Appalling Customer Service. But why stop there. Synonyms to really express the sheer lack of interest in providing anything that even resembles customer service include: dreadful, awful, terrible, horrible, shocking, ghastly, horrendous, frightful, atrocious, abhorrent, loathsome, shameful, deplorable, hopeless, substandard, disgraceful, poor, and inadequate. Mostly though, Royal On The Park Brisbane is a 'dodgie' laughable affair that you might just want to avoid.

I was there recently for a conference, buffet lunch was included - service was great but food wise, could be better. Had to ask reception for Wifi code which everyone at conference gets 1GB to use but without requesting, they brought codes to everyone at the conference which was great. Even though I didn't get to use the pool, it was clean and water was crystal clear. Quite liked the place in general.

Great hotel in Brisbane CBD. Classic style with excellent service.
Rooms were fantastic and clean. Staff were all super friendly and accommodating.
Included buffet breakfast was great with loads of options.
Hotel is super close to the CBD and just across the road from the Botanical Gardens. Would not hesitate to stay here again!

Only went for dinner at the Walnut downstairs, but it was a very enjoyable meal. Entree was tasty, had the salt and pepper calamari which was nice and crunchy but a little oversalted. The mains definitely made up for the average entree - had the salmon and the ravioli both of which were exceptional. The salmon was so very well balanced with all the elements on the plate. Was really a delight from beginning to end. The mushroom ravioli was divine and probably the best mushroom based pasta dish I've ever had. Dessert was good but nothing to rave about. Wine selection is very good. Service was top notch. Ambiance was pretty good considering its the main restaurant for a hotel. Would recommend

Room was good and very clean. Room service food was delivered within expected time and was very nice. Experience was a bit ruined at the end when there were bar costs on our bill that we had not consumed. Check carefully.

Royal on the Park: Where the salted nuts are more ...

Royal on the Park: Where the salted nuts are more important than your safety. I first posted this review on Trip Adviser but feel compelled to share it as widely as possible to ensure others don't have a similar nightmare. I live in Melbourne but work in Brisbane which means regular work trips of 2-3 days every couple of months. In response to the relocation of my department my accommodation was moved from the wonderful and warm Hotel Urban to the Royal on The Park. I arrived just before midnight to my new Brisbane 'home away from home'. Perhaps lulled by the familiarity of the Urban i had only brought a digital version of my credit card. Not good enough I was told. Despite the card information I gave them being easily verified and the room being been paid in full in advance for two nights ($365 per night), I could not stay there. I pleaded with them to let me check in and sort it out in the morning but to no avail. I was then forced to walk the streets of Brisbane, a very defenseless blond woman in uncomfortable high heels, looking for a Commonwealth Bank ATM to get out money for a cash deposit. To make matters worse, they had upgraded my room which meant the usual $200 they would accept as a cash deposit was now $500. I asked to be downgraded but no go. My ATM withdraw limit was $200 which they finally accepted until the following morning by which time they disengaged my room key, locking me out until I could produce the further $300. As there is no Commonwealth Bank near my new office I spent a good 90 minutes trying to find a branch so I could pay them in order to be able to access my room again. $365 per night - what a waste of money to be treated so badly for what could have been an easily verified transaction. Trying to come up with the $500 they demanded in cash totally cleaned me out of money for my entire trip. Oh yes, did I add that with the cash deposit setup, I am not allowed to charge anything to room service, I must pay cash up front. Problematic when they they have all your $. I would gladly have been downgraded room wise and been able to have money to buy dinner tonight. I can't wait to check out in the morning, get my deposit back and buy something to eat. I hope I never have to go back to such an unfriendly home away from home. Where the salted nuts in the mini-bar, are more important than the guests.

Awesome hotel. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly. It's a smaller sized hotel for the area but they make up for it in quality being one of the best. Great experience overall. Across from one of the best parks in the world. If you are in Brisbane and want to see lots of wildlife, stay here. The park is across the street!

room service was garbage. payed $27 for a 3 egg omelet which was cold, watery and made from an egg mix (an egg and a half at most) Concierge was acting like he was doing me a favour by selling me a 2 star hotel disguised as a 4 star hotel for $400 a night. i cant say if any of the other hotels in town are less pretentious but i highly recommend staying elsewhere

A lovely hotel with swimming pool and jacuzzi right opposite the botanical gardens and a short stroll from the shops/resturants.
Rooms are spacious we had two queen sized beds. There is a fridge with tea and coffee facilities. Free wifi. Tv in room. Staff are very helpful, Christopher on front desk helped us book a trip to Lone Pines Koala sanctuary and Chris (female) ensured that we drank enough water. Our breakfast on first morning wasnt up to the standard we expected and so having brought it to the attention of staff the second morning we were given a choice of freshly cooked breakfast, this made up for the day before. Chris served us, she was so attentive not just to us but other guests.
A lovely stay.

Room was prebooked & prepaid by my employer, yet they still took out the cost of my stay out of my account.

It has now been over a week, and the amount hasn't been refunded. Each time i call i just get handballed around with no urgency at all to resolved at all.

Each time i have spoken with the Hotel, they acknowledge what has happened - however it hasn't been fixed.

I have even given them direct contact numbers to call my banking institution to sort out - and ensure funds are reimbursed immediately, yet i continue to get the run around.

Never in my time have i received such poor customer service, and it is becoming increasingly frustrating as i have a considerable amout of MY money tied up from The Royal on the Park's mistake made this close to Christmas.

Royal on the Park is a world class Accomodation. During my four day stay, I found the food excellent and the Staff very friendly. The Brisbane Botanical Gardens just across the street is both relaxing and wonderful enjoying a leisurely wander. kick back beside the lake, with it fountains and large variety of water Birds, in the Center of the City. Has to be seen to be believed!
After just four days it was a memorable experience.

A Cosy hotel. Royal is an older hotel with charm, not like some of the uber new hotels with shiny hard surfaces everywhere.
The colour pallet is beige and soft tones.
Location:- Is fantastic. you are right on the city botanic gardens and the views on the park side are just beautiful. The house keeping staff are delightful.

Royal on the Park welcomed my bridal party in on our wedding day so we could get out of the rain and take a moment to relax and unwind before heading to our reception. The service we received was above and beyond anything we ever expected. We were so appreciative of the service we received.

This has to be one of the most luxurious hotels in Brisbane. From the moment you arrive until the morning of departure you will feel like royalty. We managed to secure a special package which was from $168 a night which included free parking, free buffet breakfast in the dining room which consisted of both continental and cooked. The package also included free wifi for multiple devices. (Just be careful with the from as we were charged more)
The only thing that lets the Royal down is the room service. It was over $60 for a toasted sandwich, a kids meal (which was actually presented better than the rest of the food) and a dessert for one. It was mainly the presentation that let them down and for $22 I expected the dessert to be something spectacular and I was left thoroughly disappointed.
We will most certainly return, I travel to Brisbane on a regular basis for work.

I just had my formal there and the setting was beautiful. Nice open outdoor areas and amazing ballrooms perfect for the evening. I have heard from friends that stayed there there the night that it was a fantastic and stunning room

Great value for money. For 169 we got a king size bed, good sized TV, breakfast buffet for 2 and parking included. 10 minute stroll to the center of the city. And spent a fair bit of time in the pool and spa. 1pm check-in and 11am checkout was quite generous. The gardens are just across the road and a short walk to get the ferry to Southbank. No complaints from us at all!!

We really loved Royal on the Park. We stayed in the park side and had a great view and you could even see a little of the river. Staff was friendly and helpful and the location is perfect with a short and easy walk to Queen St Mall who could ask for more?. Prices were also good considering the location.

If your stay in a hotel is going to be good, it starts from how you are received (welcome) into the premises.

I checked only one room though and the finishing swept we off.
I need to check back and ask for a suite :)

I was attending a course for 2 days. The conference room facility is good. The food however, is very basic. What really annoyed me is that when I asked for a small place to pray they told that I have to arrange a meeting with the manager to book a room and pay for it. I told the lady at the front office that I only needed a small corner to use for 10 minutes and she said I still need to pay for it!

Great seminar location, close to botanical gardens. love the pool and outdoor area. Food is a bit hit and miss, could have healthier, less carbie options. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Seminar room chairs are horrible and will break your butt.

Awesome location, comfy bed, nice decor. Bathroom was very small and no drain on the floor. Bit stingy with complimentary offers. Reception staff were mostly nice, though one wasn t very friendly.
