This place is the epitome of east town Grand Rapids with satisfying Gilmore Collection culinary marvels and a wonderful view of Reed's Lake. Go when it's warm and sit out on the dock eating your delicious food while watching boats go by.

We've had other entrees also that are just as delicious. A better than average joint by the lake. We were there for lunch in February, and the place was bright, warm, and cozy. Food was above average. Great fish and chips. Burgers great (although one a bit dry). Decent selection of on tap beers. Would go again.

Great meeting place
It's right on the lake. We asked to be seated out side, next to the water. It was lovely. There were approximately 15 small sailboats out on the lake that I think we're rented and those people were having a great time as we're the people in Rose's both inside and out. It was a mix of family, some young, some older people but very cozy. The wait staff is young, but very professional.
I ordered the parmesan crusted chicken and my cousin ordered the pork dish. We shared each other's dish and I must say, EVERYTHING was delicious. My cousin ordered a draft beer and I had ice tea. The sun was going down and a breeze had started to really cool things down, so we went inside to have our dessert. It was a brownie mix with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. We split the brownie, it was big enough for two. The bill came to about $47 dollars, which wasn't bad at all.
I would gladly recommend that place to anyone that's looking for good food, ambience, and reasonable prices!

Rose's is amazing! It's part of the Gilmore collection and we have always had good experiences in their various spaces. The fact that this restaurant is on Reed's Lake with a beautiful view year around is just icing on the cake...and if you've had their desserts you know what I mean :) Enjoy! We always do!

I'd like to say every trip there was a pleasant one, but my most recent dining experience was a disappointment. Our waitress never told us her name or what the specials were. Instead she asked what she could get us in a very impersonal fashion. Once we had our food she never came to check on us until she came to see if we were ready for our bill. we were hoping to stay for another glass of wine and maybe desert, but since she never asked/offered we paid and left. Seems like she wanted our table back more than our business. I understand it was friday night and busy but we did not expect to feel so rushed. It was really a let down considering I've had many other pleasant experiences there in the past.

Lovely restaurant by the lake, you have to be patient as you wait to enter (at dinner time) but you can go to the lake and wait.
Celebrate my birthday there and ate excellent. They have a children's menu and for all the portions they were vast.
Excellent waitresses.

DO NOT COME HERE

DO NOT COME HERE
Most uncomfortable dining experience I have ever had!
Food is over priced for the quality
The bartender couldn't even make a cosmo right
The owner of the restaurant (Richard) came
Stumbling up to my table wreaking of liquor and spilling his straight makers mark on himself and our table. He pulls up a chair and starts eating our chips. He started to flirt with me agressivly even after I show him I am married. He starts to beg me and my friend to come with him and his friend Gary(also major douche) on his boat to do cocaine.
Of course we decline in fear of being raped and just didn't want to go anywhere with a drunk who is old enough To be my father.
Very politely we say no Thanku.
We leave the restaurant to go out to a club.
-we see these men following us
- I thought we lost them... but when we leave the club the security asked me if this is my car. I say yes and he proceeds to explain to me that 2 gentlemen (who match the description of Richard and Gary) were letting the air out of my tires and then sped off when security approached them.
***The owner of this restaurant is a drunk, a creep, and possibly mentally unstable***

We took our daughter here today to celebrate her college graduation. They had a table immediately ready for our party! The staff was very upbeat, polite and efficient. This was our first time at Rose's and we couldn't be happier with our experience!!! We WILL definitely be back!!

Perfect place for a work lunch party. We had a group of about 8 and we had made reservations so they seated us quickly and we started off with their famous homemade chips. I ordered a sandwich that was both filling and delicious. Everyone at the table was pleased with their entrees. The service was great and we will certainly return. The only caveat is that parking can be difficult.

The location is wonderful - it's right on Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids. On a pretty summer day you cannot get much better views and vibes within the city limits. They do not take reservations so you can put your name in and then walk around John Collins Park just next door as you wait.

I took my sister and mother-in-law here for lunch and we all thought that the food, service and view were excellent. The Tomato Bruschetta and Root Chips were excellent choices for appetizers. Both dips that came out with the Root Chips were very tasty. If you order this, get two servings for each dip. The Build Your Own Pizza was good but expensive. My sister liked the Vegan Burger. The Blackened Mahi Tacos were okay - nothing special. I would recommend getting a table outside so you can view the water. Really adds a nice touch.

Yesterday my husband and myself decided to enjoy an evening out and relax on the patio at Roses. This was our first time to dine here. When we arrived the restaurant indoors was fairly empty, however the patio was well occupied.
After bringing us water and introducing herself, our waitress said she would give us a few minutes. I quickly said we would order drinks now.
When she returned with our drinks she took our food order. My husband ordered the fish and chips, I ordered the Mahi Tacos.
We waited a considerable amount of time for our food(at least 30 minutes). While waiting, my husband finished his beer and I finished my wine. Our waitress took our glasses and never asked if we wanted a refill.
My tacos were dry and falling apart. The waitress never came back to ask how our meal was, just took our plates. Never asked if we would like desert, just if we needed anything as she brought our check.
On the upside-My husband quite enjoyed his fish and chips. Very thankful for that.
The warmest moment we had was after dinner when a gentleman at the kitchen said thank you and have a good night.

It was our first time visiting with my kids, truly enjoyed it. Food was absolutely delicious, staff was very nice and attentive. My son ended up changing his mind on his order and waiter didn't hesitate to make the change. Because of the restrictions at the moment their is a wait to be seated. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. Will be coming back for another visit.

We had a large group (17 people) with a reservation and Rose's had everything set and ready to go. Our waitress was awesome, as were the additional helpers who stopped by to assist with filling of the glasses, etc.

Food was great, we all enjoyed the root chips especially with the goat cheese dip. You can't beat the view from the back room on the lake, even though it was cold and snowing outside, the back room was comfortably toasty.

WIth a group this size we were able to order a wide arrange of choices from the menu. Everyone was sharing and pleased with their choices. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Good food and menu some new and adventuresome thanks to Gilmore management. Views of Reeds Lake. 3 dining rooms: indoors, enclosed patio, and sunny deck. An E G R staple for a hundred years, now part of Gilmore group which means the prices are not "beach house burger joint" any more.

This is a great restaurant! There was a wait on a Saturday evening but it was worth it! The service was great and so was the food. We tried the root chips and they were delicious! For my main course I had the parmesan crusted chicken which was awesome! There is also a great view!

Get the fish and chips! The fish is battered in tempura batter and the fries were definitely gourmet overall was some of the best fish and chips I've ever eaten. It definitely didn't hurt either that we were sitting looking at the beautiful Reed Lake while eating fresh fish. Can't wait for my next visit!
