Thoroughly enjoyed the adapted Irish version of the swan lake. Beware, the theatre operates slightly unconventional rules. One of them is that if you get shushed, you MUST shush back at them!

The reason for four stars as always the performance was magnificent and mesmerising. However, this not a place to really have pre drinks as there is no seating available and the decor is stark. Please don't let this detour you from seeing a performance here.

Offering many forms of dance, from contemporary ballet to hip hop, touring shows, one off events and double/triple bills.

The performances here leave memories that endure for life. The exquisite beauty of movement causes a profound shift in my emotions and I walk out on air, shaken n" stirred, because the sensual experience reaches right inside of me, touching my soul, and bringing tears of joy.

The theatre has good sound and is renowned for it's lighting design. The auditorium space is plain and functional in appearance, but the small size means everyone has a great view of the stage. Plenty of solo patrons too, so whether you're visiting in a group or on your own, you will be surrounded by fellow enthusiasts that 'feel' touched by dance too.

I still have memories of the old original theatre with red velvet seating; my mum started taking me to the ballet from aged 7.
The new theatre is very accessible inside and close to public transport links.
Some shows have standing room at the front.

My favourite performance here, was 'The Faun'.
Again, I cried -- it was one of the most soul stirring performances I have ever seen. My heart nearly exploded and the roof nearly lifted off with the multiple encores of applause.

Beautiful venue dedicated to dance performances near Angel Station. Very good seating overall, even when you are seating at the top circle. I have attended to several performances and it really does not matter where you are, the view is fantastic. Easy to get in and getting out, which is very good when there is an interval during the performance. Several bars and speedy service and very good priced. I had the chance to go backstage and look at the theatre from the artist perspective, which did nothing but increase my liking of the venue. Highly recommended.

A meeting place of like minded modern dance/ballet enthusiasts. Being away from the West End feels less pretentious and money grabbing. However the good seats are not cheap. Always very busy. Friendly doorman. Good facilities. No central aisle in the First Circle means lots of disturbance.
Good places to eat pre performance in Exmouth Market, just 10 mins walk

Went to see a show, the the was so uncomfortably hot that I had to leave at the interval! Very disappointed that I missed half the show.

I did mention it to one of the staff and they told me that a person had taken ill in the theatre due to the heat.

It was our first time at the Sadler's Well Theatre...

It was our first time at the Sadler's Well Theatre and we were lucky enough to get ticket's for the one off Conversation and Music evening with Annie Lennox. The show was fantastic and the theatre was as you would expect. However, the whole thing was spoilt and let down massively by some Theatre Goers just before the interval that was compounded by the Theatre staff themselves.

About 10 minutes before the interval when the first half was winding down a few people in the audience got up and went to the bar to get their drinks early and before the interval rush. (Why not pre-book them like everyone else did?) Now we all know that once you are in your theatre seat you are not getting out unless half the row stands up and lets you squeeze past. So, with the first half still going several rows of people were disturbed and had to stand up, blocking the view of the rows behind, to let these people out.

To make matters worse the same people came back into the auditorium a few minutes later, now carrying their drinks, and the same rows had to stand up all over again to let them squeeze back in.

I doubt the Theatre could stop people leaving the auditorium for any reason whether the show was ongoing or not but why were they allowed back in again to cause a second lot of unnecessary disruption?

Spoilt an otherwise very special night.

I tried to speak to the Theatre last night and this morning to get their take on it but they are not replying to anything.

As a long term Friend and Patron I cannot recommend Sadlers Wells enough. A strong repertoire with regular commissions of new work as well as old favourites. Prices are very approachable and should be of much wider appeal to a broad potential audience.

About Sadler's Wells

Sadler's Wells is a world-renowned dance organization that has been dedicated to promoting and sharing the art of dance for over 300 years. Founded in 1683, Sadler's Wells has become one of the most respected and influential dance institutions in the world, with a reputation for excellence that is unmatched.

At Sadler's Wells, we believe that dance has the power to inspire and transform people's lives. That's why we're committed to creating and presenting innovative, exciting, and thought-provoking works of dance that push boundaries and challenge expectations.

Our mission is simple: to make and share dance that inspires us all. We believe that everyone should have access to high-quality dance performances, regardless of their background or experience. That's why we offer a diverse range of programming designed to appeal to audiences of all ages and interests.

Whether you're a seasoned ballet aficionado or someone who has never seen a live performance before, there is something for everyone at Sadler's Wells. From classical ballets like Swan Lake and The Nutcracker to contemporary works by some of today's most exciting choreographers, our programming reflects the full spectrum of what modern dance has to offer.

In addition to our performances, we also offer a wide range of educational programs designed to engage young people with the art form. Our Learning & Engagement team works closely with schools across London (and beyond) offering workshops on everything from creative movement classes for toddlers through GCSE Dance support sessions up until professional development opportunities for teachers.

We are proud supporters of emerging talent too - each year we commission new work from artists around the world through our New Wave Associates programme which provides them with space time resources as well as mentoring support so they can develop their ideas into fully-fledged productions ready for public presentation on our stages.

At Sadler’s Wells you will find three theatres under one roof: The main stage seats up-to 1'500 people; Lilian Baylis Studio which offers an intimate setting seating up-to 180 guests; Peacock Theatre located in Holborn which seats up-to 999 guests - this venue hosts many West End shows throughout its season too!
