More than one family member of mine has done work for Yuil and payment for their services was either:
1) Very hard to come by
2) Much less than previously discussed
3) Non existent

In addition, on more than one occasion friends of mine were promised a budgeted price for furniture built by Yuil's company that when they went to pay for turned out to be much more than previously agreed upon.

However genuinely nice his end product is, the contractor and customer experience working with this company is severely lacking.

Outstanding craftsmanship. Yuill & team approached the design of my kitchen with a degree of empathy and rigor that not many other builders would have. They are interested in creating spaces that look great but just as importantly WORK great. The result is a room whose many smart features I can (and do) show off to guests with pride.

I have met with Yuill McGregor (the owner of the company) at his house to get hired as an helper for the company.

I am doing an app designed to help the construction industry (SHLTR .ca).

I talked about it with how it helps the whole construction industry get more productive, and the workers find jobs when they need.

He was interested, until he understood people would be free to work for who they want. He was afraid to lose his employees, as if he owns them.
Modern slavery.
He got angry at me, and threw me out of his place, without paying me for the 2 hours I've spent working on his frontward.

We love the table created by North on sixty. It is like a piece of art in our room where people gather round to socialize and admire the craftsmanship. We especially love the corks and beans so sutally placed in all the hollowed areas. Give great depth and character to our name. Cork & Bean...coffee and wine bar.

All the pieces we have purchased for our home and office from North on Sixty have been show stopping and always a source of conversation. Yuill and his team's dedication to combining sustainability, functionality and art is inspiring.

Horrible customer service. I called looking for a piece of Douglas Fir and told the gentleman what I was looking for and his responce was nope we are done good bye and hung up on me. Doesn t sound like someone that wants to run a business. I d never recommend someone like that to anyone.

Yuill walked us through an extensive (floor, ceiling, walls, stairs, fireplace, painting, etc) first floor home reno this past summer. It has been one of the easiest 'big jobs' we have done on our 1885 downtown Victorian house since we moved in 25 years ago. Old homes always carry surprises, but Yuill and his team were prepared and did a professional job throughout. Minor follow ups on some details with a tricky wood-slate floor combo.

Great plaster and painting work. Gutted in one day. Fantastic restored ceiling moldings. Even took most of the squeaks out of our 130-year old stairs! Job was cleaned up and left neat every day, so much so that we could stay in the house throughout. Tricky downtown location made it necessary to remove debris weekly, and Yuill always made his happen without asking.

Only North on Sixty could have provided such great new custom milled white oak floors needed in this old house. Pricey but good. Basic contractor timeline, but it helped that we knew what we wanted. Yuill was always responsive to our questions and willing to work with us to achieve the final vision, a professional first floor Victorian restoration.

We would definitely hire North on Sixty again.

We have used Yuill and the North on Sixty team for all of the renovations on our house. I am surprised at the other reviews: we find his work, especially with wood, to be of the highest calibre. I will be blunt...it is not the least expensive option. But his floors, furniture, light fixtures, bookshelves and so on draw awe-struck gasps from our visitors.

How good is the work? Friends visiting from Denmark for dinner took photos of the various North On Sixty designed items to show their Danish design friends.

This was our second renovation with North on Sixty and again they exceeded our expectations. The workmanship and a VERY attentive team made this renovation a breeze. I would go for a third one but should probably wait a little...

The selection of Kebony vs IPE was an easy one, with its rich look and easy workability for a DIY front porch project. Yuill and the team at North on Sixty made it really fun, delivered the wood and gave us some helpful tips and tricks. Overall the project took about 40hrs and was easily done over a few casual summer weekends. We love the look and final results highly recommend Kebony and the North on Sixty team support.

Bought a gorgeous piece of maple that was made into a river table, they did the epoxy work and it turned out more beautiful than I could have expected. The table is a show stopper in my dining room and I know I have a piece for life!

Really beautiful renovations! Very quick to respond.

We wanted a cottage in our back yard; North on Sixty gave us that and more now we have an oasis!

While others have to endure the 400 to get to their cottages, we simply stroll outside. And we can enjoy it during the week as well.

While we had the overall idea, it was Yuill who brought it to life, combining creative solutions with high quality and attention to detail. The end result is simply stunning.

Bad customer service, no response to our questions, higher cost than expected.
The philosophy of the company of reusing wastes is great, but the management is horrible.
