Did Marlene get fired yet? She s so rude to so man...
Did Marlene get fired yet? She s so rude to so many patrons I started going to the east branch to avoid her uncomfortable looks and snarky attitude.

i take the kids here...sooo much fun, great pop up books, a lego table, a puppet theater and the biggest feature, a light house they can actually go in. we always find close parking, and the building itself is beautiful. they really like to come here and so do i.
This downtown library has a great collection of books, DVDs, historical materials, music (CDs and sheet/bound) and a really nice children's area. Staff is usually really friendly and willing to help. The second floor Art and Music area is a great place to plug in a laptop with free wireless and a great view looking west towards Marquette University. I just wish they were open later during the week!
Very large library with a great selection of CDs, DVDs, and books, especially graphic novels. Some upstairs rooms are modern, yet have a certain classy vibe. The largest upper room looks out onto the city. Great natural light as are the upgraded self-checkout kiosks. Friendly staff, and the small bookstore always has a good selection.
The biggest Milwaukee Public Library. It's spacious and beautiful. I even had my wedding photos taken here. They look like I'm in a palace.
I'm biased towards this library because it has been my main library since childhood. Staff have been great and very helpful. The turn around time from ordering online to the drive through are quick. My ONLY SMALL knock is that they don't always have updated versions of certain things (like Rosetta Stone or other tutorials) but that's not their fault entirely. I'm happy see their updates and changes. I walk 2 miles for exercise to go here. Love it!
I lovw how the livrary library looks when I first come in I lobe looking up. Then the children's area is fun for my daughter playing on the lego table, the trains and climbing up the lighthouse. Thwy have differnt thi gs going on there with tge children. I love it.
Love this library it's a awesome library they help you with just about anything like if u cant find a movie they will help if
U need help with anything they will help u 100 percentage of the way
Incredibly helpful staff. The people in the Maritime area on the second floor are very knowledgeable and helpful.
Lately I've been visiting the library closest to where I reside, recently realizing how resourceful they are, they have a comfortable lounging area for device users and most importantly various programs for kids (family cooking, game night, arts and crafts, music production, etc)
I love this entire library with my entire life. They have everything you might ever need when it comes to literature. I taught myself American Sign Language with their supplied books, I taught myself to write better paragraphs, taught myself to take life easier, and so much more! Now, the property might be littered with "Beggars", but they are made sure to not harass people coming in if they want to stay. It is just the kind of city this is, so it's not like they can help this sort of crowd sometimes, at least they leave you alone so don't worry, they have wonderful security!
Two floors (and a third where they store books but nobody is allowed to go there, because archives) worth of education and entertainment, your possibilities are truly endless! This library has the largest selection of books I might have ever seen so far in my bookworm life! Highly recommended!
A man could get lost in here...
Or to free his mind of his ex wife
Easily the best library in Milwaukee County. Biggest selection of books, very nice architecture and helpful staff.
You can tell what a history Milwaukee once has, this truly gives you a mixed feeling about the Midwest.
Love this place. Gorgeous interiors, huuuuuuge selection, helpful staff, lots of space to hunker down and work on things.
Huge and stunning is the best way to describe this beautiful place. Not to mention a full collection of wonderful books and DVD's. An amazing place to visit.
It is a great place. The staff members are helpful and friendly (usually) and the services are exceptional. They even have a scan-to-pdf or email function which is free!
I love this location. The building itself is elegant and charming, and the children's area is expansive and will keep your kiddos occupied for hours! I love the monthly family events and the used book store.
Coolest library ever to visit. I love bringing my daughter to explore
The best. The kids call it the castle library. The folk/fairy tale section is amazing.
It over ran by the homeless and people whom need to plug up to study it very difficult to find a table
The lobby is worth popping into if you're into architecture. Seems like a lovely place.
Huge library with a substantial collection of books, periodicals and even art. This is easily the best library in the metro Milwaukee area.
I checked out the Milwaukee Public Library Branch in Wisconsin. Due to Covid-19, all Libraries remain closed until Further Notice. Hopefully it will re-open soon. Hang in there.
Beautiful space with a great selection of books! The staff is also very nice, which is quite a contrast to the workers at other locations.
Beautiful, old style architecture that obviously also features MPL's largest collection in a single location.
Beautiful building with wonderful staff. Sometimes parking can be a problem.
Easy access to the computers. Printing was easy. Parking was ample. Elevators accessible. Plenty of hand sanitizer. Ot didn't look like they were wiping down the computer stations, so be sure to bring your own wipes or wash hands after use...
Good customer service job center very good computer classes are outstanding
An excellent library. One of the best I've been in.
update your hours when you change them. The branches are updated. I drove here and had to wait an hour and wasted parking fees.
Tha architecture alone is worth the trip, not to mention this is a 1st class library (system).
Milwaukee has an outstanding public library system. One of the great things about this city.
Loved this place since I was a child. Unfortunately the transient population is in full force here. But I don't blame that on the Library...
I Love This Library, Great Customer Service And If Need Help With Anything Someone Is Always There To Help!
I love coming to this library for the books and information I need, everyone is super friendly, helpful and there are a alot of secruity. Its also clean and super organized. But the homeless people ruin everything by standing around outside begging or being loud or sleeping at the computers.
Tremendous facility that is an absolute beauty to behold. It's unfortunate placement in a bit of rundown area can be overlooked as you feel in a different world inside. Really good selection of books and other items. Librarians have been helpful with membership, checking out things, and getting pointed in my searches for literature.
The bums break into your car and steal your belongings
It would be a lot better if so many bums didn't hang out over here. One was staring at me through the crack of the door while I was using the bathroom and started cussing at me for no reason.
The library is only open till 6pm, not 6:30pm on all weekdays. Don't be fooled by the inaccurate google time display. Make sure to double check it on the library's website!
Pretty quiet, staff is not that friendly. Other than that, good library
This is one of my favorite public libraries in Milwaukee. The building is large and has several sections. The children's section is adorable. They have blocks for kids, a smal tower that kids can play inside, puppets that can be borrowed as well, and lots of books in a variety of different languages including Arabic children's book.
Staff are friendly and very helpful.
In the summer, they have a reading program for both children and adults. My child and little brother loved the reading program/ challenge and felt competent due to very encouraging words they received from staff and also the prizes they got.
Beautiful old building, lobby on the south entrance has nice floor mosaics. The genealogy collection on the 2nd floor is a great resource to research family history. 1000s of books, wide selection of CDs and DVDs. There is a used book store with great deals. A must visit for tourists and if you are a local and do not have a library card you NEED to rectify this and seize the priceless resource.
Simply put, this is an amazing Library. Beautiful historic building, massive collection of so many amazing books, artifacts, city history, etc in addition to an excellent children's section, welcoming staff and great events that draw the community in. Everything a library should be!! Check out the beautiful arcitecture- this building is a gem to the City of Milwaukee!
Nice library for reading, study, and other office service. Clean and calm
One of the greatest institutions in Milwaukee. Beautiful and full of amazing things, don't miss it!
