This place and people here are the best. I went in not knowing what i was doing and Dave hooked me up. Thank you Dave. I love my new gaming computer..

Excellent! Nice, quick, knew what they were doing, price and quality was perfect. I will be going back :)
They gave me quick, quality service and my laptop runs wonderfully now. Pretty nice guys, too.
Great staff and service! Very knowledgable and reasonable prices. Will continue to return for my pc parts needs
I had a very good experience with them when I brought a old computer for fix. Apparently, they found out that I just need a DMS-59 to dual VGA cable that fixed my problem!
The prices could be better but id rather shop here and get some of the best customer service and honest reviews about hardware before I buy. Ive purchased a few things here and have been more than happy with all of it.
The service I receive here is always fast and courteous
I ordered specific RAM and had it overnighted. Despite the RAM was not compatible with my computer, RJM have a full refund including the shipping because it was a specialty item.
Very honest company despite not ordering the correct part.
RJM is by far the best place in the Treasure Valley to get computer or electronic-related parts, service and advice. Being a business owner I have saved hundreds of dollars over the years for all of my computer support. What I really like about the folks at RJM is that they will give detailed advice concerning applications that will best fit your needs. Recently I went in to get a small connector and they gave it to me just in good faith. Before you go to any computer supplier in the Valley I highly recommend that you call or stop in RJM Computers and Electronics first!
We've always trusted RJM for our computer parts and repair and have never been dissatisfied. I recommend their services to all my friends and family. Their technicians are knowledgeable and helpful.
Helpful for all your computer needs. They have have what you want.
These guys are the best in town! Always helpful and thinking outside the box to make sure you are covered! Friendly and fair!
We have used RJM's help several times over the last years. Twice recently, Justin and Mike restored our computer after it had been plagued with numerous debilitating issues, viruses, etc. We were very happy that they were able to ferret-out the problems and get our computer back to good form. Their technical expertise has been very appreciated - we are glad that we have them available for possible future computer concerns.
This place is great. I took my laptop in to have it looked at. The person at the counter gave me a rough estimate and the reason. He then fixed a simple problem on the spot and didn't charge me anything. I'll take my computers here in the future!
Overpriced computer and electronics but a good resource for your needs. Just like Albertsons market in pinch as a go to source
Quick repair work, straight forward answers. All on all great staff.
I recently took my laptop in because it suddenly stopped working. The staff at RJM were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, set expectations appropriately, and displayed excellent follow through. The issue was a fried hard drive, which they diagnosed quickly when I arrived by listening as it tried to start up, it also displayed a message from the manufacture a few minutes later confirming the diagnosis. They let me know they would install a new hard drive, the cost, they would also try to get my files off the bad hard drive, and they would put it through QA before returning it to me. I have my computer back, they even placed the files in the same spot, so I barely had to do a thing. It runs better than new. Thank you!
I took two broken laptops into RJM Computers and Chris explained everything he was going to perform and the timeframe it would take to fix them. Good service, great staff and I have two screaming fast laptops!
Very nice local computer store. They have a great selection of computer parts and accessories. They also offer a small selection of HAM radio supplies.
Everyone was very helpful and fixed my problem with my laptop in less than an hour! I recommend this shop to anyone seeking help with PC problems. Thanks again!!
I also got to talk to someone from their sales group yesterday. I felt like I was talking to Nick Burns from an SNL skit. I was trying to get information about a wireless card since I didn't know the newest technology. He gave me such an attitude that I hung up. Ol' Nick Burns actually called me back for more argument. What is that? RJM GUYS: If we had to keep up with all the knowledge that we come to you for, then we wouldn't need you would we? Duh.
Was great got me everything I needed. Great service!
Great shop! Best part no COVID appointment needed.
I have been in to this store only a couple of times, however service is very hit or miss. Parts selection is very good and a very knowledgeable staff. However, they do have a way of talking down to people that takes years of practice. I think I will go back to ordering my parts online and put up with the wait. I believe the default attitude that anyone that walks through their door, does not know anything should be addressed by management.
Unassuming store with large selection, had what Best Buy didn't. Prices were also very reasonable.
These fellows, especially,Ryan, are incredibly knowledgeable and patient. Very casually professional and so very helpful. Would recommend Ryan and Justin to anyone from someone not particularly computer literate to one with vast experience. Incredible customer service or to say it clearly, The Best Ever!
Been a customer here for years, these guys are real experts and are always willing to answer any questions customers have.
RJM is not your "Worst Buy" or "Circuit Shady" mega store. This store is for nerds. Any other life form will find it overwhelming. Non nerds beware! Probably the most comprehensive non-chain computer store I have been to in the Valley. They have everything.
These guys know their stuff. Very helpful. Was even able to answer a couple questions about a couple Ham Radio Clubs.
This is by far the best computer shop around. They are so friendly and knowledgeable and do their best to make you feel at home and welcomed.
I came in because I decided to replace a motherboard in my pc, and missed a step or two.
Tyler in the service dept is phenomenal! He was helpful, friendly, and answered any questions I had.
I highly recommend this place!
Wireless stopped working on my laptop; thought it needed a hardware fix. They found the problem in a software glitch, fixed it in a couple of minutes and sent me on my way--without charge.
Tremendous customer service. Mike did a quick diagnosis and provided the cause to my computer problem. I will definitely return in the future.
Kevin and Sean were both SUPER helpful! My laptop encountered severe water damage and they were still able to help me quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend these guys!
Had exactly what I needed. Dave was very friendly and very enthusiastic about computers. He helped me find what I needed for my new hard drive install.
The sales staff rides the line of being pushy, and the price markup is too much. If you need a part right away they probably have it but you will pay a lot more than an online retailers. Overall I'd say stay away unless you have to have it right away.
They weren't able to repair my ham radio, but then again, they weren't set up to do that. But they gave it their best shot.
First and foremost, any company that responds the way they do to negative reviews is a bad sign. You take the good and the bad, you just from the bad. I went in to look at some things for a build I was doing. I literally had everything I needed just looking at what extra stuff I could put on. The first thing I noticed is the prices for a lot of things are super inflated. Now I get it, you're supporting a local shop, they have to turn a profit, and your paying for convenience. But what I don't like, is how the "salesman" was pushing for me to have them build a computer or to buy one of their already built computers. The icing on the cake was when the guy that was helping me, went off and helped some other dude. I was ready to drop some money, I mean I already dropped money for all my other stuff, but then he just binders and starts helping this other guy. So I ask one of the other guys to show me this case and after like 10 minutes, the original guy was like "oh I've been helping him for like an hour, I just stepped off to help someone else." Now mind you, he didn't tell me he was going to help the guy, her literally just left right on front of me. His hour, wasn't an hour. More like 30 minutes if him trying to push me to buy everything from them. Hell, he even took me in a back room to show me this PC they we're building. That's when I know they work off commission. Left a very sour taste in my mouth.
And, any business that slams someone for leaving a bad review. You should learn how to fix the issues your customers are talking about. Not slam them. It doesn't look good by you.
Tyler is amazing..!! I could not have asked for a better experience... In addition to his incredible knowledge/skills... He was so kind, patient and understanding. He answered every question and every concern...and more. It's a wonderful feeling to know I'm in such good hands.Thank you Tyler!
Lorie Anderson ~
Super friendly and very knowledgable! I would definitely recommend their services!
Awesome coustomer service and great advice on installtion!
Having been in there before I already knew how horrible and condescending the service at RJM can be. Unfortunately I had no other choice because they had a part in stock I could not find anywhere else in town. I was having trouble with my recently set up duel monitors, and while I was explaining the situation to whomever was working that day he impatiently held his hands up and began snapping his fingers as my apparent lack of computer knowledge and speed of delivery with my issue clearly weren't good enough to grace his presence. I ended up leaving and ordering the same part I had right in front of me online instead and waited a few days for it rather than support a business with service so low.
Keeps Newegg in business if you can wait a couple of days.
I called to ask about a cpu fan for my new pc im building but was treated like I didn't know much about what I was doing. I was met with a question of "who is buiding the pc? You or your husband?" Im not sure why my gender has anything to do with building a computer but it has certainly made me uncomfortable. I was also being upsold on equipment I don't need. A cpu fan shouldn't cost someone almost $60 and I definitely don't need a liquid cooling system. Hopefully no one else gets duped into buying things they don't need for their computer and also won't be treated differently based on their gender.
In June, RJM helped my select the components for a high-performance PC. I purchased what they recommended, including some to my own tastes, and they helped make sure everything worked together by putting together the key system components (motherboard, graphics card, memory, CPU and fan) and doing a POST on their workbench. I completed the assembly at home, and everything has worked really great.
Excellent resource for computer hardware offering custom-built systems and expedited service.
Thank you for great service. Not only were you able to fix my computer but the customer service was fabulous. Thank you for explaining to me what needed to be done and how to prevent the same issue from happening again.
Great place for computer parts no one else has! If you need something, odds are they have it. And the staff is always nice and respectful. Highly recommended!
I not only got what I went for, but they gave me some sugestions on how to improve what I had in mind. These guys are awesome!
RJM was the ONLY store in Boise that had what I was looking for! Great staff and great prices! Thanks RJM!
These people are honest, friendly, and very helpful. I highly recommend them. They have never failed me.
Poor people skills. Been calling around to get some information to repair my computer. Spoke with RJM twice over the phone and once in store about what options/parts they had for me. Overly confident sales approach. Would not let me finish with all my questions. Just told me to buy what they were telling me because they were the most educated about any and all PCs. Did not feel comfortable in store very dirty. Not to mention they were 20-40% more expensive than online.
No shame in putting a new price tag over the previous price tag nearly doubling the price and no, that is not including graphics cards. Been 4 times. Plan ahead and get your parts somewhere else. This place is a last resort.
Awesome. Couldn't even start to explain how great the customer service is. The boys know their stuff. Will definitely return for anything I need!
Staff here was extremely helpful and store was well stocked.
Horrible customer service. The store says they close at 6. I entered the store at 5:59, so I was pushing it. But the two employees on hand were already walking out, before 6! I said that all I needed was a small cable. The employee responded saying that all the computers were turned off. He then says they can't help me and turns off the open sign. What computer store has all it's computers shut off before closing time? I may be blowing this completely out of proportion. But if a business owner is cheap enough to hire employees like that, he doesn't deserve my business.
Rude overconfident staff who over charge for relatively simple repairs. I was going to have my laptop to them to have the screen replace, but after talking on the phone with one of their technicians for less than five minutes I knew they were charging way too much, and on top of that being rude about it. RJM has horrible customer service and a horrible staff. My advice to anyone thinking about doing business with RJM is to take your business else where you WILL be much happier!
Great selection of parts. One of the techs helped me find the adapter I needed and was generally friendly and easy to talk to. Good experience overall.
We had a back up drive crash in which everything was stored. Took it to RJM Computers on a Friday and they immediately took care of me knowing I was in a dire situation. Absolutely fantastic customer service, great expertise and actually know what they are talking about. This is not some chop shop big box store but a great reliable company. They are willing to help out and are going to supply us with new equipment at better prices than any competition. THANK YOU RJM!!!!!
Great staff just have a limited inventory which is hard for someone like me who is picky about things like computer cases
Excellent place to get a computer built right with correct suggestions. Plenty of parts and customer service is great
I brought in a computer to have it diagnosed for an issue I was experiencing. After having it for half a week they said that they were unable to recreate my problem. I came in, booted up my computer on their system, and the problem immediately presented itself. After that, I had to stay there and do all the work to fix the issue myself because their repair technician knew less about computers than I did. The cherry on top is the nonnegotiable 25% restocking fee on all of their parts.
Expert and excellent help and assistance with my PC by phone this morning. Thanks Ryan @ RJM!
RJM Computers and Electronics provided me with fast and affordable service. They even gave me a call back to make sure everything is working correctly and that I am happy with their work! They were very accommodating and I give them a five star review!
My business, SimTech Computers, has used RJM for years. They offer services from buying a new warrantied computer, laptop or desktop, or walk in repairs. Very professional and experienced technical support.
Where do I begin, a good 75% of their inventory is WAY over priced from retail value. Not too long ago I was in a pinch for a motherboard for the ryzen 3rd gen CPUs and best but was out of stock of this specific motherboard. When I went to RJM the same MOBO was almost DOUBLE the price!! First of all, price gouging is ILLEGAL and secondly, I more than understand trying to keep the lights on but what they charge is absolutely insane, the only thing that's reasonably priced there is their cases. DO NOT come here for hardware unless it's something small like an adapter. My second issues is their atitude, whenever you call they always sound like you're inconveniencing them nor are they thankful for you choosing to support a small buisness over say newegg or bestbuy, they seem to take their customers for granted. Extremely rude, never a thank you or a please. Unless you're in a pinch for something small go to bestbuy, amazon, newegg or tiger direct. They're rude and price gouge everything they sell!
Very friendly great selection of parts and equipment. Lots of parts you can't get at most stores great for building your own computer. Also carry screw for cases and motherboards if you lose some they will help you out.
Excellent stock and service, as always! My to-go computer store.
Very knowledgeable staff, with great prices on components, and repair.
Great place to get your computer fixed up! Never had a problem they couldn't solve.
Wow! Thanks Mike from RJM! I had a presentation to give tonight and my mini-projector stopped working. Mike helped me troubleshoot the problem and found the exact cable I needed to replace the one that was broken. When he realized the 'tester' cable was the only one they had in stock he gave it to me for free. None of the big electronics stores in town had the cable in stock, and I know nobody else in town would have offered to help troubleshoot my problem at no charge. This is why it's great to shop local! Amazon and Best Buy can't help you in an emergency like these guys can. Thanks RJM!
I bought a new GTX 2080 super and needed a cable to get it running in the computer. Called the store and the gentleman, who I assume is the owner, answered and was very helpful in telling me what I needed and that he had it. It mentioned that he would leave it at will call to be picked up the following day. Upon showing up there was no cable. Then two of his employees said that I shouldn't do that anyway and pushed me to buy a new power supply. So I did. After discovering the power supply wouldn't fit, I asked them to take the internals out and swap it into a new tower. The guy I dealt with has been incredibly rude. I certainly won't be coming back anytime soon. All I have asked was just an approximate time frame and he responded coldly, "I'll call you when it's done."I been a couple of business days which is laughable to say it takes that long to do this. I built that computer in an hour with a friend.
One of the few remaining retail computer parts stores in Boise. The staff is helpful and friendly.
Okay, here's the deal. RJM has a great inventory and a knowledgeable staff. If you walk in with a clear COMPUTER oriented objective the odds are good that you will get the answers/parts you need. When I needed a molex to SATA connector...BAM!, they had it. Nobody else in the valley did.
When I needed a KVM switch...BAM! They knew what it was (which is helpful) and sold me one.
Yes, they can repair most kinds of laptops and desktops.
Yes, they do have a bargain table you can peruse.
Yes, they most likely have the computer cable you need to get the job done.
No, they are not an electronics repair store. They repair computers. COMPUTERS.
No, they will not pander to your long-winded speeches. Walk in with a concise goal, walk out with a solution. These guys want to help you, not listen to you for hours on end.
No, they do not price match. You either buy local and get local support or you buy online and suffer the consequences of your actions.
If the above mentioned items do not work with your mindset then I firmly suggest you coordinate with geek squad (guffaw) or get a mac (because those get broken/infected too...but hey, at least you are a member of an "elite" club of ignorant bliss).
In the end it boils down to this: You should be a diligent and intelligent consumer. You have computer needs and RJM has computer solutions.
Try them and form your own opinions, folks. Plain 'n simple.
The staff was knowledgeable and helpful and did what they could to help me. Best computer place i have been to, in Boise or otherwise.
RJM is one of the few stores in Boise that sells computer components and professional networking hardware.
A one-stop-shop for computer enthusiasts and IT professionals, this store has just about everything needed to build a computer or set up a network deployment.
This store has a wide range of products, from graphics cards and CPUs to audio and video adapters, to professional POE APs and small UPS systems.
Aside from components, RJM also offers computer repair and servicing, and their staff are obviously highly knowledge.
Found what I needed, but it was marked up 500%. Location is dimly lit and kinda grungy looking. Returning me purchase was fast though, so that's nice.
Haven't even been to this store. Called in politely asking if they did any sort of price match, gentleman who answered the phone immediately acted like I kicked his dog for even asking the question and went on to explain how expensive it is to run the store and how his employees get paid more than 8/hr. It was a pretty simple question, and I was talked down to right out of the gate instead of being like "No, unfortunately we do not." After comparing prices these guys are consistently 50% or even MUCH higher than Amazon, Newegg, etc. Would have been willing to give it a shot to have a" professional opinion" but whoever took my call was anything but professional. Best of luck to you guys.
Good prices, great service, employees very knowledgeable, and great selections of whatever you need for your computer.
They may not be as cheap as Newegg but they are very helpful and know their stuff, even for gaming builds. Even though I didn't buy all my computer parts from them they were friendly and helpful. I will continue to do business with them.
They are extremely competitive for pricing on all of their items with all local retailers and if you need something today no one local can beat them. The stock that keep is high quality and not cheap Chinese crap that will break if you look at it wrong.
Their repair shop is where they shine they have the knowledge to fix almost any problem and their prices on repairs local or on the net can not be beat. This is the only store that i go to when i need something right away.
RJM is the best place to get your pc fixed. The people here are the best. I give them a five star for everything they do. Check 'em out.
RJM had what I needed in stock! Everyone else in town needed to order it.
RJM custom built an ultra-high-performance computer that fit my specs for half the price on the open market, if you could find it that is. Dave was very knowledgeable and dialed in the performance and the "aesthetic." Sean put it together, was very conscientious, and clearly focused on my satisfaction with the machine. Bob made sure I was happy. Plus, the machine has a 2-year warranty. If you want a great computer and excellent customer service RJM is your place!
RJM rocks. The fact that they locally stock SO MUCH STUFF technicians need is clutch. Sure, some of the stuff has higher markups than others. This is a retail shop, with expenses, like rent. And employees. It isn't a charity.
But if you need it NOW, nine times out of ten they have it, and THAT is just so cool. Owner is a righteous guy; staff is efficient and courteous, if a bit otaku. Need a bare-bones multi-drive server to lab something up? They usually have a few laying around. Need an RS-232 adaptor TODAY? --check. Need an actual PC or laptop at a decent price? Yep.
One of Boise's treasures.
I had a small problem with my Elitebook 8440P. The service department fixed the issue and showed me how to correct it if I made the same mistake again. They also made some program recommendations to help avoid other issues. They did not bill me for anything. I've been going over there for @ 15 yrs. they have always been very helpful!!
Incredibly high markup on every piece of inventory. When I can buy a HDD through amazon for less than half of what you sell it for I start to think your are pulling the wool over peoples eyes. I dont believe RJM survives by selling parts and services to people that know anything about computers, do your research before walking through those doors.
I got a digital tv-antenna for my mom from here for super cheap.
