Food was mediocre for the price. Service was awful. Wait staff waited by our table until we ordered. I think he got bored with us, because he only came to the table once more to drop off the check after I flagged him down, someone else brought us our food.

Won't eat there again. Pricey for unimpressive food. Mashed Potato tasted powdered or mixed half/half. Won't eat there again. Picata not bad but not that interesting either. Chicken paillard sufficient but also unimpressive. The bread offered was two measly pieces which looked to be left over from someone else's table. Cold too.

I love this place, decent Italian, fair prices and nice service. I also love finding nice restaurants in our neighborhood that meet the needs of our entire family. Looking forward to returning.

on 8/21/13, my family and I visited what I thought was my favorite restaurant; Arte Cafe. We had a party of 6. The hostess took aprox. 30mins to seat us;waitress took 25mins to take our order; the food arrived in 40mins which is already equivalent to 1hr35mins and we still didn't get lunch plates removed, coffee, or dessert. I summoned over the manager and she just brushed off the situation. That is why I am writing this terrible experience and letting others know that this is not the restaurant everyone thinks it is. SHAME ON YOU ARTE CAFE!

Excellent local neighborhood Italian restaurants, classy bar scene, great Pizza, pastas, fish. Lamb shank too small for the money. Short ribs or steak smarter deal. Service can be spotty. They love asking how your food is by waiting till your mouth is full. I was going to spit out and say great

Amazing service by the great Wilson! The watermelon cocktail was to die for. Will go back soon to have many more. For my taste the food could do with a little more flavor (fresh herbs perhaps?), but that's the only comment I have.

It was love at first visit! The restaurant technically isn't wheelchair-accessible but they do have a very sturdy portable ramp. I was impressed! Far too often the "portable ramp" at restaurants is a scary thin piece of ply wood. Once inside, the restaurant is gorgeous, and spacious. I had no trouble maneuvering my motorized chair at all. The food was amazing! My friend and I both took advantage of the prix-fixe menu and we were not disappointed at all! The mushroom fettuccini and tiramisu were delicious! I recommend this restaurant 100%

I recently attended my Annual Council Luncheon which was held at Arte Cafe, as per the recommendation of a Co-chair. I have only good things to say about this location. It is conveniently located by two subways stations. As I approached the location, it felt welcoming and inviting. We dined in the back patio Al Fresco. The menu had a variety of choices. Price point a little high, but it is well worth it. The staff is charming and with warm, attractive personalities. With the warmer weather upon us, eating at Arte Cafe Al Fresco was a special treat.

A very well located place, just a few minutes from central park and is an ideal place for a rich dinner with wine and everything.
The entry is enough and delicious special seafood linguine main dish the best I could choose but if you have to go hungry, rich dessert but I loved the food and the service that when the food is rich but the service is careful it is the best! !!!

I sure have hadna lot of brunch since moving to the UWS. Arte Cafe is yet another good spot to try. They have a pretty bustling scene for brunch, a large dining room and a nice patio. The brunch menu here was pretty standard, there wasn't anything memorable that stood out. Overall its not a bad spot, I'll be planning to come back when the weather gets nicer.

Still a great value after all these years. My only disappointment with my most recent visit is how they severely restricted the pre-fix menu. Previously, they allowed you to upgrade for a few extra dollars, which I thought was great. Allowed people to keep to a price point of they wanted that above all else and allowed those who wanted a little something more to have that without breaking the bank.

Food is still good.

Latest remodel is a bit cold. They have literally removed (most of) the art from the Arte Cafe.

Really disappointing experience. While the senior staff was nice, the service was bad. Some of the food was very good including the crab cakes (although they came out warm) and the chicken parm. The bad- the Octopus came out cold (on a warm plate), wine service took 35 minutes, the meatballs came out 5min after the 3 other apps dropped. Dinner plates came out before apps were done. On 6 occasions the bussers tries to clear plates that weren t finished. There were other issues. There was a 20% autograt that wasn t disclosed until after we were filling in the tip. Really disappointing especially because we all spent time in the industry.

Me and my buds were on the search for some top notch Lasagna and had Arte Cafe recommended to us by a family friend. EXCELLENT Italian restaurant. One of the best, if not THE best Italian restaurant in the Upper West Side. Keep in mind that it tends to get crowded a night, so plan accordingly.

The food was bland and the service bad this time. I have eaten here 2x before and this was the worst. What is even more frustrating is that the waiters looked genuinely upset that I was asking for things. I know this is a neighborhood favorite, but I don't live in the neighborhood. Time to move on to some new places.

The food I received was terrible! Ice cold pizza terrible taste ravioli. Definitely not something you expect from respectful place who charge so much money. Frozen pizza you heat in the oven better than their food. Try to contact them but received no reply. Shame this is the service you receive when you try to help local restaurants in the pandemic.

There are much better restaurants in NYC who deserve my money.

This was an altogether odd experience. A nice lady recommended Arte Cafe, but we later decided she must have meant their sister wine bar around the corner on Columbus that also does tapas. This spot? Was super slow. Prices were on the higher side and the cuisine was fairly standard Italian fare. Nothing stand out. They did accommodate us at the last minute for a large table reservation, which we appreciated. However, when we told them we needed the bill quickly to make a show, they all but pushed us out of the place. One friend's food disappeared before they'd sat down their silverware and one friend stood up to find her coat, only to find she shouldn't sit back down because they'd taken her seat! Won't be back to this spot.

Went here for brunch with visiting family and had a great time. The brunch drink special comes with a bottle of champagne, rose, mimosa, or sangria and an entree for $29. Have one or two people in your party order the special, then split the drinks -- we enjoyed mixing the champagne and the sangria.

They are not ready for grubhub. It took more than an hour for my food to arrive. Also, please, don t use the excuse that your restaurant is far from the delivery address.. If you re not ready for the grubhub responsibility, just don t go for it.

BUT, if you like waiting and being hungry, that s the right place for you!

Went for brunch, and ended up with a deal that we didn't see on the menu, which included an entree and an entire carafe of bloody Mary. Food was solid, drinks were strong. Service was ok; effective, but not really engaged. Would definitely come back.

Our family has eaten here too many times to count - we ve enjoyed all menus from brunch to dinner to drinks only and even hosted an event in one of their private rooms. I ve never had bad service. The food is always very good. Bar service is generous as well. I always feel they go above and beyond.

I mistakenly left my cap under my chair at the premises on Sunday night 17/03/19 after paying the bill. I returned within minutes after realizing my error only to discover the cap was removed from where I left it? No other guests had come in and the table was re set. I asked the manager how could this happen and he just said sorry .
He has a thief among his staff and he did nothing about it. This cap belonged to my dear deceased Dad and was of great sentimental value to me and I hope whoever took it will see the error of their way and return it please
After several mails to the manager the staff member did not return the cap? She was bitter because she was not tipped, the lad who waited the table was tipped but left before desert was served because of change of shift. I can still see the venom on her face...hope she is happy!

Love this neighborhood gem... great vibe, nice decor, terrific service and wonderful menu! Whether you want to dine at the bar (w/3 tv's), sit at a high-table nearby, or enjoy restaurant seating, you'll be well looked-after. From the bread and extra virgin olive oil you know you're in a great spot. The servers are all attentive and friendly, while nice music plays in the background. And the menu selections and wine list offer a wide range of selections. Though we arrived near 9pm when the restaurant was packed, we weren't rushed at all even when the restaurant had emptied out. Jennifer took terrific care of us and made us feel completely welcomed. We loved our Super Tuscan wine, side order of meatballs, lasagna and cacio e pepe. Will be back for sure!

Went to brunch here for the first and last time this morning. The service was extremely slow, our food was cold, and my order wasn t cooked correctly. We were going to let it slide until a host came to our table immediately after we had just gotten the check back to very rudely inform us we needed to leave, people were waiting for our table. Three people in our party still had drinks in front of them while we had just signed the check. When confronted as we were leaving, the host played dumb, saying very unconvincing sorry several times, then said his server had told him we were there a long time. The same server who was absent and slow the entire time.

Never going back here again. Terrible service, rude workers, and inadequate food. Not worth your time or money.

I have been there several times, for both brunch and dinner, and I'm never disappointed. They have great prices, and amazing meals. My favorites are the Fungi Pizza or any of the pasta dishes, especially the gnocchi! A great spot to visit with friends or family! A hidden gem on the Upper West Side, just walking distance from Central Park!
