This place has great food and grill. The sushi was fresh and very tasty, you won't be getting sick here. I reduced them one star because the atmosphere could be a little nicer. They have a good amount of seating but are busy in the evenings so I would make a reservation if you can. I haven't been for lunch but heard that they have great lunch specials.

The service was slow, and I ordered chicken with rice, but the rice didnt come out until 15 minutes after I ate my rice. Not only that, but about half the people I was with spoke Spanish, so the chef spoke in Spanish the entire time. I had no Idea what was going on the entire time. He must have been pretty funny, because everyone was laughing a lot, yet sadly I missed out on all the jokes. I will never come back here again. Not only that but the food was not special at all. It was pretty good, but not worth the price.

I have been here a number of times and just love the lunch Bento Box for under $10. I sometimes share the Bento Box because it's so much food.

One time my husband had a meal that he really did not like at all and the manager immediately took the price off the bill.

It get really crowded sometimes, but the staff always seems to be helpful.

This place closes at 9 PM Monday through Thursday. But be sure to get there before that if you plan on eating. They actually close at 8:45pm, so that you'll drive all the way there and be told they will not serve you. They actually won't answer the phone past 8:30 and will take it off the hook so they don't have to take calls. So if you plan on a later dinner, get there early or you will actually be sent away if you arrive anytime after 8:45. Horrible horrible horrible.

Sushi is artful and very good, service lacks menu knowledge and was not great overall...but without question this place is worth your evening! Crunchy California Roll was our favorite, edamame and gyoza were well prepared and flavorful. Call ahead, parking can be tight.

This place is close by. I used to eat here all the time, but they must have changed management. The new manager has no clue. Food and service are not the same anymore. . They are going backwards. I still go to their other locations

Such amazing sushi and huge portions. I always overeat because it's so darn good...even when I order from their lunch menu. Forget those upscale wanna be sushi joints, this one's for reals! :)

sushi, mmm, excellent. Staff is always timely even when they have a full house. I'll return with my coworkers. This place has a nice atmosphere. Reminds me of a restaurant in Philadelphia that I enjoyed.

The fish and veggies are fresh and the specialty rolls are unique and delicious. We loved the Las Vegas, caterpillar, red dragon, Salomon bomber, blood orange, and spicy tuna. The Philly roll was a little less than others I've had but the other rolls we ordered made up for it.
Our waitress was very new but remained attentive to our party, which with the large amount we ordered was very appreciated. Food arrived promptly and each roll came quickly after the first. I'm eager to return to try the teppan tables!

Sakana is a great sushi restaurant and a staple in my eating out. They have very good food, are open to preparation requests. I have even asked their chefs to surprise me with whatever they want and they do a bold, delicious presentation. If you like sushi, this is the place to go south of Phoenix.

First off the service here was absolutely great. I was taken care of promptly and questions were answered when asked. Mostly Julian helped me so thanks dude. Second the sushi here was fantastic. This place does not hold back on flavor or portion. This restaurant is well worth a stop and it won't blow up the budget. If you are thinking of eating here stop thinking and do it already.

Visited twice for lunch with coworkers. Good for a fast lunch if you're just looking to fill up on rolls.

Ambience: dark, cramped, loud music - more along the lines of a college/20-something pub. Can be hard to have a conversation, and no privacy (tables are back to back). Clean and tidy tho.

Service: pleasant & attentive but not memorable or personable.

Food: disappointing mediocre American style Japanese. Lots of cheap rolls for lunch hour specials if that's to your taste. Rice is obviously made well in advance, it's somewhat dry and doesn't stick well. I've had both chirashi and the sashimi plate and not been impressed; sashimi pieces were not completely cut thru, for instance (multiple pieces still attached to one another) and the quality of the fish seems low (eg, the tuna tasted off to me, enough so that I didn't eat it).

We heard a lot about this place, but I was disappointed with the service so much that it didn't matter or not the food was good. The waitress was not prepared. She maade us wait for straws even after we ordered our entrees. This was after a long wait for a table and other small groups were taken before us. I gave them the benefit of doubt but when a waitress takes your drink order and tells you I don't have straws. Made me think... Why would you serve drinks and not have straws?

My husband and I went for the first time on Sunday. We ordered to go and the order was taking a long time. It was a sushi roll and teriyaki chicken. After waiting for half an hour my husband was told that they had forgotten about the order. He attempted to cancel it and that is when the food was brought out. Per the manager, they gave us soup for the wait. There was no soup in the bag. Extremely disappointed.

We ate here tonight and the service was at best awful. We ordered 5 sushi rolls and a chicken teriyaki dish for 3 of us.

They brought our food and gave us two small plates so I asked 3 separate times for another plate. Finally getting one and never hardly seeing her again except hanging out in the kitchen area. Never refilled my drink, and almost forgot one roll which I reminded her about which she finally brought after we were done and ready to leave. To top it all off when paying she gave me a pen that would not mechanically write. You had to try to hold the button down and write at the same time. Of coarse she never came back by so I never left a tip. Could not write anything.

The food was ok the sushi was maybe a 7 out of 10. The teriyaki dish was barely a 3 out of 10. The chicken was rubbery vegetables were slightly cooked and the sauce was ok. I am 100 % sure we won t be back.
