I went to Riva for NYE 2019 the occasion was really incredible, the setting is extraordinary.

I bought a celebrity pass to have speedier access to the bar and toilets, this was not the case it was in reality faster to leave the celebrity zone and utilize the fundamental toilets and bars.

Likewise the climate in the primary region wound up being so much better as well, wishing I didn't pay that extra $100 for no genuine explanation.

As it was New Years Eve I additionally would have expected somewhat more publicity around the check down into the new year.

For the past 5 months I have on endless occasions tried to ring and book for a night out.
I have a gift voucher that my parents have purchased of whom have enjoyed many nights dinning themselves. The issue being they have been under renovations ( that is all good.. at times businesses have to improve/ upgrade, I understand that), but I have sent emails and left messages, not one reply!!! . Now you ring and the message bank is full!!!
A clear case of and I m fearful my parents have done there doe!!!

I've had a complete satisfaction after eating an amazing meal.
However, I noticed their decor is a bit dated and dusty.
Otherwise, everything would have been perfect.

We had our wedding at Riva in Feb. Our wedding coordinator, Emma, along with the staff, made it an amazing day and we couldn't be happier. They made everything completely stress free, the food was great (the vegans were happy too), staff extremely friendly and a wonderful venue overlooking the bay. Thanks again Riva.

Fantastic views, a fabulous outdoor deck for the summer afternoons and a cozy cocktail lounge with open wood fire for the cold winter months. A great bar coupled with a great restaurant. The food is very good, the atmosphere is on-point - yet I can't give this five stars. There's a real disconnect between the relaxed bar area and the restaurant. They really don' t go well together. I've been to this place many times, and it just suffers from a lack of identity. Manages to deliver every time, but leaves me wanting more.

Terrible venue poorly serviced and overpriced tickets. Bought highest level Chandon tickets (above VIP) with food included. Food never came and when we tried to get food from VIP area we were told we weren't allowed in that section even though we paid double their price. So we stayed in our area which was actually quite nice until security started letting up general admission which made no sense... We ended getting bullied out of our "above vip" spots by a bunch of messy general admission kids and it got so packed we had to leave. Nice sunset though but will never come here again and recommend staying away from this place.

Had such a good day and night here! If you are looking for great service ( Big wraps to Max on the bar your service was tops! ) on a hot day with the best view from the deck. You could not ask for a better place :-)

I was with my family ( 8 adults including a baby) for lunch yesterday 23 Sept 2018. I have been to RIVA couple of times in the past and it was OKAY. Wonder whether its under a new Management?
Only 1 person have been serving more than 8 tables.
Main lunch meal was horrible. Spent huge $$$$ plus a tip to have a bad taste in the mouth. RIVA will never come to you for a meal.
Answer to the Owner's response...? I am not worried about your multiple staff????? staff are doing their best... you as a Manager you make sure you provide a decent tasty meal for the price we pay. Pay extra money and hire a professional cooks.

According to your comment about something about our language or other we don't get it. As I mentioned in my previous note, your staff is great no one commented on staff. Its all about food, do not get upset we won't be back to your restaurant.

Service was very slow and very bad. Staff were not attentive at all.

Used to be an absolute icon, went there many times spending whole days day drinking overlooking the city and the bay. It s been let go big times, the organisers struggle to get their life together because no support bu the owners. The location is one of the most stunning in Melbourne but it s slowly falling apart. The rooms need renovations urgently, the front lawn is alway dirty. Someone need to start taking care about it again.

Best for a sunset.

Attended a private function, the staff we friendly and accommodating. The food was superb.

Mixed feelings here. Was on the fence about a 3 or 4. The service was great. We had a table of maybe 12-14 and he remembered everyone's order without taking notes. A couple of pieces of my calamari were a little bit fishy, not a good sign and clearly ruined the taste. I didn't sent it back because it was only a couple of pieces and time was a factor. A lack of air conditioning made it challenging for many of the patrons on the hot day. The price was good and the location was nice. Everyone else said they loved their food, so I gave it a 4 based on their comments.

Just thought I d leave a bit of feedback, I organised to meet friends at riva sat 19th for my 35th birthday and it wasn t until a friend got there that we established it was a festival, the disappointment was I checked your events page on Facebook to make sure no events were on that night, nothing was listed under events except for Australia Day and New Year s Day, so we ended up moving locations at last minute which was frustrating to notify people of the change at last minute

Great fun place to eat especially on the water for lunch when you can sail afterwards or go for a walk this is well positioned and delightful.

Nice food and very friendly staff. Prime position for sundowners. Venue could do with a bit of an upgrade though, definitely a bit old and tired.

Very happy with riva would go back the live music was great.

We went there for dinner a month ago for a girlfriends birthday !The food and service was fantastic !every course was amazing it was the best pork Belly I've had in Melbourne !well done can't wait to come back for dinner !

Food I remembered used to be incredible, went in last Friday & very disappointed. Steak was burnt the Asian plate was so tasteless! Won t be back for the price !

Went down with some girlfriends for Sunday drinks had a beautiful view and food was amazing. Unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired with a young woman behind the bar yelling there were no clean glasses or spoons in the entire restaurant, waited 10mins without so much as being acknowledged at the bar, while another gentleman commented that the sewerage leak could be smelled from the balcony and throughout the restaurant. Riva would have been quite the place to be back in the day but the overal aesthetic and vibe of the venue needs a complete overhaul. Disappointing for such a great location but definitely much better options along the beach front for a day out.

Performed at a wedding ceremony and reception at Riva in January. Awesome location and awesome venue. Staff were very helpful on the day.

Very nice .... for those who want to pick up a MILF and spend a different evening the place is ok.

I've heard multiple reports of how badly they treat their staff. Underpaying, not feeding staff not even allowing them to eat leftovers! Also they don't property hire people, and don't insure their workers. I'm thinking of reporting them to the relevant authorities. Avoid if you care about ethical hospitality.

Next time I'm back in Victoria I'll be definitely coming back

Very run down & tacky looking. Shame given the location.

A great place to go to for drinks or a bite to eat. In summer the marina is spectacular, in winter cosy and romantic. Sunday sessions are a fav of mine.

Had a families wedding here. Clearly was a function the night before. No effort from Riva to clean up for our function. Prior to the wedding we spend 4-5 hours cleaning broken glass out of carpet, spilt drinks from floor boards, cigarette butts and airing the place out, wiping windows from drinks split and VOMIT.
Make sure you ask Riva's cleaning preparations for your functions prior to booking venue.

Love the views. More options on menu would be good.
