In construction. Reopen in April 2020. Superb renovation / modernization of the department stores of SAMARITAINE

I very much regret its closure, we found everything to the Samaritan now we have to juggle between the canvas and specialized places but it will remain forever the most beautiful of the Parisian department stores.

'We find everything in Samaritaine' a little step back to remember the prestigious facade, seen from a fly boat 'star of Pont-neuf'. The name of La Samaritaine comes from the name of a water pump located on the Pont Neuf whose existence dates back to Henri IV. This pump was decorated with a representation of the episode evoking the meeting of Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the Well of Jacob. Hoping that the work comes to an end ...

Its name comes from an old Pompe built on the Pont Neuf under the reign of Henri 4 (see history of La Samaritaine) Founded in1870 by Ernest Cognacq and his wife Marie Louise Jay, between Le Pont Neuf and rue de La Monnaie. The Spouses undertake in 1910 to build another store in another district of Paris A new store intended for a more affluent clientele.
The Samaritaine de Luxe opened in 1917 at 27 rue des Capucines. Its motto "We find everything Samaritaine" has long been taken up by advertisements throughout the last century, but for too long years the Samaritaine has been in the works, its opening is scheduled for 2018, in principle.

The department store that Parisians are most looking forward to. In the 15 years, Bao Guangguang is included, and tomorrow is bright and beautiful.

I very much regret its closure the 4S was a place where you could find everything you wanted it was a bit expensive but but it was something in the capital which in addition in full Paris ... say that 'a large part is going to be a luxury hotel a palace somewhere that saddens me its going to be reserved for a handful of privileged people exclusively.

We saw images of the interior a few weeks ago on television, we could believe that the opening would be imminent ... Apparently it is not in the near future, there are still many traces of construction .
When Conforama closes La Samaritaine will open, it is a good thing even if it is regrettable that the first sign closes. It is not at all the same register ...

After 5 years of attempts at renovation, and not of total reconstruction,
Wednesday, June 6, 2018, a section of wall collapsed on a school and a nursery, in the rue de Arbre Dry, a street left open to the public, despite the risks associated with the construction site.
It is time for the City of Paris to seriously question the condition of certain buildings.
