The food is just amazing with a mixture of taste, never overpowering such a perfect blend. For the set menu, each course you can choose between 2 items. So my husband and I tried to choose two different dishes so that we can try everything. Aside from the 4 courses, there are all these wonderful interludes, a little bowl of soup, pasta with lobster meat that was out of this world, and the refreshing sorbet to cleanse your palette. It took a while to finish all the courses, but the pace allowed us to really enjoy each course. There were plenty of food consumed in the evening. Oh, I forgot to mention their bread and the most delicious delicate foie gras mousse. Yum Yum!

I have heard good things but that was not our experience. We arrived at 5:00 on a Saturday night, just a couple people in front of us. 30 minute wait to get a seat. 45 minutes to get a hamburger and 20 minute to get the bill.
I don't know if this is typical wait times? There was a crowded hallway to get in and out.
The menu was lacking. The food was "ehh" for the price. Probably won't go back
On a positive note the location was very nice on the lake.
I just expected better.

Amazing scenery, and delicious food. There's usually a line out the door, but I got lucky and was immediately seated on the patio. Average wait time for the food, which was much higher-than-average quality!

Beautiful, warm atmosphere However, the booth seat was pretty uncomfortable: I kept having to get up or change positions to keep my hips from hurting. Delicious food, though, but a little expensive, especially considering the portion sizes are in the small side. For example, my sides were approximately a 1/3 cup of mashed potatoes and three stalks of asparagus. According to the wait staff, this plate was one of the more generous portion sizes.

Classy dining experience that is enjoyable all times of the year through the various seasons. It's located on the lake with beautiful scenery. The food is delicious, staff is professional and polite. Drinks are made well and tasty with great bartenders. In the winter you can see people ice sailing, and ice fish on the lake. During the summer people swim fish, and park their boats at the dock. Everytime we have gone here we see a lot of wildlife. It's an experince to sit in the conservatory dining area next to the water. One of our favorites

Pricey, but that s what you d expect for East Grand Rapids and definitely warranted given the quality of the food. Makes for a great place for a fancier date night after walking around Reeds Lake and then getting ice cream at Jersey Junction afterwards.

My wife and I visit Grand Rapids regularly, and always make it a point to visit Rose's. Friendly, warm, neighborly ambience with outstanding food choices perfectly prepared. Don't take my word for it- try it for yourself - and see for yourself that my recommendation is spot on.

My wife and I went here for our Second Anniversary. She loved the Moscatto. I got a blended red which was delicious. Server was helpful with suggestions. I ordered the Mac and Cheese (very good but I'd go different next time) and my wife ordered the Parmesian Crusted Chicken Breast. Apple Crisp for desert.

Awful. Service was terrible took me half hour to get a water, food came completely wrong, watched 3 tables come and go before I got a simple burger meal. I guess if you like waiting 2hrs for food that's not prepared how you ask go you'll have a blast.

Amazing dinner! We stopped here for dinner on our one night in Grand Rapids. We had only a Google search and recommendations to guide us. We were not disappointed. The menu has something for everyone. Service is top-notch. The atmosphere is cozy and upscale while still being child-friendly with high chairs, coloring pages, and a children's menu. The view is fabulous. The portions are large and the food delicious. We would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Great quaint little place on the water! Awesome patio out on the lake. And the food was just as good! Drinks were made well. Service was prompt, attentive and personable. Would encourage anyone who hasn't visited to stop by for a bite. Great place!

My family and I went there on a spontaneous Saturday lunch. They were very accommodating to our group of 6 including a 2 year old and a newborn. The waiter was very friendly and brought fruit for our 2 year old ahead of the meal which was well appreciated.

Not a good experience at Roses today. People who arrived after us were seated before us even though we specified first available. First food choice not available though it was on the menu. Second choice came to the table cold. The waiter replaced the entree but acted put out. Won t be coming back anytime soon.

Really great service with some delicious food. I had their veggie pizza which absolutely incredible. We also ate their root chips with dip which were also delicious. The view by the lake is also really nice.

Went on a Tuesday shortly after 2pm. Was seated immediately on the patio by the water. It took at LEAST 15 minutes until somebody approached our table to acknowledge we were there. We ordered drinks and water. it took another 10 minutes waiting for drinks. We ordered our meals (there were 2 of us) it took another 15 minutes to get our meal. Never had our waters refilled. The chicken pesto salad was dry and and had little taste. I think it was supposed to come with a bread which I never received. Took a chance to order a chocolate brownie with ice cream. When it finally came the 2 scoops of ice cream were 1/2 melted. An unbelievably disappointing experience for a $42 lunch experience at a presumed to be nicer restaurant. We finished shortly before 4pm!
Rose s disappoints

Lovely location even in the dead of winter. Staff was very pleasant, interior if restaurant clean and comfortably spread out. With a crowd, the noise level was still low enough to have a comfortable table conversation. I had the potato crusted walleye, with a kale and beet side dish. It was cooked quite fine, it just really lacked distinctive flavor, so a bit disappointing.

A wonderful gem nestled against Reeds Lake. Beautiful atmosphere and establishment. The service was excellent, along with the food. It is on the more expensive side, but well worth it. Overall a great experience.

We arrived here on a Thursday early evening around 4 pm.

We came here for the 1st time with out of town visitors because my daughter was told it was great. The hostess was beyond rude to us when she seated us so fast we did not have a chance to ask to be seated in an outside seating spot as the covered patio space smelled badly. There was a waitress next to us and we asked her if we could move and she said no problem sit anywhere. The hostess did not just say a few scolding words but badgered us about it. We should have gotten up and left. We watched as she did this at least 3 other times to Customers.

Our waitress was the only real pleasant part of it. It was her last day there and she was looking forward to her next adventure in life.

The food arrived before we had much time to eat our starter, which was very good. One of us ordered form the specials menu Salmon and risotto. It was not risotto and the fish was so over cooked. The whole dish was very bland to taste. We hardly touched it. The other Salmon dish that was off the main menu was also over cooked but compared to the specials menu salmon was good. The mac and cheese was good as well but as a whole none was worth the money.

So if your truly a lover of great food and great service this is not the place. If you looking for plane food and staff that has no clue about customer service but do not mind high prices and a good view then this is just the place for you. For the 3 of us it was a really bad way to start off a visit and came at far to high of a price.

I had the cranberry turkey sandwich, which was delicious. The chips that came with it we're mostly burnt, which was disappointing. My husband had the fish and chips and said the fish was perfect, but the breading was spicy.

The staff though, were amazing. I came with family after a funeral with a large group and an infant. I was worried to say the least. The staff were kind, didn't seem annoyed when we stood with the baby, and seemed happy. I would definitely go back.

Your paying for area and atmosphere. I felt like there were alot of tables pretty close together inside for a pandemic. Service was slow. The mac and cheese was yummy but I've had better for $20. Its the second time I've come to Rose's in the last 10 years and it will be the last.

A place with a history. Probably one of the must visit places in Grand Rapids. May have slow service during busy ti es. The view of the lake is beautiful but that would be the reason for higher priced menu. 4/5 stars

Update 9/15/18: Server Tim is just amazing. I could clearly see that he loves and is passionate about his work. He truly takes time to know the customer and have a genuine conversation. It was a busy Saturday lunch, so he also gave us root chips on the house while we wait for our food. 5/5 stars
