The food is amazing, the wait staff are fabulous. The hostess might have been having a bad day bc she was kind of rude (maybe bc we looked like tourists and not locals) but overall it was another good experience there. The steak is my fave thing on the menu.

We used a miraculous seat when dinner was crowded. The inside of the store is extremely dark. Only one small candle on the table. At the time of accounting, the receipt numbers were hard to see.
The food is terrific volume, enough for two people to share.

Terrible. Been coming here for years and it's slowly gotten worse and worse. Well this meal was rock bottom. Terrible service, food, and drinks. Nothing was good. Won't ever be coming back to this place.

Bustling midtown eatery. Comfortable, relaxed or speedy, depending on your needs. Fair prices for the quality of food and their professional staff. Poached eggs with frisee salad and two poached eggs was delicious. The omelets are huge, and the coffee hot and a huge cup too. Make a reservation for lunch or dinner.

Not impressed with my omelet although the Bloody Mary was on point. The open doors was lovely. Our name was called but they could not find us, so we kinda got told. Not cool, but we did not let it bother us. I did not think the food was anything to write home about.

Had date night here with my girlfriend. Service was very good, but I ordered the steak au poivre, not realizing that basically means "pepper steak" in French. Fine, my mistake, and I actually do enjoy cracked peppercorns. But the steak, which did come out medium as requested, wasn't very tender and was literally enclosed in a crust of peppercorns. I could hardly taste anything other than the overwhelming flavor of black pepper. I had to scrape it off. The fries that came with the steak were excellent and came with a little cup of what had to be basic Heinz ketchup. This not tender, black-pepper-only steak cost $45. Waste of money.

My girlfriend ordered a Thai spicy tuna roll that was honestly among the worst I've ever had, and I've had GROCERY STORE tuna rolls before. It was
strangely mushy yet chewy at the same time, and I don't know what was spicy or Thai about it.

The wine pours were generous. That's always a plus.

Overall, the vibe of the restaurant is romantic and cozy, but even for that part of the city, everything is grossly overpriced for the quality of the food itself.

One other thing, which is specific to me: I absolutely can't stand the smell of "truffle" oil; I don't exaggerate when I say the smell of this artificial, chemically produced additive nauseates me. And when our server was telling us the specials, just about everything had truffle oil: mashed potatoes, french fries (thankfully, not the ones that came with my steak!), etc. I wish consumers in general would just get over this stupid "truffle" fad. It's not made with truffles, people! It's as artificial as gasoline. Anyway, of course all through the meal the pungent, metallic odor of truffle oil permeated the restaurant and it was quite difficult to enjoy what I could of the meal.

Service was attentive and atmosphere (notwithstanding the smell) was cozy. Food was very mediocre and I still can't believe I paid $45 for what tasted like a sirloin in a batter of black pepper.

A caveat for fairness: As this was the first steak au poivre I've ever had, maybe they ALWAYS come with that much pepper. For all I know that was an authentic preparation, but I'm not exaggerating that there was probably an eighth of a cup peppercorns.

Nice place. Except the hostess in the morning didn t attend to me and just seated people that arrived after me first. Opens at 730Am. Salmon Benedict was amazing and sits on top of a croissant. Highly recommended.

Had lunch with the business lunch rush - what a vibe! Packed, loud, buzzing ... and yet excellent service. Had the specialty sliders ... personally thought they were a bit bland and the fries overcooked. Been there, not sure if I'd go back.

Excellent atmosphere. Low lights and candles. It's located on the corner also with the entrance in the middle surrounded by tall French doors. The weather was perfect so all the door were open. Perfect for a late night bite with the hustle of NYC as your backdrop. One of the best martinis Ive had in a long time. Bleu cheese stuffed olives with Belvedere perfect temperature not over chilled. The classic burger I had was delicious I had more Bleu cheese added to it and it was near perfect. My only small small complaint was the burger was to big to eat. I had to remove a lot of the toppings. I finally gave in and just used a fork and knife. This is a common problem at restaurants. They make a perfect looking sandwich that no one can eat without dislocating your lower jaw. But still delicious.

Surprising gem right in the Central Park area.

Surprising gem right in the Central Park area.

Came here with some friends for brunch on a Sunday. We received FANTASTIC service by Josiah. I was a little skeptical in trying this place since it s in such a touristy area. All I expected was ok food with not so ok prices.

We had some mimosas (the waiter made sure to go lighter on the OJ which was awesome! Brunch food was delish. Prices were what you can expect of NY. Service was excellent.

They give you cute little fruit spreads. Plenty of attention and great brunch food.

We came back with our friends the following day (on a Monday) and found ourselves with the same waiter that remembered us and treated us so kindly.

Unexpected good food (for the area). Thanks for having us!

Omgoodness. This place was walking distance from our hotel, offering outside dining during the quarantine. The seared salmon was amazing. Stephen was the absolute BEST waiter ever. He treated us wonderfully. My husband and I greatly enjoyed his company and service. Next time we visit NY we will be visiting Stephen and eating here again!

Oh well! Maybe I just went there during an off day. Went by myself, after a beautiful stroll through the Central Park. Sat at a table and started reading a book. Sat, sat and then noticed that approximately 15-20 minutes have passed. No one has acknowledged my presence, I had no water, I had no bread, I had no menu. Went up the a hostess and told her that I have not been served yet. She was very apologetic, and approximately after 10 more minutes a waiter appeared. I ordered. However, after I ordered, I overheard that there are actually specials. There was a special that I wanted. However, since no one told me about the specials, I did not order it. My food already had arrived. Ate my food relaxing and reading my book. Spoke to waiter one time. When he took my order. Asked and gave my check to someone else because he was nowhere to be found. Have to say this. This is a pretty descent place. Their food is pretty good. However, I lacked out of good service this time. Will go back again for the food and ambiance in hopes that I don't get the same waiter.

This was a disaster! Haha! We came here for a brunch the day after a wedding. We all placed our orders. One hour PLUS later the waitress approaches to let me know that they were out of the dish I ordered. I was heartbroken. I wanted steak and the other steak dish on the menu was $32. I asked if i could get that for the same price and was told that she couldnt do that. She suggested i speak to the manager which i did after looking at the menu and not wanting anything else.

Long story short everyone at my table shared their dishes with me while I buckled in for a longer wait. My food finally arrived and it was ok.

It was a bit of a let down bc of the experience.

I ordered Le CHATEAU for 2 , cost 70 US dollar. I must made a wrong choice there, because this is a highly recommend restaurant, but the oyster was not fresh enough and lobster was tender.

The service was acceptable. Maybe too many people to them, so that they can t offer better service.

Walked in with no reservation & were seated respectfully & accordingly by 2 wonderful hostesses. The service was impeccable! We ate light & yet these light meals were full of flavor & filling. Best Ceaser salad i've ever had. Beautiful decor. Classy.

Excellent service. The child poured juice and I turned the glass of wine over. The staff quickly cleaned everything. Brought new drinks. And we did not feel awkward. We did not include new drinks. Nice atmosphere and delicious food.

You can't go wrong with this place. It was a last minute decision to go out to dinner with 6 people on a Saturday night. They got us in at the time we wanted, and like always the food was great. Best thing on the menu by far is the fried Oreos with vanilla ice cream.

We went on a Friday night, the food was great but it s not an intimate place. We were packed in next to our neighbors and it was very loud so hard to talk. We had and liked popcorn shrimp, blue cheese burger, and salad nicoise, all very good.

Had breakfast there yesterday. The scrambled eggs were not good at all. The service was quite bad. We were a little bit a hurry so we asked the waiter if our food was ready and he said, looking annoyed, that it is probably in the kitchen being made!! So French attitude that o dislike a lot. Not coming back.
