but what sets a business apart in terms out customer service (and what makes small businesses amazing) is that they actually exist to provide a service - to fill a market need that wasn't there. I think the best businesses focus on providing that service as their chief leading principal, and the profit is a side effect of that focus.

My experience, from sales to service, I've felt this dealership wants to get you on a bike, not to make sale, but because of a mutual passion. I've originally wrote off BMW as a luxury a brand I can't afford, and my previous experience working for a luxury dealership, I know they rip you off, but BMW Motorrad is not BMW and this was one of my first experiences where I felt happy instead of violated. And the only reason why I even reached out is because they are the nearest Zero dealer, and I really wanted an Electric motorcycle (though I wasn't above going to Scotts Valley).

Part of the great experience is the personable staff who share the same passion. My first contact was with Amy, and she's amazing! She was knowledgeable, we traded riding stories, and she provided with everything I needed to make a sound decision - test rides, literature, news, contact to sell my Harley, worked with me to get the best financing possible, and most importantly, she gave me time and space to mull it over. She went above and beyond and really seemed to care about me as a person. I ended up going big and left on a 2020 Zero SR/F.

Another hallmark of someone I want to do business with is how they fix mistakes, which brings me to service: sales set an impossibly high bar with Amy working so diligently, but service did not disappoint either. In fairness, not every mistake was actually the dealership's. The first issue I had happened on day - I had a faulty display unit and while the bike still got power and was technically rideable, they didn't think it was safe and actually picked up the bike free of charge. They worked with Zero to get me back and on the road as soon as possible. Another experience was with initial service, my bike couldn't be read by their computers, and they had extremely limited technicians trained with Zero bikes - again they worked with Zero to get their techs trained and equipment upgraded, and when I came back they finished the update. This initial service took 3 visits in total, but they honored the original RO which was paid off and I was never charged for "additional time". Additionally, I received a loaner bike/scooter every time, and they were accommodating of my schedule and requests (they charged my bike when I brought it in with low battery). The last issue I had was one of miscommunication. I brought it in for a squeaking and droning noise - they suspected it was the belt and told me if anything was wrong it would likely be covered under warranty. When I picked it up, I was billed for a half-hour labor. I wasn't necessarily angry, just a little perplexed, but willing to pay it since they've taken care of me thus far - they explained that normal wear and tear and routine maintenance wasn't covered under warranty, so fair enough, it was an honest misunderstanding and I was going to pay, but they offered to split the cost. And the issue was gone and I was relieve that it wasn't more serious; it was as quiet as it was on day 1.

So my experience wasn't perfect, especially being an early adopter of a brand new bike from a relatively new manufacturer (still not on my insurers lists), but I expected some teething issues and I don't doubt I received the best possible service given the circumstances. I'm very confident in them and am looking forward to doing business with them in the future. If I get the founds for another weekend bike, I'm definitely eyeballing that R Nine T.

Been a customer for years...mainly because they know what they're doing...do it right...and appreciate my business. Chris has been and continues to be one of the foremost developers of aftermarket improvements to the BMW product line based on performance and reliability. Willie is the consummate brand ambassador with an eye for detail and perfection...as a rider, you can't ask for better. I have purchased or been responsible for the purchase of quite a few motorcycles over the years and I continue to refer friends to SJBMW.

San Jose BMW is a first class dealership. Buying my F700GS was seamless. Cory in the Sales Department, John in the Finance Department and all the staff (Accessories and the Mechanic) were all very helpful and know how to treat their customers. It was worth the drive from SoCal to do business with them. Highly recommend if you are in the market for a new or used BMW.

Picked up a new R Nine T Scrambler from SJ BMW this month...Amy and her team made everything flawless. Zero pressure and tons of experience got me out the door with new gear and the bike delivered to my doorstep but not before meeting the whole crew and getting a sense that they care about you the minute you walk in. I highly recommend this place!

SJ BMW is the real deal.
I had a wonderful experience with these folks during my recent purchase.
Everyone on the team was extremely welcoming from ownership to sales / service / parts.
When it came time to talk numbers on my trade, there was no baloney - I was offered fair value right off the bat, and the process was seamless thereafter.

This business serves as an example of honesty & integrity for any - I will most certainly be back.

I just bought a used R1200 GS and brought it to San Jose BMW Motorcycles for a service and to fix some issues I had with the bike.
Pete did a great job providing advice, getting me an estimate and scheduling the service.
When I dropped of the bike for the service, I was shown a number of available loaner bikes - great opportunity to play with a R1200 RT :-)
The work was done as estimated and ready on time.
Overall this was a pleasurable experience. The staff was friendly and willing to help. The work was done on time and on budget. I am a happy customer and will be back for any work that needs to be performed on my bike

I should have done this earlier but late than never. I went to see a R NineT here, test drove 5 bikes before i bought the R nineT. They are open in telling you what you should be looking for based on your taste, a very clear conversation not any greasy sale talk. I ended up taking the bike on a loan which was all done quite swiftly in a day. In all a great buying experience.

Good and honest people. They have been servicing my Vespa 300 and K1300S for the last 6 years. I come in, they know my name and treat me like close friends, even inviting me to birthday celebrations in the shop. Great, personal, non pushy sales people. The parts department has a very informative staff that works in conjunction with the service department. And most importantly, the guys in the back that keep our bikes rolling are awesome and knowledgeable. Its good to know that when something goes wrong, my bikes are in good hands.

On a trip from Iowa to California my low beam bulb died. I called San Jose BMW and they got me right in to get it fixed. They also checked the bike and found some work that was needed on the front end. They did the work well, quickly and all under warranty. I was out of the shop in time for a nice ride back down the coast. Service was great.

San Jose has been servicing my HP4 since 2014. I recommend them without hesitation. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They go out of their way to accommodate my unusual track day specific requests. The latest was the Alpha V2018 race mapping of the ecu. Most importantly, they always manage to get my bike in and out between track days. I haven't missed a single track day because the bike was sitting in the shop.

I had a small leak in the front tire of Zero DSR. I called earlier, and they accommodated me even though they had a full day today. They not only diagnosed and fixed the issue, but also said that it was covered by warranty since the bead was not sitting on the wheel correctly, causing a leak. Plus, they immediately emailed Zero to stop using the lubricant that caused this issue.

I also bought a bluetooth headset from them today, and it was installed in my helmet for free! They even helped pair my phone, and got it charged.

They are very friendly to customers, hosting get togethers in the evenings, and generally wanting to help. I strongly recommend San Jose BMW motorcycles for their sales, service, and for never being pushy. Thanks!!

I am not a motorcycle fancier, but my children are. Since coming to San Jose BMW Motorcycle with my son and daughter I feel more at ease with their riding. Everyone is very friendly and helpful from the moment you walk in the door!
Amy in sales knows just what is needed, and is right up front about what is not needed. Pete in the service department is very helpful and accommodating with urgent needs and the inexperienced rider. There is even a lounge with free gourmet coffee while you wait. This place feels more like a family with a motorcycle obsession than a business. I especially recommend this family for you first time riders, your mothers will be happier for it.

In my opinion, BMW is making some of the best bikes on the market today. San Jose BMW is my favorite dealership for many reasons. The people here are well educated on the line from bmw and actually care about what you want, need, your experience with them and very competitive prices. The service department is award winning for a reason. They are quick, thorough and i have full trust that when they work on my bike it is done right the first time. Parts has a very good selection of helmets, jackets, gloves (recommend y2 wheels) and aftermarket stuff. Highly recommend.

Stay clear if you have issues with Zero motorcycle.
They have no idea how to work on electric bikes, even when they are an authorized dealer.
I brought a working bike with one faulty battery module, and after 6 months of fighting with them and Zero the bike doesn't work at all, both batteries and charger are dead. And they still charger me $270, even though they did nothing, just broke the bike more.
They were not able to diagnose the battery, insisted on replacing main computer instead. Kept the bike for 3 months without charging it. The battery died completely because of that and they refuse to replace it, want to charge me $2800 for it.

I was extremely satisfied with the way the entire staff helped throughout the buying process. I worked with Amy and she was very patient with me and was very helpful in narrowing the right bike for me. She helped me find what I believe to be the perfect bike. I then met with John and Bill in parts and they were able to guide me in the right direction as far as riding gear and a GPS unit for my new bike. Many thanks to everyone over at San Jose BMW.
