My husband and I, stayed at The Ritz-Carlton NYC in 2011.
Absolutely beautiful, service is impeccable, delicious menu and fantastic rooms with great views.

Great location to Central Park and luxury boutiques.

Highly recommend.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. My husband and I are in New York for work and we are very happy. The staff is too incredible and helpful with what to do. I will stay again. Unfortunately we have a reservation somewhere else but I had to share. Thank you for a splendid time. The walls are a little thin but I don't want to complain. It was not anything we could not handle.

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here and the entire experience was a true delight. The staff was so friendly and helpful and they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. I would definitely come back and enjoy another getaway here with my wife.

If this is your thing and you can afford it this is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. I gave it 5 stars, some might consider it 4. I have been here quite often, and the staff is obsequious without being overbearing. The rooms and the decor are nice, but places like this are really all about service.

A Ritz-Carlton experience that is not ...

A Ritz-Carlton experience that is not ...

An ok experience at The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park, which for a Ritz-Carlton is not acceptable.

Check-in service was unfriendly and impersonal which was a surprise when you consider that I'm a Platinum Premier member with Ambassador Service, and that is meant to be the "Ritz-Carlton". Apparently, spending 125 nights a year in Marriott products doesn't mean much to them. No upgraded room available albeit the hotel was mostly empty. I was given a room with a view to other rooms ...

The room was mostly ok except that getting the WiFi to work required a phone call and one of the black-out curtains didn't work at all. About the curtain, we only found out at 1 am when we tried to close it ...

Cleaning carts were parked overnight in front of my room door, which made me feel I was "stored away" in the broom closet (see pictures).

At check-out, I requested the folio to be emailed to me, which they never did.

I won't be back. I don't have a problem paying for something nice when I want it. It is inexcusable to pay for Ritz-Carlton to get service I could have gotten from the Sheraton.

Amazing service. They even took care of us when a local restaurant screwed up our takeout order!!! When the restaurant wouldn't fix it, the Ritz Carlton did! Totally best hotel ever! We have stayed here many times, and every time, it gets better and better.

I didn't stay here, but I am an avid member of Ritz around the world. I was a little disappointed with the service and layout of the bar, food, and front lobby. I still give it 4 stars, cause its the Ritz and I love them no matter what. - The bar is tight and awkward but service was good.

I d give a zero star rating if I could.

I d give a zero star rating if I could.

Soo disappointing! Dirty, greasy headboard. Dead flowering plants. I asked for extra blankets that didn t come the first night when asked.

I asked for a tea pot in the room and it a coffee maker with paper cups, and k cup for tea, which doesn t allow the tea to steep.

Hostess didn t tend to their station and kept guests waiting needlessly.

Great view of the Statue of Liberty with very dirty windows.

Woken up after 9:00pm to ask if I d received my tea pot. The one I was provided was a coffee pot at 3:00pm. Not sure why they waited six hours to ask. I said I was fine and sleeping. A half hour later, I was woken up again. After that, I was unable to go back to sleep until after midnight.

Offered a credit that didn t materialize.

It s understandable that it takes a while to get the car. However, it was very cold and the outside door was left open. This is a horrible waste of energy and very unpleasant for the guests.

I don t blame the staff. They were all very kind and trying hard. It was terrible Management. Zero attention to detail. I ve had a much better experience at inexpensive hotels.

There is no point in spending your money to stay here until they get new management and train their staff.

COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT, UNPROFESSIONAL AND THREAT...

COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT, UNPROFESSIONAL AND THREATENING STAFF, CORPORATE AND UPPER MANAGEMENT UNRESPONSIVE!

I was having a drink by myself at the Star Lounge when a patron (under some form of influence presumably) acted strangely with the staff. It got to a point that the bartender (CELINE) even gave the check to the patron (without him requesting it) so that he will leave. Instead the patron sitting next to me started harassing me, I repeatedly requested that the patron stop his line of inappropriate (sexual) questioning and the bartender's move was to seat him 2 seats further from me (instead of asking him to leave or calling security). He continued harassing me and I asked the bartender for the manager because it was obvious that the bartender was not going to solve this situation. 15 minutes later I requested the manager again and Celine REFUSED TO CALL THE MANAGER! I went to find the manager myself and told security I will be calling the police if the situation is not addressed properly. Celine demanded my credit card prior to leaving the bar (apparently that was her biggest concern) and I talked to the front desk manager who tried her best to rectify this and told me that she will comp my drink.

Security was called and about 30 minutes later the patron got even more intoxicated and was taken out of the bar. NYPD was called by then but in the meantime the patron ran away... I asked Celine kindly to cooperate with law enforcement to which she responded that she did not see ANYTHING (really?). I told her that if she is intentionally going to omit information that is illegal and called obstruction. To her defense came CHUCK and ordered me out of the bar and as I was standing by front desk, he almost (intentionally) bumped into me, showing dominance and arrogance complimented with his threatening behavior.

In the end, they still brought out the bill for me, but I did not sign it because the manager said it will be taken care of (1 drink) and they still pushed the charge through so I had to call AMEX to dispute the charge.

I raised issues with the manager, emailed the director of the hotel and corporate, furthermore I also mailed in a certified letter with my complaint and remained completely polite in the entire process. This was 1 month ago. Nobody cared and apparently after waiting for 1 month I can say with much certainty, nobody will care. That is what you can expect at a fine establishment which used to be the pinnacle of upscale hotels.

Not only in this Ritz-Carlton, but I will never step foot in ANY Ritz-Carlton Hotels in the future, ever. Very sad how this once upscale brand turned into an establishment where a customer's complaint goes unanswered.

Simply a great hotel, service and concierge are fantastic. Good selection of cognac s for the late night post dinner swig. The suites are great, obviously a lot smaller than in other cities #this is New York. Very comfortable bed. Happy to return!

We are at this hotel for honeymoon and 4nights, my husband and I will not live again. Employees do not speak English or managers. They are charged with the use of all facilities in general 40euro, a shame. We can play tennis 40euro to participate in the competition. Then we went to the sialic acid in the locker room and the staff said 'will extra 20euro per person'! what? Are you kidding at the 40euro tennis match after taking a bath? But unfortunately it won't close you.

Super hyped place - but despite being ambassador elite and jan 2020 being an off season, I did not get a good room - and mind you, there were rooms vacant of same type on higher floor with better views!

Meh, anyway - except the views also did not like the general vibe of room - cramped too much furniture in room

World-clasa hospitality and luxurious accommodations. If your room isn't park facing, the view will be a little less impressive. Dinged a star because at this price you can find some even more fantastic experiences (although not in the heart of NYC)

The in room dining is a joke. We stayed 3 nights and each time there were mistakes, ranging from minor to ridiculous. I.e. forgot bacon with breakfast; no cheese on a quesadilla. Management was less than responsive at all levels. Door men, front desk and housekeeping all what you would expect from a 5 star hotel but the food & management have serious issues. I recommend trying other nearby options.

I just checked in to the Ritz Carlton Central Park location and the service is incredible. It's my daughter's birthday and they decorated the room with balloons and a streamer, had a beautiful cake and cards for her AND had a DVD of Drake (who cancelled his concert this weekend - which is the reason we came to NYC this weekend). From the moment we walked in, everyone was amazing, accommodating, and delivered exceptional service. Ritz Carlton, you are our hotel of choice from here on (and we have stayed at every top hotel in NY). Thanks, Agatha Bis

Beautiful hotel. Only complaint was that our check in was at 2 p.m. and it wasn't available until after 6 p.m. and they did nothing to compensate or change accommodations which really sucks. Thought customer satisfaction would be one of their main concern but not the case.
