We are on the Cape in the summer and winter, and find this place to be a unique, vibrant, and exciting spot to eat when you've had your fill of regular seafood. My wife is a vegetarian and really enjoys the varied meatless menu options. Dinner is routinely served year round until Midnight - a great advantage for this place and the night owls who frequent it. See you this summer.

Sam Diegos is good for groups and parties-- call ahead and make a reservation! Not my favorite restaurant on Cape, but acceptable. We only really go there with big groups because they are good at accommodating parties. I usually get the Veggie Burger Burrito, which is tasty.

I am a native Cape Codder. I have been to this restaurant at varying times of the week and varying times of the year. Every single time their food and service continues to disappointment me. Tonight I think I'm finally done 'giving it another chance'. As a table of two we were told the wait would be five minutes. It ended up being 25. Normally I would be okay with this aside from the fact that multiple other "table for twos" who came in AFTER us were seated BEFORE us. We also received the complimentary chip and salsa appetizer after multiple tables who were seated AFTER us. Top this off with an impatient waitress and the wrong items brought to us two times. After the second time we decided to just eat what we were served and keep our mouths shut to avoid server imcompetence. The taste of the food is not even worth all the above frustration. I wish I could say it was a busy night or just a bad night for the server but the fact is that Sam Diegos always operates this way.

I have always loved Sam's. Classic Cape Cod restaurant. Nice mix of American classics and Mexican food but all the food is executed very well! Staff is always friendly and has remained consistent throughout the years. Mabey not the most authentic Mexican food but the food and atmosphere are still one of a kind! Great place for food and drinks with family and friends.

It was very cold where we were sitting! Another couple got up and went to another table because it was too cold. The food was okay. Quesadilla had a wheat tortilla which wasn't as good. The mango salsa was good with my burrito though! And the free chips and salsa were good too.

We found this place one dark, stormy March evening when we discovered, on a trip, that our previously favorite Mexican restaurant was closed for renovation. My wife was really disappointed and as we rode around looking for a Mexican restaurant, I remember telling her that we would find a good restaurant and everything would be okay. Just after I said that for the third or fourth time, I saw the sign! Sam Diegos, never heard of it. We pulled in and immediately liked the place. We were seated and ordered drinks and appetizers. My wife went to the rest room and before she was gone for more than a few minutes, the drinks came. By the time she returned, five minutes after that, the food was also on the table. You should have seen the smile on her face. We enjoyed the drinks, food and service as well as the atmosphere around the place. That was many years ago and we not only found a good restaurant that dark, dreary night but our new favorite Mexican watering hole. Every year, when we are at the Cape, we enjoy Sam Diegos. I just looked the place up and glad it's still there again this year. My birthday is in two weeks and we are heading down from NH for St Patrick's day week end and a few extra days and we can hardly wait to get to Sam Diegos, we love it that much. I'll be Irish on the weekend and knee deep in the shenanigans and celebration but come Monday and Tuesday, my Mexican side will be itching for sure. Hmmm... Might not be able to hold out that long.. Sam Diegos, here we come. Yippeee!

Update: Sam Diego's is still Sam Diego's but we have found a new favorite Mexican place just down the street. Read my other reviews of the area for the name of our new favorite restaurant which is in a whole 'nother class.

Not sure exactly what I was expecting. I was fooled by the Google review, over 1000 reviews and 4.2 stars. Figured can't be that bad, right?so we gave it a shot. Service is great. We had Nicki and she was super nice and helpful, so we give one star for her. The food, however. The food was just bad. So bad. I tried so hard to eat it but it wasn't happening. I had the chicken fajitas. It looked good as it was coming out. The rice was like rinsed down uncooked Goya rice from the box. The salsa that came with it was sour. The tortillas were cold and uncooked. Then the chicken... Just plain bad. Dry, no seasoning, it just tasted like a burnt grill. I have never in my life complained or even returned food from a restaurant until today. I recommend going somewhere else. I think anything is better than the tasteless food in this place. Taco Bell would of gotten 5 stars over this place.

Event hough the prices have gone up, it is still a place to get a reasonable priced diner.
Avoid the salty nachos, a trick to get you drinking !! Eventthough the margaritas are good.
Food was cold ( steak, other person had the fajitas ). Nice desserts .

Adequate food, though I'm not sure the taco lunch buffet is a fair way to judge. The extra order of guacamole was very good, chunky so you know it wasn't a frozen premise product, and flavorful. Have heard the drinks are excellent but we just had iced tea. Will go back for dinner sometime.

Always fresh and creative Tex - Mex. Great Bar, with a variety of margaritas and daiquiris. Colorful indoor dining, great for events and parties. Outdoor patio offers plenty of fair weather seating.

Been going here a long time. Food is always good but wish they would take more care in who they hire. Not high maintenance here but our waitress was not just cold, which I can deal with, but irritated at even having to be there. My wife waited tables for 18 years so we arent some high society tourists. But this woman was bad. Brutal when all I wanted to do was have a good Sunday lunch with my wife and kid.
If you end up with a good waiter or waitress, then I highly recommend.

The Texas Iced Tea is yummy!! I had the BBQ Pulled Pork. It is served over corn bread and came with sweet potato fries and cole slaw. Everything was fantastic! My husband loved his meal, too!

Worst service ever in any mexican place till date.

Got chips with salsa , didnt like salsa because it was bitter told the server Mia asked for ranch which was delivered adding 1.49$.( not a bit of apology )
Anyway thats fine, ordered the Mucho which was pathetic.
First time ever chicken tenders were made bad by any restaurant.
Asked for check and said didnt like any food left eveything on plate server didnt even ask why food was bad or can she replace the food.

Super dupper rude server/waitress.
Had to leave a place without tipping a penny.

Wrote a note on the check giving all the review.
Never to return.
