Excellent food and service. Will definitely be back.
Excellent food and service. Will definitely be back.
Best outdoor dinning experience in spite of torrential rain. Delicious food and great service
The most amazing thing about this place is that they have never ever experienced any issues with menu and their daily specials. The food is absolutely amazing and the chefs are truly special in creating this place.
Love this local spot. Their cacio e pepe never disappoints.
Love this place! The staff was attentive, welcoming, and accommodating. They were kind and were quick to bring out the food. The food was delicious, and the quality and presentation were amazing. I will definitely be returning in the future.
The best Italian restaurant on the West side with a great food and decorum.
Following all COVID precautions, this place is the best outdoor dining setup in the UWS! We were warm and felt safe during our time here. Try their homemade pizza! We got free after dinner drinks -- I recommend this place!
Free bacon at the bar, and the food and service are quite good to.
Likely one of the worst meals in a long time - service was almost as bad. So many better options in the neighborhood.
Great food, love the pasta. Clean place that gets plenty of business.
Location is great, nice outdoor seating with heaters. Blankets available that have been cleaned and sanitized. Food is always soild and you can count in them for the consistency of quality. Support our locals (service is tops)
Very concerned service, excellant food, good ambiance
Great neighborhood spot and great pasta. My rating takes into account for location (not a downtown level of restaurant, but great for the neighborhood). The UWS is a wasteland of restaurants and this one stands out.
Whether you are there for a dinner or a brunch, regardless if your group is solo or 35, thebstaff at Arte Cafe treat you in the best possible manner! And, to make things even better, the food is wonderful! Of course, that's the basic reason why you go to a restaurant in the first place, but still!
I've been to this location (they have another on 7th Avenue and 21st St) several times and have always had a wonderful time! Best time to really go, I think, is for a weekend brunch. The fare is fair, and somewhat predictable, but it will put you in a very comfortable state of mind. The omelettes a large, light, and fluffy; pancakes are just the right size and so delicious!
Also, once done, it's nice to take a walk eastward and enjoy Central Park, only a block away.
Absolutely love this restaurant!! In no particular order...

Not a great experience. Food was delivered wrong. It was a bit overpriced.
I've been here a few times, as well as had delivery from here. The food here is amazing. They also delivered my food within 30 minutes from ordering and added a free cookie. I can't say no to free cookies.
Been here before, was usually a good experience. This time was not a good meal, will not return. Got two prix fixes, the calamari and meatballs appetizers were both very good. The mains were both so poor that after one bite we packed the rest to go to try and salvage at home. The lemon sauce for the chicken piccata was far too bitter. For the mushroom pasta, I initially thought there was something wrong with the wild mushrooms, trying them at home I understood that they were boiled instead of sauteed.
Terrible service food take forever to come out
Even bottle of water took 30 min
The daytime prix fixe menu definitively gives you a lot of bang for your buck. We had pasta, tuna, a soup and a salad and they did not disappoint at all. Service is friendly, accommodating and swift.
Nice local restaurant, great pasta and wonderful lamb shank
My favorite Italian restaurant on the upper west side! Delicious food, many choices, and good service.
Food is blah. Bar is not good. Place is noisy. It's okay if you're in a rush and need a place to go in the neighborhood.
This is part of the Bocca di Bacco mini chain of Italian restaurants and has the exact same menu. I think this chain presents a good quality, reasonably priced Italian option in different parts of Manhattan. You can find some reasonably-priced white wines by the bottle but for some reason they don t offer any reasonably-priced red wines.
Great local restaurant. Love the appetizers... Great service, intimate, can get a bit crowded at times. We ended up seated next to a group of about 15 yikes!! I had the lasagna, wife had ravioli both were very good.
Great value on the early Price Fixe menu. Ample wine selection
Had a wonderful time here With a friend I had not seen in quite a long time I told the waiter and he told us to have as much time together as we wanted the food was great the coffee and dessert was great and so was my time with my friend
Cacio e Pepe was alright. Affordable but nothing to rave about. Wine was great.
Delicious food. Service was lacking but I was there at an off time of day. I will definitely return to eat on the Patio out back!
Extremely disappointed, waited more than an hour for appetizers and food. Extremely disappointed with the service as well, and will NOT recommend for anyone.
Love the food and how the staff makes you feel at home!!
Wait staff is slow with a bit too much nonchalance.
Food is quite good, esp. for the price. On a budget? Order by 6 pm Mon-Thurs from the Early Bird menu!
Delicious food. Good service. Typical Manhattan prices (non business tourist areas). Well laid out and decorated. One of few restaurants where the tables are so close together that you could almost accidentally eat your neighbors food.
We are loved this place. Great food and fast service!
Excellent service. Try to have Vlad as your waiter, you can not do better!!! We needed special attention and he made it happen! Thanks!
Food was good but terribly delayed. Appears that both dining room and kitchen are under staffed. Many restless tables because of inexcusable delays. Waitress covering too many tables. And too little food coming out of kitchen.
Avoid until this is fixed.
Happy hour menu was very good! Satisfies adults and children. Great ambiance. Delicious coctails too!
Great place, good service and awesome food!! I really enjoyed it :)
Terrific, friendly, neighborhood feeling restaurant. Celebrating 97 years and 103 years!!!
Nice food. A but expensive for what it offers but good enough though.
Have had generally very good experiences here. Very good food and drinks. The service can be a little slow at times, but we still like it there.
A classic of the UWS, I've been here many times since I came to the city. Quiet an cozy place, rarely crowdy, you can talk comfortably with friends or clients. The fix price menu is probably one of the best in NY in terms of quality/price. The olive oil and bread are delicious. Check the Rigatoni Siciliana or the Rigatoni Pollo Pazzo.
Great place with great food. It looses a star because some of our requests have been forgotten
Great food and nice ambiance. Outdoor seating areas in front with street view and in private patio in the back. Pasta cooked truly al dente. Good drinks!
wonderful garden like ambiance. you feel like you are in an italian garden far removed from manhattan. the food is quality and nicely presented but lacks creativity, flavor and uniqueness.
This place was nice. We are looking for places for an anniversary party so we had dinner here. I had the lasagna which clearly from the taste comes from an old recipe that should be gaurded with their lives. Lol. It was that good.
My husband got the chicken parmesan. It came with a light red sauce which was perfect. Too many times a restaurant will smoother in sauce, sometimes feeling like it's trying to cover up something. Also the breading was light and the chicken moist and a huge portion.
We recommend this place and there two classic dishes.
Old reliable. Food has variety for everyone but wine list is only basic. Very busy all the time but also good all the time.
Delicious and freshly made food. Its mainly Italian and even the actual Italians at our table were pleased.
The eggs Benedict with crab was excellent and the steak and eggs were pretty standard.
So-so service mars a restaurant that offers some fine Italian cusine, especially in its pasta dishes. Table waits can be an eternity sometimes, and so can waiter service too!
Good Italian restaurant. Classic dishes and pleasant staff. They get the basics right but menu could be elevated a bit. Wine list was limited. I'd like to give it another try because the space is warm and welcoming.
Truly amazing! Braciole di Maiale alla Milanese - Breaded Pork Chop, Tomatoes, Arugula, Avocado, Bufala Mozzarella
The best pork chop I've ever tasted in my 83 years. Pounded thin - a plateful! The batter was perfect - just squeezed a fresh lemon - absolutely astounding - and I am a very fussy eater, but this was far beyond my expectations. BRAVO ARTE CAFE!
The food was delicious and the service was great! Plus it's an affordable place.
Excellent! Great Sunday brunch with unlimited Mimosas and excellent service.
Been just here after years living away from the city. Same great food and service is terrific
Haven t been here for a while and I must say it was great. Octopus, baked clams and the burrata with prosciutto were excellent. Place looks and feels festive.
The prix fixe meal is one of the city's great bargains. Three courses for around $15. I had tasty orechiette with cherry tomatoes, sausage and broccoli rabe for a main course.
I am not one to write Yelp reviews, but I had the absolute worst experience here. Earlier today, my friends and I celebrated a birthday here. It was the worst experience of my life. We arrived promptly at 7:30pm, but our food did not come until 9:15pm. I politely asked for napkins five times. FIVE TIMES. I never got my napkins. When the food finally came, it was subpar at best. We brought our own cake and the waiter offered to cut it for us. Although I understand that it is common for restaurants to charge for cake-cutting, they did not inform us at all and it cost us $50. FIFTY DOLLARS! Our cake was cheaper than that. Additionally, the manager was extremely extremely rude during the entire evening. Restaurants are supposed to be welcoming and hospitable. My friends and I left the restaurant completely frustrated and livid.
And I know that we shouldn't blame waiters because it is not their fault the food is slow, but the service was terrible. I mean come on how hard is it to grab a couple of napkins. They were also very rude and condescending. They gossiped about us in Spanish (little do they know that half of us Asian people are fluent in Spanish).
They do not respect customers in the slightest. Also, if you were wondering whether the food made up for the terrible service, think again. I can make homemade pasta way better, way faster, and way cheaper and I'm a terrible cook.
Trust me, save your money and your time. Don't go here. I mean, unless you literally want an aneurysm from the stress you will be feeling.
Octopus was slimey obviously old the fried potatoes were raw they literally cut them and put it in the container fish tacos fish smelled funny and tasted off well I just didn't bother trying the other food but from the food bites I took Im still in the bathroom so I'm guessing it's a Gordon Ramsey shut down
Great find! Neighborhood restaurant, but they readily gave us a table. Nice service, super food and menu, with desserts to seal the deal! Enjoyed the meal, surprised there was no cream for the coffee or salt and pepper at the table...else a wonderful experience!
Great food, a little loud, but could hold conversation.
The pasta dishes are fair, but just not quite to the expectations created by their prices and advertisement, nor (confusingly) the boisterous atmosphere.
If you like a louder, family-friendly Italian place, I think the pricing and service is family-friendlier at Patsy's up the block. If you're looking for finer dining, you'll certainly find finer elsewhere.
Sat at the bar with some old friends. There was a new bartender in training and she was great, as was the bartender training her. The food was delicious, especially the shrimp!! We'll be back there very soon!
I usually come here when I have family around for brunch. Family friendly place with great brunch items and good all you can drink special. Try their pizzas or burgers a try! Call for reservations as it gets too crowded on Sundays
We were there for our yearly family Mother's day brunch so we decide on Arte Cafe on 73/Amsterdam Avenue location this year. Once checked in, We were seated promptly and within few minutes basket of muffins and water was served. The server came back and took everyone's order and that's when waiting period starts. 45 mins went by and no signs of our orders... We asked our server to check on our orders and was told that "kitchen is very busy"and your food is coming!! . Our reservation was at 1pm and we didn't get our first plate of food until 2:10pm.. I spoke to the mngr and never once he came by and give us any updates from the kitchen.. This is unacceptable and I felt quite embarrassed that I had chosen Arte Cafe vs my 2nd choice of restaurant that was near by..I would love to come back again when Arte cafe kitchen are better prepare for such a big day like Mother's day brunch. Fair price on brunch and servers work really hard here!!
Service mediocre. Food fine but no brunch menu and no bloody Mary's!
The food was great, but with so few patrons in the restaurant, there is no excuse for such mediocre service. Too much staff enjoying each others company rather than attending to the guest. I would love to give them another chance, but with so many other options in the area, not sure that I will. Nor would I recommend it to friends.
