Beautiful location and very nice sitting area with a good view. Wine was also very good and one of our favorites. However, $40 per person for 3 small tastings is an utter rip off. No snacks or food at that price. Nothing out of the ordinary. No exceptional presentation. Three simple to the point tastings. After tax and tip your looking at $50 minimum for a couple ounces of wine. So if you have money to burn this is a great spot otherwise there are literally hundreds of better value spots in the area.

Checked on their website and it said available, got here and was told they were booked up. The nice guy at the counter told us we weren t the first to say that today Asked if we could at least have a glass of wine and he said they don t do that... Mondavi winery had no problem taking my money lol, way better place to visit while out here. Photo is from Mondavi
Wine was good... But service was too much... We felt like we were in school when we just wanted to have wine and relax... When we were looking at the menu she stopped and said "I'll wait" because we were talking when she was... Horrible! Felt like school more than a wine tasting.... Don't go there for girls day
We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting at Round Pond. Their wine was delicious and the bites are delectable. The views from the deck are amazing, although we had to dodge rain showers in order to snap some shots. Our server, Erin, was very friendly and made a point to accommodate my wife, who is celiac, with Gluten Free bites. Keep in mind they did not have any specials for military. Round Pond mostly sells their grapes and bottles only a smaller percentage of their crop, which I felt like I noticed in the quality of the wine, but it was still delicious. I am only giving four stars because my experience at Duckhorn earlier in the day was superior (and cheaper) but I recommend visiting, if you are in the area.
The tall palm tree-lined driveway that led to the entrance gives the visitor a feeling of openness and elegance, which is exceeded by the beauty inside the winery and the grounds. We had wine and food pairings on the verandah overlooking the grapevines, in a very comfortable setting. The selection of wines was superb, and they also offered a great variety of their own olive oils and vinegars, both original and flavored. My husband and I were treated as VIP guests by all the staff. It was fun to walk around the grounds to the small farm in the back and to the very old olive tree grove and enormous agave plants. This was among my very favorite wineries to visit in Napa.
You want find a more beautiful place to taste excellent wines and enjoy the beauty of the valley. And the Round Pond folks are gracious kind and extremely helpful. One of the best!!!!!!
Great customer service, fantastic wines and delicious appetizer pairings...and I love the eclectic music and beautiful views of the surrounding winery and mountain ringed valley views of the outdoor terrace.
The service was super personable, the view is fantastic, the wine was exquisite!! Could not recommend highly enough. If you only make it to one winery for the day, visit this one!
We've been members here for a while now and every visit has been lovely. Round Pond is definitely about the customer service. Today Jeannie poured for us and she is the absolute best. Funny and attentive, she made our tasting experience that much better.
The food pairings were spot on, Jamie the chef is amazing. Make sure to try their reds!
We'll of course be back but will for sure request Jeannie.
If you're looking for a authenic Napa experience I highly recommend Round Pond. I've never had a bad experience here.
Love the wine and ambience but as soon as they realized we were members, bad service. We were willing to buy wine and olive oil and we tipped but not treated well. We had an appointments.
Major disappointment t with the food and wine pairing. Wines were nice but the experience and attention to detail lacking. Bathrooms not cleaned, wine guides young and not so educated.
My wife and I went to Round Pond not for the wine, but for the olive oil. Yup, we went to Napa to taste olive oil. (We had wine in Napa too, but that's not the point right now.) So back to the olive oil...
The olive production division of Round Pond is across the street from the "main" vineyard where they offer wine tastings. Like most places that offer wine tasting in Napa, reservations are encouraged, but they did accommodate our drop-by visit. During our tasting we saw the staff setting up a full tasting for an upcoming reservation, so we can attest that the reserved tastings are more elaborate than the drop-ins.
From the onset we were warned that their tastings were somewhat unusual compared to other olive oil tastings. (Having never done an olive oil tasting before, I had neither expectations nor a basis doe comparison.) Turns out that what makes their tastings so unusual is that you are encouraged to drink the olive oil, versus dipping bread in it, and tasting the oil-drenched bread. Their theory is that you need to taste the oil not the bread, and bread masks the nuance. However, bread is available for the wary/leery.
And what a treat this was! Tasting the oil this way revealed secrets to olive oil that I never previously noticed, for example, I don't recall ever noticing the slightly peppery sensation at the back of the throat that is apparently common with olive oil. The differences in viscosity, bitterness, and flavor were more readily apparent this way than it would have been with bread.
The tasting was also educational. In the course of this tasting, we learned to spot certain markers that distinguish good olive oil from the questionable. We learned the difference between co-milling for flavored oils, versus infusing. We also learned that sugar cubes are an AMAZING way to taste vinegars. But I won't describe that trick - you're going to have to go there yourself to check it out!
The wine is excellent and the tour and tasting, with food pairings, was great. The tour guide at this small winery was excellent. After the wine pairing we went across the street to Round Pond's olive oil operation. The tour and tasting on that side were excellent as well. This was one of the more enjoyable experiences on our Napa trip.
Gorgeous property from the driveway driving in to the spacious outdoor, vibe chair to the vineyard, beautiful landscaping, and that positive vibes the moment you get here.
Round Pond Estate offers award-winning wines over the decades! Beautiful Sauvignon Blanc, excellent Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux style blend, now they make Italian varietals such as SuperTuscan style wine, Nebbiolo too, as well Syrah and others.
Wonderful service by our host. She was amazing, even in 95 degree heat, wore mask, practice social-distancing and still do gracious. We are greatly appreciated that.
Not a dog-friendly estate unfortunately, but we have a service dog/medical alert so it was ok.
They offer club member, you have special access to different wines, you can get to wine taste in their roof top, and much more.
Love their charcuterie and cheese plate, it was delicious.
We truly enjoyed our visit, even during this COVID-19 pandemic challenging time.
APPOINTMENT ONLY! So plan ahead, come with an open-mind, leave your yelp-elite-entitlement at home, you will have a great time! No offense :-)
UPDATE: The winery was able to finally get in contact with me and made it right.
Perhaps if you actually visit here, the experience will be better. Their customer service is severely lacking, assuming you get in contact with someone via the phone or email. I called to inquire about getting a gift card, nobody picked up, their voicemail promised they check messages and returned calls. Not true. Ended up placing an expensive order on 12/11 and paid for 2-day shipping. The gift card was missing from my shipment. Called the vineyard for over an hour and their phones were not working. None of the numbers listed even went through, which caused me to panic that I had been scammed. The second hour I was able to speak to someone who told me they couldn t help, and I had to send an email. (Side note, the email address on the shipping order form is apparently not the correct email if you have an issue with your order). Someone finally emailed me back, apologized, and said my gift card would arrive in time for Christmas. It is Christmas Eve, and I do not have my gift. Not sure why they wouldn t 2-day ship the card when that s what I paid for, but either way, another promise not kept. I emailed yesterday, called and was promised a call back. Nothing. Called again and left another message and have not heard anything.
We did the complete 5 hour tour of the estate, and it was the highlight of our Napa trip. Excellent wines and friendly staff in addition to the syrups, olive oils, and vinegars made a day to remember. We'll definitely be back and we will continue to enjoy Round Pond wines, oils, and vinegars at home!
Our favorite winery that we visited!! The grounds were amazing, and Roxy took SO MUCH time with us. She taught us so much about wine that we didn t know (we had been to 5 other wineries before this one). Everyone who greeted us treated us like we were VIP. We went at the very end of the day and I wish we would have had time to stay longer!!
This was our second stop in Napa. What a wonderful and enjoyable visit. After learning from our first stop, we called ahead and scheduled a last minute tasting. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess who gave us a sample to enjoy in their garden while we waited for a table. Once seated, a very personable and knowledgeable host guided us through their wine and gave us a detailed history and geography lesson of the whole Napa valley. We were not given the hard sell as at our first stop, so the entire experience was great.
Be cautious of their wine club. In a recent trip to Napa I decide to join Round Pounds club. Wow, what a Really bad experience. No welcome emails or thanks you after we signed up. My fist shipment was sent to a FedEx store by my house, why, they couldn t tell me. Then without notice it was then returned to Round Pound. It Literally took weeks to figure it out. My second shipment is currently missing. I ve called and email, but no response from the club manager as to the status. At this point, I m extremely disappointed. There are many better clubs out there so so be cautious here.
We did a tasting and loved the experience. We all bought wine from here. The views are great and the staff was incredible. I wish I could double the stars given.
Wish I could rate this 5 stars but sadly, the staff didn't see fit to even talk to us. Waited in the lobby for 10 minutes and nothing. Not the best way to entice guests to stay.
Very poor quality with and high price for tasting. At $40 a tasting you are being ripped off. If the wine quality were outstanding that would be worth it. Avoid this place at all cost. The tasting does not include any food. I used to love this place but I would never visit again. I think they make there money from tasting instead of selling wine.
Love this place! Go for brunch on Sunday but you need to make reservations for all tastings. We have been a few times now and it s never fully packed just small groups around the entire property. There are private lunches next to the garden. After tasting visit and taste the fruits and vegetables.
The wine tasting went ok. Their wines weren t really everyone s favorite. It was nice that we were seated but we really wanted a couple of bottles for our group vs tasting but we were told it wasn t possible even tho all other wineries we went to allowed us to buy few bottles and drink it on the property.
After our tasting, the guy who helped us was nowhere to be found. We had another reservation so we had to go. Everyone stood up & he finally came.
It was truly a wonderful, as they say, "experience." We would return in a heartbeat and want to do the 5 course lunch at some point. Great wine! Knowledgeable staff! Superb atmosphere! Wonderful winery!
Make a reservation well ahead of your planned trip to Napa. A beautiful winery with the perfect setting for indoor or outdoor wine tasting. Very impressed with their Cab selection. Overall, a very impressive afternoon visit. Will be back soon!
We came here on a coworkers' recommendation. The vineyard is beautiful and the balcony over looks the Round Pond grounds and the hills. Such a relaxing atmosphere! They have wine and food pairings. You get 1 white and 2 red tastings.
One week before my wife and I were to leave for Napa, we found out that my wife was pregnant with our 1st child. We were extremely happy, but that meant that she could not drink wine. We were told about an olive oil tasting at Round Pond Estates. We loved every minute of the tasting and the staff. I loved that their children were riding their bikes in the grapes rows and the place just had a better feel then the others. I would defiantly suggest going to Round Pond!
