Rivertrees Country Inn Review

The restaurant & the outside tables are very pleasant, peaceful and comfortable. The food is good but unimaginative. The first Sunday of the month features live music & an outdoor BBQ which is tasty.

Delicious meals, reasonably priced, excellent waitstaff, beautiful natural environment (complete with monkeys!) Best restaurant in or near Arusha!

What a wonderful respite from long travels. Peaceful and beautiful grounds, friendly and efficient staff, made our overnight stay hear such a rejuvenating experience. Highly recommend.

Picture perfect location with tremendously friendly staff. Rooms were elegant with all the required amenities, including WiFi. Monkeys roam the grounds but they are harmless and entertaining to watch. Out of all the hotels we visited during our safari trip, this was by far the best. Definitely worth visiting again.

Just tried the restaurant. Good selection at reasonable prices. Perhaps Arusha's best pizzas.

It's always a pleasure to try something new and have your expectations met and surpassed.
This is exactly what happened to me and my family on my birthday this year, when we decided we'd had enough of our "usual" places around Arusha.
The grounds of the Rivertrees Country Inn are well landscaped and maintained. The food is prepared with care and quality, and the staff appear to be well trained and to care about providing good service to patrons.
Prices are very decent, and the only issue is perhaps with too limited a selection of dishes on the menu.

Stayed here as part of a safari booking. Restaurant stayed open late as they knew people had arrived late at the airport. The included meal was really amazing and everyone was very nice.

The pizzas had good textures but lacked some taste, no garlic/ chili sauce was brought to the table!

An exceptional hotel with well-kept gardens where it is possible to see monkeys freely, the service is excellent and the rooms, which are independent houses scattered around the gardens, are the best we have seen in Tanzania.

My son and I lodged there in 2017, the staff were gracious and the lodge was beautiful

Just the perfect place. We had the villa at the water. Super friendly staff and every wish that you have they will help you with. The neighborhood is very nice with the water and monkeys in the trees. The food at the restaurant wooow!! have a drink at the fire. or walk around or sit outside your villa and listen to the water and watch the stars with a drink

Very nice hotel area and very good service.
We used the place for one night between visiting Arusha NP and Tarangire NP.

The grounds here are well manicured and attractive. The staff is attentive and accommodating. And the resident monkeys will make your day as they run around during lunch. The downsides: not much to do in the area, and the front desk is not particularly adept at making activity arrangements. Also, the pool is much, much smaller than the Inn's photo makes it look.

Amazing.
Our room was near the river, so we heard the rustling water from the room. There are 3 different species of monkeys which play in the trees. Had chilli minced beef and green pepper pizza for dinner (they have a pizza oven, so it tasted even better!).

Beautiful ambience! Away from the hustle and bustle of city life!

Lovely place, nothing notably fantastic, reminded me of a hotel in the Caribbean. Good food friendly staff.

Live music was great. Food was delicious but took a while to get. We went for a Birthday meal but there were no desserts available. We told the waiter about the birthday but noone came to sing as in the past, possibly because the restaurant is getting going again after Covid 19.

We have had the great baptism of the two professed Lord Jesus. Acts 2:38 "Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." I also invite you to believe in Jesus and be baptized in order to be saved from hell. Amen

Friendly staff and very comfortable accommodations. Great starting point for safari.

We were able to spend comfortably. Freshly ground coffee powder was also prepared in the jars in the room, and it was generous. The food was good too.

You can get to Rivertrees from Himo Road or from River Trees Road. Himo is the main road which is great if you take a daladala but if you're walking it's better to go down Nelson Mandela and then take the first left where the road curves to the right. Rivertrees road is looks like it goes no where but stick with it. The restaurant is a little ways down the road on the right side. The pizza was fantastic. We ordered the margarita and the chicken, brie and spinach. They let us pay with a credit card. It was affordable with beautiful grounds and many expatriates. Fantastic service. We will definitely go again!

We went here for a birthday lunch and not only did they charge us corkage for bringing in a cake (this was fine but they should put a notice on their website so people are aware), they also didn't allow us to use the pool as it's for guests only. Also the place had an old colonial feel to it which made us feel a little uncomfortable. Even though the food was good, the overall experience wasn't worth enough for us to go back.
