This is one of the famous attractions Bangalore had to offer from many years now. The Shiv Temple used to have a free entry before but now visitors are charged a minimum of Rs. 150 which includes a coin dropping while chanting 108 Om Nama Shivaya, tying sacred thread near the large Ganesh, entering the Jothir Lingas (including touching the ice cold Amarnath, doing milk abisheka for Shiva Linga, viewing famous Lingas around India, throwing coins in fortune pond, lighting diya and leaving afloat on the fortune pond, doing yanya(100 bucks extra), lighting up incense stick in front of the pond and navagraha pooja.
A professional photography souvenir is also available (extra payment). Some might find this really spiritual but a local Shiva Temple will have more spiritual vibrations than the Kempfort. The reason why i feel this is because the place is mostly commercialized. People visiting this place for the first time will surely have a Awww inspiring experience but old residents will not feel the same.
A polite evening can be spent here without much things to bother but when you look up at the might Shiva idol, it is surely a nice feeling ignoring the clothes drying in the balconies in the backdrop. :)
