Amazing experience even with missing pandas. Proba...
Amazing experience even with missing pandas. Probably the best zoo in the world. Visiting a must!
Amazing experience even with missing pandas. Probably the best zoo in the world. Visiting a must!
Really enjoyed it. Lots and lots of walking. I say bring own snacks. Food for lunch is expensive
This zoo is amazing! We're learned so many fascinating facts about the animals while on a school trip from Florida with my family. We even had the opportunity to go behind the scenes of the elephant enclosure and feed the giraffes! We will never forget this trip!
Beautiful zoo, favorite place here is tiger river walk. Intended to eat at Alberts, but it was closed at 3 p.m. when we arrived. No good gluten free offerings. Food was more expensive here than at seaworld!
This place is perfect for families, there is so much to see and do. We spent the day there exploring the exotic animals. They take great care of the animals. The zoo was first class, you won't see any trash on the ground. This place is a must do if you love animals or have children.
One of the MUSTS when visiting San Diego. The zoo's layout and walking paths make it a great way to sneak in some exercise without thinking about it.
Be sure to check out the nearby carousel (adjacent to the zoo) if you have little ones.
Spent all day here from opening to closing. Absolutely enjoyed my day with Family. Every animal here has an environment catered to their needs. It's great to see and hear the care these people put into the zoo they've helped to create.
Always a great place to spend the day. Take your children and let them experience the animals that they may otherwise never see in person.
Loveliest zoo. Sad to see so many animals extinct outside captivity
I love the San Diego zoo! Just be careful what day you come. Holiday weekends can get packed!! Also check the membership pricing. They come with free tour bus rides and free passes for friends. So a membership is definitely worth getting over a regular ticket.
World famous zoo with so many different species of animals and beautiful scenery all around the grounds! They're focus is on conservation, restoration, protecting our animals natural habitats. Some of the $$ for admission, souvenirs etc goes towards further education, research, conservation and any other ways to better help the animals themselves (not to line the pockets of people who's hearts aren't really invested). This was the perfect time to go as well because the weather wasn't scorching hot and the crowds weren't too excessive. Great for the entire family of all ages. They are very accommodating for people who need assistance due to limited abilities as well! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Extremely clean park and all of the exhibits are great. Friendly staff and the weather is always great!
Good place to visit with kids. Have to take a tour bus first and then you can choose best place to walk around.
Really appreciate their focus and efforts around wildlife conservation and education. The volunteers were very informative and helpful. We were there on Friday in November and had really good luck with minor crowds and most of the animals were very active and up front.
We did the Animals is action - it was well worth the extra money as we got to see and interact with animals that were not on display.
Really great day at a special place.
Love the zoo! All my favorites: Pandas, Polar bears, red pandas..... Beautiful weather, not too crowded when we went. Everyone loved the Tram ride and train. We took the train when we first got there to get a sort of overview. We purchased a few refillable drink bottles. It was well worth it, even just to get ice water.
Wonderful experience for families and adults of all ages. Very educational, and an amazing selection of animals. No wonder it's called "world famous" San Diego zoo
It's a beautiful place, very clean and organized, every employee had a pleasant attitude
The only unhappy part of this experience was seeing all these beautiful animals caged up with no freedom, it's sad and unfair
Such a wonderful place to visit. The landscape is peaceful and there are great views of animals. If you go on a day that isn't very crowded it feels like the entire place is your own. Would recommend for all age groups.
Such a great zoo, unfortunately they just changed their stance to only offer their military discount (100% free with your CAC) to active military and not DOD civilians anymore.
amazing place. had a wonderful time checking out all the amazing animals. They keep this place nice and clean. highly recommend visiting.
The San Diego Zoo is well designed and has a great inventory of animals. The zoo is also at the forefront of the fight to save various species from extinction, including the northern white rhino. The staff are very enthusiastic in this regard, so much so that it's hard to interact with then absent such a discussion.
The best zoo I have ever been to. It is very big and there is lots to see. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes. We were not able to see the panda because we would have waited in line more than an hour. Next time I would get on the bus and go straight there. But definitely a place to visit.
I always love going here and the wild safari park. Well kept, animals are treated awesomely
I thoroughly enjoyed the Zoo 100% and highly recommend for all!! If you are in the San Diego area take 1 day off to tour the best zoo in the whole USA!!
A nice view at San Diego zoo from downtown San Diego!
Beautiful! Lots of family fun! There are admission ticket kiosk before the ticketing lines. Don't miss them!
This zoo isokay. There is a ton to see and a lot of things for little kids that will entertain them throughout the zoo trip. My favorite part about the zoo, is the buses and trams that can get you from one side of the park to the other when you're small children are tired. If you are native to San Diego, the annual pass is a must. Military tip. An active duty military member always gets free admission to the park so you do not have to purchase tickets. This only applies to the member and not their family.
I had an awesome time with the family. Bring your walking shoes because this place is huge. They allow you to bring bottled drinks and snacks in the park. I would recommend to get their souvenir cup early in the day that way you can get free refills all day long.
Always a fun day when you can visit the zoo and look at the beautiful animals.
It's the San Diego zoo. You just have to go. It's the best.
Best zoo I have ever visited in the world! Knowledgeable, professional, and most importantly animals appear so healthy and happy staying here! I love the polar bear best! Hope to visit the safari zoo sooner next time!
Great as always. It's been a few years since we've been, and the new Africa exhibit is awesome.
Got lucky today, and the baby hippo and mama were out playing.
Be prepared for crowds, especially around the hippos and elephants.
Plenty to do with the exhibits the tour's food. Over 150 acres. Lots of walking.
San Diego Zoo maybe the best in the world. New Afercian Exhibit now open. Some animals not visible when it's hot out. Missed a few. Always a beautiful visit with all the plants and animals
The San Diego is a must stop attraction if you're in the city. It may seem pricey at first at about $50 a ticket but it's well worth it for the amount of animals you can see.
Don't underestimate the size of the zoo by just looking at the map... This place is HUGE! You can easily spend half a day or more here.
Plus, at the time I went, they were still expanding and adding new areas, exhibits, and animals.
It's a great place and must see if you visit San Diego. Once entered you get an overview of the zoo with the bus tour and then, you can take a walk to check the animals at a closer range. There are few areas where you tend to get confused even if you have the map. Once inside, if you are hungry, then there are some restaurants as well. Overall great place and had good fun.
I can't say enough good things about the San Diego Zoo. It is really a place for everyone! The animals are well cared for and their facilities are always top notch. I like that you can view the park using many different modalities such as, the Skyfari or the bus and if course walking. Plenty to do and see for all ages. A must see! Get here early and leave early for the best experience. And I also highly recommend any of the tours they provide!
Very beautiful exhibits. Fun place to take your kids!
The Zoo has not enough animals . It's presented very well and specially for visitors from Asia it may not be that good since Asian zoo's have much more animals.
The sad part is the food....Highly overpriced and pathetic food to eat. Specially the Mexican food next to the exit gate...cold food served...tasteless on top of it and it seems prepared by novices having no food experieces
The kids loved the zoo. The kids enjoyed looking at the animals as I contemplated the diversity of the plant and the way it was organized.
We always have a good time here, the animals look well taken care of and the staff are very helpful. I understand why things are a bit overpriced with food and merch. But it's to help maintain the zoo..so I buy at least one thing every time we go :)
Amazing place easy to walk but also has trams and gondola with great tours. I live in San Diego and we get yearly passes, summer can get crowded but it is still manageable. Take your time and plan your walk you can get more down hill paths. Remember it's San Diego the weather will be stable you can count on good weather year round a bad day in San Diego is still a great day.
HUGE ZOO! Pack a good pair of comfortable walking shoes.
Wear comfy shoes. Thought price was high but after seeing you get bus tour and sky safari with it. I felt it was worth it. Very shady. Still bring snacks and a hat. Lots to see.
There is a reason this place is famous! My husband and I are "zoo people" and we were blown away! They have a huge variety of animals; some I'd never heard of! The kangaroo bus and sky tram were amazing. If we ever get back to the west coast we will definitely visit again.
Great experience! Get ready to walk because this park is huge!
Amazing zoo. Large, well designed encolaures. The animals look pretty happy and well cared for considering they're not being in their natural environment. I really enjoyed learning how certain animals are fed and able to hunt their prey as they would in the wild.
This place has so much to do and to look at. If you really want to experience this place you better plan a full day from open to close. Wear good shoes and planning on getting lost a couple times in this huge hundred acre, layered wildlife Paradise
This place is great and you can spend a whole day. Knocked a star down because it s quite pricey now for one day admission. It s also hilly in some areas
Such a great and huge zoo. Any time we are in SD we come here. It's a great place to take your your kiddos
A huge zoo with many animals. Spent 6 hours there and didn't even get to see the entire park. The trails and grounds were well maintained. Definitely one of my favorites.
Live here in San Diego now, this is always a great place to visit!
Super gorgeous, super expensive, San Diego's signature attraction. I love the landscaping as much as the exhibits. Don't wait in line to see the pandas, it takes too long and isn't worth it, the rest of the zoo can take you all day. We usually pack a nice picnic lunch to make the day of it. My kids just like to ride the sky tram back and forth at the end of the day (me too). Southern California residents get discounted membership.
There s a reason it s world-famous. Incredible facilities, great staff, and a true connection to nature. #endextinction
Yes it's open during COVID. Safety guidelines are placed to keep people safe and the place sanitized. Great for a family getaway!
Go! It's amazing. It'll take two days to properly enjoy it. Close to SD, free parking, beer and restaurants on site, and so many things to see. If you go right when it opens you'll see animals being fed or eating.
I liked the polar bear and Afircan penguin enclave.
Fun for all ages...be ready to walk a lot...drink plenty of water...AND HAVE FUN
Visiting from Washington. Glad we decided to go here.
This Zoo is nicely planned. There are shady parts here and there (that is rare in SD - you surely will get cooked in the Seaworld) The zoo is walkable, animals are not stacked in a pile, but relatively close to each other. One day is probably a little short for seeing it all still. It was quite crowded the day we were there.
The woman named Debra at the zoo was the most rude person I have ever talked to. She belittled me and my husband when we were just asking questions and rubbed it in our faces that we had got some information wrong about times and where we needed to be for our tour. She ruined my day at the zoo and should be fired if she talks to all costumer the way she talked to me.
Loved the place, great diversity and the animals also seem to be well taken care off
Best zoo hands down! You're allowed to bring your own food. GREAT prices and TONS to do. The have buses that take you all around the park. Takes about 4 hours to go through the whole park. WORTH IT!
A great day out and fab for the kids. the special buses were good dropping off at different points around the zoo. All a little expensive though but with animals you will rarely see elsewhere. The polar bear and the Orangutans where amazing. well worth the visit.
Having an amazing day here. Loved the Inside Look tour we took in the morning. Personable and knowledgeable guide and an insightful look into all the work that goes on behind the scenes to make the zoo run. Well worth the extra fee.
The world-famous San Diego Zoo has something to see. Therefore, you need to come early to see everything. We have one of the most beautiful zoos in the United States! Employees are also outstanding.
Amazing variety of animals. Lots to see, so take your time and come early so you won't feel like you missed out by the time you leave. Really worth seeing if you are visiting San Diego.
Not just a wonderful zoo, but it's an amazing place that really strives to better the world.
A very large, well managed zoo with many creative exhibits. Enjoyed walking through the bird enclosures.
Definitely a must visit! We had an eventful day here. Well spent day enjoying the scenery. So much to see and do !
The San Diego Zoo is running very well during Covid 19. Even though they are at limited capacity and they dont have their bus rides or safari sky team running, it is still a pleasant experience and well organized.
It definitely wasn't worth the hype! They did give my Marine son free entrance.
Really the best zoo in the world! Oh and if you're into Pokemon go it's a great spot to play and walk
The zoo is so much fun that I bought an annual membership. This way I can go to the zoo and the safari park whenever I want.
It was a wonderful experience for my family and myself!
If you like, love or never seen live in up close animals this is the place to go. Adults and children. A lot of walking, up or down hills, sky line and the double decker bus.
