My children are very happy with the service and selections. As a parent of a child with several food allergies, it was comforting to sit and talk with the manager and learn about their extensive safety protocols.

Their so-called prepared meals from scratch are horrible, deplorable and just down right disgusting. Unfortunately, I have to hear everyday how the bad food is and how poorly prepared each & every meal my kids have at school. My suggestion get a real Chef and a staff with food preparation experience for large groups.

My school recently started using sage dining services. WORST MISTAKE OF THEIR LIFE. if you are a teacher reading this make sure you don't switch. My school has sent numerous emails asking us about the food because we are always complaining. They can't seem to make a pizza without it being drenched in grease. Please don't make the same mistake my school did.

SAGE Dining Services has been a wonderful company ...

SAGE Dining Services has been a wonderful company to work with. I have worked with SAGE for 6 years and have been promoted from Sous Chef to AFSD. We get to make fresh scratch made meals for the community. We offer monthly Educational Seasonings where we can educate the community about a new topic each month. The menus are written by the chefs at each community so you can tailor your menus to what your community likes. We educate about nutrition and how to eat a balanced meal with our Spotlight Program. At my school I hold educational classes with our lower school students. We learn about balancing your choices, we taste the rainbow (fresh raw veggies like bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, etc.) and we take a tour of the kitchen and meet the SAGE team. On top of feeding lunch to the community we help with caterings around campus. From a coffee set up for a meeting to executing a formal Gala. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with SAGE and look forward to the future with this company.

I wish I could leave 0.1 star. This food is so freaking bad. My friend has found hair and bugs in his food, and another friend of mine got sick because she ate their food. I haven't eaten lunch for the past 2-3 weeks, out of fear for my own health and wellbeing. If you have to deal with the hellish nightmare of a dining service called Sage Dining Services, please do yourself a favor, and don't eat it. If you don't have to deal with this nightmare, then you are lucky. I wish I was you right now. I hope this review helps schools realize their terrible sin and torture upon the Earth's children. The only people that deserve this kind of torture are people that play Fortnite and think it's better than the glorious creation that is Minecraft. If you enjoy this, I hope you realize your sin and that you will rectify it soon.

SAGE is the greatest career move I have made. Across the entire company I've seen nothing but passion and desire to offer children and their schools, fresh, locally drive food, scratch made with unmatched passion. Everyone at SAGE has the best interest in mind for the children to make sure they understand no food "is bad"...that should be consumed in moderation. I am honored to represent SAGE and everything it stands for!

I don't like lunch anymore due to Sage. I've even taken the extreme measure of ordering DoorDash to school because I can't eat their food. I've attached a picture of their chicken (aka Salmonella). Warning: Graphic photo!:

My theory as to why sage is so bad is that they spend more time making fancy names for the food than actually cooking good food. It is always band and disgusting. This should be 0 stars but it doesn't let me.

Oh boy, I wish I could put 0 out of 5 stars for this, but sadly Google Reviews won't let me do that. When I think of Sage Dining, three words come to mind: disgusting, odious, and repulsive. You see, our school tried to "upgrade" the quality and freshness of our lunch food by switching to Sage, but it was probably the most anticlimactic downgrade ever in our school's history. It's not the little cute additions Sage Dining implemented into our lunch options, like the salad bar, the panini press and sandwich station. It's not that, it's what's actually coming out of the ovens and off of the stoves. Sage Dining is inconsistently awful. To me, it's like a seesaw. Some days it's delicious, other it's nasty and unsavory. But, what takes the cake as the most atrocious food Sage served was the "chicken." Somedays I was so hungry that I had to force myself to eat this so called "food." One day, while talking with my friends about Sage, I said that it is dog food. After I said that, one of my friends responded saying he would never feed his dog this unappetizing, distasteful so called "food."

SAGE has been a great place to work. SAGE constantly takes the time and energy to train all staff. The team at SAGE takes a lot of pride in what they do & are always trying to make it better.

As for the food, it is always made fresh! Allergies are a major priority with SAGE (we don't use any peanut products) and we do everything to make people aware of any potential allergies.

The work-life balance is nice. The school where I work has been enjoyable and the faculty are very friendly.

Literal Trash

Literal Trash
It should not even be called a dining service, my dog eats better than me
The employees serve the food on one side of the plate and it falls every time they hand it to me
It would be great if their rating would be a one-star so that they realize how bad it is and fix their lunch program

Anyone who gives this place more than one star is getting paid or has zero taste in food. My school currently uses sage dining and every dish they serve is awful. Everyone at my school agrees with me, and hates there dinners. Their is only a few thing they do right but overall the food is not good quality, and can sometimes be too dry or lack flavor. For a school that charges me $56000 a year in tuition you would expect better food.

I experience no hair or nail in food like other students do. However, the only things I like of Sage Dining's food are ice-cream and sausage, but I think the sausage can be made way better by simply putting cold German sausage straight into the oven. What is so called Asian cuisine they make is a reproach to authentic Asian cuisine. Please do not avoiding visiting Vietnam just because you try some "Vietnamese cuisine" made by the Sage Dining. They literally cook Asian food with American or Mexican style and seasoning. For the burger, they serve us with rotten beef for one dinner. Some students commented that they found nails, hairs in the food, or food makes they feel sick, or the staffs are rude. I have experienced none of those. Actually the Sage Dining staffs at my school are very friendly so I give the company one more star, otherwise it would have zero star.

I do not want to talk to any manager or report any staff. Please do not respond to this comment and do not ask about my bad experience.

Food is often raw or greasy, would highly not recommend hiring sage dining until some reforms are made. Again and again they have served pink chicken fingers and many people including myself have gotten sick. I do not feel comfortable eating the school's lunch for fear of my own safety

My school switched to SAGE this year and it sucks. They spend so much times on the names for the food and not the food itself. They feel the need to bring in food from around the world, but when you can't make pizza without drenching it in grease, you shouldn't try to make sushi. All the five star reviews her are from workers, not consumers. Bottom line the food is garbage.

Save yourself... save money, time, the lining of your stomach, your income from the students paying for your school or lunch...please

End my suffering that is SAGE Dining Services. My school's food was actually decent and had a variety of desserts, salad, fruits, sandwiches, etc. I got sick after 1 week of eating their food, and I am still having a lingering cough after 2 weeks. I have been spared from finding hair or bugs, yet the ice cream sandwiches, which we only have once a week, are the only thing I enjoy. My brother enjoys the food, but his taste buds have been eradicated by the 'sports' drink. The chocolate milk is just unshaken Yoo-hoo mixed with water. Good day, sir and ma'am and non-binary jam.

When the tuition to your school is upwards of 35,000 dollars I don t think expecting good food is out of the ordinary. In this case, it is, Not only is the beef undercooked, chewy, and all around terrible, everything is. If my school were to take a survey with the students about the lunch, I guarantee at least 80% of them would say it s nasty. It s getting to the point where not eating at lunch is normal and not unique. My school had amazing lunch when I shadowed and for the first year and then Sage came along and that was the end of that.

Let my husband go after 12+ years of blood, sweat, & tears, just as we were heading for vacation!
Always received 100% on his food inspections, always the highest ratings from his bosses, never any complaints from his schools he worked at.
Was not offered any kind of severance, nor any explanation as to why he was let go . We have bills like everyone else and he truly did enjoy his job.
He is a wonderful person and an incredibly talented chef. I know his gifts and talents will be recognized elsewhere. It s too bad he was never even given a reason for being let go. No loyalty. Very sad and heartbreaking.

Well, I don't know what else to say. A lot of thes...

Well, I don't know what else to say. A lot of these reviews are telling pretty awful tales of the food being bad, with one student even posting a photo of undercooked chicken.
But that is not the case for me at all.
Let me just say that Sage has been doing a VERY good job with my school lunch, (Cincinnati Country Day School for the curious) ever since I started school in the first place. of my 10+ years I've been at school, the only bad thing I've encountered is just some milk that was slightly spoiled.
And that's it.
Their food is quite excellent, and there's a lot of variety. A lot. It is easily the best in all of the schools that are in my area, and the fact that they have a menu online (and an app too) is pretty helpful. Anything they serve me is almost always good, there is no doubt of that. Burgers, chicken, soup, pasta, pizza, it's all quite well prepared.
The lunch ladies are very nice. I've been coming up and ordering my food with them for so long now, and they're extremely efficient and kind. No matter what, they're kind, and always willing to help. This is especially helpful since there are a number of kids in my school with allergies and need to have their food catered to them. This description does not do justice to them.
I should also briefly mention that even in the age of COVID-19, they're doing quite well. Besides a minor fallback or two (Which is understandable and normal considering the restrictions), they're still serving lunches that are as delicious and well done as ever.
Keep it up Sage!

I have worked for SAGE Dining for almost the last 4 years, and in coming from larger companies with different scopes and styles, I find SAGE a category and industry leader in our approach to guest service, and aligning ourselves with our clients core values and needs. Our menus are all tailored to each location, each town, each audience, each region, by the on site Chef Manager so that favorites can be enjoyed daily and not written by someone in an office a thousand miles away. SAGE truly embodies freshly made locally-sourced foods from scratch, served in a safe and welcoming environment where all foods fit and matter. Every member of our service-minded team strives to Set A Good Example every day with tasty food, cleanliness, safety, and smile aplenty.

The food here is what you would expect to find in the "Hot Meals" section of a ghetto 7-Eleven except it is very expensive. The "chefs" here just heat up frozen chicken every day, and it is very nasty. I do not recommend this meal service.

Not professional at all. They say they are willing to give people a chance, but they don't want to hire anyone with a record that doesn't have anything to do with the position they are going for. Even with the charge being nearly 10 years old. The hiring associate was very rude. Basically waived it off and not trying to make a consideration or take anything seriously. You were kept in the dark about the fact of them not going to even hire me in the first place for 3 weeks. I had told the hiring manager of the site about my recorded and she told me that shouldn't be a problem at all. However they kept dragging me on as if they hired me for the position the whole time. My friend worked there and only lasted for 3 weeks. The site where she was oddly is frequently hiring due to a very rude and egotistical manager running a monk forcing 4 other employee's to eave shortly after she did. When I went for the job we found out that manager was no longer there. And she tried to reapply. She was told she would receive a call for confirmation if that would be a problem of not. She never did receive a call and she had the courtesy to be professional and give them a call when she decided to leave rather not show up for work. Very one sided company and a bit sexist. They give male employee's more chances then they due women.

Hello. I have been eating sage dining for about a year and a half now, and while it is certainly an upgrade from the food before, the appearance of the food needs upgrading. the meatballs are hard as rocks, bouncy, and appear and to be made out of rubber. they are delicious. the pasta is very greasy and scrumptious. the monotonous pasta diets are making us obese. oh well. ob la di ob la da life goes on i suppose.
this is from an interview. thank you. also, never get rid of the oyster crackers. they are one of the only tolerable things on this god awful menu.
remember bruno says ," whatever this is it tastes horrid"

this is terrible i eat it everyday for school and i am allergic to gluten. today i went hungry and my friend and i were dying to eat. we never know if we can eat anything so we just have to guess. its pasta every single day (with SAGE made marinara sauce) and its really annoying. if its not pasta its some cheap pre-made food. some times we have pizza and the gluten free pizza is literally gluten free pita bread with cheese. we don't even get pizza sauce. today it was cheese quesadillas that my lactose-intolerant brother and friend couldn't eat. the rice was terrible. the soup was clearly not made for children and neither are the salads. they are made for rats. it's funny because they are always telling you to eat healthy but we see the workers take out the salad FROM BOXES. at first, you will love sage. then, you will absolutely hate it and will wonder why your parents pay $1,000 for you to go hungry and/or eat horrible food.

I rest my case.

Recently, St. Mark's school of Texas changed their food provider to Sage Dining, which stands for Sucky Awful Garbage Eats. I am a parent of a student their and he has come home sick with food poisoning many times this year. My son says that boiled and raw chicken is served 3-4 times a week. The worst day was when the white SAGE workers tried to make fried chicken. He says that some were burnt and other were bland. All and all the only good thing sage has is the yogurt, which they buy. They try to be fancy and make their own salad dressings, but it taste like pee and watered down ranch.
