Don Hart Review of Sam Diegos
We found this place one dark, stormy March evening...
We found this place one dark, stormy March evening when we discovered, on a trip, that our previously favorite Mexican restaurant was closed for renovation. My wife was really disappointed and as we rode around looking for a Mexican restaurant, I remember telling her that we would find a good restaurant and everything would be okay. Just after I said that for the third or fourth time, I saw the sign! Sam Diegos, never heard of it. We pulled in and immediately liked the place. We were seated and ordered drinks and appetizers. My wife went to the rest room and before she was gone for more than a few minutes, the drinks came. By the time she returned, five minutes after that, the food was also on the table. You should have seen the smile on her face. We enjoyed the drinks, food and service as well as the atmosphere around the place. That was many years ago and we not only found a good restaurant that dark, dreary night but our new favorite Mexican watering hole. Every year, when we are at the Cape, we enjoy Sam Diegos. I just looked the place up and glad it's still there again this year. My birthday is in two weeks and we are heading down from NH for St Patrick's day week end and a few extra days and we can hardly wait to get to Sam Diegos, we love it that much. I'll be Irish on the weekend and knee deep in the shenanigans and celebration but come Monday and Tuesday, my Mexican side will be itching for sure. Hmmm... Might not be able to hold out that long.. Sam Diegos, here we come. Yippeee!
Update: Sam Diego's is still Sam Diego's but we have found a new favorite Mexican place just down the street. Read my other reviews of the area for the name of our new favorite restaurant which is in a whole 'nother class.
