Extremely delicious and expressive. Great service...

This Michelin starred DC experience is not to be missed, if you like knowledgeable but unobtrusive waitstaff, wonderfully imagined and executed small plates, and a charming atmosphere that goes way back. You might have to queue up, but Rose's Luxury, perhaps more so than anywhere else, puts on full display why DC's restaurant scene has become a force to be reckoned with over the past decade. A gem.

Yum! Paige D., our waitress, was the BEST; crazy knowledgeable, and so kind and patient with my insufferable MIL.

All I can say is lechee salad and cacio Pepe. All around awesome restaurant. Staff is friendly and make your experience great. Get the brisket mini sandwiches off the secret menu!

My first visit. Food lived up to the hype. Doesn't take itself too seriously, atmosphere is fun and relaxed.

I was worried this place wouldn't live up to the hype, but was definitely NOT disappointed. We did the tasting menu and enjoyed many courses of thoughtfully created food.

Rose's Luxury is a sultry blend of uniquely crafted dishes and a lively yet suave setting for a great meal right on 8th street. A bit unsuspecting from the street view, Rose's opens into a beautifully arranged dining room, mixed with bar seating and the more active kitchen front bar. We came during peak hours (6-8) and were able to be seated very quickly at the kitchen bar. Our servers were personable, knowledgeable about the menu, and always had something nice or charming to say. The kitchen works very efficiently and crafts each dish individually. We had a sampling of the cauliflower, oysters, chicken, and their staple the lychee salad. All of them were excellent, exhibiting different and unique flavors. Our server even sent us a sample tasting of one of their specialty pastas so we could try it. We had the caramelized eggplant for dessert. Along the way we tried a few of their drinks, and were equally as pleased with the taste and presentation. Absolutely recommend this place to anyone heading near 8th st, you will not be disappointed.

A whole lot of hype and not much else...incredibly rude and arrogant people that work there. Wouldn t spend my time or money there.

Enjoyed the attention to detail, the impeccable customer service, and the unorthodox combination of flavors - definitely a place where you feel the innovative spirit. However, I felt that they made innovative, unorthodox combinations and flavors taste orthodox and like nothing special (don't get me wrong- this was a good restaurant, but it just did not live up to the hype and the michelin star quality i anticipated).

I can t say enough about this place. Wonderful, imaginative and wel... yummy.

One of the best meals I've ever had. The complexity and combinations of flavors made each dish an experience and the sequencing of dish delivery was well timed and made for an overall great meal.

While their bathroom might espouse an aversion to perfection, the thought put into ensuring their Roof Garden chef's menu accommodates dietary hurdles and the professional service gets about as close to mark as any restaurant.

Food was incredible. The oysters. Lychee salad. Pasta selections ... Wow. Definitely some of the best food I've ever eaten. Service outstanding and the ambience fantastic.

Worth the wait. Margarita -esque cocktail, table bread, and the pork lychee salad truly blew me away. Great ambience. I've heard you can rent out their back patio space for larger parties. Expensive but doesn't have to be if you stick to one drink and skip the family style option.

Worth the wait. 4th time is a charm. The food is excellent. The grilled fish with flat bread and spreads is a highlight-highly recommended. The ambiance, the service... everything is just great.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. Everything we had was impeccably prepared and presented.

We had to wait in line to hours prior to opening to get a table for six of us, and it was totally worth it. We took it in shifts and the rest of the group had drinks in the bar next door and watched the world cup.

Cool place, innovative and interesting(quite experimental cuisines), hipster driven. Great service and smiley servers. Food was okay. We tried lychee salad and tandoori-ish chicken(served with tomato curry and mango sauce, and cucumber rice) great place for special night/date.

Come here for the first time! I really liked the food, I wondered how good the food might be without the magic of the team to finalize and serve the dishes, but at a glance the price may seem high for lunch, but they were amazing and completely worth the price.

Really liked the dynamic of the place. And for the quality of the food the price is very reasonable. Ask for the chef's table/bench and watch them prepare the food - careful though as you will undoubtedly order more from the kitchen.

Gorgeous place with good food! Waited at 4:40 pm and got seated shortly after 5pm. If you get to choose, sit inside instead of the outdoor seating since it's gorgeous inside.

Delicious food and beautiful ambience. Their menu is continually changing but some of the favorites I had for dinner were the lychee salad, Japanese Fried Chicken, and the butter filled dates. This place is pricey but the food is worth it. Great place for dinner with your parents or date night.

Went here for my birthday. It was good, but it didn't blow my mind like I was hoping. The first couple dishes were definitely better than the ending ones.

Phenomenal. Their menu is absolutely amazing. My number one piece of advice is do not be afraid. If the combination of foods sounds strange, it is still likely to amaze you. Take the dive. We had pasta with a predominantly strawberry red sauce and it blew my mind. The service was also top notch and the decor was perfect. I will be back. I long for more of every dish I had.

Food is very tasty and presented in an innovative way. Had very enjoyable time with occasional free dishes interspersed between courses.

The long line for to get a seat and the hype are all justified. The food is crazy delicious and the staff are so knowledgeable and create such a dynamic dining experience.

Ordered recently by Door Dash, and have zero grievances. This Rose's Luxury is the best shop here, always producing great food. The staff are polite and nice, recommended for sure!

I am willing to give Rose another chance because of the service. I just wasn't blown away by the food.

The food selection was very interesting. Decent amount of pasta selections and good drink menu. Food was good, service was good and our waitress was very sweet. 4 stars overall. Didn t quite live up to the hype.

A friend of mine recommended this place so I decided to pick this restaurant for my anniversary. I ordered the spicy oysters, lychee salad, the wings, and the brisket. I was amazed with everything but if I go back I'd hold on the wings. The staff was welcoming, helpful, and always attentive. The food came out one at a time and I never felt rushed. The drinks they offer as well are distinct and were just as amazing. All in all I would definitely come again. My friend who has been here multiple times tells me they have always hooked her up with a dish or two free of charge. This didn't happen to me so I was a little bummed for this; however, I cant really be distasteful to this restaurant because I had a wonderful time.

After I get a girlfriend and we have a wedding even though she s not going to be a professional chef I can guarantee that her food will taste better than anything These people made I didn t even finish the meal

I've been to Rose's Luxury three times now. Amazing. But the trick to enjoying the food here is to remember that every dish is about the combination of flavors. When you take a bite, make sure it includes a bit of everything on the plate. Parts of the dish alone are fantastic, even sublime, but together it's transcendental. And yes, that includes the parts you're completely convinced you won't like.

I first went here in 2015 and remembered it to be really amazing food. I went again this past weekend, 4 years later, and it continued to be super delicious. This time I had a bourbon brisket cocktail, which I was nervous to try but it was completely worth it. The lychee salad, cacio e pepe, and a rhubarb pudding dessert. Everything was amazing but the cacio e pepe stood out for sure. Lastly, everyone was very nice, welcoming, and easy going.

Excellent place. I love the environment. The staff is entertaining and engaging. Very lively crowd. The food was delicious, and the menu was well laid out and thoughtfully designed. One thing that i didn't like was the fact that you can make reservations period. At first I just thought they didn't participate with OpenTable but you can't even call to make one they don't accept reservations. The line was very long and I had a moderate wait time. I did meet some new people in line so the wait wasn't all that bad. If you're planning to go, make sure you get there early. I can honestly say the wait was worth it which is why I still have the place 5 stars. If you have not had the pleasure of dining here make sure you make your way over here quickly.

Went for dinner on a Saturday. We did have to wait in line but got a pick of times for 2 people. We got seats with the kitchen view which I highly recommend. We had some small dishes including the Lychees one and the mushroom dish (sorry, can't remember official names). Everything was great and the prices were comparable to others in the range. Would definitely go again!

My 3rd time here and it's consistency in food and customer service is still amazing. I ordered the 8-9 course meal and it was just so much good food. Definitely recommend to come wait at 4 if you want to be one of the first to dine when it opens at 5.

The food was absolutely incredible. I highly recommend the brisket, but there wasn't a bad dish on the menu.

I do suggest making a reservation in advance, as the wait can be a while otherwise.

Second time here and still just as amazing. You can do without as many dishes as they recommend. Worth the wait!

This place meets the hype. Too pricey to do regularly, but it's really great though.

The food is excellent. Chelsea took care of us extremely well. Cocktails were wonderful. I had at least two foods I'd never had before. They handled my allergies masterfully. Also, for a family gathering of 8, everyone could be heard. Wonderful place.

There s been a lot of hype for this restaurant since they got a Michelin star but the food has been going downhill since we ve visited last year. They don t take reservations and the wait on a Saturday evening was 2 hours for a bar or kitchen seat for 2. We ordered the rigatoni pasta and family style beef brisket. The pasta was overwhelmed by the excessive amount of cheese so we couldn t really taste the pasta. My favorite dish here used to be the beef brisket but today s brisket was like a fatty sirloin. It was dry and chewy despite the fat. I think any bbq restaurant can do a better job with the brisket. For $36, the dish was a big disappointment. Service is the only good thing left about this place.

One of if not the best meal I ve had. Every plate was thoughtfully put together to be the perfect combination of flavors. Truly loved it and it was such an experience- the staff was friendly and helpful with great recommendations. Also sitting at the chef table was great to see the care put into each plate. All in all about a 2 hour experience and we loved every bit of it.

Refused to seat us as a party of 6. Not good for groups.

Feels like you stepped into your grandmother''s kitchen...except this kitchen is home to a tattooed genius and his lovely restaurant family.

Ashley's level of service never fails to impress. And there is no cocktail that Chelsea has not heard of! If she has the ingredients, she can make you the perfect anything! I highly recommend dinner upstairs at the bar so these two ladies can take care of you.

Over the years I've frequented Rose's and it's become my go-to when I need to feel at home and have a delicious meal. Please don't ever nix the Lychee Salad :)

I had three dinners delivered to my house; it is was extremely well organized and prepared. It was really easy to follow the instruction and we really enjoyed our three evening, we just said too bad we do not have a fourth dinner!!!!

Stylish venue and next-level cuisine from a top-notch menu. This combines in a restaurant that also manages to be friendly and welcoming. If you want to feel good about life and living in DC, an evening at Rose's will put you right there. Service was faultless and the cocktails deadly and delectable.

Beyond the food, which was excellent, the service here was probably among the best that I have ever received. Our waiter gave us excellent insights into the menu and was very attentive. We asked him for a recommendation to decide between two dishes, but he ended up gifting us the other dish anyway just so that we could try the whole menu. We were celebrating a friend's birthday who also happened to be moving to LA the very next day. When our waiter heard this he sent over a small birthday dessert and a list of personal restaurant recommendations for LA for my friend. Overall, everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming.

On to the food. The menu is rather small and eclectic, but that is part of the charm here. Things that I never thought would go together like popcorn and lobster or strawberries and spaghetti were part of some of my favorite dishes. We ended up ordering all of the small plates (including greatest hits) and the family style brisket. All of them were great, but I would probably skip on the green tomato panzanella and the sweat pea primavera next time. Drinks were also quite good, with a good selection of both unique and traditional cocktails.

Overall an excellent dining experience. I highly recommend.

We always have a stellar time here. Never gets old. Food, service, and drinks are top-notch.

Food was pretty good. Did wine pairing with our 9 course meal and got three different wines. Seriously? That's not a wine pairing. Gotta do better than that.

Imaginative food without a reverential atmosphere. Like eating with a really smart chef who waved you over to "try this". Informal garb adds to the pleasure of a lot of fun. Our group of four bought one of everything on the menu and shared.

Very good food and service, only complaint is it was so loud I couldn't understand what the food and drink that was being brought to us. Just observed there mouths moving. It was delicious though.

Went to see Yottam Ottolenghi launch his new book and he recommended Rose's as his favourite place in DC so I went to check it out. Hands down the best restaurant I've been to in DC. Service was warm, informative and relaxed. Food was an awesome mix of pasta and Asian inspired dishes. Left full, happy and price was an absolute steal for the quality. A must for anyone this side of the Atlantic.

Amazing! We are visiting DC and our sister brought us here. Her boyfriend got in line at 4:30 to get a table for the night. I completely understood why you have to wait in line and they don't do reservations. The reasoning behind it is they want people to sit down and order the food and thoroughly enjoy it and order more. The menu was awesome. Unique choices. We ordered the grilled cucumber which has so many flavors and so unique it was delicious. We ordered the skate wing which was one of the greatest items I have ever had. The flavors were divine. The restaurant brought out their Brussels Caesar which was really good and extremely kind of them. For the pasta dishes we ordered the hand cut trenette which was unique and good and they balanced the flavors extremely well. It was definitely something most people would butcher at home. The other pasta was the spaghetti alla carbonara which was epic. I enjoy pepper flavored foods and the pepper on the pasta was delicious. I could have licked the bowl. Finally, we ordered the coffee brule and the cayenne pepper ice cream and they were both good. I don't drink coffee at all and the coffee desert was extremely good. The service here was 5 star quality. Our server was Cezar and I want to personally thank him for excellent service. He was so kind and knowledgeable and very passionate about his job. He truly made the experience fantastic. The other gentleman who was helping him was so tentative with the water and anything we needed. I can tell this place is a jem to locals and I am so happy we went here. It's one of the best restuarants I have been to. It had 5 star service, fantastic atmosphere and unique delicious food.
