Worst experience I ve ever had in a hospital, and I ve been in hospitals in countries not as established as Sweden. I went with a friend for RESPIRATORY DISTRESS, so you d assume it was pretty urgent, not being able to breathe, right? Tell that to the lazy doctor who, 4 HOURS LATER, still hasn t shown up to give us any result as to why she can t breathe with ease. Lazy staff, horrible organization, they treat the people who wait like trash. We could ve done all the tests ourselves and saved ourselves the wait... avoid at all costs, go to a different hospital hours away if you must, it will be time better spent than here (in other reviews people said they had to wait over 8 hours)... if I could, I d rate this 0 stars.

Wonderful treat at Gynakuten evening 4/3-19. Thank you for making me a very scary experience more manageable.
Calming and safe nurses and doctors who really listened and talked as you understood. Very professional help and without direct waiting times. Thanks.

The nicest reception I received at an emergency room. Clear information and very friendly staff, harmonious atmosphere, full of patients and so kindly treated. Great to you who worked there Friday 5 / 4-19 daytime.

It was calm in the emergency room just after lunch...

It was calm in the emergency room just after lunch on 24 Sept -20 when I came in with poor balance, tunnel vision, headache, some facial paralysis, difficult to talk. It was an effort to walk.

The next day, feeling worse, is confused. Is promised a place in the ward by a doctor, when the doctor has left, a nurse comes and happily says that we find no fault in you, you can go to the health center. Barely able but opposes me this decision and refers to the doctor.
Once up at the ward, I am told that when you have a stroke you should exercise, so I get a drip stand as support when I need to go to the toilet, not a walker that I asked for.

In the ward we are four patients, one of them has sleep apnea and keeps us all awake at night. I get sleeping pills, but still wake up, ring the bell, maybe once too much. Gets carried out abruptly to the day room, the lamp goes out and the door closes. Bag and mobile remain open in the hall, are now without alarm or drip stand.
The fifth doctor I see sends for lumbar puncture sampling. Five days later I come home with viral meningitis. The same test could have been taken in the emergency room, saving time, suffering and resources.

I do not have good experience of this hospital and its emergency care. I had some diffuse symptoms and did not feel well. I waited 24 hours for the emergency and did not manage to meet a doctor who looked at me or even listened to me.
I understand that I was not prio 1 with my diffuse symptoms and there are other worse sick than me.
A nurse told me I would seek a doctor at my health center or take me to Rosenlund's near kut instead. I felt they did not want me there.
I could not survive after this long wait. 24 hours is quite a lot to wait!
I went home. My symptoms did not get any better.
A week later, I searched another hospital with the same symptom description, and it was found that I had several props in the lung. I just had to wait 2 hours at the other hospital!

I have previously met staff at this hospital, for which I did not feel confident, during an operation, my lung dropped together and this was not discovered! and when I was going to put a drain on the same lung, I became the guinea pig for a new doctor. Custom!

My view is that the staff are stressed, they feel like I disturbed them with my presence. I think they are snobbish in their attitude.

Summary for my visit:

Summary for my visit:
+ Satisfied with the end results.
+ No rude staff (saw 5 different nurses and 3 different doctors over the time span of 2 days. I'm guessing others are either looking for a lightning rod or were rude themselves. We're all flawed humans.)
+ Not the worst seats, even after a very long wait.
- Poor communication (4-5h with no update was not uncommon).
- After ~8h a nurse told me that all this time they had forgotten to make me take a urine sample.

Looking at the other comments I can also complain about the fact that Vardcentral never should have send me to the emergency room, and I can complain about the fact that I had to wait 10h to finally see a doctor, but these things generally are not the hospital's fault. They work with what they've got. Either other people were there before you, people in serious life/death situations are prioritized, or the staff is disorganized. At this place it felt like it was 95% the first two.

An occasional update would certainly help. The doctors may be extremely busy, but the nurses seem to have the occasional down time. As others said as well, it was very common to see casual conversation between nurses. Mental breaks are important, certainly in a place like that, but it only takes 30s to walk to the waiting room to just ask if everyone is doing alright and to give a short update. People are far more understanding this way. I feel like I'm a very understanding person and I still felt like I was forgotten after 5.5h of no update.

I do have one complaint. After ~6h when I finally got a room, and after I still waited 2h in that room, a completely new nurse walked in to inform me that all this time they had forgotten to make me take a urine sample. I was tired and would never say anything about it, but I think the evil stare of frustration was visible on my face. At that point it did made me question the competence of the organisation and not just the lack of resources of it.

The worst receipt I've had in the care. Had severe bleeding and abdominal pain, the gynecologist called for advice when I strongly suspected a miscarriage. The nurse I talked to was totally oumbatic, and did not understand why I called them? "Have you had a miscarriage, there's not much we can do," she says, referring to my MVC for advice. (After MVC referred to Gynakuten)

With the cry in my throat, I try to gather, and then call the Gynakuten on Danderyd instead. Did the appointment book a doctor's meeting the same day and via ultrasound we can see that everything is good with the child.

Summary: Stay away from SOS, and go to Danderyd instead, if you are a pregnant woman.

The premises are far from the best and perhaps there is a shortage of staff. But damn what they fought and tried even though the patients are angry and sad. The staff made this visit good, and you really saw that they did everything they can.

Had to wait in the emergency hall for 20 hours after my mother shattered her shoulder. From 10:00 to 7:00 there was no doctors. My mom broke her shoulder at 9:00 pm and when we got to the emergency room there was a doctor slouching on my mom's bed causing lots of pain. The staff was very mean. My mother also hit her head very hard and none of the nurses checked for concussions.
I stood in between the bed my mom was in and the people running by through the halls because people kept running into my mom and caused lots of pain. The worst was when someone was running with an unstable patient and one of the people actually picked my up and threw me into my mama's bed which made her scream. There was plenty of room. After 20 hours awake in the emergency room they finally gave us a room in the orthopedic department. The doctor that did my mom's surgery and most of the nurses in that department were really nice and the rest of the time was ok in the room but my mom was still in lots of pain. She needed 12 screws in her shoulder and will always have them. Many people say that a shattered shoulder is the most painful thing you can go through. One nurse was really mean to my mom because we were from America.

Has always been well cared for and received good care. Never had to wait half a day either. My experience is that if you use the care resources properly, it will be relatively smooth. Of course, sometimes you have to expect some waiting time. However, you probably won't have to wait that day when it's really in a hurry.

Had a terrible experience, once again. The doctors are careless, passive, appatic and have no sympathy towards the patient. Not to mention their lack of knowledge. I would suggest to everyone who is in need to visit there, please listen to your instincts, and don't give up. Insist to get the treatment. Especially when it comes to your children, as it was for me.

I'm personally planning to file a complaint.

Really nasty staff. I was there today in the emergency room I had an incredible amount of abdominal pain, but the nurse as a way to the reception did not want to let me in as I would have to wait for more than 6 hours, and only wanted to send me home when I felt dying! She thought it was nothing dangerous even though she did not even take my temperature or blood pressure !! Do not go here very ignorant and unpleasant staff who do not care about you a bit. I was not even allowed to stay there until near the emergency room opens after two hours, I was afraid to wait alone at home. They told me to wait at home. Sick!!!!

Come up to the emergency on referral from VC. Enrolled wait 1 hour.Dr examined, contacted surgeon .Performed to ward 67 everything took 3 hours. their knowledge as well as their response + their new op-division.
The staff at department 67 should have a big ROS for their treatment. I am really pleased with the help I got.

Awesome. Not because I've been here, but recently visited and have been struck by how nice the staff was and didn't show the jab described in the media. It's bad for folk, of course. And they gratefully received the help they gave to their loved ones. Generous visit times and very clear rules for visitors about hand hygiene etc.

Met by the doctor Maritha Kumlin who was very unpleasant. I have a crush on my hand. The doctor did not look at the matter and did not know what she would do even though she was a surgeon. Then she shouted at another specialist. When he arrived, he also did not know what he would do, then he started without an anesthetic to pull away my hematoma because he wanted to "see what was there". It was terribly painful, he did not care and said, "It can not hurt you!". My finger bleed and made incredible pain and then he would "look what was under" my second hematoma underneath a nail. He then began to remove my nail without any anesthetic and I was so sad that I said that the procedure may only continue if I get anesthetic. Then the doctors said they recorded in my journal that "I do not want help". It hurts more in my hand than before the visit and I did not get any wise explanation why they would do all of this. There seemed to be a huge lack of skills at these doctors! Absolutely unacceptable!
I do not understand how the staff working in a hospital where people suffer and are in pain can be so unpleasant, ignorant and oematic!

Casual staff in the gynecologist who stood and had coffee and had coffee ropes (laughed and had fun in the coffee room loudly) between 06-08.30 and ignored patients who came in. No one asked how I felt or gave me pain relief even though I was lying and writhing in pain and bleeding through my pants and of course a lot of worry. Just got nasty derogatory answers when I looked them up in the coffee room for help. Terribly poor patient vision and the staff do not seem to understand that they work in an emergency room. Once inside the doctor, I received a nice treatment.

Stay far away if possible. Ten hour wait at emergency, and still no sign of a doctor. No information, no check-ups from staff. I understand that it is busy and that there are more urgent cases, but when nurses are discussing their music taste across the corridor, you would think they could take some time to check on patients as well. The Swedish health care system is not functioning well, and this hospital is one of the clearest symptoms of that.

Stay away from the emergency akut they don't have enough doctors been here since 6pm till 2:50am and haven't gotten my blood results. No one in-between can tell you to go home or check up on you. Only nurses in the whole emergency. What I saw was lack of attention and no answers to patients who need help when they press the button. Understaffed and it's so obvious. Very bad I would not go again. I had heard bad things from a friend who almost died from an epileptic attack now I know what she means.
Big hospital clean but understaffed all looks no game!

My wife got a major brain haemorrhage at night against the castles. We went ambulance into the voyage. The reception in the emergency room was very professional; late to the dept 81 - stroke department - where the staff has been absolutely wonderful, at all positions, day, evening, night, kitchen etc.: friendly, empathic, professional, caring etc.We have now come home after 2 weeks and i can only be humble grateful for the treatment / care my wife (i) got.world class!

Long wait as all Swedish healthcare. The staff and knowledgeable, but much time was lost because there seemed to be no plans for all patients to be managed. Clearly a miss at the organizational level. I hesitated a long time before I gave the grade 4, but the staff's knowledge and willingness to do something about a difficult situation makes the grade high. But how management cannot ensure that there are better routines is a mystery. I see it as a political and management problems and they choose to ignore it 'rating

Gave birth here and we were treated very well. The midwifes were extremely helpful and compassionate and they were supporting us throughout the birth.

After giving birth they gave us breakfast and even found gluten free bread for us. They handled us pretty fast when we came in the middle of the night and we had 2-3 midwifes helping me and my wife. They really cared about me during the birth and always made sure I'm ok.

Was picked up by ambulance at suspected myocardial infarction which, fortunately, it turned out that it was only pneumonia. Was in the emergency 8 hours. The staff were absolutely wonderful, what patience with everyone who ran back and forth and asked when it was their turn, all outlaws, oblivious shells, and psychiatric patients who complained about the care all the time. A great deal to you

the emergency room at sea is a disgusting place in every way. overworked and uninterested staff (apart from a male doctor and a wonderful assistant nurse whose name I do not remember, therefore 2 stars), especially the nurses, who have everything else to do but work. that ssk REFUSES to clean the wounds because "she has no tweezers !!!!" is completely unacceptable!!!!!!!!! no working hygiene routines, no gloves when changing wounds, no hand alcohol, the actual visit there is dangerous, especially for the most vulnerable patients - and it is usually those who end up there! JOKE, I hope I never ever have to end up there - and maybe that's what the staff dreams of? to have no patients and to be able to gossip in peace!
