Rochester Mills Beer Co. Review

I love this place. We go here every year for my birthday. This year it was for our anniversary. Try the tiramisu with a milkshake stout. Trust me. Yum. :)

My most recent visit I didn't get food but it is usually good. I like the atmosphere but usually on every visit to the mills the service is awful. We did go during peak bar time but our waiter would come by maybe once every 30 minutes. There was live music which is nice but it was far too loud. I was trying to talk to the person next to me and I was screaming and they still couldn't understand what I was saying. Their martini's are very good but their menu needs updating. Everything that they had listed on their menu they didn't have. Mediocre experience at best.

No trip back to Michigan is complete without my trip to their Brewery in Rochester. Love this place

I'm super satisfied, the food tastes really good, the choice of dishes is huge. But there is not only something for everyone when it comes to food. No! When it comes to beer, you can also drink a wide range of good quality beers from different countries. What I also liked, before ordering a beer, you can have a free tasting if you like the beer. I also liked the atmosphere in this brewery and the interior. I can recommend it to everyone even if you don't drink beer.

Nice place to hang out, good selection of beers, can be really crowded during peak hours...

The building is beautiful!
Last time I came here the the server was very friendly and the food has been consistently very good (all things considering). It s nice to go to this restaurant after walking on the trail. They have a wide assortment of beverages as expected.

Great place! Loved the live band and the Moscow Mill Mules.

Enjoyed their Walking Mortal Boysenberry beer, it was so delicious! Light at only 3.5 ABV, yet full of flavor and has a great finish!
I am Normally a cider drinker, but this beer is something I would enjoy drinking anytime! It is right their with the Gypsy Goddess Radler which I also enjoy!
I only wish that the Walking Mortal Boysenberry was going to be available more often. They just serve it at Restaurant as a in house special for a limited time.
So I would suggest getting a growler to go!
I am just happy we stopped in when we did so that we got to try it!

The food was great! I can't wait to go back as they had many great selection. The atmosphere was warm and enjoyable and is walking distance from downtown Rochester. Service was good.

Hit or miss. Some things are wonderful and some are misses. Not consistent. Order the mac 'n cheese one day and it is delicious and creamy. Came back and the sauce had seperated and it was as thin as skim milk. Update: the Farmer's Burger (one of my original faves) is disgusting now. Taste and texture is worse than McDonald's, if that is even possible. Thin and over processed patties were so gross that I could not eat. Zoom in on the picture..how is that grass fed beef?!

Good selection of biers. Burger was OK but far from excellent. Location is cool, an refurbished old building

Fantastic beer and their calamari appetizer is incredible.

One star says it all!! Dinner menu, one word disgusting!! Service was very good but my husband and I took two bites of our meals and could not eat anymore, hope the dog likes it. Will not be back. YUCK!!!

I celebrated my birthday earlier this evening in this great place. Well we had a brilliant evening and the place was undoubtedly the reason for the strong celebration. The stuff helped in a sweet way, the food was great and my friends were very glad. We shall no dout visit again for more joyful events. thanks very much.

Beer was good. The service was terrible. A waiter was "having words" with his manager and whining about having to give up one of "his" tables. Not my problem. Drinks were coming slow and I gave up on ordering food. Will not go back. Too many good breweries around here to waste time at Rochester Mills.

Beer is always good but service is not great. We sat at the bar had 3 different bartenders help us. 2 of the 3 were very bad, never checked in on us, didn't bring us plates/water when we asked, and did not seem to care. We may or may not come back.

It was ok. The place was empty but we were seated so close to the next table where there were people.

We used the Private room for a family members 90th Birthday ! The place was phenomenal , the food excellent and our Server " GINA " was Incredible ! Thanks Gina for making everyone feel like Family ! FIVE STARS all the way ! ( Please give that girl a Raise !

Great bar food, amazing draft beers, lovely atmosphere and pool tables add to the fun.

Food was fantastic and server was wonderful. You know the food is good when you are done eating and the food still looks good at the next table. Thumbs up!!

Stay away from the nachos appetizers I got food poisoning from it. I called the next day to let them know but nobody had the courtesy to call me back. I'm still waiting 2 weeks later. I'm not sure if I'm ever going back to the brewery again.

Our server Amanda was excellent very nice and her attentiveness was out of the charter.

Not a huge selection of food but what they have is very good, this is the salmon avocado burger and Tiramisu for dessert both were very good..
Would love to try the carrot cake but you definitely need share it with someone...

Great place to catch up with friends! Especially when "Planet of Fun" is playing U BRUCE

We were at the Michigan State Bowling Tournament in Waterford the 5th and the 6th of March, 2016. We had about 20 people that were with us and we had heard that the Rochester Mills Beer Company had good food. So we called ahead to make a reservation and we were told that they do not take reservations but to call when we are on our way. We finished our bowling at the tournament and we called the Rochester Mills Beer Company to let them know we would be there in a half and hour and that we had about 20 people with us. When we arrived we were told that there was an hour and a half wait as there were no tables available for us. I asked to speak to the manager in hopes of maybe coming up with some sort solution. When the manager came over and I asked him if he could help us out he asked " Did you have a reservation" and I said "No, we were told that you don't take reservations and we were to call ahead when we were on our way". He said yea that is correct we don't take reservations. Now I am really confused. So I asked him if he could possibly find some way of helping us find a place for us. He said the he couldn't. I told him that we called ahead like we were told to and why wasn't there any table getting ready for us. He said that he gave our table away 45 minutes ago since we were not there. Now I really confused since we only called a half an hour ago. I asked him again if there was anything he could do to help us out and he said all he could offer was that we could go over by the pool table by the bar and wait there and have some drinks until some thing came available but that it would still be quite while yet. I told him that was not acceptable and that I was not very happy. It seemed like it did not bother him at all. I don't understand, if you try to make a reservation and they tell you they don't take reservations but to call back when you are your way. You would think that they would be at least working on something to get you in when you arrive. Even if they had to split us up at different tables.

The atmosphere was great however it was extremely loud and hard to hear. It was very busy even on a weeknight. The food was great and reasonably priced.

Fast and great service. Hummus platter is amazing and the burgers were okay.

Great atmosphere. Awesome live bands. Lots of room inside but parking is sometimes scarse.

It looks quaint on the outside, but looks like any other bar and grill on the inside. The food was also not that great as it was salty. My Dad could not finish his chicken pot pie as it was very salty.

Great beer, good food, healthy portions, trendy setup

Fun place to dance but it's always so hot and they don't move tables off the dance floor for more dancing room. All about the $$ I guess.

Lazy day lager and Rochester red were fantastic brews! Louisiana Jumbayla was excellent. Busy place as many people have found out how good it is.

Was not pleased with the service tonight. The hosts were not very nice and some of the waitors were inconsiderate. Will not be going back

If you have extra money to splurge on yourself, this is a place to get great tasting food.

Come here whenever we golf in this area. Have always loved it. On our latest visit though, they were short staffed in the kitchen and we waited over an hour for our dinners. To compensate, the manager did buy a round of drinks and gave us gift certificates along with his apology.

Service, food and beer were all excellent. Could not say enough nice things about it.

My husbands favorite brewery and we celebrate all our birthdays, anniversary and get together s here !!! Greats place to hangout .

Foods all good, like to walk the trails after we eat

It was a slow Thursday night. Meaning not a lot of tables and super slow service. In fact, I asked the waitress. She asked if I would like it before my meal, my response was yes. I am still waiting for that cup of

Great food and drinks. Very long wait. We were told to call ahead for seating. Tried but they would not put us in line. Drove over an hour to get there and then had to wait two and a half hours to get a seat. Highly recommend for slow times, but I doubt I'll be back on a weekend anytime soon.

The calamari was amazing. The poutaine fries were underwhelming! The short rib was tough I would have rather had two calamari. It was a fun place to go for a Saturday appetizer time.

Convenient parking, hardly ever a wait for a table, good food. Service can be a little slow but it's a pub so order a brew and enjoy the atmosphere.

I have been there twice. Place is nice with good ambience, nice food. Always a good option for party with Frnd s. Live music is add on.

Cool place and appropriate for families. Vibe or music is not too loud. Double IPA is very tasty! Happy hour is generous before 6 PM.

Went here for a family gathering. Waitstaff did a great job accommodating for our large group. Had poutine and wings as appetizers, both were fantastic. Unfortunately though, my main course of a cheeseburger did not live up to the same standards, but was still OK.

Beer has gotten better over the years, but stick to the tried and true bar food...Anytime I stray to one of their more unusual offerings I am disappointed. Beer is better than their food.
