We rented RV for 9 days, wanted to visit national parks, after we started moving, half of the drawers opened and this lasted until we bought a tape. Previously we believed RVs must have had good locks for safety reasons, but only some of them worked property so we nearly lost our laptop...
The staff kindly informed that the indicators of water and battery were little bit out of order, but first , unexperienced, we thought that was not much of a problem. However, it turned out to be essential.
So we arrived to the first fairground and wanted to make beds, but when we touched them, the mattresses turned out to be so dusty that we had to beat them up outside the vehicle. In case we had asthma or something they would be quite a challenge to sleep there. Anyway, if you charge $210 preparation fee, can you vacuum mattresses? No?
The walls and floors also needed some washing, so we did all that before bedtime.
The batteries turned out to be old and thus dead and in case you don't know in Yosemite and other parks (where RVs are useful at) they don't have full hook ups..so even economising, not turning on lights and freezing we still soon had our fridge off, so after just two days in parks we had to leave this idea and go to more civilized places because even 5 -hour driving would not help to charge the RV battery.
While dumping the water we had a leaking hose and you know, the check engine light went on on our way back. Don't want to be too precise with details, but I guess that was a trip that we didn't want.
Anyway, we addressed to the company on our way back, they said they are really sorry.
Fine then. We are very sorry for the feedback.

Before we took over the mobile home at Road Bear, we spent three weeks in Canada on a rented mobile home. Since the service was really great there and the vehicles were new, our judgment about Road Bear is mediocre.

My plus. Road Bear is led by nice Bernern. The language made the handover considerably easier. When transporting a shuttle, only one piece of luggage is allowed. We therefore had to take a taxi.
The delivery is better looked at, as at the handover. The vehicles are fully equipped. But not up to date.

Otherwise everything was o.K.

Amazing experience, we rented a motorhome for 7 weeks and had great service both at pickup and drop off.
They did not charge us for any of the small minor damages to the RV, and even gave us an inconvenience refund for having to had gone to a repair shop during our trip to get something fixed.
Excellent shuttle service too!!

It is a place with affordable prices ... you just have to make sure you fill the gas tank because with a gallon that is missing they charge almost 70 dollars otherwise the attention is very good and they explain everything very well ...

Overall - Roadbear is good. Coachman RVs are not. My experience with employees at Roadbear was good. The reservation process was smooth. The people very responsive to all my questions. They allowed me to pick-up our RV a day early when our travel plans changed. Pick-up and walk-through was good. Recommendation: pay SUPER careful attention and actually DO EVERYTHING as they walk-through the RV's systems. Push the buttons, plug things in, take a good 60 minutes to actually try everything. The reason I'm recommending this is because I had issues - not only with the RV but also with the hoses that Roadbear provided. Both the sewer hose and the fresh water hoses were old and worn-out. Roadbear allows you to spend up to $50 on these items however; I had to call-in multiple times to figure-out what to do because we went over the $50 limit. Also, the electrical systems are complicated. Running the generator was very complicated. It didn't work, and then it did work and there are little switches in multiple places. We tried them all according to the manual but also called Roadbear and went through the issues. Of course, at check-in the generator worked fine! The hot-water heater truly broke during our trip. The main module fried itself and needed to be replaced. Also, a lot of screws fell out all over the place in the RV. Drawers fell apart, ladder fell down because the screws attaching it were bad, a light fixture came loose, there was a big separation in the doorway and you can see the road below. Again - most of these items were not Roadbear's fault -- rather the poor quality of the Coachman RVs they rent. This is the second RV we've rented. The previous was a Citation which was much better quality.

During our return process, we complained about each of the items listed here. The Roadbear person then tried to argue with us about each of them. And, when looking at each individual problem, they were small -- the issue was that there were so many problems. It hurt our vacation.

To Roadbear's credit, they refunded us for 2 days of our rental -- but I had to argue and get angry with them. So -- overall, I'd say Roadbear is OK but then again all the other major-named rental places rent-out the Coachman RVs.

Here's my recommendation (for Roadbear or any other major RV rental place)
1. Thoroughly run through EVERY system during check-out. Run and test everything. Try all the buttons. Attach the hoses. EVERYTHING.
2. Be prepared for things to break - and set your expectations that you'll need to do maintenance on your Coachman RV. You can spend $50 for needed items. Expect to spend it! If you expect it to not have issues, you'll be disappointed.
3. If things go wrong, call them and have them mark it on you record. Be prepared - Roadbear expects you to be an "owner" of the vehicle and do research into the issues and potential fixes.

I'd give them 2 stars but made it 3 because they listened and finally credited us for the issues we had.

Loved my entire experience renting from Road Bear RV Agoura. I rented for Burning Man 2017, I was able to snag an RV last minute and it was a beauty. Everything was new, worked well, and i got a full hour run through upon pickup of the vehicle. Out on the playa everything worked great and it was an easy return process. Every employee I came into contact with was professional, helpful, and happy. Will definitely be renting here again! Thank you Road Bear Agoura!

Good RV's - expensive ..

The SFO office could learn a thing or two from the LA office re. friendliness
Dont take the limited wifi offered with the RV .... rather get an unlimited pre paid sim card from one of the cell comp at approx $75 per month ...share via hotspot ...
Sewage pipe "drain support (concertina) stand" should be in included ...
Radio dvd entertainment system is good but way too complicated ....
Satellite tv dish ... not enough instructions on use ...

I booked a one way rental from the factory to Cali (only available this time of year) but they rent and sell RVs all the time. My trip was amazing from start to finish. The staff at both end were a pleasure. Every interaction was superior customer service. The vehicle was beautiful! Every where I stopped people had questions but the real beauty was inside. I have never seen an RV with these astetics. The details are thoughtful. Some details of note: Serta mattress, pop up additional counter space, microwave/convection combo, on board generator, propane furnace a/c unit, so much storage, instahot water heater, and a back up camera that is always on so you can see behind the vehicle just like a rear view mirror. It drives like a big SUV with all of your favorite things inside. There is so much more but I took a video and not many pictures. The layout and more info is online.

Attention rip off.

Attention rip off.

much of what is described here, we can confirm. Friendly service, good support on the way ... but also that our car simply had a bad build quality ... the almost new vehicle from Ford (engine, cockpit) was technically probably from the 80s with corresponding consumption.
The "hammer" came to the end: We had 2 bicycles with us and therefore called beforehand to ask after the shuttle (inclusive) if there were any problems - no, not if they fit in the car.
On site, we were running out of time, then it was said that the bikes did not fit in the car - without testing it. You, Roadbear, could call us a taxi that would be big enough - at our expense. Unfortunately, due to a lack of time, we agreed.
In fact, a taxi appeared that was exactly an identical vehicle to the Roadbear Shuttles - lo and behold, our bikes fit in.

Conclusion: Roadbear saved a shuttle to the airport ... we paid an extra $ 160. For me, a case for the lawyer.

Very nice at the beginning, now with the delivery, very unfriendly and accusing. We treated the motorhome very carefully for 10 days and even cleaned it. Now we count every single scratch that was there from the beginning. The bed was fully covered at the beginning and looked great, I removed the covers and found a completely dirty mattress. And now we are said to have caused this stain. An impudence.
Our car couldn't be described as clean anyway. We found garbage behind the seats. The condition of the interior was bad. During the journey a drawer opened permanently and screws rolled out from under the furniture.
The handover protocol and the damage assessment leaves a lot to be desired. Outer scratches on the entire outside were summarized as a line and now we are said to have caused all others except for one scratch. I recommend everyone who should even rent a RV here to document all the defects themselves and not to fall for the ease at the beginning.
The only advantage with this company is that German is spoken.
The booking also comes. We booked a 20 feet RV and got a 30 feet. At first this looks great, but the following problems result: higher consumption, few standing spaces for this length, terrible parking situation, many inaccessible streets.
All in all, only conditionally recommendable

We were traveling with a Roadbear camper from 09/24 to 10/12 and would definitely not recommend this rental to anyone.

We were picked up by shuttle transfer as agreed and taken to Agoura Hills. The instruction was carried out by a German-speaking employee and was ok so far.

When we checked the vehicle afterwards, I noticed that the propane tank was under the mark that we should sign. After I communicated this to the above mentioned employee, I was informed that the vehicle has been standing still since Saturday and the refrigerator would have "used" this propane.

Well, since propane wasn't very expensive, we left it that way.

We then drove from the farm after around 3 hours and started our journey.

During our trip we got a pebble in the windshield so that a small "chip" of about 1.5 cm was visible.

Although I have 3x! I called and pointed out I would have this repaired immediately. by visiting a Safelite workshop, we were advised against here and we should continue. The damage would be repaired when it was returned and that was not a problem.

To our surprise, when the vehicle was handed in, the windscreen had to be completely replaced because the vehicle had already been sold. My comment that I very well agree that the window will be repaired, but not completely replaced at my expense, was not answered in any way. The "supervisor" did not find it necessary to check this and disappeared without a trace.

Conclusion:
- I was billed for a new disc -> US $ 400
- The only Roadbear employee who took care of our request was the one to whom we delivered the vehicle. There is no trace of Swiss or German friendliness
- The renter pays all wear and tear on the vehicle so that it can be sold again as expensively as possible and pays a high premium price compared to the competition

For me this was the last time Roadbear. This company has nothing to do with the Road Bear team that we met in 2010 and 2014. I have seldom been treated so rude / unfair!

(+) Free transfer from/to hotel (luggage limit cfr. airplane seems logical)
(+) Excellent reception, free coffee and wifi while waiting, clear information and instructions, friendly & professional lady showing us the RV. At arrival last day we felt less 'welcome' & helped in the beginning.
(+) RV very well equiped. Car & home.
(-) City-water-connection could'nt be connected. Signal tank-levels not correct. CO-alert that kept beeping in the middle of the night because of low-battery-risk is not fun, not necessary & quite frightening (we only knew about the 'battery-alert' after that night)
(+) Thank you very much for the extra help with our problem (no credit, no rental car) and transfer last day !

As 1st time RV renters, we are so thankful we went with Road Bear. Check in/out was super easy. The RV was in great condition. They even gave us a ride to the airport without any charge! We had a wonderful vacation because we didn't have to worry about any failing equipment. Thank you Road Bear!

Excellent customer service. This was my first time renting an RV. The truck was clean, in good condition and a perfect fit for us. The gentleman at the desk made it look easy. His explanation was on point, and helped me and my family have an excellent first experience.

I would definitely use Road Bear Rv Rentals again. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Hector ensured we had a quick and easy transition for filling out paperwork. Headrick was our trainer and ensured we understood the ends and outs throughly. RB rv made our first time renting an rv great! see you guys next time! The RV was emaculate and exactly how the pictures looked.

Me and my wife had a great time with our Britz / Road Bear motorhome.
With almost 5000 miles, the WoMo was practically new and worked absolutely reliably in all respects. The interior was also in perfect condition.
Only the cleanliness of the dishes was sometimes poor. However, this is more the responsibility of the previous tenant than RoadBear. The bookable convenience kit also includes everything the camper needs in the kitchen and bedroom on a longer trip.

At the handover, everything necessary for the operation of the WoMo is explained. The delivery was absolutely problem-free and quick with us. The subsequent transport to the airport was also perfectly organized.

Nice to know: If you want to fill up the propane gas in the WoMo directly on the day of delivery in the Agoura Hills, it is best to go to the nearby u-haul (landlord for moving cars, trailers, etc.). In any case, the petrol stations in the surrounding area do not have any.

Elmar and Cagla are very nice staff and picked us up from the hotel early and on time.
We refused to upgrade to a larger WoMo.
The instruction was routine. Unfortunately, the heating did not work, which only turned out after cold nights. The colleagues
from the help desk were also very helpful.
Otherwise, these Womo's are just rattling boxes.
You have to accept that

RV's are in very good condition, ours did only have 15k miles on it. The engines are powerful but heavy drinkers :-)
Only thing that I did not like with Road Bear is their customer pick up/drop off policy. There is only one time slot during the day they offer. That can easily cost you several hours after arrival @ the airport before you can start your journey. Same with drop off of the RV, there is only a very short time slot in the morning to return and then you wait @ their site until they drive you to the airport.

I live locally and have rented 4 times from Road Bear.
We really like this location but this last rental was a nightmare. The shower leaked bad. I called it in and there wasn t much they could do. Then the fridge and freezer stoped working even though the RV was level.
One shower in five days and lost $200 of food. Not what I paid $1500 for. I was also charged almost $400 for a rock chip on the window.
EVERYONE WHO DRIVES ON CALIFORNIA ROADS SHOULD PLAN ON THIS HAPPENING and being charged for a new window.

You would think that Road Bear would have factored the Possibility of front window damage into the daily rental or have insurances for this. This window charge really comes across as A final grind to get additional cash from you.

The folks that helped me at pickup and drop of seemed nice but when I Mentioned the shower and fridge issues they completely down played it. In the end they waved the $180 set up fee but I was made to feel as if I had done something wrong. No sign of them taking any responsibility for the RV not working right at all.

I also mentioned that I left a cash tip in their little box on the counter. The comment I got was....YEAH!.......

Will try another rental with them hopping they get the problems fixed but if it happens again it ll be the last rental.

Everything worked as expected, the shuttle arrived...

Everything worked as expected, the shuttle arrived on time, the German-speaking staff was friendly, the introduction to the motorhome extensive and the handover protocol just as accurate as you look and even beyond. Subsequent defects that were reported after the signing of the protocol and before departure were added. Here you should just take your time, be thorough and not quickly pack up quickly and go. That's just part of a hire car for me. The return has worked properly without problems, the subsequent shuttle also!

We were from 14.09. until 01.10. on the way and had no problems with the vehicle. It was in good condition.

Had booked a big 27 foot RV for 30 days in May / June 2019 at Road Bear. The vehicle was almost new and had run only 6,000 miles. The Convinience kits were very well equipped, the blankets and covers and the dishes were clean and everything was there. The handover was very fast, but everything ok, there is a manual in which everything is in it what you did not understand when picking up. Had no technical problems. The transfer shuttle back and forth was great. The levy has also worked out wonderfully. Have a great vacation behind us. That's the way it has to be. Thanks again to Road Bear, anytime .....

They are new vehicles, but the cleanliness of the vehicle handover leaves something to be desired. Hair on bed sheets and bedding. The previous tenant forgot things in the Womo.
So to recommend conditionally.
