Great Location, The university is located in the heart of downtown Toronto.
Almost 3 weeks now, I have been trying to contact someone in bridging program by e.mail, phone and in person with no benifit. The only one tried to help, gave me an appointment with the wrong person after I took some hours off from my work and payed the university expensive parking to park my car.
This is a great university to study and be who you want to be. There are lots of great restaurants and entertainment nearby. If you want to shop, the Eaton Centre is nearby in Dundas Square.
Horrible online UI (for courses and in general) and horrible consistency of information between website pages. Once they have your money, the administration doesn't care about helping you. My only (but big problem) is with their administration; their professors are actually pretty good and do care.
This school sucks so much that i had to transfer out right away asap. This school needs help. The education there is ****
On the positive side, I met my best friend and some of my classes were really interesting (Homelessness in Canada with Pasquel was best) but on the negative side it's really hard to switch programs and not all of the courses listed on the website are actually offered.
One of the top university in Canada. Has a lot more to do with teaching.
This university is not cracked up to be. Not a good place to earn an education!
Amazing Geographic Analysis & Environment and Urban Sustainability programs.
There are two types of people in this world: rulers and servants. Ryerson is a school for servants.
Truly a great place to learn. Lots of resources available to you, helpful professors who truly enjoy teaching. And best of all, so many courses/programs to choose from!
The campus is ok. I do believe that the program people (instructors and program coordinators) could be nicer to the student at times.
An institution that is built to take advantage of immigrants and young people that are idealistic and don't know any better. Gained absolutely nothing by going to Rye High, and I would argue that the high school system is better because you don't pay 100's of dollars for a useless document, and the instructors care just 0.015% more about you as an individual and their student's success.
There is little to no communication initiated to allow a teacher-student relationship - the typical excuse of "I'm too busy and other B.S" is given., In fact ,they seem to get AGITATED when you ask them questions because you actually want to learn!!! They all know the game they're playing to abuse the trust given to them by their paying customers. It's truly disgraceful that these people call themselves educators but don't attempt AT ALL to prepare their students for success in the future. We, "the people" need to redefine what it means to be an educational institution by putting the SUCCESS of our students over maintaining each instructor's 200k + salary.
I do not want to mention names but I will say the Ryerson school of Health Services Management should be ashamed of the unengaging programs they run that are full of contempt towards students. They operate based on fear and intimidation by propagating that students should already "know" the content of their courses so that they don't need to actually teach their students anything. There is no continuity or connectivity between any of their courses, and how students can use their education to build successful careers.
Ryerson is truly a great institution, with amazing staff and students. I am proud to call myself a Ryerson Student!
The professors are amazing, always willing to help you out
This school is really great. It was the school my brother went to. He described a lot of great things about the school and I am slowly finding these things out myself.
Excellent university with plenty of student support services.
Better than U of T with more supportive professors and lecturers. Great programs connected with George Brown for transferring and use of facilities.
Great accessible campus! SHE building is the home of Ryerson's School of Disability Studies (5th floor).
I was a Student intern at The Scope a summer and a half ago to do my field placement for my program, and I have to say that the internship program at Ryerson is AMAZING!!!!
They let you do all kinds of things like creating commercials, PSA s or Promo s for the station which is something I ve had experience with in my program so it was nice that I got to do that.
Also, I really enjoyed recording an episode for Ryerson s Disability Podcast show called The Access Files , it was a lot of fun.
And last but certainly not least, I love how the people there make you feel like you belong. Everyone at the radio station is so nice and kind and I would definitely recommend anyone who has to do their field placement to do it with Ryerson as you do learn a lot and you get hands on experience too.
All my classmates and I got very good paying jobs and made successful careers with our degree. It isn't the best Uni in Canada, but it gets you places and is a good bridge in between MBA or Masters.
Great place to learn. The new student centre is state of the art. Right in the heart of downtown you have access to virtually anything you need
Computer Science Dept.,! Its Good!! and The Professors!
Ryerson has definitely been growing and expanding along with its students. In the past few years I have seen two buildings get started and are now being used for student space. It is also super convenient being smack in the centre of downtown, where everything is within a minutes walk. It's a great school and provides students with many experiences.
1996 engineering grad from Ryerson, and got a relevant, good paying job shortly after and still do today. Great school.
As a continuing education student Ryerson University was one of best schools
A great University to invest your time and effort for promising future. Excellent professors and incredible staffs. An outstandingly vibrant campus-center of everything in Toronto. Easily accessible through public transport like subway, bus, taxi, street cars. Versatile food and restaurant tastes are all around the campus.
Don't except to be taught anything. If you really want to, however, you can learn.
Do NOT come to Ryerson if you are a part-time student working full time. You will NOT get to choose the lectures you need and best professors. You are at the bottom of the food chain and get leftover or nothing.
Do NOT come to Ryerson if you are a full time student. Go to U of T, York U, or colleges. They are all better options than Ryerson. (in terms of quality of education and student life)
Come to Ryerson if you have a rich dad and finding a job is not your concern; or you have plenty of time to do few more years of college to get a job; or if you want to broaden your life experience and get to know how bad an university can be - then Ryerson will be the one.
Professors are very effective and actually care about your education. You aren't just a number at this school like many other universities. Many clubs and activities on campus related to my program too.
some good profs, but also some really bad profs who dont deserve to be teaching at an university because they do not respect the students nor do they seem to be enjoying teaching. But most importantly, dear ryerson, why! Why WOULD YOU PUT RAMMS ON MAINTENANCE AT 12AM. WHY DON'T YOU SET IT TO 4AM OR STH?! WHY?!
As a geography student in Ryerson University I have had the opportunity to learn a lot about the world. My colleagues are extremely friendly and there are many school events for someone to get involved. Ryerson and my own program care about their students and their experience at university.
Business Technology Management bridges the often large gap between Business and Information Technology. Ryerson University is the first University in Canada to offer this program, and it is conveniently located right in the downtown core of Toronto with access to the Eaton Centre and possible Co-op opportunities on Bay St etc. What you learn from this program is invaluable and perfect for anyone pursuing Business or IT.
Best university to make our future bright and shine
Love Ryerson and most of the professors and I hate Toronto. So the fact that I actually come to class (i'm a commuter) says a lot about the school.
