An interesting choice of visit on foot, by bike or by train. Mandatory stop to work a responsible local economy and with a protected and respected biodiversity !!!
visited the last veek-end.
Too expensive for what it is!
Trains crowded, old and uncomfortable.
the sound of the audio tape was deplorable.
The microphone of the guide was HS, she had to scream for us to hear.
beautiful scenery and beautiful color but you can see almost the same along the saline roads or roads.
the little plus a climb on a dune of salt about 20m high with a beautiful view of the ramparts and saline, but without any comment from the guide.
2 shops with quite salty prices! one would have been enough.
1 museum and explanatory panels that are starting to date.
a girl who loses her bracelet on the road and the whole train that screams to stop the driver, but then leaves the grandmother and her two grandchildren in the middle of the industrial saltworks complex, despite our cries for she stops and is waiting for them.
In short, it is too expensive and it is very average, not ready to go back there if it does not make an effort to modernize and improve the situation.
Yet there are many people, read the last comments because I'm not the only one.
Very nice visit of salt in small train. A magical place to go without hesitation!
Do not miss this visit, you have to do it, we enjoyed it.
The little train ride is very pleasant, the stop by the interesting museum, and the climb on a stunning camel! I unfortunately forgot the name of our guide (08/31 at 4:30 PM) who was very nice with a lot of humor
Very good, good explanations, too bad we stop at the museum. And we would have liked more explanatory panels rather than a shop that we necessarily find at the exit
Nice place but tourist trap, always pay to see a few things
Nice family trip with a little train. The explanations are clear on the operation of the salt flats and the landscapes are superb. However the price is a bit high and the saline products are more expensive than in the trade ... a shame!
The previous reviews made me a little skeptical, but I've been to the region many times and never visited the salt lakes. I wanted to change that now. I can only say that it is definitely worth it, as there are audio guides for 2, with which you can get all the information in German, English, Spanish and Italian. We took the tour with the little train, where there are two stops at a museum and a climb on a salt mountain. We recommend.
Walk in super nice train.
We discover the history of salt and its 1000 uses.
Superb place to visit, beautiful by little train only downside some products in the shop are less expensive in store not normal for a factory
Pretty discovery it's worth it! To be sivous are in the corner
Interesting tour, but nothing exceptional.
One learns how are table salt harvest, snow and flower.
Passage in the salt flats, visit of one hour in a small train.
We ride on a camel of salt and we have a nice panorama.
In short, a nice visit that explains well where does this famous salt with the whale that is on our tables sometimes.
Personally, I would like to see the factory or are packaged salt and other recipe (I imagine that the professional secrecy must be preserved).
Today, you line up from 10:15 am to 10:45 am in front of the ticket office and arrive your turn to tell yourself that the next train is at 1:30 pm. An indication on a sign would have been useful. Pity . Lots of people disappointed.
We had a great time, a good visit. Thanks to the guide. Worth it
The visit to the Salins is very good, but the safety distances in the little train are not respected at all. We have knees that touch the people opposite.
They fill the train to the maximum without taking into account COVID.
10 euros is the price of a cinema ticket, two kebabs, 10 baguettes of bread, the rental of a kayak for 1 hour, a trip to Paris Nantes by train. In short, so many things that are worth more than this visit to the salt marshes given the deplorable conditions that must be endured to do it. Crowded like animals with strangers, even in times of Covid. To flee.
Very pretty, beautiful color schemes.
The guide is great, we learned a lot. 2 stops, one to climb on a camel, the other to visit the salt museum. Very good, I recommend.
14 balls to visit a tide !? We visited the Algeco and it will stay there.
nice visit, especially for families with children, very pleasant train
no distancing we are crammed into this train a couple does not wear the mask rather bad experience. to avoid nowadays
The visit with the little train is nice and well commented
The only thing that is not more expensive is that we pay 10 at the cash desk then when getting off the train the driver asks to think of him and we feel obliged to give the room because he waits at the exit
The souvenir shop is a bit expensive but nice
Congratulations to our guide Karim who has very well commented the visit despite the problems of micro guide very professional and attentive to people a thousand thanks to this gentleman
Unique place in the heart of a captivating Camargue. The Salin d'Aigues-Mortes is a dynamic company, rooted in its territory and heir to a know-how that must be valued. To do this, various activities are offered by the structure, from accompanied hiking to a little train ride between ponds and camels. The latter, accompanied by a guide, will allow you to learn more about an exceptional environment with preserved biodiversity and the activity of salt workers whose different stages of work you can easily imagine. Halfway through, a visit to the salt museum is offered.
Undoubtedly activity to do. As playful as it is educational.
Guide super nice and strongly believe that it tells so we are interested and we leave happy with this visit thank you again
The trip on the little train was brilliant. Now I ve read reviews by English people saying it was bad because there was no translation but I say embrace the opportunity to just listen to some French and appreciate the views which are spectacular! The driver of the train tells you stuff and is clearly passionate about salt! You stop to look around a little museum and another stop to climb a mound of salt for spectacular views! If anything it is worth it just for this. Saw flamingos and hummingbird moths and dragonflies flew alongside and through the train. If you have a big proper job camera, probably don t even think about using this as you are rattling all over the place. Use your phone and save your big camera for the top of the salt mound.
If you are in the area, you can't help but visit them
Enchanting
Nice to visit. Beautiful to see and the guide in the train going around the salt flats were really nice. Must do if you are in the area!
The site is splendid certe but of all my career of driver I never had to make autan of stinginess !!!! The hostesses are very pleasant and smiling almost embarrassed of requests 1.50euros to the driver for coffee. .. in 28 years of career and having made all the monuments of France and Navarre and abroad it is the first time that I pay a coffee. ... even small shopkeepers are always a gesture for the bus driver who brings about fifty customers who spend on average twenty euros ... well short call it radinland will be more credible ... more it brews money the less it gives the saying is verrified!
Very nice tour in 4x4.
Very pleasant and passionate guide.
A must in the Camargue to discover the manufacture of salt while exploring a protected place.
The 1h15 train trip (10.3 / adult) is pleasant with the explanations of the driver and the passage through the museum.
Useful info: the salt harvest period is in September
We would like to discover more of this area of 9000 hectares including the ubiquitous fauna and flora.
Superb tour by train with an excellent guide who loves his job. Stop on a camelle de sel.ne not hesitate to ask to increase the sound in the small train if necessary.
To do rather in the morning. Ideally 9h30 or 10h.
The salt does not work on weekends. The activity is seasonal.
Nice shop, prices a little lower than in some downtown shops.
Very nice site! The visit is really worth it between the salt production and the birds! On the other hand, we were attacked by dozens of tiger mosquitoes ... Horrible!
Very enriching experience!
Super documented tour in the little train in the salt flats during the salt harvest period!
A magnificent landscape of many colors.
You ask yourself questions about salt, you will find all your answers during this visit.
Very rewarding experience to discover from the inside!
We are 7 for a visit of the site by bike (our bikes). Price of the visit: 20 per person, or 140.
We then look at the price of the walking tour: 8 50 and 10 by small train.
How to justify this scandalous price difference? "It is a dissuasive price because the route is not suitable for cycling, and that avoids mass tourism".
Strange when small trains of 200 people stuck together leave during the Covid period. All this in an unfriendly tone, pure jerk. It is shameful. And personally I think that such a complete little train pollutes much more than 7 bikes.
You might as well ban bikes rather than have this kind of practice.
To avoid
We take full view, it's wonderful a place not to be missed if you come to the Camargue
I loved it
Beautiful place and the explanations of the guides understandable for all ages!
Very nice site. The train ride was nice especially with the kids
A superb moment despite the heat the little train was nice with its breeze of wind not great discovery
An amazing place it is always interesting to visit the saltworks. A flat on the "tacky" approach of the little train. We would have preferred the bike ride but they were not installed.
Do not accept dogs, even on a leash and even very small . Parking in full sun if you want to leave the dog in the car for 1 hour, the time of the visit. Shop catches tourists with overpriced products.
Certainly very interesting if you could understand something. The best way to buy a ticket is online. Unfortunately, non-French visitors are not dealt with here either. The entire tour is only in French. For Western Europeans, at least explaining in English seems too much to ask. Too bad.
A bit of a tourist trap apart from the birds and the salt heaps we do not see the pickup
Informative visit with a guide who masters his subject. Postcard landscapes throughout the little train ride!
A mysterious experience. Why are flamingos pink? I didn't know the relationship with plankton.
Informative and beautiful views. Visit by train, to be booked online to avoid the long wait at the cash desk on site. Wearing a mask is compulsory, and HA gel available in store. We are a little tight, but hardly more than in a bus. Row of 4
Hello
But what happened on the little train we will stay there for the whole vacation here no covid
The trains are armored with people 4 by seats glued tight no disinfection
No disinfection before departure and a driver has the limit of politeness and respect for people
A real disaster
The media should come take a tour and reveal the truth
Walking tour of more than 2 hours with a very professional guide who loves his work and who perfectly masters the subject. Thank you for your knowledge and your company. Beautiful place, impressive! Very nice memory of the Camargue! Beautiful area!
A very nice visit! Breathtaking landscapes! Congratulations to Jerome for his explanations!
To do absolutely but at the end of the day around 7:00 p.m.
I went in May, the visit is really very interesting and we learn a lot of things. If this site is on your way I advise you to stop there, it's really constructive and quite impressive too. In addition the staff is very good, present the place well and answer questions. It shows that they like what they do and that's nice!
Nice guided tour
Little train designed for people with reduced mobility
We were visiting the saline end of August 2019 a cat ... little train with a record but we did not hear anything the guide did not address us a word ... (a priori it was named Jerome)
Back in October and we came across a driver guide at the top (karim) of incredible kindness who accompanied us explained us well and
answered our questions nothing to do with the first visit ...
A real pleasure !
A karim board ask you will not be disappointed;)
Rather nice visit except the fact that social distancing is not respected at all.
We are piled up on benches with unknown people.
This is unacceptable at this time of the upsurge in covid.
In addition, the driver's explanations are often quite vague.
Magnificent site ramparts and fortified city lunch on the spot
Terrible place that thinks too much of themselves. Very little explanation of options to see the Salin - train (with zero explanation of the rod, stops, duration), on foot (not possible without supervision except at the weekend - what the heck??), by bicycle... so apparently you need to come prepared and know exactly how everything works here. Arrived at 13:30, train is only available at 15, but since no tours before - well we just sit and wait like idiots. Drove two hours to see this and will never come back or recommend it.
Departure of the visit to the Salins that we did by little train. No explanations on the whole trip. Vague comments from the train driver, full of good will, but very approximate. Equipment, museum and site close to being abandoned. Too expensive.
Splendid scenery and interesting visit.
Friendly and welcoming guide.
A little train ride to do if you are in the area. Beautiful photos of the pink water, and salt museum. souvenir shop.
Full train, safety distance not respected. All on top of each other while there is still COVID. Ineligible.
The visit was not even commented on. While there is another train talking the whole length of the tour.
For the price its not worth it.
The guide does not explain to us or he does not wait for everyone to explain.
Too bad.
The free bike tour leads past the salt pans and salt lakes. The path is not paved, a mountain bike is recommended. The distance is about 11km without inclines. Nice views of Aigues Mortes included.
September 16, 2017 with the CASSC REGION OCCITANIA I made a very beautiful visit of this place which is beautiful.
An informative tour about the production of the different types of salt that we can consume.
The salt flats are to be seen especially for the walk in the pink salt marshes and the view of acute dead. Half-hearted visit because the no explanation during the journey. Only by the guide at the stops. The tours are not similar because the other guide was giving explanations on the train. So great results for the site less for the service. It was the 5:30 p.m. departure.
We enjoyed this little tour by train. Which was very instructive for my son.
Small pleasant train ride but nothing more. ..
Quick walk through the salt flats without much to chew on, but fortunately. ... Nice view of the ramparts of Aigues Mortes from the top of the camelle
Deserves more explanations on the salt extraction work itself
Small tour by train, colors of Salins very pretty. Beautiful view at the top of the camel.
Negative point: little audible explanations because of jarring on the road and advice reserved your tickets before because otherwise you may have to wait. There was 1 hour of waiting for us ...
The very very pleasant smiling train drivers make the people of the shop unpleasant
Interesting. The visit to the salt museum in 15 minutes at a time and quite prohibitive in price whether in the museum or in the shop, we expect something less expensive being the place of production. Special tourist price otherwise the ticket is not exorbitant.
Crushed like sardines to fill the train to max.
Went out because no respect for distancing.
Our paid places have been directly replaced in order to make the shuttle even more profitable
Scandalous! Dangerous! To believe that they have already forgotten the damage of the first wave ...
We chose the service ride by train of one hour
Tickets were purchased on site. In full hours, the trains are a little too full.
We enjoyed the visit very much. Too bad she was fast.
Fantastic experience on the little train that passes inside the salt pans, the view from the top of the salt mountain is wonderful.
