Good food, a bit pricey, low key atmosphere, better for couples or small parties. Quiet enough for conversation but not too much so to feel awkward if you are a larger party. Attentive staff who were happy to help us get comfortable with the kids as they started falling asleep at dinner. Thank you for a great dinner!

Good food, indifferent service.

The Blueberry pancakes were very nice, as was the smoked salmon and bagel. The rest was OK.

We went in about 11 AM, and they switch from the Breakfast Menu to the Lunch menu at 11:30. The waitress informs us at 11:25 that it's too late to order from the breakfast menu, but the same items available from the Lunch menu (almost, but not quite).

Served us coffee that was lukewarm, didn't show up for a while, and did not ever ask what else we might want. Another waiter took over from her, and was slightly better. No one showed up to ask if we wanted more coffee, etc. He did ask us if we wanted dessert at the end.

Helpful people here. When my phone wasn't working I stopped in here and they gave me directions on how to take train to where I needed to go. Fun and festive place I would come back to eat here.

Proper New York restaurant. Loads of atmosphere , waiters with long aprons. You feel you're on a movie set for The Sopranos, except you're eating great food and drinking marvelous wine.
I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Food is above average, but not too special. Had the burger and the wedge salad. Fries are exceptional. Service is subpar, though the atmosphere (especially downstairs) makes this place worth a visit.

Went with a party of 8 and was not impressed with the service or food. They tried to sit all 8 of us at a table that would ordinarily seat 4 - 5 and only offered a better table after complaining. The food was average. I had a turkey sandwich and it was VERY dry and not very tasty. The other food at the table did not look above average either.

The service was adequate but not friendly in any way. They seemed like they were trying to rush us through so that they could get more people in.

Just went today, the server did not come by our table for a long time after getting appetizers. He barely came by despite being there for 2 hours. We had to repeatedly ask for the bill. When giving the money (15% tip which I thought was fair for someone who did not even serve well), he gave the money the back and demanded we give more tip because I only work 5 tables at a time . He also said he deserves more than 10% but we had given 15. As a previous server I understand that you rely on your tips to make a living but it is not a given that you automatically get 18%+ tip. He pestered and embarrassed us into giving more, as other customers around us heard this. I am disappointed in this restaurant and will be sure to never come back. Also will tell others the same.

Trust me if I could give this 0 stars I would.. me and my family came in for a drink after cycling around Central Park. We were greeted by stares from staff and weren t once spoken to when waiting at the bar to order drinks for 5 minutes. We sat outside as the weather was great and we were quite hot from the cycle ride. A lady who worked there paced back and forth until finally telling us we couldn t sit there, as it was eating only, bearing in mind it was quite empty inside. She didn t offer to move us to another table or allow us to move two chairs to another table by the window, the staff were blunt and rude and was happy to see us stand with our drinks. Disappointed as this is our first visit to the city and we won t be returning to this place again.

My boyfriend and I were visiting from out of town and wanted to have a nice dinner for our last night (and first time ever) in Manhattan. We chose to sit on the patio because it was a beautiful evening however, about 10 minutes into sitting, a homeless man made his way to all of the tables and threatened my boyfriend after we didn't give him anything. We asked the busser to move inside and he responded "no you're fine, he's gone now." I went inside and told the hostess that we needed to move inside. Our request was met but, we were shoved into a corner between two other tables with not way to get out once we sat down and the table was pushed in for us. The rest of the restaurant was empty for the most part. My boyfriend asked to speak to a manager, and who he was referred to happened to be the GM. She told him "honey, I'm not a bouncer. There's nothing I can do for you." The only saving grace was our waitress who, if not for her and the fact that we had ordered previously to being disturbed, we would have walked out. We ended up paying $140+ for one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had in my life. Thanks for comping the drinks though, Stacey....

I try and go here everytime I am in NYC. Service is always stellar. Steaks are great. Prices are a bit high for what you get but so is their rent I am sure. I dont get the sushi. Go to Hatsuhana for that.

If you're in the mood for french mood in the columbus circle area, check out this restaurant. It may not be 100% authentic french food (it's never that good anyway) but you get a taste of France. I went to this restaurant before visiting Paris and had a great meal, unlike my food experience in Paris. Skip dessert and ask for coffe, they have amazing single drip espresso coffee.

Server was good. Food was good. No air conditioning in the place all the guests were fanning themselves. Had to ask for bread and I saw back waiter bringing it to other tables with out asking. No A/C was a deal breaker.

Classic French cafe with sublime breakfast. Large cups of coffee, light and airy croissants, properly cooked eggs Benedict all in an old school setting of brass, mahogany, tile and mirrors. Good service and seems that many locals and regulars have breakfast here.

Excellent food and ambiance! The food was amazing, don't be afraid of the Sushi, it was a bit crowded but we still had an excellent time! I would definitely recommend Rue 57 to anyone looking to be a bit adventurous with their food.
