A little pricey but understandable considering location. Quick and solid food.

My favorite restaurant experience in NYC was Rue 57 NYC at 50 West 57th Street
We spent a week in NYC the first of July and enjoyed a number of great meals, but this was my favorite for several reasons:
1. They had a Prix-Fix Menue with several great choices and included a 1/2 price glass of wine
2. The food was excellent and a great value for NYC
3. The street-side seating was great and made for an excellent opportunity to people watch and converse without the noise of inside seating.
4. Our waitstaff Robinson was excellent and we conversed on a number of topics
5. Price was very reasonable for the quality of food.
Only problem was that my wife who is allergic to sugar couldn t eat any of their dessert choices and no berries or fruit were available to substitute .. so I had to eat two!
Price prior to tip was less than $75 for the two of us.
Always good, but brunch is easy on the wallet, too!
Food was very good very expensive everything Alucard
Certainly a place worth trying, the food is awesome and fresh, the prices are affordable and it is consistently well organized in here. Great work.
A nice place to eat. I've had plenty of business lunches here. Moderately priced, but with high price feel.
Great and fresh sushi, good meat and other dishes. Prices are average for the area. Inside is always crowded, it is worth booking a table. One of the favorite places in the area is definitely worth a visit.
I have normally only been here for brunch which is quite good but, a few coworkers and I went in with a customer for a drink and were pleasantly surprised. There was a decent dinner crowd and the bar was good too. We had some great old fashions and the service was friendly and responsive. We will be back.
This is what every restauarnt should strive to be. Discovered this place 3 years ago and made a point of coming back while I was in NYC with my family. The service is outstanding. They really make you feel special and are great with kids. The food is simply amazing and the portions are large without being gaudy. Great area of Manhattan and definitely a must go to place any time you're in NYC.
The first impression was a great one..... great food and friendly staff!
Have eaten here several times. The menu is so varied from sushi to burgers. Something for everyone. Prices are reasonable for the area, service depends on time of day, lunch time is very very busy but still good service.
Excellent service and entrees to bring you back. Best cheesecake ever!
Great tuna tartare..the omelets are also excellent. Great experience
My family came and got a table told them it was gonna be six people that my self and my girlfriend were on the way. the waiter said if they are not here we cannot give you two seats. Then I show up and explained to them that my family is here. the tabel next to them said that we can sit down when they leave. the staff said no you can t and you have to wait twenty minutes or more, if you want to sit with your family. that s ridiculous how do reservations Even work then? if your party is not there at the moment you just tell them Too bad go walk at the end of the line ?! We waited until the table next to
Our family who had originally offered to let us sit was over and the staff gave the table away and made us wait end of the day we had to leave.
Declious brunch menu! Excellent service. would return again. Good value as well.
Food is so good here, I actually went for breakfast and dinner. Very classy place. The staff are the best, the decor is a walk from the past and present. Comfortable. I wish I could go there again but vacations end. I will return. Brunch next time. The food sigh perfect. Yummy.
Beautiful atmosphere. Great food but bit overly priced
Food is good, little pricy but vents and ceiling need to be a little bit more cleen
The atmosphere is lovely a lot of artsy people in the restaurant it s a good ambience. The atmosphere is lovely a lot of artsy people .Food was good I ve had better French this is more of a drink spot - martini was very strong which is a good thing!
Great service and food. Wine selection is not bad!
Went for a quick bite before seeing a site. Food was great! We had a few apps and dessert
Good food, price not exaggerated but waiting time ..
So I walked in with my family and there was a long line so I walked up to grab a menu so we could look at the menu and the maiitre d snatched it back from my hand and said that he needed them. There was a stack of dozens of them and he embarrassed me like and scolded me like a child in front of all of the guests standing in line waiting to be seated. Then when we finally seated they gave us a table that was made for four but one seat was shoved in a corner and we had to move the table ourselves as no one could clearly see that wasn t going to work for us. We were all so upset with how we were being treated that we got up and left. The waiting staff clearly doesn t care at all. I will never eat there nor recommend it to anyone else. Unfortunately there food sounded good, but who treats people that way?!?
My perfect place.. nice buzz but not so much we could not have great conversation. Excellent food...and top shelf service.
Food excellent and good portions. Service excellent. Topped with a The Seven Five Cigar.. Amazing.
Always great for lunch and dinner but just learned of breakfast. Amazing and fair price for the food and service.
There was a FINGERNAIL in the soda we ordered. The manager came to the table after we told our waiter and he said it's not a fingernail, it's a lemon seed... It was CLEARLY a fingernail and it was absolutely disgusting. He couldn't even come up with a lie that was more convincing.
Their steak tartare was one of the worst I've had. The menu said it comes with traditional toppings but it definitely did not come with all the normal spices as it was nearly tasteless, had raisins, and had a fishy taste to it. Do not order this dish.
I was also turned off by the diluted Softsoap in the bathroom. They couldn't even hide it behind a decent soap dispenser. Classy.
They clearly do not care about the quality. I would never recommend anyone coming here.
Absolutely the most ignored best burger in NY. It is amazing you haven't put it in the top 10.
Compared to many NYC restaurants, the price was very reasonable, the food was delicious and the service was very fast. It was lovely to sit outside in the shade and enjoy a great meal.
Touristy but good, this place has a great brasserie ambience, good food, and great wine list. Beet salad is excellent, and the open sidewalk tables are great for people watching near Central Park. A bit pricey, but you're in midtown so that's to be expected. Nice place with good food and very good service, I would recommend.
Had a great brunch supported by an outstanding and friendly waiter. A great experience!
Delicious food! Nice staff and nice guests! A bit tight, but just NY.
This is where old school business deals go down. Great and convenient place to take clients for lunch. Typical American classic, I got the chopped chicken salad with boiled eggs and avocado. Delicious. It is a tad pricey so I wouldn't make a habit of eating here regularly unless you're balling. For two people, expect to spend $65 WITHOUT alcohol. Not sure how that happens but it does.
Had such a good night. the waiter is very professional and top service . Wish they had one in my town. But any time in travel to NYC I will be here.
I had an awesome time at Rue 57 although I didnt like where I sat, our awsome waiter definitely compensated for the bad seating, he was witty and a true delight, Rue 57 is a french bistro with a asian flare they have traditional french eats and sushi, I would definitely comback to have the special which was the lamb,I would recommend the white bean soup it ws delicious.
Food is alright. The atmosphere is nice. Service is better than most but I am just not a fan of the food. Pretty average!!
Atmosphere was amazing. Service was great. Sliders were buttery. The chicken noodle soup was good. Not my favorite but that's more a personal thing and not something on their end. Really enjoyed it.
Delicious brunch experience! I dec to try this place during my first day in the city and was not disappointed. It was not filled with a bunch of tourists, so it was a peaceful dining experience considering all of the midtown foot traffic in the area. Our waitress was very attentive and brought our food out promptly. I will definitely be back!
The food was just average and overpriced for the quality. The service was very quick and friendly, though.
Really lovely atmosphere. Has a local feel which is rare for the area :)
Cockroaches in the room. Bad service. Restaurant for tourists of very low quality. I can not explain the positive reviews.
The food and service was good but was returned our payment because our 20% tip wasn't acceptable! The waiter wanted 22%, the highest gratuity we were 'invited' to pay on our whole holiday. Don't go if you don't like being dictated too.
Service was great and the food was awesome. Would definitely recommend!
Had breakfast... 2 eggs toast bacon coffee and the tea... 26 dollars... crazy!
I was at New York last week and have the opportunity to eat at this restaurant, the food is very good, the decor also is good but the service could be better.
Quiet place very comfortable to go with the family nothing to say the food. but undoubtedly the attention to the client must improve starting by the hosts are the visible face of the business. Please more empathy ..
Exclusive place, delicious food and excellent service. Recommended
Food was good, but overpriced. You're really paying for the location, so I would recommend asking for an alfresco seat, on the street, and people watching as you dine! The asparagus was lovely!
One of my very favorite places/bar/restaurant every time I go to New York City.
Great atmosphere, good food/appetizers and an interesting place to sit sipping a drink and watching all the people passing by, right in the middle of the most amazing city in the world!
The hostesses are kind and not snobish at all, and always accommodating, no matter the time of day or nite you go there.
Worth a visit, you'll like it!
Really disappointed on the whole line, since the reception, the table, the quality, the noise, the comings and goings ... I grew myself in a fast food ... and yet I had already well eaten there two more times.
New owner ??? or to let go ...
In any case there is work to go up the slope.
Regards, a New York regular.
This is our "go to" place for late night but stick to the burgers/fries. The rest of the menu is good "in name only". We are usually underwhelmed when we veer away from the burgers. But the martinis are WONDERFUL!
Fabulous food, Excellent service, Wonderful experience! Located at 57th and 6th, a hop to Central Park. We've been there before and will go back again! You should too.
Wonderful food and atmosphere, friendly staff a different feel for everyone but yet the same feel for all, warm and inviting.
Very nice place, rich food, regular service (already at this point I think it is a constant of ny) and half expensive. A dish between 30 and 50 dollars.
Fried chicken was great and plenty of it. Mixed reviews on the meatloaf but the mashed potatoes were awesome, herbed roasted chicken was good and so was the burger. The French onion soup was great. The profiteroles were ok. Service was great but restaurant very noisy
We just celebrated our daughters finish of the NYC Marathon today with a nice dinner at Rue 57. We were more than satisfied with everything. The food is delicious and the service is exceptional. Thank you for a perfect ending to a very special day!
Enjoyable spot for a post-Broadway cocktail. Cheesecake was an interesting change of pace with a sponge-cake style crust and a lemony tint to it.
Nice restaurant with delicious Filt Mignon but only 2 steak fries!
This is a French inspired style restaurant and the food was great. Portion sizes are reasonable for the price and the wine selection was amazing! Cheesecake was right there with Junior's, although different than American style. Missing a star bc the service could use some work, the wait staff was a bit slow although very helpful and friendly. Overall great experience.
I've always really liked this place. Just a nice French bistro with pretty good food.
Close to work. After work good bar to catch up with coworkers.
