Cops don't always do what you want. That being said, I feel the Roselle police are smart, decent, trustworthy and fundamentally fair. In my whole life I've had more than a fair share of dealing with law enforcement, all have been fair. And fair is a compliment.

In the last ten turbulent years of my life, law enforcement have been the only ones who were straight up and honest with me. You compare 100 cops to 100 civilians, and the cops will always be, on average, much better people of good judgement and moral fiber.

It takes a lot to wear the badge and do what they do every day. They save lives for a living.

HORRIBLE "serving and protecting" the community. They define what it is to be a NAZI police officer just following orders.

No signs in the village of hours of parking or not parking and they give out tickets for people out of town parking there when there's literally no danger for anyone to do so. What a JOKE of a police department and what people today are complaining about in bad officers/departments who don't truly serve and protect the community, just following orders to make money lol. Keep doing what you're doing and chasing the money ONE DAY all you departments and officers that do so will realize YOU are part of the problem in this society, not helping or serving a greater cause. Money over happiness, purpose, and ACTUALLY doing something vs everything being black and white and just handing out tickets left and right.

I have an elderly father who was at home by himself, and had fallen asleep. We were worried about him as he wasn t picking up his phone for several hours which is very unusual of him. The Roselle Police department dispatched officers immediately to checkup on him, as we were still 30 mins away from reaching there ourselves. Very grateful they got there as soon as possible.

I love the police and I always have. The Roselle Police Department go above and beyond with helping their civilians. The police do as much as they can to help us. It is not easy to walk the thin blue line and people don't know that. Everyday you come home safely, the officers of the Roselle Police put their lives in danger to stop a person that can make your day change in the matter of seconds. I want to say good job Roselle Police, keep it up!

Since fireworks are illegal in Illinois, I can't understand why the police do not patrol on the 4th of July. This last 4th was one of the worst ones around. People that live in the Waterbury area were blasting off until the wee hours of the morning. Some very close to other people's homes. And of course most of the people doing this are drunk. I would like better patrol on the 4th of July and the days leading up to it.

I will preface this by saying: mistakes happen. I get it. I walked in on a Friday morning promptly at 8AM with a smile on my face.

9 days prior, I received a parking citation at the Roselle Metra station even after paying using the mobile app as I always do. I visited the Roselle village website and found a remediation form used to review parking citations believed to be issued improperly. Filled it out, printed all my receipts, and visited the Police Department to submit it in person.

The official at the front desk walked up with food in her mouth and a frown on her face. I provided all the documents and she immediately began explaining that the remediation forms were no longer used - and that they should have been removed from the website (even though they had the SAME FORM taped to the window where I was standing - which I pointed out and was told that was "just informational").

Since I had in all these forms anyway, she said they'll review it, but warned me to "be careful" not to get another citation. She was rude and unhelpful when I further explained that I pay for parking every day as soon as I park and this was CLEARLY a citation issued in error. I asked what the process would be if this same situation were to happen again since the remediation form was obsolete (again, mistakes happen, I get it). She continued to tell me to "be careful" not to receive another citation - providing no additional information.

I left with my eyes rolling - knowing I wasted my time proving my innocence to this incompetent department.

Tip to those running the front desk: be kind and smile at minimum. At least try to help.

Tip to the parking maids checking cars at the Roselle Metra station: triple check before you issue citations.

Tip to the Roselle village webmaster: update any outdated information on the website to avoid confusion.

Tip to those in the same situation: print out all your receipts and include a printed copy of the citation (keep the original). Don't bother with the remediation form. Just bring in all your forms to the police station and be prepared to deflect any bad vibes from the front desk attendants. Better yet, call first.

The review only reflects the actions of the parking maid and the front desk and does not reflect any actions by any police officers.

I had a real good experience with two different officers in a Civil Assist. Without getting into the facts, both officers went above and beyond in assisting me while trying to work out some issues with a contractor I hired. I really appreciated how they worked through this with me in a really friendly and timely manner. Nice job Roselle PD, thanks!

Very professional and courteous. Community oriented - they offer Citizen's Police Academy to keep residents well informed and involved with the PD. They also offer Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS) for those citizens that graduated from C.P.A. and want to continue to be of service to the PD and village of Roselle.

I've always been a fan of police officers and police departments, but I must say that this police department is one of the worst in the Chicago area. The police chief is a liar and this police department likes to issue fines and tickets to innocent people. Be warned, DO NOT TRUST these police officers. They could care less about the residents of Roselle, as they are not there to protect you. A disgrace to all police departments.
