I was upgraded to a park view suite and am speechless. Just speechless. It. Was. GORGEOUS. If I had the ability and were the kind of person that could live in a hotel? This would be my place and with that corner park view suite. The staff, as expected, were attentive and 100% lived up to the Ritz Carlton standard. (My suite was on the 4th floor, for reference)

Nice location just outside of Central Park and walking distance to Time Square. The service was quite nice and the staff was very friendly. It seemed to be leaving the grandeur I had expected from this chain.

I would have to say my visit to the Ritz s disappointing. Granted, I did not stay at the hotel this time, but I have stopped in for a sick many times before. It was not crowded, but it took forever to get a server to pay attention to us. The wine list seemed pretty sparse. I had to hunt down a waiter to get a second glass of wine. The atmosphere is still cozy and I would probably go back, but this visit was certainly a bust.

I've been debating whether or not to write this but as I'm half way through a family trip if it improves I can always update it. For the astronomical prices of everything that has to do with living here with two rooms of people for a week I can honestly say I'm insanely disappointed. Nothing has been first class, not one thing, and this is "The Ritz" which is supposed to be the international standard of excellence. Additionally, there were first class hotels that cost far less but again, "The Ritz" has appeal that up to this point I was willing to pay extra for. From 3 meals a day with 8 people in the restaurant and for Thanksgiving dinner to the spa, I just can't say I'd stay here again for these prices. Perhaps for half as much, however, before I'd even do that I'd have to explore other options in the area of the same stated caliber.

The worst reservation experience I have ever had. Their online system simply doesn't work. The representatives were rude, inflexible and impatient. The information they gave me were totally wrong. They would tell you that they are doing you a favor talking to you. Even though I really like the hotel, I'd never go through their system again.

Spectacular stay! I absolutely love the attention to detail that the hotel staff has shown. We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff had left champagne and strawberries on arrival. We were asked for our plans before arrival and the guest relations manager left small mementos in our room after each event. This was greatly appreciated and showed the attention to detail we enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and responsive - we needed a few items during our stay and they were always provided in a very timely manner.
The rooms get very spacious for NY and we're very clean.
I am absolutely sold on the Ritz Carlton brand and will most definitely look for other hotels to visit around the world.

Beautiful hotel, excellent service, luxurious bedding, modern amenities with an elegant lobby in an ideal location. This property is one of my favorites! Add to that they've upgraded the rooms to include USB chargers and great bedside lighting and large screen TV! All on Central Park and a few steps to Columbus Circle

The rooms at the Ritz are boring. It looks like motel 6. No style at all. Sometimes comtempory does not work and here it adds no elegance. The bellman joked about getting our luggage so we just carried it ourselves because we needed to get out of traffic! The club level waiter visited (talking loud about personal information) to one table ignoring ( and annoying) all the other guests.

We have stayed at many Ritz Carlton s where we have been completely satisfied. One really expects a good experience in New York but not here.

A classic old world hotel in nyc. I booked here bc if it s proximity to Central Park for morning runs and it did not disappoint. The service was on point, rooms and other facilities so clean, and the food on the premises was tasty. The bathrooms have a great deep tub for a relaxing soak which is a rare treat in nyc hotels. Loved it and will be back.

It is wonderful to see the culture the Ritz-Carlton embodies in full effect at Central Park, "Ladies, and Gentlemen, serving Ladies, and Gentlemen." Thank you to the entire staff for the contributions made everyday of our stay. It was an awesome experience, we could never imagine staying anywhere else.
Cassidy, in guest services, thank you for going above and beyond to make sure our 6 month old baby was comfortable.
Felix, Charles, Lazar, Pablo, and the rest of the Gentlemen in Club Lounge that made our family, feel like family. We appreciate your hospitality, thank you.
Andreia, Lisa, Jimmy in the Spa, thank you for adding to our amazing experience, best massage, and facial ever.
Orlando, and the Front Desk, thank you helping us check in quickly when we needed to get the little one into the room. Thank you for the generosity as our flight was delayed twice due to weather. Keeping the family with you, and soaking in every last moment hit the spot.
Housekeeping, thank you for making sure we had everything we needed, and the extra care you extended our family.
Doormen, thank you for being so attentive, providing umbrella's on rainy days, opening car doors, and helping with luggage.
We look forward to our next NYC trip, and creating more memories with you, thank you!!

Not a typical Ritz-Carlton experience. The location is fantastic. The room was nice but not amazing. The staff is very robotic. the service in the lounge was ridiculously bad literally had to wave down the staff for attention. Food was just okay soft drinks are way overpriced. There was Zero recognition for Marriott Platinum Status which now allegedly mean something in a Ritz-Carlton but not at this location. Just a lack of attention to detail that you would expect from a Ritz. most of the time when leaving the hotel the door was blocked by the door Man Standing on the outside looking away with his arm on the door. Just not paying attention to what's going on if you're going to be a doorman make sure you're there to open the door and not block the door. the hallway for my room had a cart full of paint cans in it most of the day. How tacky for a hotel of this level.

Where do I begin? Service was slow, even though it was not a busy morning. My husband's sausage had a mysterious chunk cut out of it - were they hiding a bite taken out of the meat? Revolting. The eggs were flavourless. The breakfast potatoes were the wrong variety, with a grainy taste. The breakfast pancakes were not cooked all the way through. Had this been food served in a high school cafeteria, for ten bucks, I would have been satisfied. But to eat such ORDINARY and flavourless food at the Ritz for over $350 for four adults and two toddlers is really intolerable.

I think this particular Ritz Carlton provides really excellent first rate service and the rooms are generally spacious and comfortable. Every one is friendly and accommodating. I think they go above and beyond, and while the St. Regis in NYC is still my favorite of the brand luxury hotels to stay at, the Ritz is always excellent. I will note one trend that has started since Marriott became the dominant force in managing the RC -- the lounge quality is dipping in the food department. The RC Cleveland food was down right awful and the last time I was at this property it was just.... ok. it seems others have noticed as well. It's to justify $150 a night for mid level food and a few perks. While it's nice I question whether worth the add on at the moment. Still -- I do love this property and despite that tiny flaw, I find it a first rate hotel.

Ritz-Carlton is the best. Went for high tea to celebrate my birthday. The staff was so polite and accommodating. The Ritz-Carlton NYC is known for their scones. So good. I loved the tea sandwiches too. Wished I could stay longer to have a drink in bar. Next trip for sure!! Oh the concierge helped with directions and gave me sightseeing ideas.

Lovely high-end Hotel located in the Southern and Central Park on Central Park South it is in a great location but extraordinarily expensive. Really should be reserved for exceptional occasions. The restaurants in here are exceedingly expensive. Not the type of hotel price they charge. But for special experience if you can afford it and is a nice hotel.

This is a place where everything is expected to be perfect. It is tough to review a place like the Ritz because at these room rates you hold them to a totally different standard. If you are looking for a perfect stay, with a perfect room and perfect service this is the place for you, but if you are looking to be blown away by excessive amounts of luxury this isn't it.

Forgotten order (coffee never arrived), super slow wifi (with no premium option), didn't call me when I got a package (luckily I checked tracking)... noise from train, no bidet in toilet and smelly carpets. Only thing going for it is nice looking rooms and location.

This is an amazing hotel, it is very easy to access to any location, all the restaurant near from the hotel are high end style. At this location the bar is very cozy, I will recommend it to get a Martini with Stolich. The people that works here is very professional.

Let me just start off with this:

Let me just start off with this:
For the cost, I don't think it's worth it.

The fact that internet is not complementary with all guest rooms is absolutely absurd. They did mention some rewards program they have, but that's still not enough. You are chargerd a ridiculous $15 a day for "High Speed" internet, which it claims isn't for video, but who knows on that front. There's a more expensive option if you want "Ultra High Speed".
-The real motive here is clearly attempting to get money been subject to on all fronts from the losses they've likely had from their pricey on-demand service. Video services like Netflix/Hulu have effected their revenue.
-So make money by selling data instead. People either use that or continue to use on-demand.

The reality here, is the price is only as high as for the fact that it is in Manhattan. You are paying for the location with this one. And while some people may say, "yeah, exactly!", I have to argue that amenities like breakfast, lunch, free internet, etc should be included with such a premium service.

Don't treat it like a secondhand motel. Give it the full Hotel experience. Best Western shouldn't feel equal or better than the Ritz-Carlton. Yet after this experience, I'd have to say yeah...It was nothing special.
