Probably the best meal I have had in Seattle. They do very classic dishes but they do them really well. They also are big on wine and sommeliers here know there stuff. I was treated to a multi course dinner and wine pairing that really allowed me to experience their menu and there was nothing on it I didn't like. Their cassoulet was uber rich and delicious. Their scallops on the other hand, were light and delicate. Their starters of ahi tuna crisps, maitake tempura mushrooms (OMG), and other little canapes were all delicious. I don't even remember what dessert was but it was divine.

I've also come for lunch and had an equally good experience. I had their daily special which was a cioppino and probably the best I've ever had. I love that their portions aren't humongous but they also don't leave you wanting more, I think because of their flavor and richness. Their prices for lunch are quite reasonable. I definitely want to come check out their happy hour some time!

Great french restaurant. They have awesome collection of wines, they also have wine expert available in restaurant who can recommend food and wine combinations. Few friends ordered steak and few did fish, as they said all were great in taste. There were few vegiterian options were also available. Awesome food and excellent wines. This restaurant is on luxury side. So you should be ready to spend $$$.

this place blew me away. The service and food were both impeccable. I had the most tender hanger steak I've ever eaten here. The steak tartare was also worth trying. They actually mix the tartare in front of you. The wine selection was delicious. I subbed my fries with a mushroom fennel side dish that was amazing! I highly recommend coming here for a date night or even with a group. They have happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. and offers both drinks and food items. I support Michael Mina and all his endeavors.

A fav location for tasty Steaks. You will not be disappointed in the menu and service. I will be back with my coworkers. The bill was appropriate for the quality. Ambience reminds me of Colorado Springs area.

I can always count on delicious food with incredible service at RN74 (Micheal Mina). It is my go to for business and special family dinners. Happy hour is great too. RN74 s duck fat fries trio and tuna dish, prepared at your table are just a few of my favorites. There are so many. Wine selection is terrific too.

Went to this place because a friend recommended me to come here for their Bone Marrow dish. But, they don't offer it anymore, so I ordered other things. The Escargot was very greasy, the Truffle Mac -n- Cheese is pretty good, the french onion soup is "different" but not necessary better, the bouillabaisse is "wierd". Overall this place seems to serve dishes with fancy ingredient names but more like overly complicated dishes that would have been better if left simple and instead of using fancy ingredients, use locally sourced fresh ingredients.

Limited french menu but the food was cooked to perfection. The wine list is amazing and has a great selection at all price points. And the orphan bottle list on the wall using a train schedule board is so cool.

One of the best tasting menus in Seattle when chef Ben Godwin was charge ( I haven't been back yet to try the menu under the new chef). The deconstructed clam chowder and the strawberry rhubarb tarts are two of my all-time favorite dishes. The truffle rolls are really good.

Good, if a bit overpriced, food.

I liked the atmosphere -- great place to meet for dinner or even just drinks at the large central bar. The restaurant has an extensive wine list that was somewhat impressive and other people at my table enjoyed, but I'm not too picky about wine so it struck me as over the top. Food falls in the "okay" category for me -- a few of the appetizers we had were really tasty, and their oysters were good, but my main dish was pretty bland.

Restaurant week menu was completely different from what was posted on their website and it was completely misleading. The posted menu had some of their best items like the foie gras doughnut and steak entree--when we go to the restaruant no foie gras and the steak had a $19 up-charge. After taking a taxi there and paying for two drinks we walked out. RU 486 is a sham of a restaurant.

Authentic Moroccan food, we had the Dinner Special w/several courses and left happily stuffed! Try the drink with the Fig liqueur...Yum! Belly dancer was nice, but not very good and out of shape. Good and friendly service, if slightly uneven. Love the feel and decor. We will return when in town

Such a great happy hour spot in downtown. Some of the food choices I recommend on thr happy hour menu include mac and cheese (love it), the skewers (lean meet and tasty) and the hush puppies. A few things to stay away from would be the duck fat fries (way to much garlic) and thr sliders (way to small and not enough meat).

The bar is perfectly placed and great for people watching. The cocktails even those on the happy menu are good but do lean towards being a little pricey so take that into consideration when deciding whether or not to come bere. There also is an extensive wine list for those who aren't into cocktails.

Food is fantastic. We had the bone marrow, pork chop, Mary s chicken, and chocolate mousse. The pork chop is slightly too raw to us even we asked for well-done. Nonetheless the quality is top notch and we will definitely come back for the long wine list and extraordinary food.

Went for an early diner with coworkers. Staff were courteous and service was prompt and as expected.
The bar does not serve beer on tap which I found lacking at a restaurant which identifies itself as a brasserie. Even the beer list could be considered on the limited side.
The Boston lettuce salad was very simple but the dressing was the highlight with its flavors of rosemary and tarragon.
The halibut was cooked to perfection, moist and flaky, but puree and the beans served with it totally overpowered the flavor of the fish.
The gnocchi was well prepared and tasted very good.

We missed this time on dessert.

I would probably come back but not in the near future and definitely not for a business dinner.

We had the tasting menu, and it was pretty wonderful. The service was over the top. You can tell they strive for excellence in service, to the point that they seem a bit tense, which is fine. It may be that they are emulating an idea of french waiter aloofness, because although the service was amazing, it was not particularly friendly. It might be that they are stressed by the pressure to be perfect. Anyway, no actual complaints. And the food was fantastic. We commented on the fact that each course in the 5 course tasting was very rich to get their thoughts on that, to both our server and the general manager, who came to our table a few times. One of the reasons is that it is a french restaurant and french food tends to be rich. The other reason is that it is winter, and the dishes reflected that. They change the tasting menu completely every three to four weeks. The wine selection that went with the tasting was fantastic even at the basic level I chose. I would go again.

The bathrooms are pretty cool but they made me feel like I was in reservoir dogs, wounded and no one was coming for me. I was in the correct mindset to pee in this place. I also ate dinner.

I went here with my husband and another couple and we had a wonderful experience. Our server was good-natured, knowledgeable, and went out of his way to make us all comfortable (even my very sweet but picky and somewhat idiosycratic friend). Three of us ordered the Prix fix (guess who didn't) and the courses were all quite creative and very delicious. The vibe was trendy but not stuffy, the wine and craft cocktails were good. I would dine here again for sure.

Extremely disappointing. I was so excited to finally go to dinner here, but what a let down. Nothing we ate was above mediocre and the creme brulee was borderline curdled eggs. The server was no help on recommendations and I had to send my first drink back because she couldn't speak to the sweetness level of the drink (way too sweet). Plus - every time a dish or drink came, the server showed up before we could even take one bite and asked how it was - that happened a least 1/2 dozen times and it was so annoying. The last time she came and asked how our awesome desserts were and all I could say was not good.... The prices are way too high and there are so many wonderful places to eat in Seattle - this place just doesn't cut it.

RN74 is a step up from many of the restaurants in Seattle. The service was first rate and the duck I had was only second to a Peking duck I had in Brooklyn. The cocktails were well made, the wine list is thoughtful, and the atmosphere surrounding dinner was all very good.

Such food!!! Came for a lunch date with a colleague and the service was exceptional, the food marvelous. Presented in beautiful plates of just the right proportions, the French inspired menu is sure to please. The decor and ambiance is warm and friendly during the day, and would be romantic and soothing at night.

Had the 5-course tasting menu- where to start... 2 of the courses are raw vegetables, 1 that had salmon was very good, and the other two were okay. the wine pours are not large for the price (2oz for $13 a glass) and were all whites. Overall, very disappointed.

Stick with the regular menu and regular drinks.

Came here for the SRW, kinda disappointed at the selections of the menu as well as the speed of service. Anything that is interesting requires a significant upcharge. The wine list was extensive. The dishes were not as anticipated, both were soupy, flavorful nonetheless. The desert was the highlight. Regular price for the dishes are really high. Unlikely to come back again.

If you are craving fine French dining, RN74 is the place to go!

We ordered:

A selection of Taylor Shellfish Oysters. Very sweet and fresh, with just a hint of brine.

Michael Mina's Classic Ahi Tuna Tartare. Well seasoned yet light. Very fresh - not a hint of fishiness. The pine nuts added a pop of texture and flavor. They served it with some white toast which was kind of weirdly bland and boring. The portion size was quite small for the price. Still, this was one of my favorites of the night. Simple concept, excellent execution.

Roasted La Belle Foie Gras Doughnut. I was expecting great things of this dish! Sadly I think the sauce (berries and honey?) was too sweet and strong, overpowering the foie gras. In the end it mostly tasted just like a normal doughnut and not as spectacular as I was hoping.

Alaskan King Crab Pot Pie. I was also expecting great things of this dish, and it delivered! The presentation was a bit of a show: the server brought a plate with braised carrots and other vegetables (all cooked to perfection), on which he placed a round of puff pastry (flaky and buttery), on which he spooned huge chunks of king crab (oh, the crab, it was sweet and succulent and firm without being chewy in the least...everything you want crab to be...my mouth is watering just thinking about it now), on which he poured a cream sauce (rich and flavorful and tying everything together). Everything on the plate came together really well, all the different textures and flavors complemented each other. I highly recommend this dish. (FYI this dish is listed at MP, which was $68 for us last night - YMMV.)

RR Ranch Beef Short Rib Bourguignon. The beef was very tender and flavorful, but nothing about this dish really stood out to me. A tad over salted.

Duck Fat Fries. AMAZING. Bursting with flavor and just the perfect crispiness. A satisfying crunch with every bite. Logically I know they must be really fattening but they didn't taste greasy at all! Actually I think these might be among the best fries I have ever tasted. Warning: an addiction may form if you order these fries...they probably sprinkle them with crack or something because I couldn't get enough of them.

Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Roasted "Paris" Mushrooms. Lumping these two together because I felt the same about them: tasty, and good side dishes to round out the meal, but nothing really special about them.

Overall: the dishes varied in quality, but the better ones were REALLY good and even the not-as-good ones were still solid. The atmosphere was classy yet relaxed. Our server was friendly, helpful, and attentive. We had lots of questions with the menu and he offered great suggestions. Only downside is the dishes arrived very slowly (dinner took quite a bit longer than average - so don't try to schedule anything right after dinner!).

Loved the lounge area. Two 15 foot long tufted soft leather couches and antique lantern accessories defined a large lounge area where no one bothered us, but we were able sit, chat, enjoy while sampling a flight of wines, suggested to us based on our preferences...flights were individually labelled for current and future reference. A cool accent was the accent wall behind the bar with wine values - superimposed on an old fashioned Train Depot scheduling board.

RN74 aims at providing an extremely high standard for their wine program for guests. The selection is wide and spans across a wide region of grape growers. The food is modern French and upholds fresh flavors throughout. When you walk into the restaurant, you'll feel like you're in a sophisticated train station. Make sure to stop into the bathrooms.

Not sure about this place, the wine list is the only impressive thing I found about it. Salmon is served with a very bland lentil and it's hard to taste the claimed truffle butter in it. Hatched chicken dish wasn't bad but nothing extraordinary for a highly reviewed restaurant of such. To be fair the french onion soup was delicious, but oh well for a "french restaurant" that's the bare minimum. Beautiful interior and friendly staff.

If you do come for happy hour, get here early! The place gets packed soon after happy hour begins, as the entire bar brings in mostly the working crew of downtown Seattle. The bar area is not very large, as there are some side tables and two large couches in the center of the front space. And most of the times I've visited I've seen a reserved sign at a few of the side tables. So get here early and stake out a place.
