Whomever designed this airport needs to go back to school and learn how to organize their LEGO s a little better. Ridiculous walk time to most gates.
Not too big, easy in And out. Folks are very friendly. Only downside is that the play CNN on all the TV sets.
Love the new facility! Wanted to pick up our daughter and two children, but were supposed to wait outside for her to get bags and come out because of covid. They were nice enough to let me in so that I could help her with their bags.
Not bad service just needs more smiles from the staff and ques were slow
Can't decide if I like the new pick up area or not.
It's clean and spacious enough to allow for social distancing.
Good airport to transit trough.organize and on time
First time dropping family off at New Airport building. Worked like a breeze. Picking them up this afternoon and should be just as easy.
The construction of the airport makes it difficult to get in and park and get out. If you can get someone to drop you off, it makes it much easier.
Ok, everything sounded so good and I was so hungry. I have only had the Smashfries and Avacado Black Bean Burger. The fries were crisp and tasty. Even if a little oily I ate them all. But a couple of bites into the bean burger, I threw the burger in the trash: too spicy without real flavor and supper undercooked and mushy. I wish I had order milkshake
Thank you Rika and dave and all the others who stopped and made aure we had all we needed and got.us to the right places.
The entrance is fun to look at, and that's where the excitement ends. It is THE longest walk from security to gate I have ever experienced. It is a 15 minute brisk-walk. I like a good walk, but this is ridiculous. I lost track of all the people complaining about how long the walk really is, but that list includes flight attendants.
Beautiful art work! Clean and easy to find where I was going. Be prepared for lots of walking if you are B gate.
New airport is awful. It s like they just added a new airport in front of the old one took forever too walk to baggage claim. Feels exactly like exiting and walking to customs in any third world country..
Rudest group of employees at an airport I have ever experienced. Unfriendly, unprofessional, unwilling to help in anyway. Delta delayed our flight by 4 hours and thus we were unable to make our flight to Casper. When we got off our flight from Florida to salt lake we were met with a ticket book with 9 tickets. There were 15 of us. Not one of the five employees we encountered cared or even attempted to make the situation better. We were told in Florida 15 tickets would await us. No one offered to get us a hotel or a car, they all just stared at us and argued with us.
I like the new terminal well thought out and they still have Squatters pub always great food and great drinks and the best staff
They are making lots of changes and updating parking and other areas. It's time to get this great little airport into the new century.
My daughter's name came up on this somehow, but my name is Sue Cross--and I have passed through SLC Airport 3 times in the past year. For someone with a Service Dog it is NOT a good airport to have to spend time in, because they have no place for dogs to "take a break". This last time, on Friday Sept. 29th, I was directed to one end of the airport and found nothing so asked another Delta person--who directed me back to the other end of the airport. My dog finally pooped while I was dragging him along--after having no opportunity for a break for about 8 hrs! I have bags w me and cleaned it up and barely scolded him. Finally found a door w a sign re finding an employee to take an animal out, and even found someone who did so. The tiny little area of rocks smelled so badly that my dog never even peed and we finally gave up. True, there are a lot of places for buying food while you wait at this airport....
Loved this airport. It was bigger than I imagined and all the staff and ongoers wetr very friendly
This is home base for me and I have rarely had an issues. The wait for security is typically predictable and the time to get to the gate is not bad at all compared to other airports.
Clean airport and great food and drink options which are mostly all open right now.
Very clean, friendly staff. I fly out of here often and I have never had a problem.
It was clean and up to date. I had two layovers there. The shops were all friendly and they had good variety.
Most of people in the airport are nice, and the free wifi is a good plus.
Only exception is they hired some really rude people outside the terminal and also outside the check-in station of United.
Not sure if the airport hired some really rude people or train them to be tough intentionally. Also see them yell at someone occasionally.
Absolutely terrible. New airport design adds a lot of time from check in through to the gate. Be prepared to walk far. No cheap eats just breweries and market street. I miss the old airport.
One restroom for a Gate C? What a joke. Great job making a bad airport even worse.
Small and efficient but features all the shops and restaurants you would want or need for a delayed flight or extended lay over.
It's easy to orient and Both times there were no long lives at security check
It's an airport....so.....expect to fly in and fly out.
I was born in Salt Lake City but only been to the airport once...
Absolutely the best airport I've flown out of. Friendly staff. Excellent all around
Great Airport. I really like how you can just walk to the different terminals. Very convenient for connections. There's a great burger joint in the food court area.
It is horrible. Airport is half finished. The gates are at one end and check in at the other end. One in the new part one in the old. Long, long ,long walk.
One of the best airports in the united states to navigate. I love coming flying in or out of Salt Lake International.
Extremely clean, lots of space and spread way out with cool shops and restaurants along the way. I like more spread out airports because, after sitting for so long, it feels good to stretch my legs. They have plenty of people movers, if you don't want to walk.
Beautiful airport, I have yet to see the renovated terminals but I would imagine it will be very nice. Plenty of nonstop destinations and rental car options are right on site
The 2nd hand smoke airport is what it should be called. Can't wait outside without cigarette smoke blowing your way.
The new airport is very nice, but bring your walking shoes. I was most impressed with the size of the bathroom stalls. You can actually fit in the stall, with your luggage, without climbing around the toilet.
Fairly easy to navigate, I was a bit lost at first but I managed to find my way around to get everything I needed done. Although I was a bit sad that they took my unopened Gatorade I was saving for my flight and then had to buy another one, but as a Security Guard myself I understood. But still would have been nice to keep my unopened drink at least.
I have no problems parking, picking people up, getting directions to where I need to go, the people there work fast and efficient.
Clean, quick, large airport. Staff is helpful and works fast. Delays occur in winter months.
Best airport ever. Hardly ever wait long for luggage and the security lines are never long.
Great airport. being in construction this is what builders dream of building.
Not crowded, food prices were very reasonable and good
They should plan alternative transportation during the construction. You have to walk 15-25 minutes to get to your gate. That s crazy. Other than that it looks very clean and beautiful new terminal .
Nice and modern airport, good services, high prices, comfortable.
For a saterday afternoon. Its not to busy. Just relaxing waiting for plane to arrive. The only negative at the moment was the road construction upon entering airport. Other than that nice, cool, and relaxing enviorment.
Love the new airport. Even baggage claim is faster than before.
This is a clean, well-maintained Airport with friendly staff. The Delta Airline staff was particularly friendly. This airport provides free Wi-Fi. It doesn t require watching commercials or cut you off after 15 minutes. This is an very nice airport and the people in Salt Lake should be proud of their airport.
Flew out of SLC on 10/10/2020 going on vacation. It should have been a happy start, but was quite frustrating. Began with endless walking to get to where you're going, then having to deal with the rude staff at baggage check in and security check left us with a bad experience. To top it off, our luggage was sent to the wrong destination, and when it finally arrived hours later, it was soaking wet, inside and out.
Flew here via delta airlines . one of the worst trips ever. We got off the plane onto the runway.... Haven't done that in decades. Airport looked small and deserted. The further we walked the bigger the place for and more crowded it got. Had to ask directions several times to find my way outside. Once outside it was horiffic. Card stopping across several lanes of traffic to drop off and pick up people...there was also a lot of construction going on.. Once we got off of airport property or was smooth sailing..
Worst airport I've ever been thru by a landslide. Over-crowded like a busy Tokyo street at rush hour.. No where to sit, bathrooms over-crowded and dirty. This airport can't properly handle the traffic and should be avoided. I will never book a trip that includes this stop in it again. Conveniently 30 minutes late due to airport incompetence. No communication then try and cover up there incompetence by blaming others. If avoidable remove Salt Lake city from all travel arrangements
Nice airport overall. Most workers were not very friendly or helpful at first but then they were nice as time went on. Very good selection of food and merchandise in terminal 2. Not a bad place for a 3 hour layover...
I like the new airport. It is spacious and a clean.
The customer service (specifically for the delta flights) at this airport is horrible. I missed a connecting flight, because of the plane being late and when I asked them what to do, they basically told me, sleep here over night, there's nothing else I can do for you, now leave thank god for delta customer serice or I'd be stuck in the airport for 10 hours. If you need to go here, give yourself lots of time and do everything you can to not have to ask for help cause you won't get it from anyone but the janitors.
Simple little airport. Bags take an hour to arrive. Service is mediocre
Easy Peezy when you're with the one you love, from Chris and Anita Brown
Salt Lake City airport has to be one of the most disgusting airports ever!!! Every bathroom in the ticketing area smells like old urine, which seems to be just wiped around, but never mopped. Food options are horrible and overpriced. And forget asking for help, the airport officers just tell you something wrong or just ignore you all together. Save your time and money and fly thru another airport.
Very easy to navigate through the airport especially when connections are short.
Nice to fly out of the new airport! LOVE the look inside the airport. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Bathroom stalls were roomy enough for you and your luggage. Didn't have to wait long in the security line. No Flight delays. Thanks SLC see you soon!
Suler long walks. Good exercise. Especially when one of the belts are broke
I think this is the best airport. The workers are wonderful today.
Stunning!
Easy to get through the check points!
Very pretty and the people who do the wheelchair pushing are absolutely wonderful!!!!
My home town airport and one of my favorite airports. The Delta Sky Club is very nice, security lines are usually short comparatively. Free public WiFi. Trax train service is nice, but early and late hours can be iffy.
Line through TSA fast and efficient. Food and stores next to all terminals
Salt Lake City Airport Authority: A Comprehensive Guide to the New SLC Airport
Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is one of the busiest airports in the United States, serving more than 26 million passengers annually. The airport is operated by Salt Lake City Airport Authority, a government agency responsible for managing and maintaining the airport's facilities and services.
In September 2020, Salt Lake City International Airport opened its new terminal complex, which replaced the old terminals that had been in use since the 1960s. The new SLC airport is a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet modern aviation standards while providing an exceptional passenger experience.
The New SLC Terminal Complex
The new terminal complex at SLC covers an area of over 2 million square feet and features two linear concourses with a total of 78 gates. The concourses are connected by a central terminal building that houses security checkpoints, baggage claim areas, and various retail and dining options.
One of the most notable features of the new SLC airport is its flexible design. The airport was designed to be adaptable to changing operational needs and passenger volumes. This means that as air travel evolves over time, so too can the facilities at SLC.
Sustainability was also a key consideration in designing the new terminal complex. The airport has implemented numerous environmentally friendly features such as energy-efficient lighting systems, water-saving fixtures, and solar panels on parking structures.
Passenger Experience
The primary goal of Salt Lake City Airport Authority when designing the new terminal complex was to provide passengers with an exceptional travel experience from start to finish. To achieve this goal, they focused on several key areas:
Check-In: Passengers can check-in for their flights using self-service kiosks or with assistance from airline staff at traditional check-in counters.
Security: Security checkpoints are located throughout each concourse to minimize wait times for passengers. TSA PreCheck lanes are also available for eligible travelers.
Retail & Dining: There are over 50 retail shops and restaurants located throughout both concourses offering everything from grab-and-go snacks to sit-down meals from local chefs.
Amenities: In addition to traditional amenities like restrooms and charging stations, there are several unique amenities available at SLC such as pet relief areas and nursing rooms for mothers traveling with infants.
Accessibility: All areas of the airport have been designed with accessibility in mind including wheelchair ramps throughout all levels of both concourses.
Conclusion
Salt Lake City International Airport's new terminal complex represents a significant investment in modernizing one of America's busiest airports while providing passengers with an exceptional travel experience. With its flexible design approach that prioritizes sustainability without sacrificing functionality or convenience for travelers passing through it every day - it’s no wonder why this facility has become so popular among frequent flyers!
