One of if not the best Zoo in America! A great family oriented outing to see wonderful exotic creatures as the only downside is to reflect on captivity of animals.

Omg I love the zoo sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!

Can a Zoo be too big? Maybe. It was an exhausting day (our 2 year old is not ready for an adventure like this yet) and we just didn't see very much activity in many of the animal exhibits. The grounds are amazing!

I wish I had more time to spend here! This zoo is MASSIVE and there's a lot of walking but that just means all the animals are spread out and have room to move in their enclosures which is nice. :)

Great experience. Most zoos have a 'claim to fame' as in they have pandas, or elephants, or polar bears. The San Diego Zoo has all of those. A great way to spend the day.

I love visiting zoos, but nothing compares to the San Diego Zoo. I've visited it dozens of times in my life and I always look forward to the next visit. The animal habitats are the most natural, and I'm sure the animals appreciate it. While don't like seeing animals caged, I know it's sometimes necessary to protect them from poachers, extinction, etc. There scope of this zoo cannot be underestimated...it's huge! You can walk the zoo all day and still not see everything, so plan on a 2 day visit, ok?

The San Diego Zoo is an awesome place! Right now the hours are extended for summer and there are so many fun shows and activities! I recommend happy hour on the newly constructed Bridge and listening to Tom the Guitarist while having a refreshing drink!!

I love the San Diego Zoo. First, parking is free and easy to find if you come early. I love that every visit is a unique experience. The zookeepers and volunteers are very knowledgeable and kind. Great food and drink choices (the rum infused snow cone at the kiosk right before Elephant Odyssey is amazing).

This is the best zoo I have been to. The little ceremony they do to open the zoo is pretty cool. The staff is very friendly and the entire place is very clean. Great food options including some coffee stands and beer. It is pricey, but once you're there, it is so worth it!

Absolutely lovely zoo. I m giving 3 stars because all animals looked exceptionally healthy/taken care of EXCEPT the polar bears. They looked hot, skinny, dirty, and sluggish. Their enclosure was mostly dirt and grass. Step up your game or close the polar bear enclosure down.

Absolutely a joy to visit! First time in San Diego, and had to commit a day to the zoo! Arrived at opening on a Sunday and spent a solid 4hrs walking around seeing everything. My advice, if you like soda, is buy the refillable cup right away and just refill for free throughout the day, pays for itself after one refill. Also, the Chinese food at Huawei in the Asian Sector was delightful! Portions were great and overall prices were very affordable!

So fun! I wish we had taken 2 days for this zoo because it's huge!! But we really enjoyed our day

Well kept, tons of amazing animals to visit. Animal areas are well maintained. The busses and numerous walkways make it easy to navigate the 100+ acres. The staff, volunteer and paid, were all helpful, knowledgeable and informative. Had an amazing time in the zoo, expect to spend the whole day here seeing all the sights!
