Thoughtful art museum with some unique pieces, and some interesting medium like bone dice, crayon drawings, and shellac dipped kaftans. Lots of school groups were visiting while we were there.

Its a nice museum. Ive been here before and even after 10 years everythings the sane which is kinda dull. Besides that my main issue was this one male staff that kept following me and my wife. Was creepy but then again we had our 8 year old kid with us so possibly thinking our kid was gonna knock something down. Be nice if it was more updated with new things and less creepier staff stalking u eveey corner u make.

Super fun event at the San Antonio Museum of Art with my significant other for a night of love, champagne, chocolates, and live music. The galleries were open for casual, self paced enjoyment of the collection. We also jumped in on a docent guided tour of select pieces elaborating on "love" presented with an interesting twist. Our guide spoke of love from the perspective of artwork depicting the love of chocolate, love of metal, and.the love of a caregiver to name only a few. Very enjoyable evening.

Everything displayed here is beautiful and the museum itself is very clean and well-organized. They show on a sketch exactly where they've restored statues and tell the stories behind every piece they can. Staff is very friendly and I was shocked that not more people were here. (I showed up around 1:30 and left right at closing, so that may be why it was so empty.) I absolutely love everything I saw and I will definitely be coming back in the future.

SAMA is a gem in the city. It is rich in art and culture. They offer art from various time periods and regions such as Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Asian. There are pieces of art from Europe and Pacific Islands as well as Texan culture and modernist. The staff or shall I say adocents are knowledgeable and very friendly. No photos allowed but definitely a must see on a nice evening. Tuesdays are free to the public which is a nice thing.

This place is huge. I wasn't prepared for SA having such a packed museum. The building itself was ART. Just a beautiful place to explore. Worth the money and you time. Have some food first and walk it off there.

While the European painting are nothing special, the collection of Latio, Native American, and Polynesian art is remarkable. Free on Tuesdays after 4PM, SAMA is well worth the visit. Great museum, even better admission ! Many Greek & Egyptian pieces in their collection. Interesting linear rooms, stacked vertically with a skywalk. Small museum store - wish it was larger. Cafe selections looked good but we did not eat there

Not a huge museum, but has a good collection, with nice arrangement and informational and sometimes amusing annotations. I hope it can keep it this way, in stead of piling up the collections and making an overwheming mess like some of the other museums. Easily to spend half a day in the museum, highly recommend it to families

I did not realize how large this museum is! Spent the day at the special exhibit and toured the remaining galleries. The only thing that would have improved the day is for the museum to have a cafe. Will definitely return.

This is such a great place to go. I went on a Tuesday night; admission was free and there was live music in the main area. Each floor of the museum offers something different. Allow yourself plenty of time to view everything, there is so much to see and learn about. You won't be disappointed!

Great stuff! Got dragged there by my girlfriend, thought I'd be bored the whole time but you start to really appreciate the old artifacts and paintings... Actually quite Romantic in a way, it was very intimate and quiet and very fun! Don't forget to donate and go by the gift shop...

This was a very nice art Museum. The Egyptian art collection that I saw in April this year was extraordinary. The museum is nicely laid out and it is convenient to get to - I took the double decker Hop-on Hop-off bus to get there.

Huge variety of artwork and sculptures. A bit overwhelming at first due to the many floor levels, but definitely worth a visit. The museum workers are both approachable and knowledgeable. Plan ahead-- there is a ton to see!

One of the best kept secrets for a nice outing with family or friends is the San Antonio Museum of Art. The artwork and exhibits that comes through this Museum are outstanding. We try to frequent this Museum as often as we can, which is numerous times a year.
Put this on your to-do list when visiting San Antonio!

My favorite place in San Antonio for sure! The wide selections of art and the way they're neatly displayed by type makes for a great, easy visit. The place is always neat and the grounds are beautiful! The staff has always been very kind and educated, I've never had a problem with them and my service dog, which means a stress free visit! They offer student discounts, and Alamo College students even get in free with their ID, which means I could visit all year for free!
I love this place and I recommend it to anyone!
